More goofy photos from Poseidon’s beach set

With all the stills coming out these days of KBS’s Poseidon, I may still not have a clear grasp on the tone of the drama, but it sure looks like the set is a fun place to work.

I’m getting a lively, energetic vibe from the behind-the-scenes photos posted here (mixed in with a few new stills), particularly the goofy shots featuring series star Choi Siwon and his coast guard buddies, Park Sung-kwang and Lee Sang-hoon.

It’s also our first look at Lee Shi-young in action, as the sole female officer on the Poseidon team. Can I say that after hearing that Poseidon was initially an elite counterterrorism division in the Eric–Kim Kang-woo version of the drama, I’m tickled that it’s now the unit where Siwon goes to sulk after he’s demoted? Heh. The hotshot-with-attitude-gets-stuck-in-a-dinky-squad premise just sounds so rich with possibility. I want that chip on Siwon’s shoulder to be enormous, just for the fun of seeing it get knocked off.

Then again, if he continues having so much fun with his Poseidon-mates, maybe he’ll adjust quicker than I’m thinking. One on hand: sadness at my wished-for scenario falling flat. On the other hand: bromance potential galore!

Poseidon replaces Myung-wol the Spy on Mondays and Tuesdays and premieres on September 19.

Dunno about the color of boxers. But yes, Siwon is THAT Super Junior guy. The really really hot one who doesn't need military service to warrant a brooding-shower scene.

As a big fan of his, I'm still really embarrassed by that pic. ;) Heechul's pic was the only one I could stand to look at (btw, sad that Hee's gonna be gone soon for his military service).

Looks like a lot of fun on the set! Here's hoping that the writer of this drama fill it with lots of comedy and heart (which mr. writer's previous work, IRIS, didn't seem to have).

actually Heechul WAS the only normal one in that photoshoot, which was a shocker... but I'm glad because Heenim is my bias and he's usually made to wear WTF! styles, so at least in this last album before his military enlistment (thursday :( ) he got the nice smart and fashionable coordi and everyone else got the missing a few screws loose coordis.

With Siwon- I think they just decided that au naturale is the best clothes for him, but because of censors they had to clothe him at least in short short boxers that leave nothing to the imagination really...

Yeah Hee bb... was normal... in the comeback pixs... And Hee going to military... He is my bias too... Hurts gonna miss him like crazy.

Siwon while in his words "I was handed a shorts no bigger than my hand and made to wear"...

I am like huh? Imagine coordi noonas get to rub tan oil on him for that glistening look... or did they phoshop it...

Anyway...

Siwon bb... ur shi-brows! They need a billing of their own...
And the production of this just seems so bright and cheerful, maybe the angst will come from Lee SungJae oppa...

Considering Baywatch was a HUGE international hit (not as big in the States) that would be fine for the show.

But, not for me, either.

I like the vibe of the surrounding characters. My recent favorite group of "guys in the background" was in Secret Garden. They could have had their own series!

Yeah....sulky Siwon will be fun to watch. I imagine his ego wouldn't let him accept his demotion! I wish they have a really good reason for him to go from hotshot to sulky hero. Maybe he is so embarrassed by his demotion he pretends that his past history never exist and denies his skill sets/experiences.

Guess will have to catch Poseidon when it starts!

As far as the tone of the drama - Thank goodness they changed the focus on "counter-terrorism" to something else. Poseidon, please don't do something that just sounds important like that. I was tired of watching Athena because half the time they pretended to talk important stuff but really none of it made sense.

Since none of the posters / BTS pictures seem to hint at that so far, I am glad. Maybe the series will focus on actual day-to-day work / cases done by the coast guards and be intertwined with drama / love story. Just work would be boring yeah? :) Maybe each week (2 episodes) will be focused on a particular case ?

The shooting locations seem to match the previous locations by Poseidon Version 1.0. They must be using the same group of coast guards to train.

Javabeans - I hope you will consider recapping the series. Please! :)

Looking forward to this drama - hopefully it will make a nice adventuring contrast to the angst-filled but wonderful "The Princess Man".

I love Siwon chilling with the fun looking gagman/actor ahjusshis... I'm soo waiting to see how this will go.

Also, random aside, but I wish they called Kim Min Jong to pull a rehash of his character from Athena or something lol. He seems like he'd fit right in :P

I'm looking forward to a "fish-out-of-water" scenario (sorry, cant help it). I think it'd be fun to see Siwon's hilarious facial expressions.

I've never seen anything Choi Siwon has ever been in but I'm excited to see this show just on his looks alone. Even though it looks like Korean Baywatch. I never saw the regular Baywatch.

I feel like Choi Siwon looks so wholesome, like Korea's Poster Child. Or is that spot already taken by Lee Seung Gi?

Well, Seung Gi has that title, but I won't say Siwon's that far from it. Seung Gi and Siwon always top the "ideal sons-in-law" list in Korea. Seung Gi because he's a smart, funny, and a talented singer, actor, and MC. Siwon because he's practically the real-life chaebol heir you see in dramas, except he's super religious, well-mannered, completely gorgeous, and part of an idol group.

looks very fun! he reminds me of bit of daniel henney with his hair short and in some of those funny poses. i swear my full time profession is now watching k dramas non stop. there are so many good ones!
