Yoon Eun-hye films her cameo for Personal Taste
by javabeans
As announced last week, Yoon Eun-hye is making a cameo appearance on MBC’s Personal Taste, and recently shot her scenes. The stills were released on the 19th and depict her unplanned reunion with Lee Min-ho, her ex.
Yoon Eun-hye plays “Eun-soo” (a change from the previously reported “Eun-hye”) in these scenes, filmed at a movie cinema in Ilsan on April 18. She and Jin-ho (Lee Min-ho) dated in their university days, after which she went to Johns Hopkins University and became a doctor. In the episode, Eun-soo runs into Jin-ho as the latter is about to buy movie tickets with Kae-in. News of this former relationship gives Kae-in a hint as to Jin-ho’s actual status as a straight man — although knowing her, I bet she’ll write it off as mere college experimentation or some such. (Love her, but she’s not exactly the sharpest knife, is she?)
You probably recall that Yoon Eun-hye had almost been the lead in this project when it was first announced. She said of taking the guest spot, “Because I had been looking with interest at Personal Taste, I readily agreed to do the cameo.”

much ado about YEH not playing the lead.... she didn't accept this project for reasons only known to her so move on shall we? ;) what's the point of shoving her into PT when the drama started off w/o her.
SYJ is doing really well here. Please let's not question her abilities.
anyhoo, YEH's cameo, however short is something I'm looking forward to see. Sad that in the ratings game it's 2nd to CU but that doesn't mean it's not a good drama.

Good morning decaf, you're just what i needed at a time like this. . I totally agree, move on people- but then who is shoving YEH to PT? From what I gather, the newly born and rising "YEh/LMH" fangirls are simply salivating to put them together in a new drama or a movie (not in this PT thing).
I like the smileys- cute and alive. Did you see the "hug between YEH and LMH- whoa, sweet. .. . . .

People who think changing the female lead to YEH will make a difference to the ratings must be dreaming. To have a success, not just the acting,the casting the storyline , the script, the editing, the lighting, the music, the directing,etc has to click together. If one or more is a little off,the audience does not get drawn in. This is just my opinion, the storyline is boring and predictable,the editing is off, the continuity is not smooth. The actors put in a good effort.There were some good scenes.If the chemistry between the leads were palpable in the first few episodes, the audience will be more hooked.

"YEH looks a little too mature and professional to play someone so naive about love (which is weird cause she’s younger than SYJ)."
@coollady
YEH did a pretty good job playing the naive girl in "Coffee Prince"; but yeah, SYJ is the better all-around actress.
"As for YEH, she’s great and all, but she really has to step it up, if she wants to be credited for her acting. She’s good at romcom, alright—she is at her BEST when it comes to romantic comedy, but as a fan of hers, I want her to do something more different. I want her to grow more as an actress. So maybe for her future projects, she should do or atleast try the melodrama stuff."
@PICA
I'll have to disagree.
YEH should stay away from the sappy, fake melodrama stuff (or the overly cutesy stuff geared to tweens like "Goong") and stick to realistic dramas, whether they be romantic comedies or not.
YEH is totally capable of acting hurt, sad, etc. as long as she has the right director and script, as evidenced by "CP" (her crying scenes in "CP" were totally believable, unlike LDH's crying scenes in "Chuno" - ughh).
"Well, to whomever say YEH is a great actress, i think ‘great’ is very subjective here because even though i think she is super cute and i wanna kiss her if only i were a boy,all I’ve seen in her acting is stiffness, and forced. it just doesn’t look so natural, be it in goong, or coffee prince (even worse in that vineyard Man)."
@niKai
While I wouldn't exactly put YEH's performance in "CP" in the great category, she did a pretty good job there (aside from the first few episodes) and was hardly stiffed and forced.
YEH's crying scenes - when she 1st left the cafe in anger and when she later left due to her studies in Italy were quite emotional (and much better than most sappy crying scenes in K-dramas).
Anyway, the people who are saying that YEH looks too mature and "professional" (whatever that means) must not have seen her in X-Man, much less the film (albeit a crappy film) "The Legend of Seven Cutter" - where she played a dorky tom-boyish HS girl (and despite it being YEH's 1st real acting role, she did a pretty good job w/ it - in particular since it was so similar to her real persona).

SYJ is much more versatile actor..able to portray the needed innocence & vulnerability. Her looks too are much more 'girlish' than YEH. In CP, Without SYJ, I doubt PT would be credible. YEH's role in CP was street-smart tomboy which suits her. I'm taking some risk here to comment on reasons for PT's lower ratings than C's Sister...the agnst part could have arrived earlier; poor editing in early parts and 'gay' theme may not suit majority of Korean taste (pardon the pun!) but I suspect PT may be better rec'vd in o/seas market. I find C's Sister too predictable whereas PT do come out with surprises now & then which keeps me keen.

Note the ratings for episode 8 in which YEH made her highly-anticipated appearance, touted by fans to 'rescue ratings'.
My point is, we should all broaden our minds. SYJ is not destroying the drama, as what I infer from the comments here. I enjoy watching her act, she acts good and in my opinion makes the drama worth watching because all the emotions, etc. are well-portrayed.
And for those who think she looks old, try not to think about the actual ages of the two main leads as it only widens the age gap and creates an unnecessarily exaggerated image of their age difference.

@ #111
Why should we have to broaden our mind when there is a fabulous and beautiful dramas like Cinderella's sister and another fun and adorable one like Procescutor princess for us to fully enjoy?.
We all like Lee Min Ho and only watched his scenes and skipped SYJ's because she just made some of us disgusted and depressed!!!
We only wish that Lee Min Ho should have been paired up with a more compatible partner so we can fully enjoy the show.
Wondering if it's the budget or not but why the PD had picked up 2 older partner for Lee Min Ho and Kim Bum as well. They are probably paid too much already for the guys already and could not afford another big buck for the girls. As the results, ratings hurts, the PD eventually lose too at the end because it can not turn into a big hit.

In the Philippines and Taiwan, we Chinese fans know only Yoon Eun-Hye . She is very versatile actress. We do not know Son Yeh Jin and we do not like her for Lee Min Ho. There is no chemistry so we watch on the internet the rival TV show of Personal Taste. We would have love it if the lead was Yoon Eun-Hye.
