Lie To Me: Episode 9 Open Thread
by girlfriday
The Lie is finally outed, though to no discernable difference as far as Ah-jung’s frenemy-ship with So-ran is concerned. They even seem to be closer for it, which pretty much solidifies the fact that this is a relationship I will never come to understand. Seriously, can we introduce this girl to other girls who are actually, yunno, NICE? And cool? They exist! They do! I swears it!
Basically The Lie gets replaced by The Denial, wherein Ki-joon and Ah-jung both know that they like each other, but refuse to tell the other. Even with a very dramatic and very unnecessary rescue in the woods to throw them together, she rebuffs his attempts to clear up the misunderstandings that are starting to build. (Now he thinks SHE was just “acting,” despite the fact that she was the one who was constantly asking HIM that very question when they were “married.” Gah.) There’s a lot of pride and hurt feelings to stop them, though it seems the biggest obstacle is Ki-joon’s refusal to clean up his past with That Girl.
He FINALLY says something to her — “I like another woman” — (that took you WAY too long to say, dude) and she clues in to something going on between him and Ah-jung. The problem is that Ah-jung herself has no such luck in reading Ki-joon’s mind, and decides to forge ahead and start going on blind dates as suggested by Dad.
Her heart’s not in it, of course, but no worries. Two big heroes to the rescue… only they’re, um… BROTHERS.
What’s that they say about history being doomed to repeat itself?

My God. Why oh why, Drama? Why! WHY!
I can't believe they had to throw that lost in the forest bit. God. Unbelievable. God. WHY?!
I seriously love the two leads. I was able to sit through all the Take Care of Young Lady episodes, so I'm confident I can finish this series. However, please please please, be better, Drama.
That surprise party for Sang Hee was funny though.

I am a rare LMT fan who is anxiously waiting each week for the next episode.
I am absolutely enjoying the OTP. I love their acting, their antics, their pain, and their kisses. I am not bothered by the details that don’t add up, dialogue that is less than stellar, editing that’s inconsistent. I am just enjoying watching this couple.
This LMT open thread seems to have attracted many viewers who are welcome to critic but in the process make it hard to share our love for this rom-com with all the trolling.
Enjoy “Lie To Me”… it’s only entertainment.

Amen to this! :))
I don't know why but I have this feeling some people are just riding this hate wagon on LTM's plotline. If you haven't watched the show, especially the episode in focus, your criticisms shall never be valid.
I have this love-hate relationship with LTM and actually, thought of dropping it earlier and just follow the other ongoing dramas. But alas, I'm still watching it. Why? Because I'm trying to gauge this drama properly by watching it and then judging it after.
I may not be as keen as most of you guys on analyzing the plotlines of kdramas but I can somewhat tell when a drama's trying to pick up its pace.
P.S. LESSON LEARNED: Being a writer is really one hell of a job. D:

This drama is getting more interesting starting from ep6. Ep9 is actually a good one. But I have to admit that the first few episodes are very weak and illogical.
I started to like KJW especially after ep9. YEH is always my favourite. So I will keep watching this drama.
Relax and enjoy the performance of KJW and YEH plus our cute Park Hoon!

viki is also fast in subbing/sharing LTM. yes, I'm not korean but I do enjoy the kdramas, so with japanese, taiwan, polish, french, spanish, italian and each country or actors approach their stories differently, are very interesting. I honestly think that Lie to Me is entertaining, the early budding emotions, checking for calls, making all random excuses to see the other and so forth. the flaws in editing are hilarious but that makes this drama refreshing.
I'm glad i'm reading more ppl liking LTM and enjoying it. Fighting !!

I like LTM because its easy to watch & enjoy. I don't analyse any drama. If I feel good watching it I look forward to every episode like LIE TO ME. When I don't like a drama, I just drop it because there so many choices. LTM must be really a good choice because I'm one of the many fans buzzing with excitement over the hot OTP of KJW & YEH.
Why watch up to ep 9 if you don't like it. Its like swallowing your own puke! That's a decent thing to do than spilling out stinky gut.

just leave the OT thread to the LTM fans.
accept the fact that a lot of people don't want to think while watching, don't have any standards at all, don't have good taste, don't have good judgment, can't accept criticism and truthful analysis, can't accept witty sarcasm, don't know what to do with a good drama when it's front of them, can't differentiate average/great chemistry, plot, & acting. a lot of people are shallow and become more stubborn if you keep on insisting LTM's not all that. everyone needs delusions now and then so just leave them to it...

too harsh comments "mmm". Simply put how about those who are overly critical of LTM can't accept other ppl comments that they are liking and enjoying this kdrama? so you resort to your hitting below the belt? comments like "a lot of people are shallow" etc... calm down and get off the high horse. don't be too judgemental.
nobody is perfect and so are you !

LOL!
To each his own, as they say.
We cant force our own standards and criteria on other people.
We can, of course, try and share in the best way possible we can why it is good or bad.
Its still up to them to decide if they'll accept.
In the same way that they cannot force us to share their own views if we do not find them acceptable.
In the end, popularity does not always equate to goodness or excellence so it should not matter. As a matter of experience, we know that it is often the reverse.
I like watching LTM for the chemistry and all the buzz its creating....but does not mean Im blind to its faults nor would I be as fanatic as to gouge out another person's eyes if they happen to hate it. I sure would not list it in my top/fave kdramas that's for sure. I would not lose sleep if it suddenly loses popularity, as well. In short, it's not a show that I'd be living for and dying to defend with all Im worth, haha.
So, let the LTM fans squee to their hearts content here...
But, also let the honest criticisms or views be heard as well.
Everyone be given a space in this world to breathe and exhale...without expunging the life from one another.
We need a little R.E.S.P.E.C.T. as the song goes....

Its such a pitty for Yoon Eun Hye to be thus wasted in a drama filled with so much inconsistency!! Even though I watch the episodes every week, most diligently, I feel disappointed every single time. If not for Yoon Eun Hye...I would have dropped this drama a long time back...!! Poor Her, and Kang Ji-Hwan! They deserve better roles in Better Dramas...! But i must admit, I enjoyed the music in this drama ALOT...so far! Does anybody know where i can get all of those soundtracks for download!?

Did anyone else pick up on the fact that the soundtrack changed? I was kind of getting to like that song by the girl from 4minute, you know the one that played when Ah-Jung was basically in trouble, lol.
