Yoon Eun-hye and Kang Ji-hwan to headline new drama

Aw, yeah! Small screen heavyweights Yoon Eun-hye (My Fair Lady, Coffee Prince) and Kang Ji-hwan (Coffee House, Hong Gil-dong) together for a romantic comedy? Count me in! That is, if all of the dramas premiering in May don’t wage a war in my brain and make me implode from abusing fourth-dimension travel.
Yoon and Kang have signed on to upcoming SBS Monday-Tuesday drama Lie to Me [내게 거짓말을 해봐] which I guess is more accurately, “Try Lying to Me.” But that doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, as far as titles go. It used to be called Sweet Scandal for a while, but decided to go back to its original title. Either way, it’s a rom-com helmed by PD Kim Soo-ryong (Green Rose, Father’s House), along with writer Kim Yeh-ri, who was the youngest writer on the team for Heading to the Ground.
The drama is about a single woman who propagates a con that she’s married, for reasons yet unknown. Yoon will be playing the lead Gong Ah-jung, and Kang will be playing Hyun Ki-hoon, who is “misunderstood” to be her husband. I don’t know why she needs to be married, but I’m assuming she uses him as her husband-beard in order to convince someone of the fact? I certainly hope this contract-marriage-as-a-con can be as laugh-out-loud funny as I want it to be. Ki-hoon is described as the standard k-drama hero: a gruff hotel chaebol. Boring on paper, but Kang is great at comedy, so I’m sure he won’t be your standard issue Darcy. Well, I’m hoping that’s the case anyway, because he’s great at quirky.
Kang has reportedly cleared up his issues with the Korean Entertainment Producers’ Association, finally allowing him to sign onto a new drama, free of contract disputes. Let’s keep it that way, buddy. For jb’s sake, and those of us who have to buy her drinks every time you pull out of a drama.
Lie to Me follows Midas and premieres on May 9 on SBS. Damn, May’s gonna be busy, busy, busy, busy!

You do have it right! Whats not to love abot may and spring. Especially now that YEH's going to be seen. yep, your right in deed. Though I'm not a big fan of mr guy she's being paired with. Was hoping for Park Shi Hoo...But I was afriad he'd get the (perennial) second lead... *Sigh* anywhoooo YEH!! Pun intended.

can't wait! been a while since I last watched Yoon's dramas.. hope this will be better than Fair Lady..
Oh, and let's not forget another 'busy' (I think Lee Min Ho's city hunter is also premiering on May..) correct me if I'm wrong though =D

She is one of the writers who actually was chosen by broadcasting station (SBS) in a formal process, which is considered a very difficult selection process, unlike many writers who enter the business through other channels. While the writer was selected to work in 'Heading To The Ground', it is said that she left the project in the beginning. She was to gain some experience with 'Heading To The Ground' as an assistant writer, but left without working on it. So for anyone who didn't like 'Heading To The Ground', please note that she wasn't the one who actually worked on it.^^ "

you know this is such a relief cuz I was so about to bail out because of the writer...I promised myself that I would never watch anything by the writer of that trainwreck ever again but was seriously conflicted as a Yoon Eun Hye completist but this just made things more hard for me because of the other dramas I want to watch too

I saw that article as well. I'm glad they decided to clear that up since Heading To The Ground didn't do so well so they needed the writer to distance herself from it. Which, for the sake of her career, is a good move.

Actually, the writer for "Lie To Me" is not the same writer for Heading To The Ground. She actually was only there to learn but she quit at the beginning because, I think, of disputes with the writer. The LTM writer actually had to be selected by the station to get the job, which is like a very hard thing to do compared to those who get a job due to connections.
On another note, it is believed that the Secret Garden director/PD is also working on this drama.....

YEH just needs a good script and PD; she was quite good in "Coffee Prince."
KJH got tiresome in HGD, but I'm going to blame that on the sub-par writing and directing which got KJH doing the same mannerisms over and over again.
In "Coffee House," KJH was annoying and delightful at the same time.
If the writing and direction is good, this could be a winner since the pairing of the leads is a good one.

YEH and KJH omo..my dream come true, they both are at the top of the list of my fave actors. Two actors who are able to create tremendous chemistry with co-star.
Just ignore about Heading to the ground.

this is the best news everrr! I loved KJH even more after his stint in CH. ok his character in there was frustrating, but in a bizarrely random and omg-i-can't-believe-he-pulled-that way. plus, i like YEH cos she's one of the most likable actresses on my list;)

I want to watch all four dramas you listed as premiering in May!! I like all the actors.. 3 & 4 I will definitely watch no matter what, and 1 & 2 I will give them a shot and decide whether to continue based on how good the script is.

Five actually, but so far I'm interested in 4 out of 5 of them. The one with Lee Da-hae and Yoochun is just not working for me. It's story is just not one that has me hooked.
