Got a new haircut last week as a Christmas present to myself. New stylist was up late doing extra haircuts for Christmas money. She offered me a special hair treatment. "Uh, okay." So I channeled my inner Mu Gyul and let the (very pretty!) boy at the shampoo station massage my scalp for 20 minutes. If only MSOAN was like that!
I would watch 20 minutes of Mu Gyul getting his hair conditioned. Then we could have 20 minutes of Mary getting her hair conditioned by Mu Gyul. Then the two of them could gang up on Jung In and condition his hair. There. An hour's episode spent happily. Anybody want to hire me as the new writer?

ahhh phew I m so glad I m getting so much support to cut my hair here on DB (*cough* my mother and sisters dont want me to cut my hair*cough*) but now I think I totally will cut it(though it ll probably have to wait after xmas but before the new year).
Oh I bet cutting it short was very liberating(I can imagine how awesome it would be to take 5 minute showers with short hair)
Now all I have to do is find the perfect bob a la korean style:D

I'm in the middle watching bad guy right now. No, I've not reached that famous "bad ending". The characters in this series are developed really well. I love it. I'm enjoying Kim Nam Gil's acting here. And Kim Jae-wook!! Some say I can have many glimpses of Kim Jae-wook statue at MSOAN, boo if only I have more reason to watch it :( :)

It's a great drama that falls on its face in the ending stretch.
Still TOTALLY worth it, imo. Kim Jae-wook was awesome, the production was great, and there were a lot of compelling dynamics in play. Just kind of squint and let the ending pass you by. :|

First off, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
There's a website for bookreaders called "The Book Seer". It's for when you've finished a satisfying read but don't know where to go next. You type in what you just finished and it gives you suggestions on what else you might enjoy.
I'm wondering if there's an app like this for kdramas. For instance, I'm about done with a murder mystery and would probably enjoy watching another one, but I don't know all the shows past and present that are in the same genre and I don't feel like spending a lot of time hunting down what to watch next.
If there isn't an app for that, someone out there needs to get to work on that. Think of the possibilities.

By the way, in case you were wondering, don't do your Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. People are really grouchy and don't remember to take their headphones with them so they don't have to listen to each other. I watched people fighting while I was listening to some happy Eminem, and I pitied their lack of foresight to bring their own music with them so they couldn't hear the subtle brainwashing pumped into the overhead mall music. I checked my mail. Apparently, they don't deliver today. Or tomorrow. Poor T.O.P is stuck at the FedEx station tonight downtown Memphis (where probably everyone else's packages are stuck).
I ordered the new CD. It is supposed to come in the 10th of next month! The 10th! Have I mentioned my impatience problem? And my pyromania tendencies? Sigh. I guess its the best YesAsia can do. (Whatever happened to 'sometimes your best just isn't good enough?' Why are our standards falling? I blame No Child Left Behind.)
I guess now I have to mastermind a raid for the warehouse downtown. Again. (Don't ask.)

All I want for Christmas is for some kind soul to tell me how to safely DL k-dramas w/eng subs on my Mac. (Oh, and world peace!) I've already watched all of the k-dramas which appeal to me that are decent quality (in terms of resolution) on the various streaming sites-- now it's time to graduate to DL-ing, but I need a little help from my friends. 1) Download VLC media player. cnet.com is a good site.
2) sign up at am-addiction forum
3) make sure you save the .avi and .srt files in the same folder and give them the same name. ex : badcouple.avi and badcouple.srt
4) In the vlc player, click media, then click open file, then click on the episode you want to play. If the .srt and the .avi files are in the same location and have the same name, the subs will start playing automatically.

install.
Alternatively, download Perian http://www.perian.org/ - and install - this will enable Quicktime to view about 90% of the files out there.
Okay, join am-addiction. If you happen to have a megaupload account, log into your account before logging into am-addiction and you'll be able to use your premium download speed and not have limits. If you use Firefox, try the add-on DownLoadThemAll - which enhances Firefox downloads.
Pick a drama - download.
If the subs aren't listed at am-addiction, then try WithS2's website to see if they have done them, or HaruHaru, or go to d-addicts and fish around the subtitle section to see where they might be found.
Make a nice folder for the drama - stuff all the avi files and srt files in that folder. If you feel like renaming things so that the subs load automatically, then match the avi and srt file names (like episode1.avi episode1.srt) otherwise use Advanced File Open, browse to the avi file, click on open subtitles, browse to the srt file - click ok a few times and you should be watching!
If you are interested in a currently running program, then join soompi. The forum for that show will generally be able to point you at who is subbing, the status of the subs and who has the files.

for more recent dramas and downloads which aren't too heavy, please check out http://mediumquality.blogspot.com/ it doesn't have much but she works solo (with the help of one person occasionally). she's also fast and the subs are there too.=D
i get my DLs from there. all her vids have been re-encoded to MQ but the quality is quite good for laptop/desktop viewing...=D

Dear Santa,
If I woke up to find Jeon Tae-soo or Kang Dong-won wrapped in ribbon underneath my tree, I would not be upset at all. In fact, this Christmas would easily go down as the Best Christmas Ever.

I'm afraid, we can't divulge that information, Ms. Viola. After all that "fart talk" Kang Mu-Gyul decided to sue us for what he called "libelous" statements regarding his biochemical leak in our car. We do not want to be identified for this reason. Besides, we don't have enough money to pay for a lawyer. Our boss deducted from our pay the re-upholstery cost of his car. Apparently, a stain was left where guitar boy sat. So yes, it was more than gas that came out of him on that fateful day. Which explains the strong stench.
As for re-appearing in the next thread... we would be delighted to stage another kidnapping for everyone's amusement. But our services would cost higher this time as we require to perform pre-kidnapping investigation to ascertain whether the target frequently farts and to make sure the would-be-victim does not consume cheese or any root crop prior to the scheduled date of abduction. One of our colleagues has been smoking lately to help calm himself. We prefer not to toy with the chances of igniting methane while we're in close quarters.

My family and I had out own idea to get a plane (inspired by Mu- Guyl's bus song) but our funding fell through when the family's pharmaceutical business failed. We spent so much money on R&D to come up with vaccines against the Yummy, Moony and Smarty virus but no one, and I mean NO one wants to take it!!! Especially the Moonies, they don't want to be cured at all. *sigh*

Ms. Viola, we charge KW100,000 per participating kidnapper. Sorry that we have to double the professional fee (it used to be 50K) because we have to pay for lawyers since our legal woes are piling up.
However, please know that we have had prior attempts to kidnap Mr. Choi Siwon - many other girls have hired us for that purpose before. They were unsuccessful because we weren't warned then that Mr. Choi was trained in martial arts. :( But we now employ tranquilizer darts for such targets, on the downside it entails additional fees - depending on the dosage that would be needed.
We would like to provide you with a set of questions to ascertain aspects about the kidnapee before we proceed. We trust that you would answer them accurately since you are the wife.
- How many bottles of soju does it take to knock Mr. Choi out? (This has something to do with the amount of tranquilizers that we have to dart him with. We do some sort of ratio-computation: 5 soju bottles:1 dart=Z bottles needed to knock victim unconscious:Zx5)
- How often does Mr. Choi fart? (Please state on a per hour basis)
- Does Mr. Choi snack on cheese or root crops?
- Is he allergic to cigarette smoke?
- Is he allergic to shellfish? (Okay, scratch that!)
- Has he changed his hairstyle? Does he still look like a boy?
- Does he still have 6-pack abs? (We have a new female staff who has a penchant for those. She might get distracted.)
P.S.
Don't take Boss Jung Seok's offer to refer you to his former marriage counselor. We all know how his married life ended up. The divorce was the reason why his son Jung-In got screwed up in the head and started to wear short-long pants.

Merry Christmas! Or Happy belated Festivus for those who reject the commercialization of Christmas!
Been trying to find a good drama to watch during the week while I wait for Secret Garden to come out. Since I'm on break now, I feel like I should watch more dramas. Should I try Lovers in Paris? I know all abt the ending, but I'm still curious abt it.
My mom just finished rewatching The Legend and hearing it in the background just makes me remember how it took my breath away. So I guess my #1 awaited drama for 2011 will be Faith, since it has Kang Ji Hwan and will be directed by the same director as The Legend.
Speaking of Kang Ji Hwan, yesterday I realized that both Kang Ji Hwan and Hyun-bin can really pull off shouting "yah!" in a comedic, unmanly way. part of the reason why I love them!
also watched a bit of the taiwanese drama, Jia You Si Qian Jin (Four Daughters). It's a bit like the kdrama, Infamous Chil Sisters. I started watching it yesterday, got addicted (the father scenes made me cry), then found out it was an almost daily drama with potentially many episodes. And the set-up of who will get with whom didn't suit me.
And anyone know any good Taiwan dramas airing right now or finished airing recently? looking for rom-coms or mysteries. besides Jia You Si Qian Jin, the most recent taiwan drama I've touched was Zhong Wu Yan, which I couldn't tolerate enough to continue.

I just finished LIP, and depending how you feel about Kim Jung-Eun, I would recommend it. She annoys me, but not enough to make me want to fast-forward her scenes.
I LOVE Park Shin-Yang, not just a little bit. He made the show for me. I think if that character were a real person, and I knew there was the slightest possibility that I could marry him, and I had a time machine, and I was thin and pretty, I would have not stopped looking for him until I found him.
Personally, I did not mind the ending. It certainly did not spoil the enjoyment of the other episodes for me.
There were definitely tiny similarities with SG, but only if you were looking for them.

I second that. Go for Lovers in Paris. It's the best among Lovers trilogy. The ending will make you:' What?!' but I think it's a must see for Kdrama lovers. And Park Shin Yang is great!

Just went on my YT account and so many of the accounts I subscribe to have new "Christmas gift" videos up this morning - yay~!! i love Christmas haha.
All i want this year is a tiny share of Yoo Ah In (since he's already been claimed by about 837 people in DBland), some Bae Soo Bin viewing privileges (i saw @lessaofpern's sign that she's tacked onto him), Lee Jung Jin in the form of Hyung Tae, Gong Yoo in all his adorkableness and Binnie - sparkly tracksuit and boxers and all (hey, a girl can hope right? haha). And before you ask, I am not asking for MY Tabi this year because I got him already last year :D
To JB and GF - thank you so much for the awesome news articles and recaps and your opinions... i've really enjoyed them this year (and previous years as well, of course heh). And as always, thanks for letting us go nuts every friday (ha, who am i kidding, it lasts the whole week) on this OT.. it really does keep me sane. or maybe it makes me a little more crazy. i can't really tell at this point :P
