Here's an explanation for their name, Fin.K.L, courtesy of Wikipedia:

Fin.K.L (핑클) was a K-pop girl group that debuted in 1998. Their name stands for Fine Killing Liberty, and was intended to mean that the group stood against "the oppression of all freedom" (fin means "ending" in French). The group's name was selected by a poll of young people by the record company before the group's inception. This is the reason for the lack of clear meaning in Fin.K.L's English name, for the Korean name (핑클) was selected first.

@2: no idea what Lee Jin has been up to.. But she has a regular spot on the all girls variety show Heroes. I think it's pretty awesome. So far I've watched two episodes of it and I love it.

Off topic: I just finished reading your comments on the final episode of Coffee House, and I couldn't agree more. I really enjoyed this drama! The scene in the last episode where SY cries as she realizes that JS will never love her as a woman brought bittersweet tears to my eyes.

I had the pleasure of seeing Ok, Joo-Hyun in Aida back in 05' and she can sing those notes just as well as Heather Headley could on Broadway. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical, Headley was the original Aida on Broadway.

If you guys have the opportunity. go and see the musical. You guys will not be disappointed. I think I enjoy Ok, Joo-Hyun more as a musical theater performer than a K-pop one. She is an extremely talented singer!!! Every time I think of her singing the last few measures of "Dance of the Robe," I get all chocked up inside because she was so AWESOME!

I just have to say that OJH looks absolutely beautiful in that first picture! And I totally agree with you about her being the one "able to sing". On another note, "bad highlights"? lol! I loved my highlights thank you very much! =P

so cute. predates my foray into kpop but omg, nostalgia for that time period indeed. who was the popular one in finkl? i assume sung yuri was the cute one. ok ju hyun is lovely, anyway. her mother duck-ly unnie relationship with sonyuhshidae is real sweet. i'd love to see some korean musicals; alas, getting tix for a show with a famous kpop star would be near impossible.

#12 Daktari is correct. "Fin" is intended to mean "to put an end to" or "stop", not "fine" like it's okay to kill liberty.

@19- That really was a touching scene, wasn't it? With some actors I can't help but feel that they're simply showcasing their ability to cry at will. Great crying ability, but without a real sense of connection to the emotion behind it. With this scene, all I could feel was how heartbroken SY felt at that moment of realization...raw and honest.

As another commenter posted earlier in that recap, it was telling when Seung-yeon asked Jin-soo why he wasn't spitting out her coffee(as he normally does). He tells her that, since she's no longer his secretary, he can't spit out the coffee when he doesn't like it. She responds, "I guess my coffee still doesn't satisfy you."(or something along that line)
