Okay, OCKOALA (typed just to get your attention, not to yell), tell me where or say it again here, what you think of LIP. I totally adore this drama (okay, there are parts I'm not that crazy about BUT, overall, love it), and I'd actually like to meet someone (anyone) who adores it, as well, but since that ain't happening, just go ahead and tell me why it sucks. Maybe the 23 times I've watched it I've got it all wrong .....

Au contraire, Leonardswench. I said Lovers sucks, I never said Lovers in Paris sucks. :-P
It was one of my earliest K-dramas and I marathoned that baby like you wouldn't believe.
Clearly it's addicting for sure. Someone once asked me what was wrong with it, and I boiled it down to three main reasons: (1) KJE's OTT acting and a very waffly indecisive character - combined together she's kryptonite for me, (2) the veered-into-makjang territory of the entire second half (with the half-bro twist, the painful amounts of we-cant-be-together scenes, the increasingly hateful/annoying second leads), and (3) the ending.
I once explained the ending for someone in OT - oh, I got the ending all right, after needing to research it and waste brain cells thinking about it, and KES still thinks she was being so terribly meta and clever - and the ending sucks.
It didn't belong to this drama, it would have sucked no matter what, but here it ruined an otherwise rather enjoyable (if somewhat soggy second-half) drama.
The only good to come out of LIP - Park Shin Young and his character, both of which I loved (who recently also made me rescind goodwill towards him with his wholly inappropriate performance in PotW, sigh).
Just my personal opinion of LIP, this was one popular drama when it aired, and still gets plenty of recognition from drama fans, most of whom have seen it. But you're right, I don't know anyone who loves it. It varies from like to outright hate.

Nyet nyet, twinnie.
Thanks, as always, but that YT vid cuts out the first part. They start making out the second Lee Seo Jin comes through the door, and they make out all the way to her bedroom, which is where the YT vid you posted starts. :-D
Clearly I watched the scene already (Oh god, watching this drama after Giant is like finishing a lunch at Peter Lugers and then having dinner at Olive Garden). Here's the BTS, including the aforementioned barrels through the door and immediate make out scene.

OOPS. LIP is Lovers in Prague to me. I just barely made it through Lovers in Paris the first time and have not managed a re-watch.
Sigh. I"m tired and old.
I do have a funny thing to tell you. I had some exciting-ish news on the writing front this morning, and my hubby was saying, "Don't get excited, calm down," and kissed me sweetly.
Ahem, oldest daughter walked by and said, "That's a Korean kiss, give her a real one, Dad." I couldn't help it, busted a gut, hubby had no idea wth we were talking about, so I demonstrated. Little brother got in on it and told us to kiss like we did at the wedding "cause we're married now" (I like how he includes himself in the marriage). Just to say, all of my kids came far after the vows, but 7 year olds aren't the best judge of timelines or boundaries, for that matter.
It was a cute moment in the family.
Now, if anyone has an opinion on Lovers in Prague ....

A "What's Up Fox" Banner! Yeah, this makes my day. It is the little things that really do make a person happy.

Kimutaku Syndrome. We've all had it at one time or another. I don't think there's a cure...

There is a temporary paralysis method: watch one episode of Tsuki no Koibito and any your boiling blood for KimuTaku will be dialed down to simmering. ;-)
Butbutbut, he looks so HOT in TnK, too bad everything else made me want to poke my eyeballs out.

Probably worth mentioning . . . Pride (as popular as it is) is considered MINOR Kimura Takuya. If you want to see him in rom-com mode, try out Hero. The pairing of Kimura Takuya and Matsu Takako (Hero, Love Generation) is perhaps the most famous one in J-dorama. If you liked Cha Seung Won/Kim Sun Ah, you'll love Takuya/Takako.

thanks belleza!!! i will definitely be checking it out. i just finished Pride about 3 minutes ago and was already revving to watch it again. I really have no idea what kind of dark and dank cave I was living in to never have watched a KimuTaku drama before this. I see the light now... and man does that light sparkle....

Gumiho Girlfriend is definitely Hong Sisters, alright! Just seen episode 2 and laughed my ass off at the Shim Gun-wook parody, and then Song Dong-il prancing about like Chow Yun Fat's character out of Invincible.
