Lee Tae-sung, a man of few words

I loooove this guy! How could I not? Lee Tae-sung can be charming, sweet, adorable, hilarious, funny, and HOT! I loved how sweet, dedicated and in love he was with Su Ae in Bottom of the 9th with 2 Outs, and he cracked me up with his accent and Grease lightning hair in Playful Kiss. And now he has decided to come clean and reveal to us just who he is behind all those characters he played over the years.

Lee Tae-sung currently can be seen on MBC’s weekend drama, Hooray for Love, playing a philandering attorney, Byun Dong-woo. In an interview for the upcoming issue of the fashion magazine Sure, Lee revealed what his true personality is like to his fans. He may have had us rolling on the floor with his colorful character on Playful Kiss, or rolling our eyes at his womanizing character on Hooray for Love, but truthfully, the character he takes on in real life is a man of few words with a much quieter persona.

The baseball player he played in Bottom of the 9th with 2 Outs wasn’t too far from who he truly is; Lee has been an avid player of the sport, from middle school throughout high school. The overachieving student also learned how to play the piano, drums, and saxophone during his earlier years. In the episode of Hooray for Love which aired on the September 18, Lee’s character surprises Lee Bo-young‘s character with a piano serenade, which the talented Mr. Lee played himself.

Lee said, “I hated hearing people say that since I’m not good at studying, I should be good at playing sports. I never once ran away from it, but I have thought about how that might affect my acting career. While shooting the drama Playful Kiss, I completely got rid of those thoughts.”

You can read more about Lee in the upcoming October issue of Sure magazine.

I like his character a lot in Hooray For Love. He's very cute! Had to laugh at the obligatory Uncomfortable Public Serenade his character did though, especially after watching A Thousand Kisses right after and seeing the guy there do an Uncomfortable Public Serenade there, too. XD

Me, too. He was only 22 then.

And when he played the teen for PK, he was 25.
He just has that something something.

X-factor? Or abs? I've never seen him take off his shirt so it HAS to be the former.

What a nice surprise! I actually just started watching 9 End 2 Outs this weekend and I'm really loving Lee Tae-sung's character so far. Jung Joo's earnest dedication to Nan Hee is very touching :)

Yeah, 9 End 2 Outs was an underappreciated drama.

So much better than some of the dreck that becomes hits.

OMG! You should see him in "Romance Zero". Absolutely great. Not juvenile at all. A grown-up charismatic man. The ensemble cast was absolutely wonderful, too. As well as the story and guest stars for each episode.

If you've not watched the drama, check it out because it's worth a watch ... or more. I've watched certain episodes several times.

Romance Zero is what impressed me the most. When i saw him in this drama, i didn't realize right away that he was the bad guy Sang Shik in Time Between Dog and Wolf. He was great as a villain in that drama too. he's a versatile actor in my opinion.

Oh man, I've seen him in many random things before and loved his character in them all.

Most of all, his poor puppy roles in 9e2o and PK.

Seeing him on the variety show Oh!My School showed me that he had a winning personality too :D

because his character in Playful Kiss is similar to Jon Cryer's role "Duckie" in Pretty in Pink :)

I've never seen him before in a drama except in Playful Kiss. I though he did well with her freaky role there.
You should see his real personality in Oh My School Variety Shows. He has a great sense of humor and I love his witty remarks.

I thought he had great chemistry with Hani in PK on and off screen. He seemed to like her a lot...Jung So Min I mean.

Yeah, he had great chemistry with Jung So Min. In fact, Jung So Min had great chemistry with Lee Tae Sung and Kim Hyun Joong (even though the former can't really act). Loved him as Duckie, PK was a decent drama, more like a Jdrama than a Kdrama per say.

About him liking her, he was her oppa. I saw the BTS, and well, he liked teasing her more about 'SeungJo' than he did about 'JoonGu'.

I love him lots in HFL. Definitely is in the making to be a star if he continues to hone his acting skills by doing more diverse roles. Cute, annoying, playful, evil he's all done before, check. What's next?
