I'm home!!! to discover my kitchen has turned into the bugs' heaven, yikes! On top of that, somehow a whole canister of sesame seeds had been spilled out and my pantry is a total mess and now I have sesame seeds covering most of the kitchen floor. So foe now, I'm in denial of all that and all the business e-mail I've been neglecting for past 36 hours( I was busy packing with all the extra stuff I bought there, ended up shipping a parcel) Anyway, I just watched yankeekun4 now instead of CU14 I've been dying to watch ever since I'd left Japan 20 some hours ago,solely tempted by your comments. And it was worth it,I was laughing out loud within 2 minutes into watching. They are all so cutely overplaying their charactors. Narumiya, for sure doesn't look like a high schooler, yet, somehow, you can go along with it.

PT, of course! PP I gave up on long ago, CU requires too much of me. Also starting Yankee-kun and Otomen (thank you, OT sisters, both would have completely slipped my radar otherwise). It's amazing that Hiroki can do a convincing delinquent school-boy at his age; guess that boyish grin helps. Quite a turn after his "Honey and Clover" character (self-assured, Bohemian).

Off to comfort and steady myself with a spot of shopping. And, yes, I will pop into the DVD shop and yes I will look for Pride -- have to watch that in full HD glory.

I've seen "Orange Days." It was my first J-dorama many moons ago. And if I remember correctly, it was a good show... short and sweet.

I really need to watch PT's episodes this week after reading JB's fantastic recap.

I was on part vacation this week so I did get to see ep 1 of TnK. Sigh... I love KT a lot - his roles already really move me for some reason, and I love his characters. My favorite was Pride. I watched that one over and over and even a ton of asiandramas (kdramas, jdramas, and twdramas before & after)... this one is still one of my all-time favorites. So, I also liked Mr Brain, but TnK... well, I knew from the start that having LCL in the series was only going to be a hinderance. I don't think she can act well much less act in japanese (hosting, modeling - yes, but acting - heck no). Yeah, I would say some scenes were "awkward!!!" But I still like KT even though he sleptwalk through the mess in Shanghai - so I'll still watch the entire series. I do have a feeling that he will end up with Shinohara's character. I think that would make the most sense.

One of my favorite Jdoramas hands down. And I absolutely adore Tsumabuki Satoshi. Sad that he's not in as many Jdoramas... He was in Tenchijin but I've tried but just can't stick through Japanese taiga dramas...

He's so cute!! And a great actor... sigh. Tsumabuki Satoshi is seriously like one of my favorite Japanese actors. Even though I really haven't seen a lot of his stuff. Orange Days, though, definitely one of the best dramas I've seen before.

phew... i just woke up in the middle of the night... and the first thing that popped into my head was Bonamana... lol.. to be thruthful, i think i like sorry sorry better but i am much more hyped about bonamana than sorry sorry.. why? no idea.

Do you guys have any recommendations for eye cream? I seriously need to get rid of these dark eye circles. I used to NEVER get them. But I guess this high stress period plus only 7 hours of sleep (usually I get at least 8) is getting to me... I prefer quality over expensiveness. i just finished watching PASTA... and it was... uhm.. fluffy. hahaha. if to describe it in one world... FLUFF... lol. fluff all the way... hahaha... its a light drama that wont go into the deeper conflicts that could have happen if it was not a romcom (like having President become the SILENT CACTUS KILLER who will fight for his three year hidden love for maknae... or have LITTLE MISS GINSENG PASTA DESTROYER become the villain that everyone would hate...) but comon who would hate such a lovely face that is very considerate and such a weakling-when-it-comes-to-chep even though she's an arrogant little missy? hehe.

but all in all... i love it... i've always wanted a love story that is so loyal from start till end. though i was quite unsure of the ending... hahaha... i kind of wanted to know yoo kyung's new stove position... LOL.

I have wacthed PP ep 13...and a clock scene is the most touching scene in this eps IMO.. This scene reminds me alot of one scene in all about eve drama, which kim seo yeon is in it, too. Remember video tape scene in all about eve? After woo jin died, Young Mi watched tape recorder who has been given to her. that tape has recorded alot of memories about both of them and woo jin confession about him want to marry YM. Young Mie cried. Her tears suddenly fall. She feel really sorry towards woo jin, but it,s too late...God when i watched clock scene, suddenly that scene in AAE comes to mind, and suddenly i cried! I wonder if scriptwriter a fan of AAE, too lol

I loved your observations abut HR on the previous page. I personally called it the bullsh-t-filter, by which she was able to pick out people's sincerity, reading them differently to how we were seeing/reading them.
Like when SJ would be physically or verbally having to peel her off him and was keeping a fair distance from her - she still read him differently. When IW asked why she liked SJ so much he replied ''because he's like a big, protective, shady tree''. (Not exactly romantic, but still a major compliment to SJ's character.)
And true enough, even without the evidence in ep3, he had been (secretly) pretty protective of her, sticking his neck out for her, asking the chief to let her off, mentoring her, silently campaigning for her.
I guess at first it was because she was a familiar face to him, she had his Eun-ji's face, which also understandably freaked him out.
Later she earned his respect and affections (and the solemn promise that she had one opportunity to call on him, no matter what day, no matter what time, and he would come to her - awww!).
Not to mention IW, the guy who was always there when she needed him was in fact deceiving her and her own parents had backstabbed her, SJ was the only honest person around, whom she could trust.

I got the impression HR never did anything without rhyme or reason (even the way she dresses!) and when she finally earned a place by Prosecutor Yoon's side (Prosecutor Yoooooon!!) you knew she'd done VERY well for herself. Even if it wasn't in the romantic sense, because a man like him is always handy to have around, especially if you're the absent-minded sort and your dad's MST and your close friend/neighbour (stalker) is the super sharp and clever IW.
(And it makes more sense if it wasn't a romantic union between Se-Ri because it's obvious he's so not over his wife yet-- shame as there was so much spark.)

This is one of the areas where the drama is lacking in consistency, I understand the way she's reading IW's true love is the same way she read SJ's protectiveness. But what happened to SJ, now? Why did they write off his character? If ever she needed his services she needs them now, were all her exertions for nothing? Does that mean all her efforts for IW will one day in the future mean nothing too?
And where is this girl's pride/dignity? What happened to the ''Fly High'' Hye-ri?
Love doesn't have to mean instant forgiveness, she could have gone about it in so many ways, I find the In-Hye relationship too undermining of females and masochistic.
I would rather not remember KSY playing a role as stupid as it is now, it started off so clever but then it just lost me.

So the rumor is the next show to take over the monday golden timeslot (after TnK) might be starring Matsumoto Jun and Takeuchi Yuko. Because Flash Forward sucked and got canned, I guess Yuko decided to go back home. We should get her another role, because the sentiment was that her character was liked. They probably told her that it was "Lost 2", but seriously I could predict that ship sinking from the begining. Please don't hate us Yuko.

@mastille: oh ya, totally agree about Son Ye Jin. Loved her acting especially in the last scene of episode 14. totally moving and devastating. that's why she's one of my favorite k-actresses.

And qns, is anyone else bugged by Moon Geun Young's drunk scenes in CS? I find her acting rather forced and unbelievable whenever does those scenes. Is it because she can hold her liquor too well, that she hasn't really gotten dead drunk before?

I really don't mind the negative comments & harsh critiques of the anti-INHYE & anti-PP writer ...but I personally think otherwise & feel I have to make a stand!!! Everybody has a diff 'drunk' face and a myriad of bizarro behaviors. and I actually find it befitting for her EJ to be cute and a bit giggling and pathetically hilarious when drunk now.... bear in mind in an earlier drunk scene, she's not the same... that one is much more restrained and controlled, now there's a hidden relief in her EJ that at least she has a confirmation KH loves her, love comes in diff forms and realization, to her, just the comfort of a firm acknowledgment that there's a letter, he still loves her..is enough for now and there's a hidden bit of giddiness in EJ, and w/ that KH letter exchange and their rendezvous by the wall that a lot of her confusion was lifted and she's more in touch and honest w/ her own feelings now as well, all that she cant possibly expressed in the midst of all the grievance and indebtment, it's only when she's drunk, her inhibition is at her lowest and we got to see a peeled off EJ

You should remember SJ is the one that abandons her/ fails to notice the potential in MHR, not IW. He constantly tells her to quit and she is so frustrated that she has to prove for him and everybody that she is not just any dumb, clueless and irresponsible girl. The scene when they eating sushi and HR resisting crying out loud, one of the colleagues (JS if I'm not mistaken) said that "what are you talking about? SJ is the first one that cannot stand/ rejects her). If anyone who has trust in her thoroughly, that's IW. You can argue that he has ulterior motives but the fact that he is patient, determined and diligent in encouraging her from the very first day signify that he believes she can and will give her best, despite all her current behavioral and attitude indicators say otherwise. Obviously, that is just how many people who sympathize with IW interpret. Plus, to say that he is pure evil and psychopath is non-sensical. We can clearly see that his genuine consideration toward her and his will to revenge intertwine with one another; as the story progresses, we don't know where one starts and the other ends. He is confused with his feelings also. The man has conscience. You have to give him that.
On the contrary, I think HR handles her dignity well enough though it might seem rushed to some of you. Given her relentless and stubborn characteristics, I find it believable, the fact that she is quick to forgive IW. Firstly, she has become a thoughtful prosecutor with a strong sense of justice. She has the fortunateness of a happy and wealthy family with members who support and love her unconditionally. She tries to see the world through IW's lens of view and realizes it must be very painful, his process of loosing his parentS and growing up without them feeling his family being wronged all along (now remember many previous episodes, she feels relieved that nobody has been wrongly accused in her hands-> another life experience that later governs her mindset). She shows compassion when he tells her his story, not just standing there grinding her teeth in disdain and arrogance even though she has every reason to do so; it shows her maturity. She has a big heart and that fact alone makes her a complementing part to IW- the man who firmly views that love is a luxury in life.
Secondly, she is true to her emotions. That is her biggest virtue. She acts in accordance to her heart, she "feels" that he says one thing but means another. She pursuits, holds on to a set goal till the end and she gets it- his sincere apology. I myself never think that HR believes they CAN be together. Not all all. She chooses to confront with him so she can MOVE ON "Just say you are sorry, so I will be able to live again". She has predetermined beforehand that he is someone she cannot love and they cannot be together (her conversation with JS when HR seeking JS's advices). She loves him and does not want this love to end prematurely before confirming that he feels the same for her too, so she takes the risk of making the first step, crossing the boundary IW has drawn and tearing down his false pretenses, making this man courageously face his feelings for her. But right after the next day, they pass across each other like mere acquaintances since she knows they must stop, before being dipped too deeply in something called love.
About J, I never find him a threatening love rival to IW. He is too passive, he never shows his affection to HR. Plus, I always view them as just mere crushes, she is never really comfortable and herself around him. With IW, she is more real, more spontaneous...

for PT... son ye jin last scene was GOOD... about the only time i'm truly impressed with her.. lmh is still hot. i don't hate chang ryul but i swear, in hee is seriously grating on my nerves big time.. if she ever finds a true friend, that'll be a miracle. that girl has no heart. unlike do bin.. can the poor man be more sweet? but overall, i'm glad the drama is ending next week.. the extension might lead to the drama's destruction
for CS: as always, stellar acting from anybody and everybody.. especially with Kang-sook.. OMG, she has a conscience, and a heart.. she's so much like her daughter and yet different too. i love the interaction between EJ and HS and EJ's shell finally cracked, albeit just for a while... HS is becoming a better person! yay!

and finally for PP... (CANT' BELIEVE it's ending next week.. it's getting SO good. i'm going to have withdrawal syndrome big time.. ) my fav so far!! it's so funny how everybody had their say on this but look like i have to disagree big time with SJ shippers here... lol. maybe it'll be better if you don't read this because it's pretty much the opposite of your opinions. XD and supah, maybe you made the right decision to stop watching this, cuz it's heaven for IWers right now. and as an aside, i noticed yoonie is back in the lead men section at viikii.. lol

ok, so here's my take of the episodes. ok, i LOVE KSY!!!! she's a freaking great actress and basically stole the spotlight for ep 13.. gosh, i love her.. (um, her acting i mean). MHR has to be one of the best female characters ever!! she might be smart and newly mature and all but she's also vulnerable.. and well, she has the experience of romance of a teenager and i love it that KSY portrayed MHRs reaction as such, especially since her love for IW is pretty much her first "real" love (or so i assume cuz i like that way.. xp). is she too quick to forgive.. well, no. cuz ok, so everybody loved ep 13 because of the kiss (and dang... what a kiss.. a real, clumsily sincere one!!) but there was so much more to that ep than that.. the clock scene is my favorite.. it was so touching and heartwrenching and beautiful.. love the lines. you see IW revealing his real feelings and KSY acting is freaking great!! so is her confrontation with IW. LOVE their interaction!! and i love how they made this drama more focused on HR... they could have made this drama about IW's story, starting with IW's childhood story and then his development into an adult, then his plan for revenge (and maybe that take would have led to more understanding for him), and his love for HR being an obstacle... that would totally have worked too! instead, they chose to start with comical mood and focus on HR and I am so glad they did!! but wow, IW's story is like a drama itself was my point. lol.

now, for ep 14, i would have to say that MST is awesome in it!!! not as a character but as an actor... i really felt for him and he gained some points in my book for showing that despite all that he did (and i'm still not sure what he did... did he kill for real??? or he's just taking the blame for someone.. or that he didn't kill but feels like he did because he caused it?), that the man still has a heart and cares for his daughter.. i think even IW has softened to see that side of him.
but y, IW, y do u have to accept to let go of HR. ok, so i know ur promise with ur father to clear his name is like the world to u but what about ur love with HR?? huh?? but at least, we've got to see IW smile in this ep for once... gosh, the picture-taking scene is SO CUTE!!! HR=amateur stalker.. lol. she's learning.. but the elevator scene is so heartbreaking.. with HR wanting to hold his hand but not doing it and IW shedding a tear as the door closes.. PSH and KSY are such great actors that i feel like a broken record..
and AJ is so cute!! especially her reaction to Jenny is exactly like her daughter's. and treating IW to soup like her son-in-law... haha.
as for JS and SJ=like i said from the beginning, great compatible couple. Jenny, poor girl but ur not going to get IW..
like it that HR is working hard to find out what really happened but there are way too many speculations going on about how the ending might be that i'm getting a headache reading pages of that. i still can't process the fact that it's ending next week since it's gotten so good!! well, at least the ratings for ep 14 went up by a lot!! for once, ratings are reflecting the drama's improvement!! ^^. hope it'll keep up next week too.

Aloha Kakahiaka! I see you had some special moments last night and I sensed it by your Barry White selections! As soon as I heard his Love's Theme it triggered some feelings and memories that made me feel very sentimental and teary. It made me smile too.....I was on the phone with a friend for about an hour before I saw your link and we had been talking about feelings, etc. and she was sharing some memories that brought tears.

I remember when I was a kid and had a conversation with an uncle about the "mind" and I told him it was a very powerful tool....the only recollection I have of that is he didn't agree. Maybe I pushed it aside because I've been trying to recall why he said that and I can't.

Yep....smell/odor/ can trigger some fascinating "stuff" from the memory bank...stuff you never thought would surface. And the smell of grandmothers and grandfathers....I have to smile because it was that "old" people smell! :-) Yeah...children have that certain odor....what fun to recall those times of hugs and kisses and scent.

And the smell of someone I cared about.... smiling :-)

Thanks for touching on some very "real" feelings....and you're right....music plays a very important role in our psyche.

i agree with you about HR not losing her dignity. she is still the MHR that i loved from the beginning. she still has a big heart that can find compassion to share with others' situation.. she still seeks for the truth and justice and she has always been true to herself and to others, albeit being too insensitively and brutally so. is she too quick to forgive.. well, no. cuz she sees the pain IW went through with her heart and could see that she would have done the same. all he wants is to clear his father's name. he did admit that it was his pride or whatever word he used that made him involve HR in this when he found out she was a prosecutor. but really, MST deception has ruined his family so is it really surprising that he has a personal feeling about him seeking for justice. despite his godlike smile, he's a human u know? and cuz HR is the daughter, she would be much more committed and personally interested to uncover the truth. and HR would have suffered anyways if he hadn't used her to unveil MST's deception cuz the deception still holds true no matter who discovers it. all HR did is her job as a prosecutor, which she does extremely well. she could have chosen to ignore this cuz MST's her father but she didn't. has she lost dignity? no.. rather, she is being brave to accept and acknowledge her feelings for what they are and confront IW to make him recognize his, like she always has done, with SJ when she confronted him in front of her house and with everyone else too. trying to keep face by pretending otherwise is doom and stupid in love. u don't do that (cough.. JS).
