49 Days begins filming

The upcoming SBS fantasy-romance drama 49 Days began filming last week and held its first outdoor shoots on January 31, about six weeks in advance of its premiere when it takes over Sign’s Wednesday-Thursday timeslot.
Lee Yo-won (Queen Seon-deok) stars as a woman who gets possessed by the spirit of another woman whose body has fallen into a coma after surviving a car crash (played by Nam Gyuri), just a week before her planned wedding.
Jung Il-woo is cast as the pretty-boy reaper who is there to guide souls to the afterlife; he offers up the deal that if the woman can find three people outside of her family who truly love her and are moved to tears, she can come back to life. I’m making the leap in supposing that the deal extends for 49 days, which is the time it takes for a life to move on to the hereafter, according to Buddhist beliefs.
The cast also includes Jo Hyun-jae in his first role back from military service, Seo Ji-hye (Kim Suro), and Bae Soo-bin (Dong Yi, also pictured below with Nam Gyuri — I’m guessing he’s the fiancé). Aside from Nam Gyuri, it’s a pretty appealing cast, and with the creative team behind it, I’m definitely interested. It’s like Who Are You all over again — which could be a good thing, since I loved Who Are You.
The drama comes from the successful writer-director pairing of So Hyun-kyung and Jo Young-kwang, who worked together for Brilliant Legacy and Prosecutor Princess. Both dramas had passionate fanbases, so if they can tap into that rom-com mojo again, there’s a good chance 49 Days will draw the same kind of fervor. Or so goes the hope.
49 Days will premiere on March 16.

Yay, for Bae Soo Bin!!! I wanted another opportunity to root for him. I felt kinda bad when I jumped onto the Hwan bandwagon in Brilliant Legacy. If anyone but, Lee Seung Gi had been Hwan, I probably would of stuck with the sweet guy Bae Soo Bin was.

OMG YES! I can't believe the rumors of BSB AND Lee Yo-Won being in this are actually true!! Not to sound like an ass to Nam Gyuri (whoever she is) but I really hope Lee gets a lot more screen time. Seeing as how she is the possessed, she should.

*sigh* I love all the stars, but not Lee Yo Won (no offense to her fans though). Jo Hyun Jae and Bae Soo Bin are my favorite actors, I wish they cast a different actress for main lead. Oh well.. I'm still watching no matter what.

nam gyuri started out with a bit of overacting in LIB but toned out well as the drama progressed and hopefully she keeps to that here...my only concern is Lee Yo Won who always comes off very low in energy to me

I really like the cast here especially Jo Hyun Jae, Seo Ji Hye, and Jung Il Woo. But I have to admit when I heard that LYW was cast I was pretty disappointed. :-/ Her character in QSD, did nothing for me. I just could not find myself rooting for her.
I don't know. Maybe this is the drama that will change my opinion of her. We shall see.

I was "meh" with Brilliant Legacy, no offense but I just couldn't dig it. Maybe because I watch with big expectation after the hype built up so much so when I feel it wasn't live up to the hype, I disappointed. But Prosecutor Princess not bad. And I digging this drama casts especially Jung Il Woo and Lee Yo Won. Bae Soo Bin one of redeeming factor for BL & Jo Hyun Jae he sometimes wooden but but not bad overall. Seo ji Hye, so-so actress IMO but she attractive and likable. Nam Gyu Ri, sad to say, is the weakest link among them. Dont like her at all in LIB but I give her another chance, she still new after all.

With you there, but with me she's not only 'meh' but there's the way she writes her male leads.
Like Lee Seung-ki in Brilliant Legacy shoving Han Hyo-joo around the club, tripping her up, pinning her against the wall and yet... It was brushed off as though it had never happened. Second, everything about Park Shi-hoo's character in Prosecutor Princess. Yet the women are dense and easily forgiving. I just don't like the kinds of characters she writes.
But then hey, that's just me, some things bother me more than they do others and vice versa.

Yeah, I watched BL and enjoyed it, but I don't think I could have forgiven the male lead if it was anyone but Lee Seung gi playing him.
And I stopped watching PP early on, because I hated Ma Hye-ri and was creeped out by In-woo (what part of stalking someone is romantic?).
Still, I'm willing to give 49 days a few episodes - maybe it will be a pleasant surprise.

This has strong line-up stars, perhaps the best compare to its competitors royal family and thorn tree birds. Except perhaps for seo ji-hye and (ewww blegh!) nam gyu-ri. Basically me like all male stars here, with lee yo-won a worthy companion for them. They high class stars in Korean, except perhaps seo ji-hye and (ewww blegh!) nam gyu-ri.

I don't care about shitty contrivances, lackluster actresses (I'm looking at YOU Lee Yo-won), or the potential to waste a perfectly good fantasy element (ahem Secret Garden)
As long as Jung Il-woo and Bae Soo-bin are in the SAME DRAMA (still can't get over it), I'll be watching and most probably be loving.

Sounds interesting. The only one i know from the cast Jung Il-woo, but I like this for the premise. Deadlines put extra pressure and a nice angst. And its perfect because by then, Dream high and My Princess will have finished, and I need another another drama to fill the time of those.

I really want to be excited for this, I mean Bae Soo-bin alone makes it worthwhile but Lee Yo-won kinda kills it for me. I haven't seen her lately so maybe she's improved but IMHO she can't really act. Her acting feels very stiff so I don't really want to watch this, but if I'm bored and I'm missing my Second Lead Knight in Shining Armor I guess I'll tune in just to see Bae Soo-bin's face. ;)

Bae Soo Bin, Seo Ji Hye, Jung Il Woo, Lee Yo Won, Jo Hyun-Jae . . . this is practically a fusion sageuk cast. I like Jung Il Woo, but I'm (VERY) surprised Jo Hyun-jae isn't the main lead here. I guess he has a minor role? I hope they have multiple romantic couples to make everybody hpapy.
I'm also rather disappointed that Bae Soo Bin would take yet another 2nd rival role, especially I'm sorry, but Sexy Beast > > > Promising Emo Guy ;)

Jo Hyun Jae is the male lead actually . Bae Soo Bin is the second lead and as for Jung Il Woo well he's just going to be the cute reaper I guess . Maybe he will get a romantic storyline with the character of Nam Gyu Ri .. They are both gonna be in soul form through out the drama :D

Hey this drama seems to be from a internet novel called "49 days for a second chance" ! The storyline is very similar! Did anyone know about the novel? It also about a girl who met with an accident and she have 49 days to have someone to recognize her through another girls body and there is also a guy who is the reaper who teach the girls about staff .... Is this drama abstraction of the novel ????

i hope all the cast can play their role as well as possible, i hope no cast will ruin this drama coz this drama looks PERFECT for me.
