Lie To Me: Episode 6
by girlfriday
Aaaack, this drama is so sadistic – I feel like a yo-yo. Ninety-nine percent of the time, I’m just watching super passively, because there’s nothing that happens that’s unexpected or new. We just keep circling one plot point over and over again, in slightly different iterations. But then one thing happens to jerk me back in, and I’m Kang-Ji-hwan-toast. A total goner. Gah.
EPISODE 6 RECAP
Ah-jung freaks out that her friends want her to have a housewarming and invite them over. So you purposely baited your friends with this ginormous lie, and then expected them to drop interest at a moment’s notice? Logic is not thy strong suit.
She heads straight to Ki-joon’s house, to try and persuade him to let her borrow his house for an evening. She promises that it’ll be like she was never there, and bats her eyelashes at him, to no avail. His idea of the contract was to do nothing, and he meant it. She leaves, deflated.
She meets Sang-hee the next day and returns the ring dejectedly, and tells him about her new dilemma. He laughs, “Is that all?” and flashes the ring at her, reminding her that he’s the fairy godmother. He promises to help her, and she brightens up again.
Auntie President meanwhile gets photographic evidence that Ki-joon’s marriage rumor might in fact be true… which obviously does not bode well for Ah-jung. But when Yoon-ju shows up to announce her return, she decides to just keep watch over the Ah-jung situation.
Sang-hee takes Ah-jung to his aunt’s mansion and tells her that this is where she’ll have her housewarming. What the? Isn’t that a hell of a lot riskier than sneaking into Ki-joon’s house? He doesn’t seem to think so, since his aunt goes to Jeju every weekend, like clockwork. How much you wanna bet something keeps her in town this week?
Ah-jung thinks he’s delusional, and says that she can’t tell the difference between when he’s kidding and not. Heh. He swears he’s telling the truth, despite the fact that he is in fact LYING… well, omitting the fact that the reason he knows people who work there is because he is the young master of le grande estate.
She thinks he’s bluffing, so she pushes him out of the car in exasperation and returns to work… where she sees So-ran in the lobby, apparently waiting to run into her. She finally caves and calls Sang-hee to ask if he was serious, and tells him Operation: Housewarming is a go.
She can’t resist the urge to rub it in Ki-joon’s face, and finds him while he’s jogging in the park. She gets the jump on his nerves, and he falls backwards into a bush at her arrival. Pffft. I kind of like his fear of her.
She tells him that she doesn’t need his house anymore, and that there’s no reason for them to ever see each other again, so that’s that. Riiiiiiight. I’d prefer it if there was no reason to ever see him in his neon workout gear ever again, but that’s just me.
Ki-joon returns to work to find his aunt waiting for him, and she asks if he’s been waiting for Yoon-ju all this time. He says no, but he does hesitate, because clearly his feelings are not as settled as he would like them to be.
His aunt breathes a sigh of relief, admitting that while she does like Yoon-ju and can find no fault with her, she’s of the same mind that she was three years ago: Yoon-ju cannot replace Sang-hee. Meaning of course that they are not a one-to-one trade, and that no girl is worth his brother. He agrees and puts her mind at ease.
While I don’t think that he’s actually worked out his residual feelings for her, I don’t think he’s going to waver on the Sang-hee issue, because clearly he never would’ve broken off the engagement in the first place if he didn’t mean to stick by it.
She’s not making it easy either, by taking up work in one of his department stores. They greet each other awkwardly, pretending to meet for the first time in front of other employees.
Ah-jung stops by the bench where she and Ki-joon had their almost-kiss, and smiles to herself as she watches the cherry blossoms fall. How cute. I really wish the drama did more of this (actual development of feelings) than new and unimproved ways to perpetuate The Lie. ‘Cause yeah… we geddit.
Ki-joon’s secretary takes him out to lunch to Ah-jung’s favorite coffee shop, where OF COURSE, they run into Jae-bum. Does this guy just go from café to movie theater to hotel, just waiting to run into people he knows? No wonder he’s a lawyer with no clients. He’s never at work!
They exchange hellos, and Jae-bum recognizes the secretary right away. It’s a good thing he’s not too bright though, because he doesn’t put two and two together about the “friend” who needed legal advice on how to sue the woman pretending to be his wife.
Once Ki-joon sits down, his secretary tells him that Jae-bum is Ah-jung’s first love, and his instant reflex is an angry “WHAT?” Heh. He then orders a fair trade coffee, per Ah-jung’s choice, the last time they were here.
The secretary fills Ki-joon in on Ah-jung’s backstory with Jae-bum, and adds his own sympathy for her situation. Ki-joon just thinks that her pride was hurt, but his assistant counters that that’s what a woman’s pride is – never wanting to lose, even if the world is falling down around them. I disagree that it’s gender-specific, but based on Ah-jung’s crazy antics, he’s not wrong.
Ah-jung gets excited in planning her fancy menu for the housewarming, and entreats Seok-bong to help her prepare the food. Sang-hee comes over with bad news though—his aunt had a change of plans and now that house is unavailable. Ah-jung has a fit and leaves.
At the same time, Ki-joon looks around his empty house and starts to feel bad about turning her down so coldly. So he has a change of heart and drives to her neighborhood and calls her to come out…
But as he leaves his message, he hears his brother’s voice. He looks in his rearview mirror and there’s Sang-hee… walking along and joking with Ah-jung. Ruh-roh.
Ki-joon gets out of the car, and Ah-jung is surprised to see him, but not nearly as surprised as Sang-hee is, who just ekes out, “Hyung…” with a panicked look on his face.
Ah-jung reads the tension in the air and then looks back and forth between them. “Hyung?”
Ki-joon breaks his silence with a laugh full of disbelief and scorn, and gets in his car and drives away before Sang-hee can stop him. He turns around only to be met with anger on Ah-jung’s side too, as she kicks him and walks away in a huff.
Dude, that’s what you get for playing fairy godmother when you’re really prince charming’s baby brother.
The next morning he tries to do damage control with Big Bro, to no avail. He asks to let Ah-jung borrow the house for just one day, and adds that she had no idea that they were brothers. Ki-joon naturally doesn’t believe him, and asks why he’s doing any of this at all. Sang-hee: “Because it’s fun.”
The troublemaker gets his own dose of reality though, when he returns to Seok-bong’s studio to find Yoon-ju there. He lights up at the sight of her, but then quickly hides, unable to face her.
He watches her leave, still totally heartbroken and an angsty little puppy dog over her.
Ah-jung goes to Ki-joon’s house and has a massive debate… with herself, about whether or not to ask for his help. She decides against it and walks off yammering to herself, which Ki-joon’s assistant sees on his way in.
He mentions it to Ki-joon, who pretends not to care… but then immediately picks up his phone to check if she called. Aw. She didn’t, which confuses him, so he texts her to ask how the preparation for the housewarming is going.
She thinks he’s just messing with her on purpose, so she ignores his call, which just makes him even antsier. I love it that he’s like, I’m not interested, nope! All the while checking his phone every five seconds.
He finally calls her, and when he shows up to meet her, she’s in the middle of looking at an apartment for sale. Her plan is to somehow rent this place for a day and fill it with rental furniture, and pass it off as their home… which is just looney tunes. But clearly she’s that desperate, beyond the point of reason.
He asks if it’s really worth all of this, just because her friend stole her first love. But she turns to him and asks if his pride has ever been trampled. “Then don’t talk about things you don’t understand. The method may be wrong. I know that. But I can’t get married because of So-ran.”
That… doesn’t make sense either. But then, Logic seems to have no place in Ah-jung’s world. When Ah-jung asks the realtor if they can test-live the apartment for a day, they get scooted out of there like a couple of stray dogs.
Looks like her pride extends to him too, because though he keeps baiting her to ask him for his house, she refuses to. She says she’s got one last ditch super-secret plan: cut to her consulting a hypnotherapist (HA) for how to convince someone to borrow their house for a day. Apparently, as it is against the law, he can’t help her.
She trudges back home defeated, and finds Sang-hee waiting around for her. He smiles sheepishly at her, and she realizes all the times that she could’ve picked up on the clues, but didn’t, and chastises herself for being an idiot.
He apologizes to her and asks if she’s going to hit him again, but she’s cool about it, which impresses him. She’s decided to just come clean to So-ran tomorrow about the whole thing, and he wonders if it’ll be okay. Her answer is a resounding NO, but what can she do, short of setting Ki-joon’s house on fire?
Sang-hee smiles devilishly, and then we cut to the both of them in ninja outfits, setting Ki-joon’s house ablaze. What in the cosmos? This had better be some deluded fantasy sequence, or I’m breaking up with Show RIGHT NOW.
Ki-joon gasps for air as he wakes up to his house ablaze, and then collapses choking. Ah-jung and Sang-hee run away gleefully… and then Ki-joon wakes up, startled from his crazy nightmare. Oy.
Well the nutty nightmare is enough to persuade him that he ought to just give in and let her use the house, so he comes by to give her the key and the lockcode in the morning. She promises to treat the house like her own so that he won’t regret it. Ki-joon: “I already regret it.” Heh.
She starts putting her things throughout the house (which hadn’t even occurred to me until now – she has to make it look like she lives there) and Sang-hee helps her set everything up. He even borrowed the contents of his friend’s closet and had it brought over, knowing that her friends will want to check out her closet first thing.
She squees in delight and hugs him, giving him back his fairy godmother title. Dude, Sang-hee… how are you the only one who does not see history repeating itself here?
So-ran gets ready, and Jae-bum stalls, trying to come up with an excuse not to go so that he doesn’t have to face Ah-jung. So-ran calls his bluff and says that she doesn’t care what he does, but he’d better play the happy couple with her in front of Ah-jung. Sad, really.
Meanwhile, Ki-joon goes out to the movies… with his secretary (heh), who happens to like melodramas (HA). He refuses at first, but a pathetic pout is enough to do him in. He gets a call from Yoon-ju who invites him over for dinner, and so he heads over there…
The doorbells ring at two houses simultaneously – Yoon-ju goes to the door fully expecting Ki-joon, but then looks up and sees Sang-hee smiling back at her. Ah-jung opens the door, and there stands Ki-joon, having chosen to be here instead. Aw.
She’s like, what… are you doing here, and he just answers cheekily that it’s his house. And then he greets their guests at the door, completely flooring all her friends. He totally acts the part of the adoring husband, which actually scares Ah-jung because it’s so out of character.
Under her breath, she mutters, “Why are you doing this? It’s making me nervous.” And he tells her that they’re putting on a play, and this is the stage. And then he starts shaking his hips while calling everyone to the dinner table, which makes ME nervous. Heh.
He feeds her adoringly and her friends praise her cooking, at which Jae-bum chimes in that Ah-jung’s a really good cook, and that she started learning housework at a young age, because her mother died young.
That quiets the room for a while, and Ki-joon looks over Ah-jung with empathy, seeing her differently for a moment, off in his own world.
The whole situation starts to make her uncomfortable, so she runs into the bathroom for a moment, which Jae-bum uses as his chance to follow her in and beg her not to spill the beans to So-ran about his affair.
She agrees uncomfortably, and they come out of the bathroom together… where Ki-joon is standing there waiting. Um, awkward. He gently tells her that her friends and waiting, and leads Ah-jung away by the hand.
It turns even more awkward when all three of them return to the party like that, and Jae-bum makes the mistake of sitting down on the couch next to Ah-jung instead of his own wife. He tries to break awkwardness by requesting a song from Ki-joon.
Ah-jung gets up and says she’ll sing by herself to break the tension, but then to her surprise, Ki-joon gets up and says they’ll sing together. They pick a song and start out awkwardly, standing five feet apart, but then her friend pushes them together and they start getting into the song.
Ki-joon starts to look at Ah-jung as she sings, and his eyes lock with hers. They stop singing, and then he drops his mic, and pulls her toward him…
He grabs her in a kiss, and then there they are, full-on making out like no one else is in the room.
Goddamnit. Total swoon.
COMMENTS
This drama is a lot like Pasta. I love the leads and their chemistry is sizzling, and yet… nothing ever happens. There’s very little forward momentum in dramas like these, where you just have the same plot point being reinforced over and over and over, with very little change. Even the supposedly big reveal of the brothers being brothers is… totally anticlimactic. The problem is, I like the couple and I’m invested in them working out in the end. But the lie is already getting tiresome.
When the couple is together, it’s cute cute cute, but when they’re not, it’s boring boring boring. And I really wish the brothers spent more time together onscreen, while we’re at it. How can a drama with such cute highs have such dull lows? (For instance, forty minutes spent getting the house, despite the fact that we all KNEW she’d get to use his house. ‘Cause duh.)
There’s so much potential for the setup, if the plot would just leave the goddamn station. I think if we were still earlier on in the series, I’d be more forgiving (which I was, more than usual for the first two weeks, just because I love both Yoon Eun-hye and Kang Ji-hwan). But now I’m antsy for MORE.
That said, the kiss did surprise me, even if it’s a little weird that it happens in front of other people, and IF the drama actually builds on their relationship from here on out instead of heading back to square one, I’m in like flynn. But I don’t trust it to. I feel like we’re headed back to Denial Land, which is going to make me angry…
Oh, the woes of dramas that don’t do what I tell them. If he wasn’t such a good kisser, I’d already have kissed Show goodbye. For now I’m just rewinding…
So just a heads up: we’re still up in the air about whether or not to continue recapping this drama, so fair warning that there’s a possibility we might drop it. We’ll see how it fares next week. I’m not gonna lie – more kisses equal more chance I’ll stick with it. What? I’m easy like that.

As ive beenreading the comments of fellow fanatics, i agree about the drama havinga lot of pitential, it's super true, last night I was wondering what if it was the hong sisters who did the script writing and all, no offence though,it's my opinion so butt off! Back to the topic, i think it would be one of the best dramas.

See My Girl for their version of a girl that constantly lies. Some people called it learn how to swindle. So they have and they've done it better, complete with a Chaebol of a Hotel, no less.

I like the main leads that's why I decided to watch this series. But after watching the first 4 episodes, I had enough and decided to drop this and just read your recaps. Yoon Eun-hye's character as Ah-jung really pisses me off and her acting is really over the top. Some say that this is a rom-com series so it's ok to be overacting but I disagree.Dalja's spring and last scandal are rom-com series but the lead actors' acting there are natural plus the side stories are enjoyable to watch.
To Javabeans and girlfriday, just drop this show because it's a waste of time recapping a series with a very boring and shallow plot with unlikeable characters.

@katkat Sorry but I respectfully disagree. The decision to drop re-capping should come from JV & GF not from fanatics like us who live off our fantasy from their hard work.
You may not like it but there are many who do so why can't we just respect each other's space? if you do not care to watch then please don't but do not deprive those who are enjoying the show by trying to dissuade JV & GF. Not that I believe JV & GF would easily be swayed. CIAO!

Am I the only one who think that the lead actor has a funny voice almost like he has been breathing some helium. I can't take him seriously everytime he opens his mouth I laugh. Anyway the story is going nowhere for me. I bet that they will be back to square one in the next episode.

What a disappointing episode yet again. I've said this, and will say it again, 'Lie to me' will not be worth my time and effort and energy. Recap or don't, Dramabeanz, I really don't care.
The kiss in the end was so contrived it was actually uncomfortable to watch! And the rest of the episode was humdrum and plodding along because really, who really gives a heck about the affair of her sunbae.
I thought I liked YEH but this drama has proven me wrong. She has not grown in her roles through the years and definitely needs a new manager to hekp her pick the right roles. And yes, the male lead does speak in a funny voice ala David Beckham.

Yes I too think that KJH's weakness is his voice. I read a comment on that somewhere before too. I wonder if it's possible to control or change it. I have also read that Jungilwoo felt his voice was weak too and trained himself to change it for Iljimae. So far my favourite male actor voice is Jisung's. It's so unique and sexyyyyy ... ahh .. Leeboyoung is one lucky girl ..

the kiss scene is so random and only to increase the ratings. this drama is so typical and kinda remind me of My Lovely Samsoon. Compared to 49 days which is more3x better, it does not need any kiss scene between the main couple to boost up the ratings, as long as the storyline is good. and even the ending is sad, the writer is very brave to convey the message of the drama which is about life and death and not for a random fan service.
Sorry, this is just my opinion

But I will still continue to watch LTM because I do like YEH a lot. I just wish she'd chosen a better-written drama.

I love 49 days to pieces (agree with you abt how it doesn't try to manipulate you by using fanservice) but it's a teensy bit unfair to compare the two since they're in different genres (one is a romance drama and the other is a fluffy rom-com). But when you do compare Lie to Me with other rom-com dramas of similar length, it is, sadly, below average.
I think I may stick with Lie to Me just because I want to see Ah-jung grow up, get over Soran, and make some friends. I think that can be the drama's saving grace.

This drama has:
-great lead actors (but I actually see them not their characters who are so uber boring)
-a confused and most possibly blocked writer
-YEH followers
-KJH followers
-a hot (random) kiss scene
Does not have:
-a plot
-subplots (or there are but no development)
-witty banters or lines
-a great OST or at least a catchy theme song
-good cinematography
-good editing/directing
-a goal or something worth fighting for
-a worthy villain/rival

1 lovely scene does not qualify for beautiful cinematography. And Soran is so pitiful. What's her motive for doing what she does? She's not even half as hateful as the bitches of Personal Taste, My Princess, etc. She's just pathetic. And why is Ah-Kung even talking to her?

I can answer why Ah-jung is still even talking to Soran....
...because that's the only plot they have! If they discontinue the stupid one-up-manship then there's no story at all. Might as well watch the teaser trailers for 1 hr. And the stills & posters.

thank you for this recap!
this kiss swoooned me like everyone else and I had no idea why. I already watched this scene 10 times before the recap and couldn't wait for the recap.
it would be a pity if you won't keep writing recaps but I understand why you would drop it if there's plenty of other choice.
it's just the couple is so awesome and Kang Ji Hwang acting comes in this episode totally out. Everytime he made twink with his eyes or shakes his hips it's so hilarous but still so HOT you can't but just fell for him *lol*
Oh yeah, Sang-hee - history repeating, I can see that.
Oh yeah, I already realized how good YEH is at kissing and with KJH, they're perfect! XD The kiss really was a stunt *____* wished they're landing in a hotel room in HIS hotel and then gets discovered buy his employees *LOL*
And he's like "What? I OWN this hotel!"
Ah Young has good traits as a wife (especially when she's a good cook), Ki-Joon will realize that soon *he*

Thanks so much for recaps, I really hope you will continue with it because... you are my only drama source.. I can't speak korean and I know after a drama like 49 days and currently airing drama Greates Love you feel like there should be more of them in the line up... but for me I really love drama where I don't habe to be on the edge all the time.. sometimes watching drama is the best way for me to forget about school work and just enjoy watching cute couple :-) and the biggest reason for me to watch this drama is Kang Ji Hwan, he is amazing!!! and every time there is drama with him I am so happy!!!
like you I wish there was some changes in drama but is is a small price to pay for me in order to watch Kang Ji Hwan for 2h a week :D

The romance btwn the 2 leads didn't start around ep. 8 or so in "CP", but a lot did happen leading up to it (starting w/ the renovation of the coffee shop).
Plus, the dialogue was well written and the characters were taking shape and weren't these 1 dimensional, overexaggerated stereotypes.
Even the relationship btwn YEH's and KJH's character here is lame, not very interesting and not very believable.
The most interesting relationship here is btwn the 2 brothers (which has gotten little screentime thus far).

Bah..... girls! Dont give up on this drama yet. I mean.... what would expect from a plot that has been repeatedly several times before??? I agree that the best parts are when KJH ans YEH appears and it makes everything jolly... I just cant enough on how sweet KJH's eyes look when he look at her.... it makes me kinda envious.
You have recaped some horrible / mediocre plots before like: Oh My Lady, Take Care of the Agassi, Personal Taste that after episode 10 was just a pain to watch, because, why did it take them so long to come to their senses and the "villains" were just weak.
I remember when I first saw Coffee Prince, that nothing happend until episode 8, was when YEH kissed GY's forehead, and that was their turning point on developing their romance. I think that what is going to build up KJH and YEH's feeling for this drama is when Jae Bum is going to get her back and Yoon Joo + Manager Park will try to get Gi Joon....
They should take off his little brother.... I dont get the fuss around him, he is just stupid, a coward and a very mean person because he never stood up for himself and now he wants to be helpful - it just reeks of Park Eun Hye's character in Fireworks - which KJH also worked in and made the role of the younger brother....
Anyhow.... if could follow up Past up to chapter 13, another 10 of Lie to Me wouldnt hurt, right?

If you're following even the most basic of the "contract marriage" "lying to save face" dramas (two different genres) you would get something like this...
Introduce the lie. Get the characters to try to detangle themselves, but get entangled further. They cave (not at the same time) and then they make a contract, usually with the prerequisite "Thou can't fall in love with me." clause with a penalty to add suspense and then commence to do the opposite. (If one of the characters has a pride issue it can add spice--See Chun Hyang) As the couple gets into wackier and wackier situations created by their lies and people trying to discover their secret as a sham marriage, throwing often an inheritance issue or simply throwing in more and more reasons not to uncover the lie, which is where you get good physical humor from (something that Kang Ji Hwan and Yoon Eun Hye excel at, BTW), then the lie gets so thick they can't separate the relationship from the lie, 'causing angst, which is always the middle section of such dramas, add some relatives disapproving, and then start the wrap up. Throw in a main theme in there with it and some strong supporting cast to add complications, and you're good to go. You get bonus points for showing the work place to fill the dead spots because you can't write that well, so filling it with facts about X industry and the character's family holds the viewer over.
This drama didn't even try for the boring basics. There was no twist beyond the premise. I thought I was going to get a woman that lies a whole lot and creates a ton of trouble because of it. Then that creates complications as she tells bigger and bigger lies. Rather, she's an impulsive liar to save face. That's not enough conflict to hold the story together. I'd be more entertained with a compulsive liar with someone who is a compulsive truth teller... that's enough to hold together a drama as they learn from each other.
Things this drama could do from this point to improve:
- Show the working life of both people such that it complicates the relationship.
- Make the supporting cast compelling. Making family interactions warms the heart on another level, which is why K-dramas often include family.
- Add stipulations to the contract that make for some *stakes* and consequences to those stakes.
- Put in a theme of the nature of lying (See My Girl for this done right.)
- Explore the problems of a Chaebol marrying a civil servant.
- Involve the aunt already in the marriage problem--this was defeated too quickly for my taste. At least raise her suspicions again.
- Get past the original lie and make *more* lies to cover that lie.
- Have someone sniff the lie early on... (We're on episode 6... at least this trope can help the writer.)
Have I watched too many Asian dramas? Maybe. Have I written too many stories? No way. But I do know that since this trope is done so often that this could have been a tighter drama. But I forgive Newbie writer. No one is that good when they start. I have a feeling she wanted to get away from the tropes, but doesn't have enough skill to know how to twist them, so ended up doing less than.
That's what I expected at the very least...

Kim Yoonmi, I've noticing u being a such judgemental here. If you dont like it, you just can skip the drama, right?
Cant we just enjoy this drama? And to the writers of dramabeans, u can stop recapping if you want, if u stop recapping,it makes me more excited to watch LTM, what to do? I'm easy like that.
Futhermore, if u stop recapping, i just can read recaps at koalasplayground, at least, theres less hateful comments there.

oooh...defensive!
she's not being judgmental. she's stating her opinions based on her kdrama-watching experience. same for other people. we're frustrated because it sounded so promising and it turned out this way. feels like a great deception.

i think you should just see how City hunter and Ripley goes and if any of the two dramas turn out to be better than LTM
(it wont be hard to do i'm sure of that -___- )
then drop LTM.
You guys struggled through MSOAN, hoping it would pick up every week. Your awesome recaps were wasted on that drama

Yeah...I knew a YEH kiss would be great...I just can't get into this show anymore, though. It's sad because not even the KISS saved it for me. Sigh.
For the sake of the people who like Lie to Me, I would say not to stop recapping this, unless you actually get mindlessly bored with it yourself. Though, if you had to choose a new Mon./Tue. show, Baby-Faced Beauty would be it!

I agree! baby faced beauty is great! That show is getting better every week. Although I still prefer the leads and setup in Lie To Me, the story is going no where!

I can still not help but wonder if the kiss in this episode was a response to the kiss in BFB episode seven, as its pretty well came out of no where.

I'm going to have to disagree about Baby-faced Beauty. The characters in there come off as way too childish. Every time I watch an episode of that, I get tired. It's like dealing with children and having to tell them over and over again "Do this" "Do that" so that they understand. It's frustrating. At least children have moments when they finally do what you ask without poking; that's rewarding.
Maybe I gave up too soon - around ep 3. Did Baby-faced get rewarding?

Im enjoying it. Although it can still be irritating, the lead couple just get cuter. But still the LTM couple rock! Sigh Kang Ji Hwan.

Ok how cute is his secretary? I just want to put him in my pocket. I just died when he pulled a puppy dog face concerning his love for melodramas and when Ki Joon refused to watch it. Be still my heart. Motherly instincts I couldve sworn I didnt have kicked in.
Also, Ki Joon kiss me like that. Please?

So far my 3 faves are Can You Hear My Heart?, Manny, and Best Love -- 2 of which you guys are not recapping.
I lost interest in Lie to Me around ep. 3 but have kept reading your recaps. I feel like it's the first draft of a pretty decent drama. Can the writer(s) get a proofreader? Because I can cut down these 6 episodes to 4, maybe 3, and still get all the info we need in there.
I want(ed) to like Ah-jung, I do, because I know at times I'm just like her when it comes to my pride. But damn, the writer's all over the place with her. Also, it's sad because I love KJH, especially in Coffee House, but Ki-joon here is so bland.
Where did the kiss come from? I mean, I liked, but after the high, I was going, "What." Ok, say Ki-joon feels something for Ah-jung based on the fact that they both lost parent(s) at a young age. You don't need a kiss to show that; I feel like it was a cheap shot.
Seriously, can we dump the fake marriage for some real emotional development?

GET A ROOM! Finally, the KISS! Hot, Hot, Hot!!! OMG!
This drama has been dragging along and finally SOME ACTION! Replayed it several times and it is looks cute and realistic.
I hope the writers can keep the momentum going and do some more crazy stuff like this to keep it interesting.
Yoon Ju seems like she will be a fly in the ointment. Three years has past and she thinks she can come back as if nothing has happened. Get real and wake up and smell the coffee.... poor Sang Hee
Please don't drop put of recapping this one. I 'm still hoping it will improve.

I would have not cared if you dropped recapping this drama or not. I mean, I would have less JB and GF to read so of course that wouldn't make me "pleased" or even "neutral" but I would see it as you guys having more time for 'Best Love' news (yes, I'm obsessed like that).
But....I'm rather a cheap sheep. SO after I saw that kiss (oh...and what a kiss) I am joining the crowd of, "moooorree mooorree" and kindly asking you to sacrifice yourselves (yes, sacrifice) because this drama isn't very good (no, it really isn't) but for these kinds of moments....it's worth documenting and informing the others....

You should watch the Taiwanese drama Drunken to Love You (or just Love You). It's the whole we got married when drunk, now we have to pretend to be a couple (oh oh what's with this these days), but we're falling in love. + some significant others and ex's. Fun fun fun. I love Rainie Yang in the role. :)

AAAAAAAAAAHHH! He KISSED her and what a kiss! Okay, k-dramas usually give lukewarm kisses nearing the end of a drama but Lie to Me has given us much anticipated fan-service earlier rather than later. I like.
Seriously, Yoon Eun Hye has the best kissing scenes ever! From Goong, to Coffee Prince, and now this?!
Cannot wait for next week! We can guess as to how the fake marriage revelations will play out but how what will this mean for their relationship since the main lead is very much still in love with his ex-fiancee. Okay, Lie to Me is a keeper.

I really want to like this show! And I think the first couple episodes were good but the last two have been lacking. There is a lack of logical character emotional investment...wow that is a string of big words. I mean, that I just don't buy it that they are that interested in each other yet. The almost kiss from episode 5 was pretty and the make-out session at the end of ep 6 was nice but I am not sure they are believable. Here's hoping it gets better.

Dear Girlfriday,
After the first 5 episodes, I wasn't digging this drama. But after the ending of this one, I am totally on board. But if next week isn't better (I hope it is though) I will understand if you and Javabeans drop it. But please give it a second chance so I will have something to read next week while I wait for Best Love!

But it's still cute since I love KJH and YEH
