Lie To Me: Episode 14 Open Thread

EPISODE 14 WEECAP

Ah-jung cops to the lie, is ushered away, drops her phone. Ergo, Ki-joon can’t contact her.

Aunt tells Ki-joon what happened, and he flips out.

Broody flashback montage time!

Why does Ah-jung’s phone still call Ki-joon “Mr. Hyun”?

Ah-jung gets called a gold-digger by the press. Also: Press conference by day, newspaper headline by evening? And here I thought the internet was supposed to be the speedy medium.

Ki-joon finds her near “their” spot.

Does Ah-jung cry in every episode?

Dad comforts her by saying Ki-joon seems like a decent guy…because he drinks better than him. Coming from Dad, that’s quite the concession.

When did Ah-jung’s petty boss become an awesomely supportive boss?

The assemblyman who’d treated her well in the past calls her for an explanation, threatening her with disciplinary action.

World Hotel stocks fall.

Now Aunt likes Ah-jung. She still wants Ki-joon to have nothing to do with her, of course. But she approves of her, in a generic, not-my-future-niece-in-law way.

So-ran is super-sympathetic, telling Ah-jung that her man is hiding behind her skirts. And takes credit for getting the couple together, since it was because of her that Ah-jung lied. That’s quite a knack for making lemons of lemonade that So-ran has.

Manager Park gets all hardass on Ki-joon, telling him he’s responsible for thousands of jobs. Basically, he’d better keep hiding behind that woman: “I learned it from you — to live that way in order to survive.” Or, quit this job, because otherwise he doesn’t have a right to it.

Ki-joon throws things.

Sang-hee is back to his funny, goofy self. Gah, why couldn’t you be like this the whole time, instead of falling into that mopey I-fell-for-Ah-jung bit?

Ki-joon holds Ah-jung’s hand in public and screams, “I love this woman!”

The video gets uploaded to the internet. Yoon-ju, as well as everyone and their mother, sees it.

Now Manager Park feels sorry for what she said and respects Ki-joon for his love. O…kay.

Ki-joon calls Manager Park out for drinks, as friend to friend. He says he likes Ah-jung for living with her feelings instead of her brain, which I think is supposed to sound romantic-er than that, and Manager Park tells him to try that out this time.

Ah-jung doesn’t like dating where they’ll be recognized, so he zips them up in hoodies and takes her for a hike…where they’re recognized by ajummas anyway.

Stockholders meet to oust Ki-joon. Thankfully, Ki-joon is saved by a last-minute decision by Chen to accept his revised proposal.

On the other hand, Ah-jung’s job is on the line. She’s taken before a disciplinary panel, who will tell her their decision soon.

Ki-joon apologizes to her father. Dad is proud of them both for showing people that their love is great enough to get them to throw everything else away.

Drinky time again!

…leads to drunk sorta-not-really proposal. “Be mine.”

Chairman Chen likes Ki-joon again, after seeing the latest news about his romance with Ah-jung.

Ki-joon takes her to a party, per Chen’s wife’s wishes, who hugs her in a maternal gesture. And lo and behold, suddenly Ah-jung understands Chinese?

Auntie is pi-issssed to see Ah-jung here.

Nosy reporter asks Ah-jung how it feels to become Cinderella. Ki-joon asks, “Shouldn’t you ask me that? Since she’s the one who made me into a prince.”

Ah-jung gets the call: She’s fired.

She hurries out, trips, drags down a tablecloth, sends an ice sculpture crashing to the ground, and bursts into tears in front of the entire party. Girl’s having a REAL bad day.

She runs out barefoot, and Ki-joon chases her out.

Weecaps FTW!

Thank you for this :)

I think Kang Ji Hwan is better looking in motion than in pictures. To be honest he is not really photogenic.

I agree wholeheartedly!!! I have been questioning myself for a time, why do I find him attractive when almost all of his pics he looks quite ugly...perhaps you have just answered my question! I find him adorable, in a cute-yet-sexy way, but he's not hot. At all...

And still, I love him! :)

LTM is a romantic/comedy which means it should have some romance and a few laugh's, that's it, nothing more nothing less. For me it does that.

pls dont talk of ripley here- both dramas have their own followers and thread. The script no matter how anyone tries to defend it- sucks. But i love both the leads too much and their chemistry is so good- literally watch it for them and only waits to zero in for more ah joong-ki joon moments.

awww. This drama went downhill fast. I'm just dropping by cause I'm a real Yoon Hye fan. But this is no where good a drama comeback for her.

Probably the best part of this episode is that Cinderella part. It was so sweet. xD

I seriously don't think there's much plot, if there is any, on that being fired thing. It's not like the "end-of-the-world-or-my-world" kind of conflict.

I just srsly love that Cinderella part. awww.

Am I the only one who find YEH's feet really weird? No need to zoom into them, please. They're not pretty :P
(That said, I have some issues with other people's foot, so maybe it's that issue speaking!)

I was sad about the fact that i was looking forward to see YEH in a drama. ..her talent is shown and that is great if u think about how badly written its been. But is totally incredible for me the chemistry between them even when they just look at eachother and the kisses are just something else...I still watch it...I hope she gets a great project next time....fightiiiinggg

I understand how people feel about the show lacking a great deal in plot but I think the alternate way of looking at Lie To Me is that it is a "Character Driven Show"... the plot is merely background fading in the distance. It's about these two characters, their world, and their interactions with others. I resolved long ago that this wasn't going to be Sam Soon or 49 Days or whatever other drama you deem majorily fantastic in the sense of having so many great points beyond the characters. The things that shine are the leads (and a few of the supporting players). Palpable love, romance - I see it in this drama. It's not all chaste and dodgy as other dramas - where you see people touch lips with no feeling Good example - Playful Kiss. It really had a rather less than meaty plot and as much as I love Kim Hyun Joong - the dood is way too stoic and unrelenting. The romance is not as exciting as Yoon and Kang. Smoldering and beautiful, real stand up love. I appreciate the honesty of their love and their interactions and how they change each other. This is how I feel and while I respect everyone's thoughts - I am not changing my mind. I like the drama despite it's faults.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. After seeing so many dramas, how can people expect originality from plots. I simply enjoy the show because it has its cutesy comedic moments and romance.....OMG, the two leads exudes so much physical attraction in the show that makes me keep reviewing the show over and over again!!!! I know that some people call this lust, such an ugly name for it. Sorry to say but from my experience, romance without lust is simply a fantasy notion that will not stand the test of time.
YEH & KJW, I hope the two will be in other shows together again. You are great together.

It is obvious that there is a nonexistent plot, that the script sucks and that the actors talent is being wasted so what. I think people had SUPER high expectations, not everything is perfect and things not always end up the way we want them to. However they are so many aspects in this drama that I love, in my opinion the costumes are just awesome, they fit the characters and they are just so pretty to look at. The locations and the set where they shoot are gorgeous too. I love Ki-joon’s office and the cherry blossom scene and what can I say about the actors I like them all and they are also pretty to look at (Ki-joon)!! I could just go on and on about things I like but I think I made my point look on the bright side and watch it without judging it!! Again that’s what I think.

I am still glue to the show and can't wait for Monday and Tuesday to come. I don't want it to end because I ENJOY watching this show, no matter what people say about it. This has been my escape from reality and it has lived up to its expectation thus far. If by dissecting the plot points and the writing of the script and the character development help you enjoying the show, so be it. I guess I am a novice at this, but I watch simply for entertainment and if a show that makes me wanting to watch and re-watching for the 10th times, it tells me that it has touched my heart. Although I did not enjoy the last sceene in ep 14 when GAJ ran out of the room, stumbling, crying and feeling humiliated, I feel that this is the turning point where HKJ will have to decide to make her his in front of his aunt and those who matters.

I think the conflicts and problems are more interesting compared to the episodes with the last writer....

about the resignation versus dismissal of GAJ..I think the writer should have written like GAJ being suspended because her case is being investigated so the impact of getting fired is much more related on the previous events.

it could have been better if the conflicts/problems are based on corporate world and involvement of government about approval of projects, corruption, connivance..the story could have a more mature approach that fits the main characters....rather than the conflict of reconciliation with ex-gf from overseas and cannot let go of the past...it's too teenager ^_^

to those who are not watching anymore...try watching the last 2 episodes...the 'filler' 'unrelated' scenes are lesser than usual so it will not be too boring to watch...there are more GAJ and HGJ sweet and funny scenes together

I think it's a good drama cause of the chemistry between YEH and KJH, they're so cute! Especially when he acts drunk aha. And personally, I don't think the plot is that bad either. Typical, but not that bad.

The phrase 'To each there own' works perfect here. Everyone has different opinions about which drama of the season is best. LTM though not without weaknesses, is still a pretty good drama. The plot isn't too brilliant, but hey I think for this show that's the point. The chemistry between the two leads is what people are watching for in a drama like this, and I like them together its cute!

If you want to watch one with more of a story then go watch City Hunter. Oo its AMAZING!! And Lee Min Ho is totally hot, he just makes the drama even better, which is hard to do with such a complex, but heartstopping plot!! But he does that, acts as a total player, exacts revenge, and makes all that look easy!!

ive managed to stay afloat fr start till epi 14...but not without stopping halfway thru each epis to bang my head against da wall...i shud hv left my brains to chill in da fridge jus to get ovr each epi!...there are lots of 'WTH' going on here...it simply taxes one's intelligence!! so i took someone's advice n watch jus for da leads since im a fan of both n disregarded da stupid script...but all da while im taking aim at da writer n director with my bazooka! its sheer torture to see da amateurish non-plot, da shallow need to lie in da first premise; jus to one up on ah jung's friend?...looks like da writer is a rookie...so is da director, in my opinion!! n why am i still watching such a dumb drama? its bcuz i find it unbelievable dat da managers of KJH n YEH hv failed their clients miserably by participating in dis hot mess of a drama! im still watching jus in case there is a flicker of hope lingering somewhere in between now n da final epi!
