High Kick’s Kim Ji-won in Elle Girl
by javabeans
Kim Ji-won is one of the new young rookies in the sitcom High Kick 3: Counterattack of the Short Legs, and I think bound to be one of the big stars launched by the show (along with Lee Jong-seok, in particular). And thanks to her heightened profile on the series, she’s already landed a fashion magazine spread, in the upcoming issue of Elle Girl.
Despite her youth (19) and lack of acting experience (she has one film on her resumé, Romantic Heaven), Kim shows an assuredness onscreen that translates well to her character. Ji-won in the show is refreshingly left of center; not so quirky as to be 4-D, but just offbeat enough to keep you (and also her friend/neighbor/crush Yoon Kye-sang) surprised on a regular basis. Also leaving a small-hearted Soo-jung (Krystal) stewing in jealousy, but the less said about her, the better.
Kim explained that after Romantic Heaven and prior to the premiere of High Kick 3, she’d spent a lot of time preparing for the big role. “In a sitcom, you never shoot any scenes completely alone, so that helped me bond quickly with the other actors. The actors are always giving and taking, adjusting to each other, and that process is thrilling and fun.”
Kim Ji-won’s issue of Elle Girl hits stands in November, and her sitcom High Kick 3 airs Monday through Friday.

Love that leather jacket in the last photo - doubt I'd look as good as her in it though... :(

A yeti? Hahaha.
If I ever wore that coat, I'd be constantly stroking my arms, it looks delightfully furry. (Hope it's fake fur though...)

Ah, the Yeti. Who would've thunk I'd see them words on DB. Some may call them the Abominable Snowman (Snowmen?), and often are mistaken for, or can be referred to as, Bigfoot or Sasquatch. HAHAHA. Sorry.
Also, I think the fur coat, especially in the second picture, brings more of Howl of Howl's Moving Castle to mind when he transforms rather than the Yeti.

Love the photos! I actually like the clothes too but I'm guessing that I might be in the minority.
I really like Kim Jiwon, she's easily my favorite character of the younger High Kick 3 cast and second to only Yoon Kye Sang. She's really refreshing and I'm enjoying watching her interactions with the other characters. I can't wait to see how everything plays out.
Side note, Kim Jiwon was/is actually a part of the "What's Up" cast, she was the quirky girl in the trailer that sang "Like a Virgin". I liked her in the trailer and I still like her now. I can definitely see her reaching super stardom in the near future.

She's cute - and looks like she's about 12. The clothes are nice, just wish they would have put her in some color other than black.

Love the last two pics! Especially the boots =)
I wonder of she's as quirky in real life because she's awesome on the screen.

Lee Jong-seok, really? I'm kind of tired of one-note "actors" who can only do the petulant asshole role for so long. Still waiting for him to show something other than that.

LOVE her in High Kick 3! As for the pictures, she has the same face in all of them. Although I can't blame here since she probably doesn't have much experience with photoshoots/posing. Just something I noticed. She will be a HUGE star in the future!

She's my favourite character in High Kick 3! Love her cool, quirky, slightly detached personality. And she has the best storyline too.
But these pictures...she looks so awkward in them.

Isn't Ji-won in What's Up with Daeseng? I mean seeing the What's Up trailer, I swear the girl in there resemble her .. (not referring to the Soul actress)

I really don't like this photoshoot, but she's adorable. It's like they're trying to sell funeral clothes in all these photos, with the dark lighting, etc. @_@~

I like all the guys in it, even crazy daddy Ahn! But the girls are another matter. KimJW plays my fav female char on HK3. The pretty teacher seems mentally challenged, whereas the girl who comes to stay for a night but never leaves is not at all likable. The Ahn girl only ever screams, pouts and throws a fit. It's still a fun show. There is nothing as enjoyable out there rt now.
