Yoon Sang-hyun cast as Choi Ji-woo’s leading man

Oh, what an interesting pairing! Yoon Sang-hyun (Secret Garden) has been cast in dramaland’s most coveted role of late: as Choi Ji-woo‘s leading man in her comeback drama Can’t Lose. Yoon is a big star in his own right, but right now I can only think of how his Secret Garden character Oska spent the entire series shouting, “I’m a Hallyu star!”
He’s one already, but now he’s gunning to join the A-list, if this drama goes well.
Can’t Lose is about a married couple going through divorce, and both of them happen to be lawyers. How much you wanna bet they’re both divorce lawyers and representing themselves? You just KNOW they’re going to be the polar opposite kind of lawyers too, because that’s just how they cut the cookies in kdramaland.
The show is described as warm and light, which means rom-com. Definitely a plus. I wasn’t excited about this drama on Choi Ji-woo’s name alone because I’m always wary of dramas featuring the sad melodrama version of her, but opposite Yoon she’s likely to be much more upbeat and bubbly. I certainly hope that casting Yoon as the leading man means the production is leaning more towards light comedy, because these two could be amazing together with the right tone. Obviously both have strong dramatic chops to carry the divorce story when things go south (er, more south) for the couple, but I’d love to see a twist and have the drama about divorce be funny and fun.
Directing is PD Lee Jae-dong (Thank You) and writing is Lee Sook-jin who wrote the 2006 drama Great Expectations starring Han Ji-min and Kim Jae-won.
Can’t Lose follows You’ve Fallen For Me and premieres in August on MBC.

OOOhhhhh… I am excited about this drama now. I wasn't crazy over his role in Secret Garden, but I liked his performance in My Fair Lady. Would be interesting to see him act in a comparatively more serious role.

CJW is a fave of mine and while I may like YSH.... I wish Choi had a stronger presence/actor playing opposite of her. Of course I'll still watch.

I think the selection of leading man is a correct one. I believe in this drama, CJW's character is an assertive one i.e. very fierce, and Yoon will be constantly bullied by her!!

YSH was hillarious in SG, I think he can pull this drama but not as a main actor.. I just think they should consider another leading man for CJW as her new love interest aside from her ex hubby,hehehe

YSH has been promoted to male lead from supporting actor. Sometimes leads can become supporting style while the supporting will become a lead. All along YSH has been a supporting actor.

Never been a fan of CJW but I'll watch this because of YSH. Ppl said that he doesn't have the x-factor of being a hallyu star but I think, he's proven them wrong in SG. He was hella funny and I can't think of any other actor as Oskar but him. He nailed it down.

i've started liking choi ji woo more after watching 1n2d, she was so adorably bubbly in it.

OMG. Really good news. Can't wait for this drama. I really like yoon sang hyun. He's very charming and wonderful person. I don't like choi ji woo. Please find another women to be a lead role in this drama. Maybe lee yu won or another actress

hahaha.. the leading actress is already confirm first and its Choi Ji woo, so they would never change her role to someone else.. Or I will be get mad, because this is a drama for her, I can see that, since she is the first one who confirm to play in this drama, now we are debating who will be the leading actor. Yoon Sang Hyeon is allrigt, but he is nothing to her famous.. but I really want to watch this drama because of Choi Ji woo and I don't care who will be the leading actor as long as they good in rom com genre..

yeahhh.. Lee yo woon facial expression is like a wooden for sure, so stiff and almost no expression at all for her character, I watch her in Bad Love, I got tired of her expression and didn't end up finishing that drama, and I wanna watch KSW in that drama but because of her i can not go on.. sighhh... and in 49 days too.. thank god the main lady (nam gyo ri) can act very well, and I can watch Jo Hyun Jae and Jung Il Woo so I can pass watched 49 days, love it but hate the ending,hehe.. if only they switch place, Lee yo woon character died and Nam Gyo ri came back to life.. bu we can't expecting too much from a drama right?

Ok, maybe not lee yu won. I just wondering another actress because almost choi ji woo's drama is sad. She crys a lot. And sang hyun drama's is more fun. I just wondering how this drama could be. I watched star lovers and not really like her acting there. But in winter sonata she's good. Hope in this drama she can be more fun and showing her another side. But I love sang hyun, whoever the actress here, I will watch this drama because of him.

Did you guys think that this will be a great drama? I just affraid that this drama not good, because almost sang hyun drama is good. I really want another woman to be a lead actress here. Lee yu won or Maybe kim tae hee. I love her.

i like kim tae hee better than lee yu won. lee yu woon wooden in acting, only 1 facial expression, and not pretty. kim tae hee very beautiful and good in acting too. but this drama is really for choi ji woo. this drama made for her. ysh just a support for cjw because cjw is a higher-level actress.

apparently you haven't watch CJW in 1N2D, she showed her different personality there, so funny and corny at the same time, and she laugh a lot in that show. I love her in that show, really makes me believe she actually can do rom com genre in this drama. CJW I know and I believe you can do it.. because you are the best..

@Mei..because he is wood that you still can comment, if he is fire then you'll turn into ash long time ago.
@sb.. If you don't know why did he become a hallyu star, ask 1) Korean citizens who are enjoying his enormous contribution on their economy started with acting, 2) ask japanese ladies , tell them that you are so relieved from the vanishing of BYJ, they will turn you into smoke not even ash.
BTW did BYJ take any money from you that made you can't stand on him? He never ask you to like him or use your money to watch his drama. It's your own folly. Some people who hate him and criticized, actually bought shares from his company and got profits. Wonderful world!

hahaha someone seems just can't handle it when her idol was questioned.... Roarrr... So scary.....june, u like a personal bodyguard of yoonsama. Haha...well you can't pleased everyone..... Must be pro and contra for this pairing.....
For me, this is the best news i got from this series.... I like choi ji woo.... I think that i will somehow manage to watch her whoever her partner is.... She is gooddd..And Dang!!!! They put YSH !!!!! I'm so going to watch this with full loveee.... Yay!!
I love him since he casted as Tae Bong in queen of housewives, to be truth he was also only second leading man in the story, but as time goes, episodes flies, he tooks the most attention and popularity fr audiences..... I believed Park si hoo roles in queen of reversal was made based on Tae Bong character. For me he is sure can act....his face so manly, charismatic, he got a pair of most expressive eyes and super cute smiles.....and he is not wooden acts....
I don't hv personal prob with yoonsama, wakakaka... But i found him Interesting on hotelier....so so cool.... I love him there....only.

Wow! It's the utmost wish to become yonsama's bodyguard same as everyone who wants to become their fav actor's personal bodyguard, at least online... not just handling but manhandling. ha ha ha.. Either actor or actress, such as CJW, if she is praised, the other feels jealousy and the nearest person to hurl against must be none other than yonsama. You may not have personal problem with yonsama but many have it for countless reasons. E.g., some people invested shares in his company, when they gain and cruising on Bahamas, no voice, when they lose, yonsama became wood or ajumafied or whatever.
Well, you can't please everyone when it comes to one and only famous CJW.
