My vote is in for "aggravating". I haven't finished the series, partly because there were some other things that I didn't trust about the drama, but this was not one that I would feeling okay about the spoilers above.

OMO, that is absolutely insane. Production work in an HOUR? And the IV drip? Sounds like a drama in its own right..

When hero Ji Hoon got the video tape of evidence why didn't he give it to the police instead of calling the killer to his house so she can kill him. I didn't see ep 20 with sub yet so I didn't understand why. His death doesn't make any sense.

jeeezz. at least finish the episode few days before the broadcast. they're tiring the actors too much that they needed an IV, for me it doesn't sounds right. where is human rights? no matter how busy they are, they should plan the filming where they can have enough sleep and be able to function like human being usually does.

Aside from some comical and highly cartoon like situations that occurred during the replacements of evidence, I thought this drama was good.

But the last episode was a joke though. with flip flopping scenes in attempt to capture the emotions of viewers. Some scenes hinting at the emotional connection between the two main character, which were forced, really took down the quality of the episode.

They should have stuck to the original script.

But I'm not one of those people who complained about the TV color bars incident though. It was the added emotional? scenes that was more annoying.

Hoping for a better PSY drama next~^^

Having gotten recently involved with editing the footage of a short movie, I cannot fathom editing an hour plus episode in less than an hour..... Is there a reason that the episodes are even shot up to the day of airing?

After reading the spoiler, I decide not to watch the final episode. To me, it's a very selfish, sad and stupid ending of scraficing himself to catch the killer. How can he leave the woman he loved behind like that?

Why?
Because I never cry while watching dramas but I literally cried my eyes out the during whole entire episode because it was so heartbreaking.
It was definitely a noble thing for PSY's character to take his own life and the ending was absolutely BRILLIANT but more than that it was horrifically sad.
I cried for the whole hour straight and now my eyes are swollen.
It was aggravatingly beautiful.
I don't I'll ever forget this drama and its ending.

i'd say it was a mix of both..brilliant and aggravating. he didn't have to go as far as to die...he already caught her pouring the drugs in -_____-" it was pretty frustrating, yet i have to say that it was amazing. As for the sequel nonsense...I mean...they cut open his body and everything. he's dead lol there's no sequel without the genius at the core of the drama........

The ending was faaaaaaar away than I thought it would be.. cause this drama was based on: with your brain find the truth about there death but the last ep. was it let's commit suicide so that crazy chick get's in jail.. WHY come on.. he was smarter than that.. even there is an season 2 .. The lead guy is death.. =(

Will someone please explain to me why do korean dramas have such insane shooting schedules?
I know the immediate answer would be to be able to change the script according to the preferences of the viewers and to get better ratings. But have you seen a drama where that actually helped? Because I haven't. Never seen a subsequent change in the script to make ratings climb significantly. Never seen a case where the delays and exhaustion of the cast and crew were worth it.
Usually, it is the quality of the latest episodes of the drama that suffers. And that's the only constant result.
But somehow everybody continues to do this and brag about how much they worked, that some cast member passed out and had to be taken to a hospital and so on. Are they trying to make the viewers pity them so they can watch the show? Does turning the cast into martyrs do the job? I just don't get it ...

Ahneeyo~ I don't like the ending! Although it's a brilliant idea but I don't like it! It is so heartbreaking. I can't stop crying while watching the last episode. Why can't Dr. Yoon Ji Hoon find another way to catch that @#-%@* woman! Hate the last part also when she slapped detective Choi Yi Han.
Overall, I like this drama, from Epi 1 to 19. Worth to watch ^^

Thanks Drama beans for the ending! :), truth to be told, i dun really like the ending...although it was for the 'final' good...sacrifing the main lead does not necessary meant it will be good...i thought the case dragged on too long, i was sort of like hoping it would be more of like CSI drama...lol...more mysterious cases..but atlas it was not to be..but nevertheless i enjoyed the acting of the cast! They were Awwsome....hope they will really get good rest and replenish their energy for their future drama!

I just finished all of Sign and although the ending was bittersweet, it was definitely something unexpected (which is also good in my book becuz predictable things become boring usually). I think there were too many side cases and they have focused more on the main storyline. They probably could have done it in a 16 episodes. I love Jung Gyu Woon, I loved him in Dr. Champ and Loving You a Thousand Times. I hope he does another drama soon.

feeling rather bummed out and flat about the ending. 20hrs of watching and this?!?!?!?!!?

i get about the "noble cause" of ji-hoon's death BUT i think there should be another way to nail the culprit. especially since he already saw her in the mirror dispensing poison into his tea... and he's supposed to be a genius?!?! gosh. Self-sacrificing as it is (due to the belief in the pursuit of truth, right over wrong, yada yadda), his method could have been in vain, lest the bad people managed to get hold of his video evidence (seeing from previous episodes that they do manipulate crime scenes). oh right, this IS ONLY a drama afterall, and our good guys will always manage to find THE CLUE amidst all odds. *rolls eye*

at the end of eps 19, i sorta already guessed that ji-hoon will use himself as a bait but i never expected him to really die. since he's a genius and such, i thought perhaps he'll have an antidote at hand or use some deception/ smart way to force a confession from the culprit so that the police can nail her? gah. never expect him to die so fast in the opening of eps 20. it's not that i'm the sort that only expects good, fairytale-like endings for all dramas but i feel kinda bummed out with this ending in SIGN.

and the story could've been tighter and ended at 16 eps. is it just me (?) but i've been under the impression that SIGN is a 16 eps drama, instead of 20. when the crime wasn't fully solved at eps 16, i felt that the subsequent eps were just stretching it. its like, when can the horrible woman and her father be thrown into jail, damnit! ^_#

didn't expect that the production team filmed until almost its air-time. shocking! wat a mad, mad, mad rush for crew and cast! tsk2. even though korean producation teams work with a very tight deadline, this is really madness. kudos to the crew who managed to edit and air the last episode, even though there were those glitches! hah, truth be told, i didn't realise that those glitches were on-air during broadcast... i thought it was during uploading at the source that i watched, oops. definitely unacceptable glitches during actual broadcast, good that there will be a re-broadcast with all glitches cleaned up. now, perhaps the-powers-might-be will include more scenes to satisfy us viewers (poor da-kyung got her hopes raised and bam! the guy died. geez.)? haha, wistful thinking on my part.

WHAT?! THE MAIN ACTOR DIED??! OMO OMO

It's either aggravatingly brilliant or brilliantly aggravating. I first thought it's kinda ... dumb for a genius to be a sacrificed lamb, but looking from another way, if justice is what he lives for, then it's his life.

I actually like bittersweet ending cause I'm kinda bored with the fluffy sweet endings recently. I like it with minimum dramatic love relationship.

Conclusion: Awesome drama ! This proves that drama without spoilers is the best. My patience really pays off well.

Sign stateside is only up to episode 12 or 13 ( starting this coming week) I've mostly been irritated and intrigued by the drama. They keep trying to get some depth in there but the actors seem odd or off at times. I am all about the writing and that of course is the problem with visual dramas . . . anyway this ending where the "hero" sacrifices himself is so fricking annoying. It's good to know so I can quit watching now. But also super irritating because there no other dramas I'm watching!!!!

I remember when I was LMAO watching the expression of the elders when they cornered Dr.Yoon & Dakyung after finding the grandpa's body in the closet.. and the background music for that scene.. Ridiculous!!
They ended the eps like that.. and in the next eps, the elders' grandchildren begged them to stop whatever they're about to do.. Duh??? o__O!!

But I must say that the ending was great.. I never cried for watching a drama that much before Sign.. I really enjoyed the last four eps of this drama.. ^^

I really enjoyed this drama. Initially I was a little indifferent to this show but I'm glad that I persevered through the early episodes. I actually enjoyed the side cases which were interesting and engaging and which enabled the show to progress without feeling draggy.

I'm rather neutral about the ending; as others have said, it is bittersweet. It was sad that the two leads did not have a happy ending as I really liked them as a couple. However, given the earlier life changing events that profoundly affected Ji Hoon, I can understand why he was driven to solving the case at all costs. That being said, it would have been better if he managed to ingeniously solve the case without dying or miraculously coming back to life (which would have been really lame and corny).

Overall, I really enjoyed this show. I enjoyed it much more than any American CSI type show going around. Obviously, they are very different shows apart from the "criminal" element, but I'll still make comparisons. With "Sign", I was drawn into the lives of the characters which made me care about the story and which made the show engaging on an emotional and personal level. While shows like CSI might be interesting, they are certainly lacking in those regards.

I suggest that people give this show a go. The first few episodes are pretty average but after that it absolutely takes off... :)

Well, like some others, I figured that he was going to set the real murderer up but didn't really think he'd go so far as to DIE to put this loony behind bars. Because I suspected that it MIGHT turn out badly, I read the spoiler first- I knew that if he really did die, I would be a blubbering mess at the end so thank you very much for saving the world from my weepiness. Why couldn't it be a prolonged dream sequence- where Kim Ah-joong has a bad nightmare about Park Shin-yang but voila! wakes up and all is well? They continue with their blossoming romance, she gets a chance at happiness, he becomes a kinder gentler more human guy. Oh, and the murderer somehow ends up in a fiery inferno in her apartment, hanging out the window screaming for help, and Shin-yang and Ah-joong wave a friendly little wave and let the flames incinerate the "...." (rhymes with witch). At least ONE romance made it through til the end (I hope).

I think the ending of SIGN was horribly done. I can't believe that SBS could finish filming the last episode a hour just before it was aired on television. Aside from the sound and pictures of the last episode, many events did not make sense. Apart of it being sad, the drama could not have killed the hero more non-sensically than in this fashion. On the surface, he seemed to die for a noble cause, but does someone have to die to bring the criminal to justice and the truth to the public? I realize the wealthy and the upper classes have alot of power in the Korean society, but are the effects so powerful that no authentic justice and truth could be tolerated? The hero in the drama gave everything he could to chase for the truth and justice. Is it fair to him that he faces death? If anyone tries to chase after the truth and justice in the Korean society, do they have to face unfair treatment? I think this is a question for many to think of.

Furthermore, there was alot of people in SIGN that stopped the hero and heroine to bring the criminal (culprit) to justice like the director at NFS (National Forensic Service). He was bought by the potential candidate for presidency for many times. After the truth came out, nothing happened to him, except for he had to leave NFS. He never had to face any trial or prisonment. Again, is that fair to the hero and heroine?
Also, the guy with thick glasses at NFS exchanged the piece of blue cushion fur during the evidence testing process. He indirectly forced the hero to become a bait for the criminal to kill. Isn't there any precautions for him? I'm not a religious person, but I believe that anything you do will come back to you at the end. But, I have to say that the others at NFS doesn't know this truth. With so much discussion, I want to emphasize that the drama does not encourage people to believe in justice and following the law. With money, you can do anything, even covering the truth of killing so many people.

They totally jumped the shark after episode 16.

I only half-watched the last 4 episodes because I got so turned off.

It's well past a week that "SIGN" was over. I still can't get over the horrible ending. There's one question I have, I thought SBS is going to re-broadcast the final epidsode of SIGN, when are they going to do that? Or, have they done that already? I don't live in Korea and I have no idea of knowing. But, I've searched all the forums and no one has mentioned anything about the re-airing of the final episode. If they plan to re-air the episode, like the others, I hope they can re-film the ending into a more sensical one. With alot of technical problems, the story of the last episode seems to be written last minute with alot of acting on Kim-Ah-Joong shoulders. I can't imagine anyone can go and collect the body of someone you love, cut it up, and take the organs out for weighing.

Dr. Ji hoon could've chosen better option to get that insane woman behind bars. offering his precious life, leaving behind the woman/people he loves is not a very wise choice.
and if the idol singer who died at the beginning is 21 years old, then that crazy woman who killed him must be younger than him since she's been calling her "oppa". how could a young woman like that kills someone without feeling regretful or scared at the very least with her ever innocent-looking smile.
and i don't really understand the reason why she had to kill the singer, she's either hated him to the core, or she's just purely mentally disabled that drives her into killing more people.

I agree with you that Yoon Ji Hoon could of chosen a better way to catch the insane woman. Or, the scriptwriters could of taken more time to write an ending that matched the earlier part of the drama.
