Yoon Seung-ah joins KBS’s Brain
by javabeans
Yoon Seung-ah has graduated to leading lady status with her next role, as she’s just been cast in KBS’s medical drama Brain, which earlier cast Lee Sang-yoon (The Duo) as its ambitious lead.
True to its title, the drama’s all about brains and the people who treat them. (Alas, not the zombies who eat them.) The cast of neurosurgeons includes Lee Sang-yoon, his sunbae Jung Jin-young (Dong Yi), his rival Lee Hyun-jin (You’ve Fallen For Me), and now love interest Yoon Seung-ah.
Yoon’s character, Yoon Ji-hye, is described as a dedicated and committed professional who’s hard-core about her studies and her work. Usually that means the character’s got some flaws on the personality front (see: harsh Dr. Poopypants in Scent of a Woman, before he learns how to express his inner emotions without lashing out), but Ji-hye is warm and fair with her patients.
Yoon is still relatively new to the industry (at almost-28, she got a bit of a late start) and has had just a couple of supporting drama roles under her belt — she was Ha-ni’s best friend in Playful Kiss and most recently in the family sitcom All My Love — but I like her screen presence and hope this drama suits her.
She said, “Following All My Love, I’m happy to be cast in my first drama leading role. This will give me the opportunity to show a more serious image than in a sitcom. I’ll be heading into shoots soon so I’m busily preparing now, and I’ll work hard to repay all the love I’ve been given.”
Brain follows Poseidon, airing on Mondays and Tuesdays starting in November. (Not gonna lie, every time I hear that title, I can’t help but sigh and wish that this drama were about zombies instead.)

I like Yoon Seung Ah! Don't know how the chemistry between her and Lee Sang Yoon is gonna work but I'm kinda excited to watch.
I liked her in AML though I stopped watching it after awhile(seriously, it's such a dead end show). Now, I hope she's gonna do well with Brains. Hopefully this drama will really work for her.

can't wait she is very talented.
She doesn't even need a leading role in order
to get noticed. I like how recently she's been everywhere in the news :D
I hope she keeps getting more famous

Braiiiiiin!
I really like this actress. She was charming in Playful Kiss.
I'm really fascinated at how different she appears in her styled photos - the one over at Soompi is fab - didn't even recognize her.

Bua hahaa. For a spilt-second I was like "Jang Na Ra is back in a drama?" And then I noticed it's the girl I found so adorable in Playful Kiss.
This drama sounds interesting and possibly first-episode-watchable. Now if they would just give my Lee Hyun Jin a love interest... why couldn't he be the lead :'(.

I'm having a Kimura Takuya flashback to the crime solving Mr Brain haha. That was a fun, Burn Notice-esque drama.
I'm already on-board because of Lee SangYoon (still reeling from the fact that he was a physics guy at Seoul U) :D

Of the relatively new crops of actresses, I like her and Jung So Min a lot. Looks wise, she reminds me a bit of Lee Na Young. Anyway, I wish her a lot of success. I'm sure she'll be a very good leading lady.

Loved her in Playful Kiss (my saccharin-sweet, not-so-secret guilty pleasure!) and I hope she does really well in this role.

This looks interesting. I'm actually watching a show that deals with the brain. Mr. Brain. Really good. I love neuroscience and neurology. I'm a nerd that way. But you gotta admit the brain is all kinds of cool. Like the cool side of the pillow cool.

Hahahaha, I'm not with you on the zombie preference since I watched this movie "Dead Snow" involving nazi zombies (and brains, and ........) that's a few lifetimes enough for me (sat through the whole thing) ^^;;;;;;;;;;

Seems like this drama might be interesting, but I'd have to know more about the plot and other characters first =)

I wouldn't say that she is talented, and I have yet to be impressed by any of her characterizations, but I don't dislike her. She has that...sort of appeal.

I've just finished watching Playful kiss. I noticed her as pretty & natural with her performance, the creative best friend of Hani. Good job & good luck Yoon Seung ah.

Ohmygoodness, I never noticed it when I watched Playful Kiss but that description is spot on! Best example of "Cannot Unsee" if there ever was one. I don't find it bad or good, just really amusing! Okay, will now go laugh this off now!
