Park Shin-yang and Eom Ji-won’s late-night date
by javabeans
Aw, look at the happy, cute couple, before they presumably suffer an acrimonious split and end up hardened versions of themselves when they re-meet a few years later as antagonists in both the professional and personal realm. At least, that’s the setup I get from the descriptions of SBS’s Sign, the medical investigation drama set to air next month.
These photos show the “hidden past” between Park Shin-yang and Eom Ji-won‘s characters, taking the couple on a late-night date on the Namsan cable cars and at Namsan Tower, which are popular date spots. Her character is particularly touched because she’d pegged her boyfriend for the silent type, and is surprised by the special pains he takes in planning their romantic date.
In contrast, the current-day versions of the characters are sharper and more career-oriented: He’s a highly skilled forensic doctor, a cool-headed man of integrity with a prickly personality. She’s now a cold, sophisticated public prosecutor who will no doubt clash with the doctors because she fancies herself the one in charge of the investigations. I bet he begs to differ.
Sign, which also stars Kim Ah-joong, Jung Kyeo-woon, and Jeon Gwang-ryul, premieres on January 5.

I'm in the same boat, but that would have been REALLY awkward. My mind lapsed that Park Shin-yang was already married... Any-hoos, they look cute as an imaginary, drama couple!

Exactly since Park Shin Yang's married in real life, I got extra confused. I thought maybe Eom Ji Won was a former girlfriend!

YES! I think so, too! Lolz. (SMH) It's not like that way when this couple seem like they're dating, oh well.

Can't lie. The image of Eom Ji-won sitting on her, erm, rocket is now burnt into my mind!!
Kind of a shame that they won't be paired together in the drama. Their rom-com chemistry would be absolutely delightful.

there can still be drama in a ...drama without having to break up happy couples. Just give them a lot of stress from parents, exes, etc.

I'm really looking forward to watching this drama. I love Park Shin-yang. I've missed him since "Painter of the Wind". He's a very talented actor. Fighting!

wait... so does this mean a potential love line between Kim Ah-Joong and Jung Kyeo-woon? That might be interesting to see. Or will JKW be the wonky third leg of a love triangle between him, Ah-joong and Park Shin-yang?

I'm excited already just by reading the description of the setup.
I have extremely soft spot for those alpha characters (cold, mean, calculating, difficult to understand, on top of their games), and adore drama which pairs equally strong great characters.
And I love Park Shin Yang ever since Lovers in Paris!
If the story line doesn't ruin those characters like Dr. Champ (I love the female Doctor in the beginning but not as the story progresses, and I adore Dr. Cripple in the begining but become dissappointed with the story as it pairs him with a dissapointingly weak female character) this show might become one of my favourites in 2011.
Keeping my fingers cross...

I prefer him to be wearing an executive shirt (he really look good in that, better than those sports clothes) and shaking his cute butt as he did in the karaoke scene in Loving you a thousand times. That was a real scream.

Aw. It just reminds how sad breakups can be. It's even sadder to look back at those happy times and wonder what went wrong. :(
