Lie To Me: Episode 6

Aaaack, this drama is so sadistic – I feel like a yo-yo. Ninety-nine percent of the time, I’m just watching super passively, because there’s nothing that happens that’s unexpected or new. We just keep circling one plot point over and over again, in slightly different iterations. But then one thing happens to jerk me back in, and I’m Kang-Ji-hwan-toast. A total goner. Gah.

EPISODE 6 RECAP

Ah-jung freaks out that her friends want her to have a housewarming and invite them over. So you purposely baited your friends with this ginormous lie, and then expected them to drop interest at a moment’s notice? Logic is not thy strong suit.

She heads straight to Ki-joon’s house, to try and persuade him to let her borrow his house for an evening. She promises that it’ll be like she was never there, and bats her eyelashes at him, to no avail. His idea of the contract was to do nothing, and he meant it. She leaves, deflated.

She meets Sang-hee the next day and returns the ring dejectedly, and tells him about her new dilemma. He laughs, “Is that all?” and flashes the ring at her, reminding her that he’s the fairy godmother. He promises to help her, and she brightens up again.

Auntie President meanwhile gets photographic evidence that Ki-joon’s marriage rumor might in fact be true… which obviously does not bode well for Ah-jung. But when Yoon-ju shows up to announce her return, she decides to just keep watch over the Ah-jung situation.

Sang-hee takes Ah-jung to his aunt’s mansion and tells her that this is where she’ll have her housewarming. What the? Isn’t that a hell of a lot riskier than sneaking into Ki-joon’s house? He doesn’t seem to think so, since his aunt goes to Jeju every weekend, like clockwork. How much you wanna bet something keeps her in town this week?

Ah-jung thinks he’s delusional, and says that she can’t tell the difference between when he’s kidding and not. Heh. He swears he’s telling the truth, despite the fact that he is in fact LYING… well, omitting the fact that the reason he knows people who work there is because he is the young master of le grande estate.

She thinks he’s bluffing, so she pushes him out of the car in exasperation and returns to work… where she sees So-ran in the lobby, apparently waiting to run into her. She finally caves and calls Sang-hee to ask if he was serious, and tells him Operation: Housewarming is a go.

She can’t resist the urge to rub it in Ki-joon’s face, and finds him while he’s jogging in the park. She gets the jump on his nerves, and he falls backwards into a bush at her arrival. Pffft. I kind of like his fear of her.

She tells him that she doesn’t need his house anymore, and that there’s no reason for them to ever see each other again, so that’s that. Riiiiiiight. I’d prefer it if there was no reason to ever see him in his neon workout gear ever again, but that’s just me.

Ki-joon returns to work to find his aunt waiting for him, and she asks if he’s been waiting for Yoon-ju all this time. He says no, but he does hesitate, because clearly his feelings are not as settled as he would like them to be.

His aunt breathes a sigh of relief, admitting that while she does like Yoon-ju and can find no fault with her, she’s of the same mind that she was three years ago: Yoon-ju cannot replace Sang-hee. Meaning of course that they are not a one-to-one trade, and that no girl is worth his brother. He agrees and puts her mind at ease.

While I don’t think that he’s actually worked out his residual feelings for her, I don’t think he’s going to waver on the Sang-hee issue, because clearly he never would’ve broken off the engagement in the first place if he didn’t mean to stick by it.

She’s not making it easy either, by taking up work in one of his department stores. They greet each other awkwardly, pretending to meet for the first time in front of other employees.

Ah-jung stops by the bench where she and Ki-joon had their almost-kiss, and smiles to herself as she watches the cherry blossoms fall. How cute. I really wish the drama did more of this (actual development of feelings) than new and unimproved ways to perpetuate The Lie. ‘Cause yeah… we geddit.

Ki-joon’s secretary takes him out to lunch to Ah-jung’s favorite coffee shop, where OF COURSE, they run into Jae-bum. Does this guy just go from café to movie theater to hotel, just waiting to run into people he knows? No wonder he’s a lawyer with no clients. He’s never at work!

They exchange hellos, and Jae-bum recognizes the secretary right away. It’s a good thing he’s not too bright though, because he doesn’t put two and two together about the “friend” who needed legal advice on how to sue the woman pretending to be his wife.

Once Ki-joon sits down, his secretary tells him that Jae-bum is Ah-jung’s first love, and his instant reflex is an angry “WHAT?” Heh. He then orders a fair trade coffee, per Ah-jung’s choice, the last time they were here.

The secretary fills Ki-joon in on Ah-jung’s backstory with Jae-bum, and adds his own sympathy for her situation. Ki-joon just thinks that her pride was hurt, but his assistant counters that that’s what a woman’s pride is – never wanting to lose, even if the world is falling down around them. I disagree that it’s gender-specific, but based on Ah-jung’s crazy antics, he’s not wrong.

Ah-jung gets excited in planning her fancy menu for the housewarming, and entreats Seok-bong to help her prepare the food. Sang-hee comes over with bad news though—his aunt had a change of plans and now that house is unavailable. Ah-jung has a fit and leaves.

At the same time, Ki-joon looks around his empty house and starts to feel bad about turning her down so coldly. So he has a change of heart and drives to her neighborhood and calls her to come out…

But as he leaves his message, he hears his brother’s voice. He looks in his rearview mirror and there’s Sang-hee… walking along and joking with Ah-jung. Ruh-roh.

Ki-joon gets out of the car, and Ah-jung is surprised to see him, but not nearly as surprised as Sang-hee is, who just ekes out, “Hyung…” with a panicked look on his face.

Ah-jung reads the tension in the air and then looks back and forth between them. “Hyung?”

Ki-joon breaks his silence with a laugh full of disbelief and scorn, and gets in his car and drives away before Sang-hee can stop him. He turns around only to be met with anger on Ah-jung’s side too, as she kicks him and walks away in a huff.

Dude, that’s what you get for playing fairy godmother when you’re really prince charming’s baby brother.

The next morning he tries to do damage control with Big Bro, to no avail. He asks to let Ah-jung borrow the house for just one day, and adds that she had no idea that they were brothers. Ki-joon naturally doesn’t believe him, and asks why he’s doing any of this at all. Sang-hee: “Because it’s fun.”

The troublemaker gets his own dose of reality though, when he returns to Seok-bong’s studio to find Yoon-ju there. He lights up at the sight of her, but then quickly hides, unable to face her.

He watches her leave, still totally heartbroken and an angsty little puppy dog over her.

Ah-jung goes to Ki-joon’s house and has a massive debate… with herself, about whether or not to ask for his help. She decides against it and walks off yammering to herself, which Ki-joon’s assistant sees on his way in.

He mentions it to Ki-joon, who pretends not to care… but then immediately picks up his phone to check if she called. Aw. She didn’t, which confuses him, so he texts her to ask how the preparation for the housewarming is going.

She thinks he’s just messing with her on purpose, so she ignores his call, which just makes him even antsier. I love it that he’s like, I’m not interested, nope! All the while checking his phone every five seconds.

He finally calls her, and when he shows up to meet her, she’s in the middle of looking at an apartment for sale. Her plan is to somehow rent this place for a day and fill it with rental furniture, and pass it off as their home… which is just looney tunes. But clearly she’s that desperate, beyond the point of reason.

He asks if it’s really worth all of this, just because her friend stole her first love. But she turns to him and asks if his pride has ever been trampled. “Then don’t talk about things you don’t understand. The method may be wrong. I know that. But I can’t get married because of So-ran.”

That… doesn’t make sense either. But then, Logic seems to have no place in Ah-jung’s world. When Ah-jung asks the realtor if they can test-live the apartment for a day, they get scooted out of there like a couple of stray dogs.

Looks like her pride extends to him too, because though he keeps baiting her to ask him for his house, she refuses to. She says she’s got one last ditch super-secret plan: cut to her consulting a hypnotherapist (HA) for how to convince someone to borrow their house for a day. Apparently, as it is against the law, he can’t help her.

She trudges back home defeated, and finds Sang-hee waiting around for her. He smiles sheepishly at her, and she realizes all the times that she could’ve picked up on the clues, but didn’t, and chastises herself for being an idiot.

He apologizes to her and asks if she’s going to hit him again, but she’s cool about it, which impresses him. She’s decided to just come clean to So-ran tomorrow about the whole thing, and he wonders if it’ll be okay. Her answer is a resounding NO, but what can she do, short of setting Ki-joon’s house on fire?

Sang-hee smiles devilishly, and then we cut to the both of them in ninja outfits, setting Ki-joon’s house ablaze. What in the cosmos? This had better be some deluded fantasy sequence, or I’m breaking up with Show RIGHT NOW.

Ki-joon gasps for air as he wakes up to his house ablaze, and then collapses choking. Ah-jung and Sang-hee run away gleefully… and then Ki-joon wakes up, startled from his crazy nightmare. Oy.

Well the nutty nightmare is enough to persuade him that he ought to just give in and let her use the house, so he comes by to give her the key and the lockcode in the morning. She promises to treat the house like her own so that he won’t regret it. Ki-joon: “I already regret it.” Heh.

She starts putting her things throughout the house (which hadn’t even occurred to me until now – she has to make it look like she lives there) and Sang-hee helps her set everything up. He even borrowed the contents of his friend’s closet and had it brought over, knowing that her friends will want to check out her closet first thing.

She squees in delight and hugs him, giving him back his fairy godmother title. Dude, Sang-hee… how are you the only one who does not see history repeating itself here?

So-ran gets ready, and Jae-bum stalls, trying to come up with an excuse not to go so that he doesn’t have to face Ah-jung. So-ran calls his bluff and says that she doesn’t care what he does, but he’d better play the happy couple with her in front of Ah-jung. Sad, really.

Meanwhile, Ki-joon goes out to the movies… with his secretary (heh), who happens to like melodramas (HA). He refuses at first, but a pathetic pout is enough to do him in. He gets a call from Yoon-ju who invites him over for dinner, and so he heads over there…

The doorbells ring at two houses simultaneously – Yoon-ju goes to the door fully expecting Ki-joon, but then looks up and sees Sang-hee smiling back at her. Ah-jung opens the door, and there stands Ki-joon, having chosen to be here instead. Aw.

She’s like, what… are you doing here, and he just answers cheekily that it’s his house. And then he greets their guests at the door, completely flooring all her friends. He totally acts the part of the adoring husband, which actually scares Ah-jung because it’s so out of character.

Under her breath, she mutters, “Why are you doing this? It’s making me nervous.” And he tells her that they’re putting on a play, and this is the stage. And then he starts shaking his hips while calling everyone to the dinner table, which makes ME nervous. Heh.

He feeds her adoringly and her friends praise her cooking, at which Jae-bum chimes in that Ah-jung’s a really good cook, and that she started learning housework at a young age, because her mother died young.

That quiets the room for a while, and Ki-joon looks over Ah-jung with empathy, seeing her differently for a moment, off in his own world.

The whole situation starts to make her uncomfortable, so she runs into the bathroom for a moment, which Jae-bum uses as his chance to follow her in and beg her not to spill the beans to So-ran about his affair.

She agrees uncomfortably, and they come out of the bathroom together… where Ki-joon is standing there waiting. Um, awkward. He gently tells her that her friends and waiting, and leads Ah-jung away by the hand.

It turns even more awkward when all three of them return to the party like that, and Jae-bum makes the mistake of sitting down on the couch next to Ah-jung instead of his own wife. He tries to break awkwardness by requesting a song from Ki-joon.

Ah-jung gets up and says she’ll sing by herself to break the tension, but then to her surprise, Ki-joon gets up and says they’ll sing together. They pick a song and start out awkwardly, standing five feet apart, but then her friend pushes them together and they start getting into the song.

Ki-joon starts to look at Ah-jung as she sings, and his eyes lock with hers. They stop singing, and then he drops his mic, and pulls her toward him…

He grabs her in a kiss, and then there they are, full-on making out like no one else is in the room.

Goddamnit. Total swoon.

COMMENTS

This drama is a lot like Pasta. I love the leads and their chemistry is sizzling, and yet… nothing ever happens. There’s very little forward momentum in dramas like these, where you just have the same plot point being reinforced over and over and over, with very little change. Even the supposedly big reveal of the brothers being brothers is… totally anticlimactic. The problem is, I like the couple and I’m invested in them working out in the end. But the lie is already getting tiresome.

When the couple is together, it’s cute cute cute, but when they’re not, it’s boring boring boring. And I really wish the brothers spent more time together onscreen, while we’re at it. How can a drama with such cute highs have such dull lows? (For instance, forty minutes spent getting the house, despite the fact that we all KNEW she’d get to use his house. ‘Cause duh.)

There’s so much potential for the setup, if the plot would just leave the goddamn station. I think if we were still earlier on in the series, I’d be more forgiving (which I was, more than usual for the first two weeks, just because I love both Yoon Eun-hye and Kang Ji-hwan). But now I’m antsy for MORE.

That said, the kiss did surprise me, even if it’s a little weird that it happens in front of other people, and IF the drama actually builds on their relationship from here on out instead of heading back to square one, I’m in like flynn. But I don’t trust it to. I feel like we’re headed back to Denial Land, which is going to make me angry…

Oh, the woes of dramas that don’t do what I tell them. If he wasn’t such a good kisser, I’d already have kissed Show goodbye. For now I’m just rewinding…

So just a heads up: we’re still up in the air about whether or not to continue recapping this drama, so fair warning that there’s a possibility we might drop it. We’ll see how it fares next week. I’m not gonna lie – more kisses equal more chance I’ll stick with it. What? I’m easy like that.

I still don't understand why YEH and KJH signed up for this drama after reading the script. Not only is the story going nowhere, I feel zero empathy for Ah-jung. The lie is basically a facade to bolster her pride. It serves no noble or fun purpose.

It's seriously off-kilter that Ki-joon suddenly feels such a strong sense of commiseration or what have you, when he learns that Ah-jung lost her mother when she was young.
The almost-kiss from the previous episode, and the kiss in this episode, made absolute no sense the way the storyline was set up. The kiss itself was decent but I didn't feel like it had a rightful place there. It was such a cheap shot.

And thus I officially drop this drama after watching Ep 5, and reading recaps up to Ep 6.

It must be so tough to recap this, so if it gets worse, I would say to stop the torture, and enjoy watching and/or recapping one/some of the new slew of dramas. :)

Pretty much summed up what's wrong with this "rom-com" (there isn't any romance worth noting or much comedy).

The only thing I would add is the overly predictable and dull dialogue/situations.

Kang Ji Hwan is sooooooo omg. I swooned and screamed at the last scene. However, the drama?? I can't believe that Kang Ji Hwan actually picked this project. He built up an image of a really dynamic actor, but this drama feels like a joke to me half the time. The plot is everywhere, the script is horrible, and side stories are so...bleh. also, a lot of things don't make sense? Like Kang Ji Hwan stares lovingly/surprisedly when he finds out that she didn't have a mom. Surprising, but that fact should not change everything for him. Also...whaa? Why did he come to act again? Everything is a MESS. I would never have kept watching this drama...only KJH can't make me drop it. ughhh

Let me simplify why the kiss was not random nor weird without giving a detail sex education class on this site. Simply put Ah-Jung and Ki-Joon are "Super Bass" look it up girlie's the relationship was developed from the very first meeting, when she wake up and called him "handsome". It's a very common virus in the "States" it lay dormant in your mind it's not something that human catch we are born with it. Man and Woman has this source of energy, yep I think sources of energy is a good terminology. It can become active at any time, the main trigger are eye contact, smell and physical contact this virus is fast acting, the person is left feeling light head, hot, having aches in places I won't talk about. It effect man and woman alike it has no bias it effect every ethnicity and cultures. It can come without warning and can leave the same way.

Just last week at happy hour, I saw a Hyun Bin look alike but taller and I start to have severe side effect of this disease, staring, thinking naughty hehehhe. I really thought it was common in woman and man all over the world but from the comments on this site I guess just in the States and near by galaxies only experiences this disease that plague human since the begin of time. It has been call many names, Sexually Attraction, Toxic, Lust, Desire and for the innocent Love at first sight. I personally like "Super Bass per Niki Minji because it so true with a look the panties might come off. So there my sweet young things, the build up and the relationship development is not required when you are having a outbreak.....of the "Super Bass"

Don't be afraid ladies there is a cure
drum roll please

wait for it

it coming.........

"LOVE" that the cure and I'm sure Ah-Jung and Ki-hoon will recovery once love start to form but till then I hope those too grown adult enjoy the sweetness of "Super Bass" .

Off to watch for 'the kiss' . AH..I wonder if the Chinese couple will be back that kind of meanered off...at least for me.

"CH" was so much better than this dreck.

At least "CH" had some fun, witty lines and was good for a good no. of laughs.

Also, you really felt for PSY's character and the acting was much better all around.

I like Lie to me because of Kang Ji Hwan & Eun Hye...I enjoyed all their dramas like this one. I enjoy it most when the scenes are on Ki Joon/Ah Jung, Ah Jung/Sang Hee. So ran is quite a character. Now that sparks has taken off between Ah Jung & Ki Joon its getting better. The kiss maybe just an act but it sizzles just the same.

oh man. Phew. KJH and YEH are awesome in this, but agreed on the snoozeville of the rest of it. Why does YEH keep ending up with these horrendous projects?

Hopefully it will pick up soon. One more episode and then I'm dropping if it doesn't get awesome.

Watched over 100 Asian dramas. (I lost count.) At least 50 of them are Korean, if not more. Watched this through Episode 6. Still not doing it for me. Maybe because I watched the 100+ dramas and have seen it done better. (I'm not counting variety shows in this either).

My Love Patji was my first K-drama. First real drama was Prince's First Love (that's horrible) Got back into with with Trick (J-drama) Been watching dramas ever since.

I think people are entitled to spell out their disappointment in a series. While I disagreed with the people on My Princess that it wasn't a fun drama, I never said, "Get off because you never watched it."

By this point the plot should have gotten past the lie. Even BFB which is going totally old school plotting style has left the station and gotten way past the premise now.

If I tick off other dramas that have done this premise better, perhaps you might not have seen those dramas and perhaps you would understand my position?

The Big Lie.
Coffee Prince (lies about being a guy)
My Girl (The main character is a scammer)--Hong Sister drama.
Sungkyunkwan Scandal (Lies about being a boy)
Hana Kimi (Japanese and TW versions--lies about being a boy.)

Contract/arranged/Pretend Marriage (Related is the living together, but don't want to)
Choon Hyang (Hong Sisters)
Goong
My Sister in Law is 16
Sweet 18 (This one was hot for the time)

Watch any of those and by episode 6 the plot has gotten out of the station, gone into at least phase 2 or three and you might even get into the lag phase by then.

Me, personally, as a consumer of stories don't form my opinions of a drama based on Javabeans' opinion only. I don't even let her influence my opinions of the story, but really, this is episode 6 out of 16 and we haven't even left the premise station. ven the old, old dramas left the station by episode 3, 4 at the latest. I forgive newbie writers, which this writer is, but I get the sense she's paralyzed by anxiety to one up the dramas I listed. I need a drama whip and some spurs, 'cause this horse isn't even leaving. Sweep me away drama... but it's got very little to keep it moving.

The Kiss? It wasn't believable from YEH's character development. There was enough groundwork for KJH, because of the meta from the secretary and his keeping her in the loop (Such as not barring her from the hotel) but one comforting over being drunk and one confession and she's in...

That's very different from the BFB kiss which I could instantly believe and laugh at and cheer for. Technical skill of the writer. I'm waiting for it. You want to talk technical skill of writing a good story? Where is my phase 2? Where is the theme? Where are the subplots? Where is what it's like to work as a civil servant for the cultural center? What is it like to run a hotel? Even the simple, OMG you need to bring your wife to the golf course and panic time ensues could have worked. Where are the stakes? What are the consequences to those stakes? Can you even save this through character interactions about their family? When you can answer me those things, then we can intelligently talk about if people are educated enough to discuss their disappointment on this drama.

I have faith that they do. Just like I discussed with them why I liked My Princess and they didn't.

Great post! Agree with every single point. Also, I liked My Princess too. Even if there were boring episodes during the 2nd half, it was still quite satisfying overall. Boring is boring and you can't change that with an out-of-nowhere kiss. Heat with no heart is just not how you do it in a kdrama. At least in PT or any other dramas with hot kisses, those were heartfelt. I'm also bothered with the lack of subplots. JB & GF can make a boring episode sound fun and that makes me want to watch it, but this one I can summarize in less than 10 sentences, and it's all fluff. I haven't watch as many dramas as you have, but in my 5 years of watching including Jdramas & Tdramas, I would think I've grown and appreciate a good script more than good actors. Look at MSOAN as an example of great actors, but without a good storyline, and even with a cute couple, it's not worth wasting time on. With Dream High, the actors aren't that great (except for Kim Soo-hyun) but the writer was good, the subplots were good, directing was good, the OST was way good. If Lie to Me aired on Wed/Thu faced against Best Love, its lack of everything would be more apparent. And to tillthenextday, if you can't accept criticism of a drama you love, at least don't be rude and shout (capitalization).

AHHHH! Thanks SO much for recapping this. I know its not always exciting, but I LOVE this show. And here is a list of the reasons why:
1. The secretary and Ah Jung's friendship. It was so cute when he was bragging that they were "buddies"!!!!! (I know that its weird to put that first, but I love the friendships and this one was just too adorable in this episode!)
2. Jealous Ki Joon. Happy Ki Joon. Sulky Ki Joon. Angsty Ki Joon. Stuffy Ki Joon. Ki Joon. Need I say more?
3. The adorable clothes (mostly Ah Jung's fashion). Yep, thats a selling point for me.
4. Devilish Sang hee. He is so freaking cute. Always. No exceptions.
5. The blonde guitar playing girl! I don't know her name or WHY she is always around, but I adore her! She is so funny and sassy. Its refreshing.
6. That the older couples don't drive me nuts! As much as I loved My Girlfriend is Gumiho, I got SO bored of the aunt/director's relationship. I didn't really care about them! The Dad/Resturant owner/artist relationship is not a big deal, but parallels the kids relationship. I like that.
7. The brother relationship! Ok, ok, so it was not a huge part of this episode, but I still love those two together and can't wait for their relationship to develop even more.
8. AH JUNG!!!!! She is one of my favorite heroines of all time. She isn't too dumb or too silly or too angsty. I can actually relate to her and her quest to finally be on top, even if its a bit petty. It makes her relateable.
9. Ah jung/Sang hee. The brother/sister feel makes me so happy and although I know he is going to get hurt, I'm just enjoying their friendship right now.
10. Ah jung/Ki joon. I. Love. Them. The arguing, the laughing, the KISSING! They can't go wrong with me and I can feel the actors' chemistry.
11. The soundtrack! It has such a nice vibe, and I find myself wondering, "Who sings this? I have to get this song!" at least 3-4 times per episode.
12. The secretary. I know I already mentioned him, but he is just so darn cute! I literally screamed with joy at the pout! Plus I am a huge sucker for secondary characters. The glasses+the baby face=my heart all a flutter!
13. Red sweater (ki joon's)! Don't know why I love it, but I do.
14. Ah Jung's lipstick. Seriously, it is such a nice color! I spend half of the time staring at her lips and wondering what time it is. But not in a weird way......
15. The frenemies! Those girls are so adorable but so mean but so funny but so backstabbing! I hope that they can become good friends with Ah Jung in the end. :)
16. The fact that the characters can park their cars ANYWHERE! I know that this is a drama and not real life, but come on! You can't just park in the middle of the sidewalk! It makes me laugh a little every time.
Anyway, those are just a few of the reasons why I love this show. I know its not perfect, but its cute and watchable. I really hope you two continue to recap it! Again, thanks for this week's recaps!

Honestly for me, when picking dramas, especially kdramas, I look first for the MAIN LEADS, then next is the script and lastly the directing.

I also admit that the plot has lil' movement but Kang Ji hwan and Yoon Eun-hye is already enough for me!!!! So do all the hating you do best(as I see it)....but you ain't stopping me from watching this drama.

And I personally think that I prefer dramas wherein the actors are good-looking, has great chemistry together, and well-can act.
No offense but I also did not enjoy best love because, first and foremost, I don't like the actors- so there you go!!! I didn't even had the interest in watching it.

I tried to read the recaps(Best love) in episode 1 but I stop halfway.....it just didn't work for me.

What I am tryin' to say is that people has different taste in picking up dramas so you'll just have to respect it so others will do the same, right??? And please, don't compare dramas(which is one thing that i hate the most- but I am forced to so I had also given my opinion about BL).... especially to dramas that did not SUCCEED.

Anyways, please continue recapping!!!

http://koalasplayground.com/ does the recaps for this and for some reason, she also likes the leads better than the script so she's continuing the recaps. i think that you would like her better as recapper because of her love for the otp greater than JB does. like she says, "the enjoyment of a good show always outweighs the fun of making fun of a bad one."

I absolutely agree with you......couldn't watch best love because of the leads (no matter how good their acting are)..........cheers to Ah-Jung-Ki Joon!

No it's not. From the writing preview of episode 7, *spoiler* it is said that after the kiss (which is for real) Ah Jung and Ki Joon couldn't take their eyes off each other. *spoiler* How cute is that?

KJH is enough reason for me to stick with the drama.
He has this innate charisma that make a girl stop..stare..and swoon over his smile, quirky eyebrow flips and funny expression...you all know what i mean =)

Just 1 kiss and I am easily won over by the show.

I have loved every episode so far because of the lead actors. Those two are so funny together.
Great casting that shows how much getting the right blend in casting matters I guess. If someone else had played either part I don't think it would have made me laugh as much, but together they made me laugh more than once.

I have been hooked on LTM since ep 1. KJH had me at hello, I don't even mind his Beckham voice. Javabeans and girlfriday, please do not stop the recaps. If you are super busy, may be you can consider combining Monday & Tuesday recaps into one.

I've noticed this for a while, but I didn't say anything because I just thought that you forgot, but it's been 6 episodes now and neither Javabeans nor girlfriday put songs with the recap. Is this intentional or is this your way of saying "I don't care about this drama as much as the others that I'm recapping right now so why make the effort of choosing a song to go with each recap?"

I'm not asking this to be mean and I do appreciate your recaps, but I love this drama and I feel like you're just writing the recaps because you feel obliged or something.

Even with some harsh comments, this drama is still popular with international fans as we can see that their Soompi thread has a lot more views and replies than the other May dramas (yes, that includes Best Love).

I'm a huge fan of Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan so I wish them all the best. Btw the kiss seemed real and sincere. It was hot! Hmmm, am I sensing a real attraction going on between those two or was that just really good acting? ^____^

Um, have you been noticing wrong? JB puts songs in all her LTM recaps like with other dramas, and GF doesn't because she doesn't post songs anyway. I think you're getting insulted over something you've imagined.

Please keep recapping as we have to rely on your recaps when we try to make sense of the raw vids. I'm too eager to wait for the subs and always go to dramacrazy for the raw. I think the storyline will become more interesting in the coming episodes. If Sang Hee begins to fall for AJ, that would heat up the plot. And I think AJ may be given a foreign assignment as the minister seems very pleased with her "performance", not knowing she's copying recipes for her housewarming during her lunch break. Maybe her going abroad may make KJ realize that it's AJ who's now ruling his heart, and not the first love anymore. I'm not sure whether the two brothers' second experience of falling for the same woman will further develop the plot, but I hope the writer has something up his/her sleeve so that the coming episodes won't be too dragging and discourage jb and gf from continuing with the recaps.

Hi, girls!

Thanks a lot for your recaps! I always enjoy reading them ^_^

Re LTM... Well, what can I say?..
I started to watch this drama only because of KJH and YEH (I guess that I'm not along here) ^_^

I was totally in love with them after watching Coffee Prince and Coffee House. So, I was 100% sure that LTM would be great, but unfortunately I was wrong... I must admit that this drama is... average (sigh), and even the chemistry between KJH and YEH is not 100% (I can't get rid of the feeling that they are lacking someting. Sorry.). However it's still easy for me to watch this drama since it's light, funny and cute ^_^

Re kiss scene in ep. 6, it was totally unexpected for me but I don't think that it was random. If you all remember KJ already was caught in a moment before and tried to kiss AJ under the cherry tree. So, it's absolutely possible that he was caught in a moment again but this time he wasn't able to resist (physical attraction and all that stuff, you know, kekeke) ^_~ It was a moment of "carpe diem" for him. I think that for this brief moment he droped his guard and let himself act impulsively and freely without thinking. I think it's all thanks to AJ because she brought a disorder (in a good way) into his so well-organized but so boring life.
As for AJ, I think that at the beginning (of the kiss) she was surprised but she couldn't stop him because everyone was watching but later she also had her moment of "carpe diem" (Oh, who wouldn't, if it's KJH. Right, ladies?) ^_~
And this kiss was a total swoooon!!!

So, I know that I will continue to watch this drama because of KJH and YEH...

OK... I'm lying... eh...

KJH is already enough for me to watch any drama ^_~

And if there is KJH + kiss/kisses...

Show, you can buy me.

I know, I know. Shame on me. I'm easy like that. But... Oh, c'mon. Who can resist KJH? ^_~

Does anybody else get kick out of that thing he does with his eyebrows?

~Spoilers~ (Non-specific)

Without being too specific, there isn't character growth and what was feared in this review is true, making me roll my eyes and fall over, heaving a large sigh.

It makes me say things like 2nd MSOAN, only worse because it can't even get out of the premise gate and cry over the waste of actors and also want to talk sense into the script writer that she has to master the basics before being afriad of the stereotypes. She still needs support to get the drama to work, because it's clear that she's lost and I don't sense confidence in the writing.

If you're desperate enough to fling in a kiss, at least have *something* come of it, or put enough ground work to get it to stick or make an effect on SOMETHING.

Enough said. This drama is going on fast forward for me. Just for the Kang Ji Hwan moments. Maybe Yoon Eun Hye too. If I was recapping, seeing episode 7, I'd drop it.

Oh, and they're gonna "fling" another kiss on episode 8. Spoiler pics are out. Talk about desperation. So now people would definitely watch that episode 2 because it looks like another hot kiss to me. And that's what this drama amounts to now. But of course fans are eating it up. That's what I call style over substance. It's not funny, it's not punny, it's not witty, it's got no heart and soul. Writers of this caliber should go to writer's hell where they watch all the axed dramas, or MSOAN-types, plus those with really bad ending all day. Seriously bad dramas should be outlawed.

I share the exact same feelings as girl friday. This drama is getting more and more boring (even though they got kissy kissy at the end). Wish the drama won't cash only on the cool leads and start having some plot as well. Not much plot. Any will do!
