Trio of talent headlines suspense thriller The Client
by javabeans
Wow, with a cast like this, my interest is piqued: Ha Jung-woo (The Chaser), Park Hee-soon (A Barefoot Dream), and Jang Hyuk (Chuno, pictured above) have all been cast in a suspense thriller film called The Client.
Ha Jung-woo plays a lawyer struggling to prove his client’s innocence of a murder charge. Jang plays the suspect who is accused of killing his wife, and “holds the key to the truth.” His lawyer goes up against the public prosecutor in a fierce battle of wits and wills; the latter will be played by Park Hee-soon.
Sure, we’ve seen this story explored in movies before, but with this trio of actors, I’m anticipating lots of intensity, suspense, and (um, to be shallow — I am only human) hotness. All are actors with screen presence and loads of charisma, not to mention acting talent. This ought to be fun.
The Client is currently in the final stages of pre-production and is scheduled to begin shooting at the end of November.

I do like the 1994 US version of The Client.
Sigh... Jang Hyuk is the client?. I would prefer to see him as the badass lawyer for the bad guys. Oh well...

Jang Hyuk AND Park Hee-soon? SO. EXCITED.
I haven't had any experience with Ha Jung-woo, but I'll be taking your word about his acting skills, Javabeans.

Heh. I do like to paddle in the shallow end myself. That is an AWESOME pic of Jang Hyuk. The combination of long (YUM) hair and nerdy glasses...oh Lordy, I just want to muss him up even more.
Thanks JB! :-D

I love Jang Hyuk and I enjoyed Chuno... but I have to say- I definitely prefered his shorter hair phase (i.e. Thank you) over this. Still... can't deny he's hot either way.

Me, too! He has charisma--way more than some of the really pretty faces out there.

Same here! He is my favorite Korean actor! I liked him in EIA (my first encounter with him) and then I pretty much saw 70% of all the movies he's been in and love him. @obivia: I totally agree. He has charisma. He can play from psychopath to heartbroken loser to high profile mobster and rock in all of them.
I'll be waiting in anticipation for this movie. Not only does it have my fave PHS but an additional HJW + JH = EPIC x 1,000,000,000!

Fan of the mane of glory here. If they really have JH signed on the dotted line, I'm SO looking forward to this.
Ummm, yeah and the shallow end of the pool makes easier to paddle your float to the side and get drinks from the cabana boy. 8-)

Oh my favorite actor Jang Hyuk! Plus HJW and PHS! I am sooooooo looking forward to this movie. The lawyer role for Jang Hyuk? That would be awesome, but I find, casting Jang Hyuk as a suspect rather than a lawyer or a prosecutor, makes this more exciting. I am becoming hyped as imagining how he would portray the suspect in the movie.

I'm looking forward for this movie. I love all three actors especially Ha Jung Woo. He was so great in The Chaser as serial killer. All three of them has load of charisma and acting skill more than just a preety face.

Is this going to be based off of John Grisham's book of the same name? I believe the 1994 US movie of the same title is an adaption of the book.
John Grisham is a magnificent writer.
