Hooray For Love loses another actor
by javabeans
First Jae Hee, and now Jung Seok-won? Eep, MBC’s Hooray For Love is bleeding actors.
Not long ago, Jae Hee announced his departure from the upcoming weekend series due to an injury to his back, sustained during windsurfing practice for the role. Now the man playing his would-have-been love rival, Jung Seok-won, has opted out of the production citing differences with the production in his interpretation of the character. According to his management, after receiving the drama script, it turned out that the role of Lee Bo-young’s late-twenties ex-husband isn’t what he’d thought he signed up for. (Given that he’d signed on knowing that he’d be playing a loser and adulterer makes me wonder what could have cropped up to make that seem worse, enough that he’d want to walk away.)
It’s not such a huge deal that an actor would leave a production that hasn’t started filming yet, but given Jae Hee’s recent exit, the wheels of doubt are starting to turn in my head… Now I can’t shake the (entirely unfounded) suspicion that perhaps Jae Hee also wanted out, and had a convenient reason to leave when he was injured…
It also makes me skeptical of the fate of Hooray For Love, which is now on the hunt for two replacements, which it’ll have to secure quickly in order to make its July premiere date (it follows Do You Hear My Heart?). Oh well. It’s not like I’m in need of more dramas to watch! One less show to stress about.

After loving Jung Seok-won's character in Dr. Champ, I was really looking forward to seeing him play a bigger role in another drama... But honestly, I wasn't really excited to see him playing a "loser and adulterer." I'd rather see him get his big break as a character I can love!

They already found Lee Tae Sung as lead. At least, he gets his first lead role. I love him but he's so underrated.:( I don't think i will be watching this either. Even if he's in there.

Really?! Lee Tae Sung...........?
Well, this does increase my chances of watching this drama. But Lee Bo Young and Lee Tae Sung? Dunno.

When I first heard the news of Jae Hee leaving due to the injury, I immediately questioned if he was using it as an out like how Dokko Jin in Greatest Love used his 'leg injury.'
lulz Ohhhh dramaaaa

NOOO!!!
I don't want duckie Taesung to take the role. ;~~~;
I love him, and I personally don't want him to play as some "loser and adulterer." *sigh*
If it's true about the last 2 actors wanting out from the production, I hope that Taesung will run away from it as fast as he can.

Taesung is not playing the ex-husband "loser and adulterer." He's taking over Jae Hee's role as the playboy-lawyer-hero.

Oh...
Woops! My bad, teehee.
Don't know if being a playboy is any better though, but I suppose I am a bit more relieved.

Hmm... I'm not sure about him in that role.
Does anyone remember that drama that he was in where they ran a matchmaking company? Lee TaeSung was the lead in that as well and he looked MIGHTY fine :D
The drama, however, was below average. It was one of those "fresh character a day" ones... it started out fun but lagged toward the end.
I hope he lucks out with this one though!

haha, that actually makes news of Jae Hee's injury and departure a bit easier to bare. I'm going to just tell myself he wanted out, and look forward to his next project even more. :)

Lee Tae Sung replacing Jae Hee?!
I wonder if these folks have a clear clue about the leading man's character? Or second lead for that matter.
As much as I love my DUCKIE I just can't picture him as a lead - particularly opposite Bo-Young.
Oh well. Maybe they'll surprise everyone and pull off a decent drama?

Lee Tae Sung to replace Jae Hee??! Squeeeee!!
I agree with Danna that he is really a winning actor he was the only reason I tried to bear mischievous kiss and I felt really bad when I couldn't continue because of the male lead-he of the worst perm ever made ( ̄▽ ̄) but now that he has a new show, I'll be rooting for that!
@Cynthia: the allusion to Duckie fits him to a T\(^o^)/

I really think you are taking this too far this junk suk who has never been lead before suddenly thinks he is too important to play the bad guy he is afraid to damage his image !!! there is no reason why jae hee would want to invent a reason to get out of the first role he has BEEN offered cause I am telling he has been offered none before this one the drama already has a lead and since its a light dramas they dont need someone who is so talented anyway and they will find a second lead in no time

Er, Seok-won obviously knew he signed up to play the cheating dirt bag husband, and he cited leaving the drama for differing interpretations of the character. Perhaps they wanted him to delve into territory he wasn't comfortable with? I'd rather an actor work in a production that he was completely at ease in.
And JB is speculating about Jae Hee. It's not fact. It's speculation.

Hmm. I'm a bit weary of this drama now.
I feel like something odd is going on backstage. Losing one actor is understandable, but two? This close to the air date (five weeks!)? Strange. Very strange.

This makes things seem highly suspicious...but if this means that Jae Hee isn't as injured as it was originally made out to be then yay.

I just looked at those new stills and I'm thinking I may have to readjust my original knee-jerk, negative reaction regarding our sweet DUCKIE.
If this is a rom/com and it's skewing to farce, then the husband's role must be leaning to the IDIOT side. And if that's accurate, then DUCKIE is our man! He can really bring on the sweet, well-intentioned numb-nut.
Those few stills give me a new take on this one.
What?! So I'm easy like that.......
