Lie To Me: Episode 11 Open Thread

Greetings once again from the North Pole! The girls forwarded all your requests for me to make another guest appearance, so here I am, back by popular demand (well, that and a barrel of rye, but if my Tax Elf asks, that was just a “gift”).
Gosh, I haven’t recapped since my episode of Bad Guy. Hope my sharp skills of deduction haven’t gotten rusty. I sure loved bragging to all the elves about all the fan mail I got. They’re way better than the usual Dear Santa fare. Some of them even had curse words! Ho ho ho!
Also, I’d like to personally thank those of you who gave me legal advice on the reindeer union strike of 2010. We finally reached a settlement, and though I mostly had to employ the people at FedEx to get presents delivered, I finally finished by Memorial Day. If you still haven’t gotten your present, either (1) the incompetent, sorry excuse for reindeer at FedEx lost your package; or (2) you’re naughty.
You know which one you are.
EPISODE 11 WEECAP
Ah-jung tells the Big Wigs that they’re married.
Ki-joon tells them that they’re not.
Get your story straight, people.
Ki-joon tears up the contract and yells that they’re starting over, no lies this time.
Yeah, this would’ve been awesome had it come six episodes ago.
So-ran scares Jae-bum into thinking she’s going to off herself.
She’s really hiding away in Jeju, and Ah-jung conveniently has to go there for work.
Ki-joon follows her there, deigning to go by boat rather than private helicopter.
He basically does her job for her, since he’s a VVVVVVIP and she is not.
So-ran pretends to die, because that’s apparently acceptable behavior for a grown woman.
Ah-jung saves her hide by making a really really long metaphor about how Jeju is Mom, because of abalone, and I don’t see how this is going to work, but somehow it does, because Ki-joon miraculously translates her extended metaphor into three languages at the same time, and everyone has a mother but her. Or something.
They celebrate with an awkwardly lavish dinner, and then finally apologize and confess their Twu Wuv.
They kiss and Ki-joon promises to take it slow and only look at her.
Then the girl who doesn’t take a hint sees it all. Well, that takes care of that, eh?

If this would have come six episode ago, it would be a good drama. I'm so tired of reading how long the lie lasted in "THIS" drama. It lasted about the same amount of time that all fake relationship base drama. Full house, My lovery Sam-soom, My girl and the list can go on forever. The drama is call Lie To Me, not make a whole another storyline out of me....Thanks for the recap nice and short..

Ahhh - this is a Win-Win recap!
They say that one picture is worth a thousand words and less is better than more.
Santa brought it home - a recap cut to the bone and just as tasty, although it didn't help that at one point in the snark the Diet Coke I was swigging went down the wrong pipe due to the explosive laugh I had........
This is the kind of recap I'd like to see for those kdramas that aren't QUITE making it (MANNY, I'm talking to you!).
Thanks, Santa - I'll take this recap with a big, red bow on it and call it even for a late (read: nonexistent) present!

does it end with someone beating sense and maturity into every single character, then busting a chemistry set all over Manny and Ahjumma's heads (since that's the only way they'll have any?) Because if not, I wasted the 10 hours I spend watching it before I finally gave up. Honestly, I didn't totally hate it (except that spoiled brat of a daughter and whiny mother of hers), but it was just so colossally "meh" that I'm not even slightly curious how it ends- and I'm someone who reads the plot synopsis for an entire book series if I found the first book tolerable, but not worth continuing. I HAVE to know how things end. except Manny.

Yes, It is perfectly possible to love something and yet acknowledge its undesirability to others. I really enjoy Lie To Me, but seeing it mocked is still pretty fun.
But, of course, fandom is a fierce thing (just try questioning anything about Twilight to its fanazis. *and I did like twilight, but even as a fan, trying to suggest Edward is controlling pretty much got me decapitated.)

As Dramabeans official Yoon Eun Hye #1, all I can say is that I hate “Lie To Me,”!!!!!!!
The most important aspect of a drama/movie has to do with the sense of “Logic.” and all I can say is that Lie To Me has everything that one can expect of an excellent drama except logic...AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
What in the hell (WTF) is the writer doing?
1- Mother Jeju metaphor!!! Lame....
2- Younger brother “Manic Depression,” Lame....
3- Second lead female “Psycho Bitch,” Lame...
4- Threesome translation... Lame...
5- Male lead has been an absolute “Ass,” and now is prince charming....Lame...
Man! I can go on and on about how idiotic this show has become, but I do not think its going to change the pace/story line at all....
Do I still think that Yoon Eun Hye is the best Korean actress?
Yes I do but I am heartbroken about LTM..... Another Mary Stay Out All Night in the making.......What a waste of talent!!!!

Amg1 - I'm with you, this drama is totally a waste of YEH and KJH. I blame the writer. Although, I don't know what explains my addiction to this drama. I guess it's my love for YEH, my imagination for the KJH-YEH Couple that keeps me going full speed ahead. To me, YEH will always be all that and a bag of chips. Now with Cola on the side! =D

It was funny to watch Ki-joon moving his lips but the only one you could hear was Ah-jung.
And I think he only translated in Japanese, but everyone understood. So why did he translate in each other language before if everybody knows japanese?
Why every time they speak English in a drama, they do it slowly?

I like this episode mostly because we had the funny and nice Ki-joon. And Ki-joon and Hoon singing? I was in drama heaven. I laughed and laughed when he was offering beverages to her and when he was doing Lip-sync, and in the room when he got close to her in the window.
The ending, well, it was cute. I think that for the ones that love this OTP it was THE BEST. Maybe. She has a nice dress and the other girl watching, again, It wont be useful, at all. She won't get it yet.
I thought that this was a funny episode until I arrived here and read Santa's weecap. My stomach is hurting. I laughed out loud, but it was very very loud. I loved this weecap more than I love Hoon. Maybe its a tie.
Santa, you are awesome. I didn't get presents for you (that means I'm naughty?) but this weecap is a good late present.

As for Lie To Me? I'm loving these weecaps because they make the series a bit more interesting than it probably really is. I wonder how they're going to fill up the last remaining 5 episodes. Maybe jilted girl will pull a "Soran" on us. XD

ok - i really liked this ep cuz AJ and KJ are moving on with being a real couple! i don't watch this kind of dramas with obvious story lines normally but for some reason i can't stop watching it! i think i watch it for the main actors - theyre really cute together!

I'm bot buying the romance. I kind of feel sorry for the other girl. Romantic and all for the main couple but if this was real life and I was the-girl-that-can't-take-the-hint, I'd be pretty choked. The guy romantically proposes to her ,then gives her up for his baby brother (Pretty immature thing to do ,unless it's a Korean drama , if I may add.) . So ki hoon dramatically cries in the dark convincingly showing us his heart breaking into 10000000000 pieces through some mad acting skills. Then he continues to confuse us with what seemed to be lingering feelings inn ep1-4 as he starts to make VERY FEW memories with the leading actress. Ion how he even fell in love with her through his minimal screen time memories with her but I guess somehow they're madly in love. ....yah... I'm not really buying the emotions of this drama ..... Is it just me?

I'm glad that I'm not the only one feeling sorry for the other girl, especially with how KJ broke up with her all those years ago because lil bro couldn't get what he wanted. For years, she must be going "ARE YOU FOR REAL?!!" every single day.
And in the end, KJ lost SH anyways to SH's wandering ways. They were in love enough to plan to get married. Being suddenly dropped like that probably even warped her a bit. If the actress was more charismatic and her parts better written, I could almost see such a character in such a situation as the heroine of another drama (with some adorable guy on the side weaning her off that guy who let her go).

Omg. I soooo feel for the girl. because i got dumped for a similar reason. "Are you for real?" was what's going on in my head for days just because of the shock. In the end, I don't even know if he really dumped me for that very reason, or he's just using that other person as an excuse to get rid of me. It's a bully!
