Firstly I want to thank JB, for her hard work, and for all the “Re-capers that have made the year 2010 a more bearable year to live, with your love and hard work towards us the audience at large, a special shout goes to “aberdeen_angus”, (Girl you Know you are my “Bestest) recap Lady), and to “samsooki “, dude I hope that you know how much this place lacks without you being around!!!!!
* Last Rave/Rant Of The year*
I am one of those “Proud Guys ( who watch dramas. Oh the horror!!!) ”, who has been one of Dramabeans followers for the past 3 years, and in those 3 years I have notice that there is a real “Core of Fans” and some of them have been around for the past 4 years.
We the “old timers” have grown very protective of not only “JB, GF, and also the recap staff).
Dramabeans in “format” it is not what it used to be, for some of you the “GUI” that you see in front of your screen, is all you know about this site, but there was a time that Dramabaeans look completely different, nevertheless we are very happy still.
As far as the “Content” is concern Dramabeans “Has” and let me say it again “Has” the best “Content Format” from all the rest of the sites that cater to the “Drama Fans” worldwide.
Dramabeans is a place where we can engage not only our sense of “Fantasy” but first and foremost our “Intellect”, this is the only site that does not only cater to the “Out of their mind Screaming Fan-Girls”, but also to the serious student of the different arts that are involve in crating our beloved dramas, e,g (script writing, music OST's. photography, costumes, set design, architectural locations, and last but not the least “actor/actress” choice, but the most important of them all”Talent”.
Well seems like Dramabeans has being gaining a lot of attention and in last year or so and with more “Fame” comes a lot of “Unwanted Attention”, seems to me that lately we have seen a surge of people that has come around to delivered an “Unhealthy “ dose of bashing and trashing “JB and her Crew”, how many times have we read int the last couple of months comments like “JB stop hatting this show” or “JB Stop hatting my Idol” or “People here are stupid” or “You guys suck”!!!!
Well as an old timer I can venture to say and I feel that I speak in behalf of of a lot of you out there, that if Dramabeans was to turn into a site that caters just to the “Out of their mind Screaming Fan-Girls” I will be the first to live this site, since the thing that I appreciate the most is their “well crafted and unbiased commentary”, JB and the crew are equal opportunity commentators, they trash and give praise on “Individual Merit” they do not single out just one particular individual, but I know a lot of of “Hardcore Fans” feel otherwise.
And that brings me to my final closing;
“To All The Haters”, If you do not like the “Format and Content here at Dramabeans, well then your are free to live and never come back, but if you come her just to “Fangirl, and be absolutely idiotic, stupid and mean spirited”, then you guys will be not welcome to this place and be prepare to be ridicule at your own risk!!!!!!
Last but not least, to all my beloved Friends and Foe’s, may this coming year be full of “Health and Contentment” and full of peace!!!!!

I'm a newbie at Dramabeans but I have to agree with most of your statements. For those who just wish to fangirl but not deconstruct, please find an alternative platform.

I really have to agree with what you're saying. While I am a newcomer to the site, I have a sister who studies cinematography (in college) and I REALLY appreciate the deconstruction aspect of this site.
I LOVE the viewpoints and insights of the two writers and while I would like to kindly tell the screaming Kim Hyun-Joong fangirls to GO AWAY, *ahem* I really don't worry about the situation too much :D Knowing JB and GF's personalities, they aren't the kind to change the format of their site and give up their viewpoints, caving into popularity.
I do understand your concern though, and I do know what it feels like to have to sit there and watch the decay of an organization, group, ect. that you were once so proud of :( BUT don't worry, everything will be fine, and I will be right there at your side warding off the screaming fangirls :D :D :D HAPPY NEW YEAR

After your post I realized that it has already been 3 years since I am following dramabeans web-site. Time passes so fast...
Even though I don't watch much dramas anymore due to heavy school work I like reading JB post just to keep myself updated. In comparison with other new sites with similar format, dramabeans covers wider range of TV shows and events, and gives reasonable critique about them. I wouldn't say my opinion always the same as JB & GF, but the effort and time they put into this site should be appreciated.
I enjoyed year end reviews from other reviewers as they gave a view of some dramas not covered here.

On another note, MSOAN really sucked overall, didn't it? But I rather enjoyed the last 15 minutes. Especially Kim Jae Wook when he drove JGS's bus. That image was just too hilarious! KJW in his suit and tie driving around that bulky vehicle with JGS's head on his shoulder...

Anybody knows about Norwegian Wood the movie?. I am curious because it's the one book i like the least of all Murakami's novels, so I kind of curious how they actually translate it into the movie.
As I'm writing is, KBS drama award is on KBSWorld. Soong Jong ki (cute!cute!cute!) is one of the MCs along with the guy from comrade and Lee Da hae (somehow she looks a bit different, is that a new nose? (heh, maybe I am just imagining things..

Just found out that Gong Yoo's movie will be shown in the U.S. - but to my everlasting disappointment, the closest theater it will be at is in Atlanta, which is 6 hours away. Speaking of which, I'd love to know if there are any other Dramabeans readers in the deep south!

One of the best gifts that 2010 brought to me was DB. Must say this past year has been great cause it was when I discovered this awesome site and community(huggles to all of you my new friends:D). I look forward to a new year of ooohing, awwing,swooning and heehee occasionally grumbling with all of you heehee!
I always make extravagant New years resolutions which I never stick to but this year I m only making one simple resolution and that is to take one day at a time,breath and smell the roses(not literally haha or maybe literally kekeke)

Stick with it. Admittedly I skipped through some of the boring construction business backdoor politics scenes. Once everyone gets into position, the series kicks into high gear and doesn't let up. Just finished ep. 43 last night.

Happy New Year Everybody!
Thanks for being my point of sanity in the crazy world of K-drama's.
Thanks for the wonderful, funny and sometimes deep comments. It makes me feel like watching a drama with good friends.
And above all thanks Javabeans and Girlfriday for this blog and all the hard work you guys put into making it what it is now.
I hope you all have a Blessed, Happy and Healthy 2011!
And may the dramagods please give us drama's that won't dissapoint us (too much). Or make us pull our hairs out or force us into drinking soju.

Also, speaking of MSOAN, I just discovered this amazing indie band which I think would have been perfect for the soundtrack - Jieun and Wolves! The actual Mary OST is a weird mix of pop and something-like-Tearliner music that doesn't quite do the job, but this music would have given it way more personality: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bay2suYm7uE

I still can't believe it's 2011 already. Even 2001 feels just like yesterday! Deciding whether or not to make resolutions. Last year, I copped out by telling myself to be more productive, but I realized it was too vague to judge whether or not I have accomplished this. So maybe I'll make more concrete ones this year...
I watched Lovers in Paris, episodes 1-12, 16, and 20 this past week. It was sort of average for me. I couldn't really get into the main couple because I became obsessed with the lonely Lee Dong Gun/Soohyuk. Every time I see Taeyoung and Kijoo being together, my mind keeps on screaming, "Oh no! Soohyuk will be hurt!" I was never really that impressed with Lee Dong Gun until this. He didn't stand out for me in Sweet 18 (which I didn't like enough to finish anyways) and his character in My Boyfriend is Type B was irredeemably horrible in an already horrible movie.
