*PROSECUTOR pRINCESS SPOILER*@supah, and SJ/HR TEam!!!
We as humans can only seek redemption after a personal epiphany of wrong doing and the further acceptance of that fact.
In the case of the In-woo character, he again displays his trademark narcissistic “Passive aggressive Behavior” further more when he was asked if he felt any remorse for what he had done his answer was “NO” and we need to be very clear the he really meant “NO”.
He acknowledges that in order for him to accomplish his revenge he could not afford to allowed his feelings to get involve and he did just that, the proof to that is the fact that he executed his plan to the last “T” disregarding the way that he was going to hurt the “ONLY INNOCENT PARTY” in this confuse murder case, for people to say that he felt any remorse and therefore justifies what he did is comical in its mild form but dangerously sick in its full fledged manifestation.
For Ma-Hye-ri to be turn into a “Spineless, Codependent”. Character is to ILLOGICAL that it clearly shows that the writers created so much mayhem and really had a no way out of their confusion. Is it Appropriate for a woman to utter the words “ I LOVE YOU BASTARD, and if you say sorry I LET YOU HURT ME AGAIN JUST SAY SORRY AND LOVE ME SO I CAN LIVE AGAIN”. We have a saying in Spanish “Pegame Pero No Me Dejes” Translated means “IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU HIT ME, AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT LIVE ME” Famous words UTTER by your run of the mill CODEPENDENT BATTER WOMAN.
For the writers to have turn Hye-Ri into this sort of a wretched codependent HEROINE,for the sake of a happy ending is so IDIOTIC that defies any Logic, I would much prefer a “NO HOLDS BAR” full on Tragic end than to disregard Hye-ri's Character at large, what a Pity!!!!!

Happy Friday y'all!!!!
Anyway, I have a question for anyone who has lived in Korea (foreigner or otherwise). I'm thinking about living in Korea after college, planning on either getting a job at a foreign corporation (maybe as a consultant) or teaching English for a year or so. What are the best places for foreigners and what kind of places are must-sees. I've been reading a couple of blogs but I want to learn as much as possible before making my decision.
Thanks in advance.

@ xiahkixiri
AC had me dying every week waiting for eps. my 2nd time watching a TWdrama as it was airing.. and it was torturous. i didn't even start watching it until 16 eps had aired.. and waiting for the last four was so horrible for me. the subbers were awesomely fast, which was a great thing for my lack of patience. ha! Xiao Le is awesome. breakthrough performance.. he's gonna have a great career in store for him!
the drama was all sorts of flawed and the story was so full of cliches, but damn if it wasn't cracktastic all the same. whatta ride it was!!! and watching Vanness kiss is.. well.. quite yummy and makes me jealous of MuCheng. ha!
@ bbm
10 is definitely not the same as 12 (Kibum disser right hea. ha!) haven't heard the rest of the songs, but i'm liking what i've heard so far w/ Bonamana. will be checking out the rest of the songs when i get home tonight.

although kibum's been MIA since last year, but at least he was on the last album cover (which had complete 13), LOL...
@AC,
early episodes were great, but it get draggy (aren't they always :P)... Xiao Le is the greatest attraction of the show IMO (and Vaness in secret XD)

@ twin
Oh you started PT? Goodie. Lee Min HO MY GOD is pretty scrumptious isn't he? I actually like him way more in this show than I did in BOF.. maybe also cuz the general cast / script / directing / producing of PT is not as crack crazy as BOF and doesn't want to make me headdesk the entire hour.
@ xiahkixiri
AC is a totally addictive drama as well. @lb_tmi is right - it's cliched and flawed up the wazoo, but you just CAN'T STOP WATCHING. and xiao le is the best kid actor i've ever seen in a drama. his interactions with all the adults are so priceless.
Oh, so I started to watch The Host finally - I've had it waiting on my computer for ages and finally got around to it. And now Epik High's Wannabe and High Technology MV (which are parodies of The Host) make so much more sense and is SO MUCH FUNNIER. man, i love those guys.
Looking forward to a night at home with CU14... :)

CS is killing me. Yes, I can't ignore the chemistry between and KH and EJ, there's so much tangled characterization that induces empathy toward everyone, and there is some tight, heart-wrenching acting going on, but the slow plot and the angst are infuriating and there's only 6 episodes left for...redemption. Can KH and EJ just kiss already? HAHA.

Have you guys heard of the song FALLING SLOWLY? It is sang by Glen Hansard or something, its a duet actually. I think both of them are either Irish or Scottishm
I LOVE that song! I randomly heard it in an episode of We Got Married and became curious about it so voila!! Thank God for Google! The song won the Best Original Song at the Oscars last year.

*Possible PP SPOILERS if you're not caught up!*
@1 Amg1 --> Interestingly enough, I didn't see what Hye-ri said to In-woo in that light. I didn't think she was telling him he needed to love her, too -- she was just being honest about how she feels. She was begging him to say he was sorry for what he did to her, because she trusted him and fell in love with him, and it hurt too much to think that he was coldly using her and she was so completely fooled by him. While I admit that if this was real life, Hye-ri's best bet would be to get the heck outta Dodge and forget that jerk, this is kdramaland, and we know that In-woo really loves her, too, he's just trying to be noble and make her leave him for her own good. Or whatever he's misguidedly trying to do.
I actually thought that Hye-ri is the stronger of the two, and her actions are completely in character. We know that she's not the type to hide her affections -- after all, she chased Se-joon pretty openly -- and she always goes for what she wants. Well, now she wants In-woo and an apology from him, and she's not the type to sit on that and mope around. Okay, she did that for awhile, but after hearing the recording on her clock, she knows that In-woo's sorry and that he likes her (because otherwise why would he record that?), and knowing that, it's not like her to just let that go. In-woo is the one who can't make himself do what he needs to do to keep Hye-ri. I don't see why he can't clear his father's name and have Hye-ri.

sometimes I feel that you, amg1 does not watch the drama.
have you watched pp ep 13? Like really? have you? he said sorry through the alarm clock three times.
have you watched PP EP 14? he said sorry to her again FACE TO FACE officially one more time.
and he DID say that "why you keep coming back for me? You should know better hating me will make your life easier" He makes HR hates him on purpose, trying to chase her away from him, using harsh words, acting indifferently. BUT, you cannot just look at the character at the surface like that. the thing about IW is that he is a complex character with layers to be unfolded, not just some impeccably flawless one dimensional man lead for girls to drool over. At this point of the drama, after hearing the conversation between him and MST, you should know better that what MST said pretty sum up IW's personality: witty, mischievous, and manipulative. Sorry but that's exactly what makes IW stands out. I see where you are coming from but one just can't frame his perception of how a character's supposed to be and then uses it as a guideline to judge that character's behaviors. He is not designed to be any chivalrous, sugar-coated, handsome man. He is dark, sinister and he has a secret agenda to run! The past 15 years he lives in hatred and demands justice ("clearing his father's name" that is his words) so I don't see how you expect this man to change over night, to drop off his plan as nothing ever happened and goes on with his life? That will be absurd!
And about HR, why she acts that way. Simple. She knows him better than he knows himself. Like he says, she picks up his genuineness amidst lies and deceptions. Sincerity is sincerit. either you feel it or you don't, Sorry if you cannot feel that from IW, but HR definitely can. She wants to help him to untie the knots he creates for himself, to show him the way-out from all his emtional predicaments he suffers.
The thing I like about PP is the plot and its dialogue and its character growth/ development. Never I saw a drama that is so good at telling a story like that.
ok/ end of my ranting

and by this point I think you totally misread all the core characterics of the characters.
IW once said 'if you wanted to fool somebody, you have to do it for real" and alas, he really did go all out full force no taken back for his plan.
"we need to be very clear that he meant no"
uhmm no. He said it for the sake of shock value, but he does not FEEL that way and that makes a big difference.
Idk how you interpret all the facial expressions: angsty, grieving, even his actions speaking louder than words- If they are not then Idk what are? They all indicate his apologetic feelings toward MHR.

The school semester ended for me last week, but I've been busier and more exhausted this past week than when I was doing my final projects. So glad it's Friday!
Now I can sick back and relax and watch stuff. I've been watching the tv series Wonderfalls, made by the creator of Pushing Daisies. I love Pushing Daisies and I think watching Wonderfalls, which had some great reviews, after Pushing Daisies makes Wonderfalls really pale in comparison.
As for asian dramas....i had meant to follow up on them....but i'm too exhausted to deal with mid-drama angst. Going to continue Yankee-kun to Megane-chan as it's only on its 3rd episode now. Something I can laugh and really relax to. And I have to start thinking abt presents for upcoming birthdays. One of my friends' other friend gave her, her bday present early and it was an awesome one...does it make me a petty and competitive person if I want to top that?
@4 lb_tmi - I totally forgot that Suju would be performing their song on teh 14th. I've been obsessed with that song- that you for the reminder!! 10 is not the same, but I am glad that the remaining boys are getting more time to shine.

I know this more of a drama blog, but can I take a moment to squee about KPop?
After years of wishing, I finally went to the Korean Music Festival (KMF) in LA this year and it was AMAZING. There were performances by the older generation (which were really awesome too) and of course..."idol" stars like LeeSsang, Kim Jong Kook, HaHa, Kara, Beast, Wondergirls and 2PM(!!!!!). Seriously, the concert was awesome (we had poolside seats...so I could actually reach my hand up and touch the performers...some of the crazy fangirls did...I felt kinda bad for the guys in Beast - must've felt so molested that night) ...I can't watch perfs on Youtube anymore because the concert spoiled me so much - it's just not the same...hixhix. My friend and I stayed at the sponsoring hotel so we actually bumped into a lot of the stars (one of our guy friends worked out with KJK! teheheh). Some running comments: Haha is one of the nicest guys ever...totally deserves all the recognition he gets...KARA girls are *tiny* seriously, you can blow them away with a breeze (I knew they were skinny, I didn't realize they were so short too! this coming from a 5'4 person)....and 2PM=HAWT...TaecYeon's muscles...they're real my friends...very very real...*drools*...oh..and if there was any doubt...fangirls are insane. They camped out at the hotel lobby/front doors/elevators for 3 days straight and everytime there was whisper of an idol somewhere - it was mass stampede. No joke, I didn't even try to take any pictures of fear of being plowed over.
Anywhos, just wanted to share that little experience with the dramabeaners ^__^ Did anyone else here get to go?
Man...2pm's coming to DC this summer...now..if only I had someone to go with...

i debated whether or not to attend KMF this year because of 2PM.. but then... i decided not to because the only seats left were pretty far up and you know hollywood bowl is HUGE. so i figured it wasn't worth it to pay money to watch them on a screen in the end. cuz i could just do that in the comfort of my own home and not worry about the crazy fangirls who would shank me in a moment if i made the wrong comment lol. but it sounds like you had an awesome time!!!! :) *jealous*

Man, I haven't been on open thread for, like, months. But that also makes sense since I haven't really been watching dramas for months. And ironically, I've been catching up on stuff like Personal Taste, Oh! My Lady (need... to... finish...), need to desperately catch up on Cinderella's Sister (by catch up, I mean I haven't watched it yet), same with Prosecutor Princess. ARGH. Good thing school ends next Wednesday. The bad part is that I should be studying for finals right now... LOL. Whoops.
I am trying to convince my friend to watch Personal Taste. She dislikes Lee Minho from the whole BOF bonanza... (and for some reason doesn't like Son Yejin either, but knowing her, if she likes the male protagonist, it's enough for her to keep watching). But, man, where are the Jeon Jinhos in MY life. I feel like that is like a continual conversation I've been having with myself since I've started watching Asian dramas in general. WHERE ARE THE MALE PROTAGONISTS IN MY LIFE, HUH. LOL.
Anyway. My short little digression. Really need to get back to that studying business....

PP's storyline and development really picked up towards the end and i must say, i really enjoyed the recent past few eps (11,12,13,14). The show might still be at the bottom of the wed/thurs drama battle, but it is the most watchable and enjoyable to watch.
CS might have the best actors (MGY, LMS) and the most fleshed out characters, but it lacks terribly in the story department. To give it a fair amount of credit, there is sufficient space for the characters to grow and for the plot to move along. But, the agonising pace of the drama is a big turn off. Compared to the pace of PP/PT, CS still has much room to improve on.
Finally on to PT. A really big sorry to PT fans here but i just don't think it is in the same league as PP and CS. The drama over utilises old cliches till it dulls the entire story and the characters don't seem to develop as well as those in PP (case in point: MHR) and CS (case in point: EJ). If not for the prescence of LMH, i doubt this drama will fare so well.

i watched the teaser MV for CNBlue "clap clap" but have not heard the full song. they are my newest musical obsession. been listening to their Japanese album interchangeably w/ 2PM's new album.
did not watch Boom Boom yet.. but if it was the same time that they performed Bonamana, there's 10--missing are KangIn, Kibum, and Hangeng. Siwon should be there... he was in Bonamana's performance.

does anyone own a kindle? i just bought one, should be here in a few days. i'm going to miss real books like hell, i really will. i bought it to save space since my bookshelves are overflowing and finding a specific book is a mission in itself, and to save money, since i often impulse-buy books i end up not liking all that much. when i first saw a kindle a few months ago i wrote this long post about how real books will become totally obsolete in the next twenty years or so. we won't need them at all. on the upside, the next generation should have less back problems from lugging textbooks around. on the very down side - will there be any aspect left of our lives that won't be digital?

Kindles are... nice, I guess. But I like the feel of real books, honestly. For example, I really like my nicely bound, old-school looking complete Shakespeare set. And my complete Jane Austen set (LOL, I am a hardcore Jane Austen fan). Call me conservative in this aspect, but I like being able to flip the pages and read my books. Although, I have to say, things like Kindles are very chic.

@lovenyc52 - Yea, I only went because my friend got really good seats - but actually the festival itself is a lot of fun. They give out a lot of freebies and hold activities before the concert. Do you live near LA? If so, 2PM's coming back there June/July since they're opening for the WonderGirls concert (I wanna go to the DC one....but I don't know if it's worth it if (let's be honest) I'm just going to see 2PM. I actually was in the same elevator as WooYoung and Chansung at one point and had no freaking idea until we got to the lobby and all I saw a herd of screaming fangirl trying to tample me (ouchies)
@A. - you and me both. i think dramas (esp. kdramas) have really spoiled me for any potential guy in reality....i mean...if he can't do sweet things like draw a rose petal bath for me..blowdry my hair....look at me with a bewitching smile& twinkling eyes and call me "EunJo-ah"....er...I mean....yea, no man stands a chance. Does that mean I'll grow in a lonely old lady living with her cats, eating poptarts, watching kdramas and wondering when a JinHo/HyungTae (forever my fav ideal kdrama male lead) will appear in my life?.......Nnnoooosss

I couldn't even make it thru BOF even though there was eye-candy in every ep. i seriously only watched the first half and skipped thru random scenes in the 2nd half. JB's recaps were better than the real thing ha. LMH and bummie were wonderful tho :)

@ yenchen
don't you look around you in an elevator? Wooyoung and Chansung? i'm so.. sad you didn't turn around and jump them. (i know my twin lovenyc52 woulda totally jumped Chansung! ha!) but i did the same thing when i was in Chicago.. of course, my fangirldom was not near what it is towards 2PM back then.. but i saw one of my first Thai obsessions and just took pictures of his back as he was seated a few tables down from me having dinner right before his concert. lols. sigh. i wish i were near them. i'd totally ditch my hubs for them. who am i kidding? i do already just to spend time watching vids of them. ha!
oh, and kdramas have ruined my marriage. i mean, my husband is NOTHING like the guys in dramas. i want a refund!!!!

OH.MY.GOD. you were in the same elevator as MY CHANNIE?!!?!? *faints* i literally gasped out loud when i read that. seriously. i dies. my twin knows how i am about my Channie. Only 2 guys get that kind of reaction from me... My Channie and My Tabi... i thought about going to the WG concert in June in Anaheim... but again, it's a standing concert and i'd be there for 2PM who will perform like 2 songs and bounce. And again with fighting the fangirls - I'm just not up for that lol. But if I were in an elevator with Channie, i'd totally press that emergency stop button and then unleash the puma noona on him.
