Han Jung-soo joins the cast of Poseidon

Actor Han Jung-soo, known for being the good-guy second lead in Prosecutor Princess or the hot guy with abs in Chuno, (er…the other one, no the other other one, yeah that one) has been cast in the upcoming maritime police drama Poseidon, opposite Choi Siwon and Lee Shi-young. So… that pretty much seals it, right? Poseidon is an abfest in water? Seriously, it’s a pretty good contest, between the three of them.

He’ll be playing sergeant Oh Min-hyuk, in charge of a special investigations team, and is described as a hip, urbane, and charming guy who disarms people with his witty words. The producers describe the character as 100% in line with Han Jung-soo’s real-life personality, which just makes me laugh. So… they’re exactly the same, only one’s an actor and the other’s a detective in the ocean? Yeah, so similar. I get the charm part, though. Or was I just taken with his Chuno hair?

Is there any chance he’s going to grow it back for this drama? Sigh, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cop with long hair, so I guess he’ll be sporting his Prosecutor hair with his Chuno abs. I suppose it’s a compromise I’m willing to accept.

Poseidon has (finally) begun production (again) and premieres in September following Myung-wol the Spy on KBS.

Seeing as I just spent a full 5 minutes staring at that picture of Han Jung Soo, I think it's safe to say I'll be checking out Poseidon. That and the fact that I love all three leads.

Plus, who would want to miss the abfest?

oh, and last I saw, he still had the mane of glory from King Geunchogo during Dream Team and Happy Together. Can't see it working for a cop, but maybe he's an undercover underwater cop requiring long hair to......well, no matter what I came up with for that it just sounded really really wrong.

I think it'd be better to just remove EVERYTHING. That way he wouldn't need to change into dry clothes after all those swimming/diving scenes....it'd really speed up the filming process.

Still not interested in this drama. The Age gap between the 2 male leads i more like a father and sons chemistry rather than bromance chemistry like Eric & Kim Kang Woo.

And yeah Lee Shi Young could also flash her abs with all the training for boxing previously. Hmm not interested at all.

I was not on board for this dramabut I love him as General Choi in Chuno so with this casting news I'm officially game. Hey, if the drama is maritime, there should be a lot of shirtlessness and ideally lots of ship leaks to keep these actors covered in water? Like a shower scene that extends over the whole drama. That would be cool.

OY....... premiering in september and they just started production (it's already 3rd week of august)... that's reaaaaally cuting it close, isn't it?

sigh...... i hope everything goes well...live-shooting the drama so early in their run is fraught with all kinds of potential disaster... poor editing/ etc, not to mention possible accidents (late night n exhaustion do not mix well)...

@Salt I agree.....they are cutting this very closed....I mean we had over 5 Accidents in July...it was crazyyyy....so I hope we don't get too many here..but since it seems like is going to involved lots of action and water not so sure now..I hope the drama doesn't become total schizophrenic ....but then I'll be too busy drooling watching HJS and Siwon.... :p

Just read on allkpop that Han Ye Seul refused to show up for work / filming and this halted production.

Oh my....oh my....

Now ..wonder what will happen and if Myong Wol can continue the next episodes smoothly.

I wonder how this is going to play out. Myong Woll may end earlier if she continues to refuse to show up for filming. If this is the case, Poseidon's plan to start later in September is now pushed back again??? I hope that KBS has some plan here to deal with the situation and not affect future programming including next week's episodes and Poseidon.

Oooohhhh... AB-FEST. Wow. To think Siwon's abs alone are enough to get fans crazy. Then you add Han Jungsoo.

And isn't that character the one Yunho was originally casted for? Interesting. I presume Siwon now has Eric's role and Han Jungsoo has Yunho's role. I wonder who they'd cast to replace Kim Kangwoo.

I thought I like him more in mawang, rather than in PP. He was so boring in PP. In mawang, he way more alive though he just appear in the first half of the drama.

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I find his features a little distorted or unsymmetrical or just too big. He's just not good looking to me. I know he's supposed to be, but not at all.

Poseidon, to me, is all about Lee Sung Jae. You know, the one among all of them, who's actually an actor.
