I don't get the character daesang either.. what was MBC thinking?!

I'm looking forward to KBS drama awards the most :) It's later tonight! yey!

I actually watched the awards show a couple of hours ago but I only just realized how much they "spread out" the love to nearly all of the stars when I saw the list of winners here.

I hope I don't sound too discriminatory BUT...what is the matter with some of the female AND male actors' faces?

Why are they so white and pasty? I know that whitening is huge in Asia BUT they seem to only focus on the face and sometimes the neck! Consequently they look two-toned and uneven with the skin texture....theeeen add light makeup and 'insensitive', harsh lights = weird, weird and quite repulsive.

Ex: Park Shi-hoo (goodness!), Kim Hyun-joong (urgh,,aybe due to sickness BUT still), Park Ha-sun, MC Hyun Young (geeesh), Lee So-yeon (oh my gosh!!), Jung So-min (eek)

I apologize if I sound racist or derogatory...I don't mean too.
I just had to voice this out.

Regardless of whether you agree with the winners we can probably all agree that MBC needs to get it together.

Wasn't Seo Woo there? I remember she presented an award with Yoo Seung-ho.

Anyways.

I wish the dresses were prettier.

while i'm happy for the respective winners in each award category, i feel splitting an award is in no way rewarding the actor for his/her achievement. it's like "Oh yeah I won the Daesang award, but it's a shared award, not wholly mine" some tawdry awards show this is...they might as well turn this into a beauty pageant contest and award the runner ups too.

I knew that Han Hyo-joo was gonna get an award no matter what cuz that was their biggest hit!

yeah, really shallow.. Why nominate an actor for talent if the winners will be based on the ratings afterall? sigh.. Jung So Min didn't get the Newcomer award but those who won have been in the industry for quite some time, newcomer eh? Really now, does MBC even have a criteria for this? What a pity really. Anyways So Min looked lovely in her gown. I don't think it's too mature for her, it's just right, the color matches her natural beauty and elegance. Love this gal. Definitely a winner with her presence!

Coz those who don't, better check it out...if u see the d list of winners here, I can guarantee you that KHJ and LMH are the most popular of the lot (I am not talking about acting skills or the drama ratings etc. I am talking about only popularity here) And these popularity awards are based on voting, so it is not surprising to see KHJ win the award. Hear! Hear! I love HJ; he plays cold and snotty Seung Jo but he's the total opposite offscreen. Wacky and funny. Can't wait to see him in another role. He lights up the screen with his presence. PK may have been a flop among Korean TV audiences but the YT eps garnered a huge following all over the world. It was a global phenomenon. Ppl tuned in for HIM, not for So Min. I love her too but without him, I wouldn't have seen PK at all.

JI JIN HEE. I keep on looking at his picture. Did he ride on a bike to the award show? because his forehead have those shadow thing when you wear a helmet and either it's too tight and press on your head or the white dust get stuck on his face area and leave the forehead covered undusty.

actually, i love Parang's character in Gloria even more. okay, not really about his character, but his love story with Jin Joo(Bae Doona's older sister) when she was mentally handicapped n they're like a cute kiddy couple. she's a great actress, btw...off topic but i think i saw her in a drama recap here.....tamra the island...is she the lady in red?

Really? Shim Eun-kyung is incredibly awesome. If they had to have split the Dae-sang, it should have been between Kim Nam-joo and Shim Eun-kyung. Han Hyo-joo's performance in Dong-yi wasn't atrocious but if she gives me that wide eyed look one more time....! >:| (But no surprise since MBC always bases their awards off of ratings.)

The only award that I'm very pleased to see is the best couple award for Lee Seon-kyun and Gong Hyo-jin. They were the most adorable couple this year by far. Their natural chemistry carried Pasta and I'm so glad they got rewarded for it. I'm surprised actually because I thought people would have forgotten about them since it aired so early in the year.

I guess the most important thing is: MBC, you have a talent for making your awards look pretty cheap.

Can someone please enlighten me on how SSH became named Mr Hand Towel? I really never heard him referred to by that name before. I think its hilarious. How did it start?

More interested in the fashion than the awards, and I just have to comment on Chae Jung-ahn's ahjumma-ish outfit: Do I see the outlines of large, structured shoulder pads? Ugh, we will forever be haunted by that fashion faux pas.

I think this was the most ridiculous award show I have ever seen. I was pissed off when MBC made Kim Myung Min share daesang with Mr. hand-towel, but seriously again? If they wanted to award Han hyo joo for her hard work, they could have given her an excellence award instead... but seriously daesang??? I've never liked these SBS, KBS, and MBC broadcast award shows because I they're all pretty messed up and political = daesang almost always equals high rating/popularity. I know they aren't meant to be fair... I mean, come on, they NEVER EVER give awards to actors/actresses that don't attend the award show even though they've shown excellent acting (an example is Kim Hye Soo). Might as well call it an end of year award FESTIVAL where every participant can go home with an award rather than trying to feign it as an "AWARD" show and handing out doubles and triples of excellence and grand prize awards.... I feel sorry for those who really shined through but aren't receiving the proper recognition because of this award for all absurdity.

The only thing that registered was the mr popular award for Hyun Joong. He deserves it. He is the most popular korean hallyu star in Asia now, as shown by Asian Games when they picked him to sing out of so many others. Congrats HJ!

I personally really appreciate the guys' stylists taking chances and not showing us the same old & boring tux style for once - although I never watched an Asian award show before (maybe being eccentric is the thing here?).
And I just LOVE Lee Min-ho here!! Love his costume - colours, fabrics, shape - it really suits him; and compared to Kim Hyun-joong - there is no comparison :))
