Festival officially renamed, adds to cast
by girlfriday
So it looks like your creative juices have not been wasted. Upcoming campus music youth drama Festival, which now bears the Korean title You’ve Fallen for Me, has been officially renamed with the English title Heartstrings by production company JS Pictures. You can check it out here at DramaFever.
I didn’t really think it was likely that they’d take one of the titles with Stupid in it, though I found them all amusing. It does have to sell internationally with that title, so it’s probably not the first impression they want to give? But everyone’s ideas were really fun to read.
Heartstrings has also added Jung Seo-won to its cast, who you’ll probably remember as the hilarious stuntman-sunbae to Ha Ji-won in Secret Garden. He was actually really adorable in a role that could’ve been forgettable, so I’m looking forward to seeing more of him in dramaland. He’ll be playing the right-hand man to Song Chang-eui‘s character, who will be heading up the theater production department at the arts university.
PD Pyo Min-soo‘s Heartstrings / You’ve Fallen for Me / Festival (Yeesh, THAT’s gonna be fun to google.) stars Park Shin-hye and Jung Yong-hwa, and premieres June 29 on MBC.

I don't like the name Heartstrings, tbh. It's a nice play on words, but it sounds so... cheesy to me. Idk. I'd be more likely to watch a drama called "Festival" or even "You've Fallen for Me" (even if it does sound kinda generic in English, imo) than one called "Heartstrings."

Actually, I shouldn't say 'play on words.' It's cutesy, since it incorporates the music part of the drama and whatever but... yeah.

i agree. why on earth would a drama have so many names. internationally speaking, its not a good promotion tactic. if you have too many names to a drama, what the hell are us non-speaking koreans going to do when trying to find the drama? i'm already fed up with typing up so many different names for Best Love, The greatest love, or whatever into the search engine. imagine trying to find it with three different names!

Agree. Chiro!
The various companies that are named Heartstrings include businesses that deal with: knitting, quilting, infant and toddler clothing, bridal wear, scrap-booking, embroidery, jewelry, photography, engraved gifts, wedding music, and a small cattery that raises rag-dolls and kittens.
Hardly brings to mind 20 something people, let alone, ones that rock and roll!
Gagggggggggging!

I prefer the original title as well. Heartstrings sounds very melodramatic, and makes me worry that someone is going to die/need a heart transplant.

Honestly I don't really care about the title. I can deal with a dumb title so long as the drama is interesting (take the Greatest Love for instance).

....dont care much about the title now coz basically they end up messing around anyway. Jung Seo-won? now thats a good news for me, I find him underrated in SG he's so good and adorable that it wont be long that were watching him for some worthwhile film of his own.

Meh - I still wish they had picked "I'm With Stupid", considering it won after all - and just sounds more original than "Heartstrings". I'd rather they have left it with "You've Fallen For Me".

Meh too! I really love 'Love Me Stupid' so cool in English, if not 'You've fallen for me' is better. But then we don't really know the tone of drama until it premieres, do we? Just like 'Romance Town' didn't like it at all, after it premiered, I find the title fitting to the story.

Jung Seo-won has such tired puppy dog eyes in the above photo which catches one's attention but there's something in the whole look that makes him look strong.
I was totally into him in Secret Garden. Look forward to seeing him on screen again.
I wonder if anyone-else thinks he looks like the Japanese pop group Arashi's Sakurai...

i bet heartstring's name was derived from a designer bag here in the Philippines and perhaps, it was a Filipina who suggested that one!

so who was the person who suggested heartstring?
who ever it was they should get some kind of reward, like being able to make love to any member of the cast

I wanted it to be "I'm with Stupid" but seriously, I just want it to hurry up and be released! I mean, with having to wait for Takumi-kun 4 until this Friday, I'm dying from lack of entertainment. Omo! I love Jung Yong-hwa even though towards the end of 'You're Beautiful" he started to get a little annoying. It'll be good to see him in a strong, albeit ruder, character.
