Gong Hyo-jin in Rolling Home With a Bull
by javabeans
Gong Hyo-jin‘s next film is the movie Rolling Home With a Bull (which I’d previously translated more literally as How To Travel With a Cow), which will release early next month.
In the movie, Gong plays a woman who suddenly shows up in front the ex-boyfriend she broke up with seven years ago (played by Kim Young-pil), who’d sold a cow in a fit of anger. They end up going on an eight-day trip trip that turns out to be full of surprises.
The project, which is based on a novel, comes from director Im Soon-rye, whose previous sports movie Forever the Moment, about the women’s handball team at the Olympics, was a huge hit. It has been receiving some buzz after being invited to the upcoming 15th Pusan International Film Festival in the Gala Presentation category. Both stars are expected to be at the PIFF’s opening red carpet.
Rolling Home With a Bull is planned for an early November release.

Gets points for originality. Although am I the only who flinched when I saw the cow/bull? I mean, I guess it's common practice, but I can't imagine being pulled around by a ring through my nose.

Really, don't worry about the nose piercing. Most of the time, the bull won't even feel it/pay attention to it.
I know this won't go over well with the animal rights crowd, but keep in mind that they are animals and driven by instinct. I know having a ring in a bull's nose has saved the lives of countless people, and in my memory three times it has saved the life of the bull itself and/or other livestock on the ranch. Cows are still driven by instinct, even though they are domesticated animals.
(There were a few times when I was in high school that I wanted to put rings through the noses of certain athletes.)
It looks awful, but it is necessary.

Let's hope that her old buddy Shin Mi-nah (in the guise of "Gu Mi Ho") doesn't get a whiff of that cow and start feeling hunger pangs...

Hopefully this movie doesn't end with a tearful Gong Hyo Jin holding lettuce to her mouth . . .

LOL! Another reason why movie title translations will remain a mysterious mix of 'wtf?' and 'huh?' ... so funny! Actually, this sounds good!

same here. she's probably battling the #1 spot [in my heart] with Ha Ji Won. both chameleon-like actresses.
definitely hard-to-put-a-finger-to-it kind-of plot, but something i cant miss since it's Gong HyoJin! [i wonder if she's still together with Ryu Seung Bum. love him too!]

Couldn't help but think of Shin Min Ah (Gumiho) when I saw the bull! The show definitely gets A+++ for originality. WTF! A bull for heavens sake! I immediately imagined myself as the actor pulling it around and it suddenly charges me! Talk about flashbacks from running with the bulls in Spain!
