Park Ye-jin and Danny Ahn team up in suspense thriller
by javabeans
Park Ye-jin is starring in a new thriller movie, Head [헤드], playing a reporter who becomes entangled in an organ trafficking case. Singer-turned-actor Danny Ahn has been cast as her co-star as her ex-boyfriend and senior reporter.
Park’s recent roles include sageuk series Queen Seon-deok and Again My Love, but it’s probably her stint on variety show Family Outing that earned her the most fan love. Meanwhile, after getting his start in the pop group G.O.D., Danny Ahn transitioned into acting and has performed in several stage plays. This will be his first movie in two years (since 2008’s Crazy For Wait), although he did recently have a supporting role in the drama Chuno.
(Despite this pairing, early reports called this film a “one-top” project, meaning that Park would carry the film as the main lead. It’s rare enough for an actress to get to carry a film, particularly in the male-dominated thriller genre, that this is apparently considered noteworthy.) Also starring are Baek Yoon-shik (Jeon Woo Chi), Ryu Deok-hwan (Private Eye, and Oh Dal-soo (Bang Ja Chronicle).
Head will begin filming in mid-June.

ehh? Where was DA in Chuno?
EDIT: OMG I did NOT recognized him as Baek Ho...the guardian dude that tailed her for a couple episodes. My! Facial hair does change a face~ but that said, he did very well then. I remember thinking he was a good, impressionable character. I was quite sad when he died and I got a strong "i have a crush on hae-won" vibe from him without him having to actually SAY it.

I am excited for her! :D I hope it does well... I've loved her since Family Outing and I miss her & Hyori... I miss KJK & Yejin interaction more! ;-)
Anyway, I liked this actor from CHUNO even though CHUNO overall wasn't as great as I'd liked it to be. He and Park Ye Jin also look good together and hopefully that shows in their chemistry!

I always find that she looks much older than her real age. She's younger than Hyori but looks like at least 5 years older.

I think it's definitely noteworthy that this is a "one-top" kind of film, especially with the female as the lead carrier. Especially in such a male dominated society, this is a huge step forward for women!
I love PYJ and DA. I absolutely adore her in FO and find her to be extremely versatile. DA was impressive in Chuno as I felt for his character a lot.

Again My Love was never my favorite of kdramas, but the (sub)plot involving Ye Jin was the reason why I even watched it. Just for this reason, when I discovered Family Outing later, she became one of my favorites (dude, the whole Sweet vs Savage thing was AWESOME/HILARIOUS). Anyways, hopefully this movie will be just as cool...
P.S. I still think Ye Jin makes a better pairing with Kook Jong... Or at least cuter. I know, I know: "Crazy FO fans!".. (^^,)

I love Park Ye Jin as a person. The witty, quirky, sweet and savage Lady Yejin from FO. I do also love Danny Ahn, also because of his dorky personality on variety programs. I'll be watching this movie for sure when it comes out~

Love Ye Jin... I think she's so underrated as an actress. She's soo good, she should have more leads. I think this part is perfect for her.
She has such a good presence too. She totally held her own in Family Outing with Hyori. Loved watching her catch animals and cook. Yejin Fighting!!
