Manny has its love triangle

Another cast member has been added to the upcoming tvN drama Manny: model-actress Byun Jung-soo (Pasta), who reunites with her Bad Couple buddy, Choi Jung-yoon (Smile, You) — albeit as rivals, this time.
The drama stars Seo Ji-seok (Gloria, OB-GYN) as a proud New Yorker who’s employed as Seoul’s top manny –a man nanny — who works for and lives with a single mom with two kids (Choi). Romance and comedy ensue.
Byun once again plays a confident, assertive woman who puts her career ahead of the desire to marry. (She played one such woman — though a less likable one — in Last Scandal of My Life as the old flame.) Her Janice character is the CEO of a modeling agency, who has a tendency to swear a lot.
Janice has a romantic storyline with Seo Ji-seok’s character, which is sure to put her in conflict with Choi Jung-yoon (below), who plays a single mom juggling work with child care. Both ladies will be dealing with a noona romance; Seo is younger than both by several years. (Choi is 33, Byun is about to turn 37, and Seo is 29.)
Choi said, “As I experience my thirties, I’ve been thinking more about and wanting marriage. Playing a mother will be a big, new challenge.” It’s not her first time playing a mom, though; she was one in 2007’s Bad Couple, where Byun played her stalwart best friend and stood up for her when her character was getting cheated on by her bastard husband.
I like both actresses, who both have easy, approachable screen presences. Now let’s see them both falling for the same hot young manny. While the promo info is worded ambiguously as to who the main pairing is, I’m pretty willing to bet it’s the two below. (See how they’re even standing the same! And the couple that poses together…stays together?)
The drama premieres on April 13, airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and will have 16 episodes.

ahh, the love triangle...
I dont know. I've never been a fan of an effective love triangle only because I like happy endings for all of the character I root for and that never seems to happen with them...
If anything, the third wheel always ends up alone or getting the annoying evil b*tch character.
Ahh the pains of a third wheel hahaha :D
It seems interesting though the premise... I like him on variety shows so I'll check out the first episode!

Can I say how much I love Byun's character description? She "has a tendency to swear a lot"? I love her already.

Seo Ji Suk is YOUNGER than the two of them!? who would have thought!?
funny feeling that main pairing is choi and seo because dramas usually don't have us rooting for the career-focused gal, and make us sympathize with the more "harried" mother.

I'm looking forward to this more than similarly themed Maids.
I mean, one it's called The MANNY. I mean...how do you not watch something called MANNY. And also, I like how it's the professional, suave man who's working for the woman. Not the most original switcherwoo, but different enough.
And also for purely shallow reasons, Seo Ji-seok... is love.

Is it me or does Seo resemble Kim Hyun Joong with his doggy perm?
Anyways, romantic love triangles don't get me excited as they did before, but I LOVE Byun. And her personality description is so WIN. Independent career woman vs adorable momma + MANNY!? Not two chaebol men fighting over a young nanny!? It's actual two woman and a manny!? Hooked.
All I need is Jung Soo Young. We need the ultimate comedic factor!

I love Byun Jung-soo for reasons that are beyond me. So call me crazy, but I wouldn't have minded seeing her be the leading lady this once. . . But if she doesn't get the Manny, give her side love story just for us crazy fans. Is that too much to ask?

I endured "Shoot for the Star" for her..well... and for my sister. But if Ms Byun asks - it was just for her.
She can really do physical comedy, I hope they write 2 complex roles for the actresses in this triangle.

Who thinks there will be hot shower scenes? Cos being a manny, he's going to be all hot and sweaty after cooking, cleaning and scrubbing? Nothing like a cold shower or a soak in a hot tub to make our manny all man-ly again.

It kind of bothers me that I know the single mom is going to win out over the CEO, but wouldn't it be cool if Korea, just once or something, would make the single mom a successful CEO? Like, yes women, you can have children and be an amazing businesswoman without falling into the category of b!tch! You don't have to put one dream aside to fulfill another!

Ok, Byun Jung-soo scared the hell outta me in Pasta. I don't know whether I'd like to ship her with Suh Ji-suk, no matter how winsome her character may turn out. Haha!
Dramas of this nature can barely hold my attention for TOO long, but if I could last 30 episodes of the train-wreck that was Gloria for a post-Dr Wang SJS, I can hopefully watch this in its entirety. Yay!
Next time, please pick a darker, gangsterly role, SJS. I know you've got it in ya. *squees at the thought*
