Lee Soo-kyung joins Daemul
by javabeans
Wow, Lee Soo-kyung is working nonstop: She has been cast in Daemul, which comes just after she wrapped the recent comedic series My Country Calls, which she’d tackled soon after finishing the weekend melodrama Loving You A Thousand Times.
Lee is mostly known for her bubbly, energetic image and has often played the cute, bumbling heroine (see: Soulmate, Golden Age of the Daughter-in-Law, My Country Calls). She’ll depart from that in Daemul, where she’ll portray a sexy career woman, Ryu Se-jin, who earned her MBA abroad and is described as confident and proud.
This must be the main female role mentioned earlier when series star Go Hyun-jung nearly quit due to a lack of movement on the production and casting front. I like Lee Soo-kyung a lot (I have a lot of Soulmate love!), but I’m not entirely sold on her as a sexy businesswoman opposite Go Hyun-jung. Then again, not a lot of actresses would be able to challenge Go for the spotlight in a drama. (Sort of makes you wish for another Choi Ji-woo rivalry, doesn’t it?)
Daemul will follow My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho on SBS and premieres in October.

Love Lee Soo Kyung! I first saw her in Soulmate, and now I'm going through her projects. Trying to find Golden Age of the Daughter in Law online so I can watch it. I'm with Javabeans, can't see LSK pulling off the proud businesswoman, but I'll watch anything she's in, so I am officially sold on watching Daemul now.

Awesome, she's versatile and can pull any role... She's a got great comedic timing just check out Lawyers of Korea and the latest My Vountry Calls. LSK had no trouble with dramatic roles just check out Loving you a Thousand Times. Her role in Soulmate had both dramatic and comedic aspects... Fighting, she'll bring great talent to this drama... Sexy??? She'll have no trouble but it'll be difficult not to crack up whenever I see her... Good luck with the hope she'll bring fortune to this ensemble... Thanks....

I will be VERY dissappointed if she took the lead role instead of Go Hyun-jung!
Seriously.
This goes as far as much as I hated SOULMATE. Never seen any of her other roles after Soulmate though... maybe I should give her another chance but again, I will be very dissappointed if she took the lead role.

i didn't like this girl in the monday drama oh hana - gah her acting is annoying. she reminds me of the girl from bof. - she makes up for her lack in acting prowess with too much face twisting and trying to look cute.

Oh my goodness. I am absolutely in LOVE with Lee Soo Kyung! I've watched her in Soulmate, Lawyers of Korea, and the recent Call of the Country. She is amazingly cute with a bubbly, outgoing personality. I have been dying to see her in roles such as this, since she mostly plays the [as described above] type of characters. Definitely looking forward to this. (=
