Moon Chae-won sheds tears for Daddy’s Girl poster
by javabeans
Wait, I thought this drama was supposed to be… cheery?
Here are the two official posters for SBS’s new drama It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl, starring Moon Chae-won as a spoiled daughter who gets a rude awakening that kick-starts her maturation.
I’m anticipating that the drama will feature some tears at the outset when Moon’s father (played by Park In-hwan) is injured in an accident (and the preview suggests that someone else dies in said incident). But I’m expecting things to lighten considerably once the drama gets going — and I hope that expectation doesn’t turn out to be totally wrong, based on the above poster. Eee, please don’t go heavy, Daddy’s Girl!
The second poster, below, is more what I’m expecting, and at least the above-linked preview shows the lighter side to the drama. Plus, the timeslot has generally been home to brighter fare ever since SBS created the extra hour of drama programming last year, airing series like the bubbly romantic comedy Wish Upon a Star, rock-ajumma series I Am Legend, and sports-romance drama Dr. Champ in that hour. Then again, it’s also housed (melo)dramatic offerings like Angel’s Temptation…
It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl replaces the just-ended Dr. Champ and premieres next week.

The poster under doesn't look that much more cheery either. Can't take more crying, even though she's good at it.

Gotta agree it doesn't look that much more cheery. Rather poignant. Arg! I hope it has some good laughs in it, because that's what I need in my dramas nowadays. Not liking all the heavy duty crying.

I liked Moon in Shining Inheritance, though her character tried her hardest to get me to hate her, despite getting my sympathy at the beginning.
Should I be heartened by the fact that she's crying out of only one eye?

no i think they purposely did that...to show that one side is happy (before the incident) and one side is teary (after the incident)

I just want to point out that you're correct about "Angel’s Temptation" being in the same time slot and melodramatic (plus SUPER makjang), but "Jejoongwon" was not aired in this time slot. It did air Mon.-Tues. but during the slot after this time (its following drama was "Giant" which airs after "Dr. Champ"). It's not really a big deal but just wanted to point a minor detail since these two time slots due have different lengths of airtime.
Anyways, off topic but JEJOONGWON is totally awesome! One of my favorite dramas this year, and Park Yong-woo was/is fantastic!!

Please, let this be cheery. I love when MCW does that kind of character although I'm sure she can rock in more dramatic characters (loved her in PotW).
JB, how is I am legend? I'm behind and I've heard mixed reviews for later eps. Like, it turned into a legal drama about trials and whatnot? I'm still at the ajummas-trying-to-be-happy-and-break-out-on-the-music-scene phase. Am I going to be disappointed if I keep watching?

I love and adore Moon Chae-won. I really hope this drama does well.
What is holding me back from my excitement is the male leads. Honestly i am not looking forward to any of them. It would have been great if there was one strong main lead (as in experience older actor) and the existing male cast as a second lead.
I hope somebody writes a First Impression on this one. I am not sure i will watch it otherwise.

im not sure about the drama being cheery..there's a lot of emotions going there. one of the two brothers would have a loveline with moon's character, who is the daughter of the man who was accused to kill their brother...and the fact that jeon tae su is playing the character of moon's sunbae, whom i think is the actual killer judging from the preview, THIS is going to be one heavy drama. hopefully they will insert in some comedy to it...

Hm, in the first poster, I don't feel her sadness. She's not feeling it either, or so it seems to me XD When I look into her eyes, I really don't feel it.

i thought in the 1st poster, she wanna tell something like 'even there are so many bad things happen to me,i'll be okay, cuz daddy is here with me' hehe..and in the 2nd poster..emm..seems like 'happy-sad' life is just a part of me...aigooo..but i read from my friend's status about donghae's character..she said,,this drama would be a mellow drama..emm..let's see..can't wait for it..

It looked fine... until I saw the creepy outstretched hand.
Then she looked like a vengeful ghost.

Moon Chae-won has the skill. I'm glad to see her take the lead role. I really love her in Painter of The Wind. Strong acting.
