haha... nice way to put it! but you're right... this is JB's kingdom! hale queen JB!
@eiko
lol... sure, i'll let u know.. but i don't think that's going to happen soon... i have studying this summer, then more studying in the fall, and more for the spring.. but we are thinking of going there for winter break, if my BROTHER is not studying then ... lol.
wow... i'm the reverse of who you are... I do enjoy reading non-fiction books but the main books I read are fiction, or scientific/history/literary periodicals. It's probably due to the fact that my parents never had any self-help books in store.
i took a psychology class in high school and it was really interesting and i'm planning to take more in the future! but police profiling sounds intriguing... i'll go look into that.
i used to have a self-made journal.. wrote around 10 pages and then my mom found it and read it and reprimanded me and told me that that was a waste of time... no need to tell you that i've never tried to keep one again. -_-" but those few scribbles and notes i wrote in my yearbooks, i treasure dearly and laugh and reminisce everytime i read them..
@lb_tmi
lol... who doesn't hate when real life interferes with pleasure...
wow... well, tell her there's a daughter here who thinks she's lucky to have her parents as they are even though she can't go to ANY concert... aside from one in her whole life... at that was more like a chamber concert that was not of her choice. lol... not that i'm not a spoiled, selfish brat... because trust me..as a "young adult" (i can't help but laugh at the adult word.. i do not deserve that) i know what a pain i can be.
really, i can't imagine a mom like you.. not sure i've met one. or maybe i did but didn't know how she is... but then, dramabeans is full of awesome pple (i'm not counting myself in that).
wow... chicago! went there once!
awww... that is harsh.. i'm not even a huge fan of WG, and it was painful... can't even imagine what you went through. btw, who was the artist you're fan of?
JB put recaps for CU 9!!! loved it! and truthfully, i dislike HS.. i understand her but i dislike her.. I think i tend to behave and think like EJ with my parents and brother.. NOT the best way to act.. but the problem is I act first and think after.. so I empathize with her but i have to say, JW is adorable!!

oh really? did they really do that to SJ??? lol... i didn't even notice..i'll go check after this. i don't think i would go that far but some people sure are zealous over this whole rivalry thing...
have you seen jung soo's twitter picks w/ PSH? it's so cute! i'm glad in real life, it's not like that.. love them both! but in dramaland, IW win for me.
"the most deceptive k-drama character in history?" lol... we are talking about k-drama here.. deceptive characters are aplenty, and way more insincere than IW.
and the guy is honest where it matters and i would say more but then we would start another strife. lol.
and cute MV! and fav song for me too (one thing we agree on. lol)... i would lead you to another IWxHR mv but i'm sure you can search it urself if you wanted to see it. lol.

Thanks for that link....it's really nice and she IS beautiful! the only issue I have is ... do something with Yoon's hair style! It just doesn't suit him at all. he's got a head of thick hair....
I have to smile remembering some of the "short skirts" the females wear showing off their legs and it is distracting when they walk pigeon toed or knock kneed!
The other male actor who is sporting an unbecoming hair style is Cha Seung Won! Yikes....it just isn't doing a thing for him...in my opinion!
Hey....where did you go yesterday? I was waiting for you at our usual bench to do stretching exercises!???? did you end up taking a nap instead?

don't get me wrong, I love Linkin Park (and Fort Minor, though they stopped making stuff I think) but I only have their meteora CD.
I agree with your opinion of Beiber 100%. He's not terrible, but he's definitely over-hyped. What are his managers planning on doing once his voice breaks? A 3 year hiatus or something would be terrible for his fan-base. Think about Aaron Carter and Jesse McCartney. They just disappeared and though Jesse's back, he's no where near the top.
As for My December, looks like you're right! Josh Groban remixed the Linkin Park song. haha! learn something new everyday. I just assumed it was the other way around because I've never heard the Linkin park version and the lyrics seem very. . . Josh Groban-ish and soothing.
It's so strange to find someone out there with music tastes as eclectic as mine!
@eiko & anyone else who cares to share
If you were able to go meet any "hunky drama guy" in the world, who would it be?

Sighhhh....my mom used to do that to my sisters and I when we were growing up...read our journals, etc. I vowed that I would never do that to my children. She even tossed out all my personal things when I graduated from high school and went away....I cried when I returned and all the things I treasured were gone. Part of what I had to process in excess baggage in going from here to there and making changes in my own growth as a person. It was not alienating her....it was accepting her as she was because that's the only way she knew how to be. Coming to terms with that made me love her in a different way...more protective towards who she was because that was the whole package.
Psychology is part of how we deal with life....have always been intrigued with it...including psychotherapy. I have a book Gifts From A Course in Miracles by Frances Vaughan and Roger Walsh....I like stuff like that because it's really true.....you are your worst enemy! AND.....nothing but your own thoughts can hamper your progress.
Keep smiling!

I am laughing right now! Hunky males from drama land? Of course, Jang Hyuk would be one of them....Ko Joo Won; Su Ji Suk; Jung Ju Ho; Park Shi-hoo; Ji Jin-hee; Bae Soo-bin; Lee Chang-hoon; Kim Ji-hoon;
I mean....why settle for less than 50 or more? LOL LOL.....in other words, I would like to reincarnate into Korea! :-) I do believe in fate....thought I should add that in for good measure....I'll need all the help I can muster up! Only problem....I'm not a fan of kimchee....would that be a big problem?

glad to meet someone like you too!
lol... ur right... i wonder what will happen if bieber has a hiatus? and yeah, Jesse is back! his magic does not work as much as before but i'm still glad he's not a complete failure either... and i have to admit, that guy has a pretty face... and aaron carter... hmm. he's not as successful. but i used to like both their music.. i still do. even though i'm not their real fan (altho i have a collection of jesse's pix. lol), it is kinda sad to see someone's career take a turn, no matter who they are but i guess it can't be helped in this business...
@eiko
wow... my mom threw away a lot of important stuff when we moved continents too! i was already in the US and she was in charge of the moving and in the process, threw away a lot of my stuff. but in hindsight, i don't mind so much.. i'm the kind of person who cherish and keeps every little thing so when she kinda lifted the burden of keeping things... it's like a foil to my character and it's not like I died from not having them. i'm sad yes, but i survived rather well in the end. and do get angry at her for many things but then, you wouldn't believe the sacrifices she's made for me and my brother.. and most of the time, she's in the right and i'm in the wrong.. but even though i know this, i'm still stubborn. -_-". wish i could become wise soon. i'm too human for my own good.
"nothing but your own thoughts can hamper your progress." too true. and a big problem for me.
@eiko &staples
lol.... i agree with eiko... why limit urself... I once made a list of celebrity guys that I liked... and it ended up being too long that I gave up on the list in the end. (probably over 2-300)
aside from the language barrier, i think i would like to meet... nevermind. i thought i would be able to choose but i can't. lol. maybe if i did an "ideal world cup", i might be able to choose. i can say though that the human i heard of that's closest to my ideal type would be Wang Lee hom, a chinese artist. but then, pple don't always fall for their ideal type although i wouldn't know since i've never been in love. :)
and um... i dont know.. JGS seem pretty mature to me. hunky? maybe. pretty. yes. i know of someone who doesn't look his age.. LSG. i was so surprised when i knew how old he was.

As excited I was about posting that video, watching it again (it's only got clips from episode 3 &4 in it) has made me realise how TIRING episodes 3 & 4 were.
This Lost - AB Avenue song was pretty much the theme for 7 & 8, so I was hoping they'd have some more recent clips.
3 & 4 were a cycle of HR taking the hits, bawling her eyes out but then bouncing back (immediately) for the next round. And lo and behold! Out from this brutal wash cycle emerged a new good natured HR (who we could totally grow to love!). Except the more we found out about her, the more we realised she'd always been a love. But really 1 & 2 are crazy ridiculous to look back at now (I'v just watched some MVs feat. clips of 1 & 2). I can't believe it was the same girl.
I think if I was to ever re-watch this drama I'd jump straight to episode 5. That's where I totally fell for this drama.
I'm loving the crazy Park Shi-hoo fans! I'll let them have their fun, while it lasts. Muhahahah!
@ eiko
Hi hair was only ever THAT awful in that one scene, but I realise his hair must grow really long very quickly or something, he changes his hairstyle around twice every episode, and it seems to go from short cropped to slightly longer, I <3 all his recent styles though, defo not complaining.

well, I've been rewatching PP for the past 2 wks waiting for new ep of OML, PT, CS, and of course PP to come out... and ur right... ep 1,2,3,4 have less um, substance?, quality? connection? than in later episodes... nevertheless, i still enjoyed rewatching them because they had their own good moments...the craziness was somehow part of the entertaining. it was fun seeing KSY going all out on the spoiled shallow princess role. (lol.. the karaoke scene still gets me. it's like i have to watch it with half-closed eyes.. can't believe anyone so pretty would go to that length of ridiculous with so much zeal. lol) but then again, i can be really crazy and irrational about dramas... lol.
and yeah, Ma Hye ri is LOVE... and IW is going to be the lucky guy getting her. but Proscutor jin is not bad for Yoonie. lol.
and ur right about viikii... when i went in the page and found what u said to be true... LMAO! you know i'm team IW but still, i have to admit that my fellow teammates are quite over enthusiastic in this rivalry... i have to say that i'm dreading for team SJ when it turns out IW gets the girl at the end... it'll be quite painful to see IWooers going all out in their enthusiasm... almost makes me want to wish for nice team SJ to have a good ending but then, i'm too selfish for that. sorry.

@ twin:
'I’ve been chuckling over this news for a few days now, my twin may have read it. The Pangs brothers are gifted with a gigantic budget to make the first Asian 3D movie, tentatively called Wulin. Martial arts in 3D? Sure. But the Pang bros, who just finished butchering a sequel with Storm Warriors? Er, I’m already bemused. Best part of the story, they want top name Asian stars, including (its their list, not mine): Aaron Kwok, Jay Chou, Rain, Nicky Tse, and Takeshi Kaneshiro. Like, they want ALL of them, if possible. Ma brain exploded if these guys did a 3D wuxia movie. And if so, the only person who can direct them is, god help us, Tsui Hark. But its Tsui circa Swordsman. Can we resurrect him, please?'
W O R D!
Even with his bleh these last decade (?) I cant forget my love for TH doing good old Wuxia justice. The Swordsman, Once upon a Time in China... and I'm a fangirl of his earlier stuff in the 80s, he was the best director for me when I was in grade school!
The thing is even though I loathe Liang Yusheng as a wuxia writer (I think he's a good scholar, but his wuxia novels r just so poorly paced and he loved his tangents of vexing poetic), I liked his 7 swords of Mt Heaven best and TH did an awesome adaptation of a lukewarm wuxia novel w/ homage to 7 Samurai thrown in (for the newer KSY ie MHR fans, she's in that movie and imo that was the better performance in a SinoKorean collaboration, much better than the godly JDG in Promise)
but everything said IF the Pang bros really can gather that cast, you and I r not going to pass seeing those hunks in 3D!!!! ;)
PS: There's wind our loverboy is in talks for a new project... I hope he can escape the periods this time?!

Dearie, I sincerely hope cutie, machiavellian jerk IW has a happy ending too, and that his jail sentence won't be too insufferably long. I think if she only does him for the sexual assault (closing scene of episode 7) and drop charges relating to deception and stalking - he may not rot in there forever after all...? When he gets out, he'll always have his loyal chingu, Jeni. ;)

Oh no, the first 4 episodes didn't lack substance or quality, not for me, not at all. You're right, they were definitely wholly entertaining but OTT and they lacked that 'click' with the characters, it must've been deliberately done that way.
Actually even then there were some brutal scenes in 3 & 4 where I did truly empathise with HR (like the restaurant scene -- that poor girl!) and there were also some real winning moments even there like SJ's almighty flying kick, a memory I'll cherish, always. (Ugh! Don't even get me thinking about the karaoke scene, oh the humiliation.)
But I think the 'click' came about in episode 5 and connection then continued to grow stronger with each episode, kinda thing. Even IW became 'real' and discernible in that episode, not his motives obviously, just as a character.

Tsui Hark is my fave HK director of my youth as well. He's like Wong Jing with talent!! His fare may be mass-market, but its always classy and fun. Swordsman I and II, and OUATIC are his best work IMO, Chinese Ghost Story is forever my falling in love with Leslie moment (and it saved Joey's career - okay, raise hand if anyone didn't watch Chinese Ghost Story and fall madly in love with the little scholar that was Leslie, yeah, didn't think so, he's so wonderful my heart beats just thinking about his sweetness). Even for Lunar New Year fluff, he gives us my ALL TIME fave masterpiece of crap that is The Chinese Feast. And The Banquet is about the funnest piece of random movie ever made, with every single actor/actress in HK showing up in one movie. Oh, don't forget Twin Dragons (Jean-Claude Van Damme, you only WISH you could be Jackie Chan as twins).
But Tsui lost me around the time of Time and Tide, and Zu Mountain Warriors was the clincher he's lost his touch, it was Storm Riders without the hotness of Aaron Kwok (so why bother?). I never watched Seven Warriors (but will now that you mentioned it was a homage to Seven Samurai, squeee!), because the empty taste left byZu Mountain still lingered, and man Liang Wushen's wuxia novels are akin to reading The Sound and the Fury set in Wulin. I. Don't. Get. It. Or. Like. It. Meh, I'm populist like that. Gu Long as least gives me male fantasies run amok, but rather gigglewinkslappinch (my inner feminist stay happily sedated) and not tawdry, so I can accept that. And our love Jing Yong/Louis Cha, sigh.
My god, I'd fly to HK to see the movie on opening day if they did a 3D Wulin with that exact cast. And the opening shot of the movie had better be a scene with Rain and Aarok re-enacting the intro scene of Aaron from Storm Riders (hello, waterfall!), but this time a duel (swoon), and gimme my 3D glasses NOW! Grrrr, I'm agonna be touching some choco-abs soon.

Oh, and thanks for pointing out HJS's role in Devil. I may check that drama out some time, if it isn't too mentally, emotionally taxing (I am the ''rarely get suckered in, but once I do, I belong to it and it only'' - kind of drama-watching freak.
I'm really looking forward to Giant, which starts in a week. Initially I only wanted to watch it for a Kim Soo Hyun and Nam Ji Hyun reunion. If anyone's seen Will it snow for Christmas, you'll know that those two teens played younger versions of the leads; Kang Jin and Ji Wan, and were so, so winning! Especially Kang-jin - so intense.
They'll be together in the childhood portion of this drama, which looks like it'll be longer than in most dramas. I've also seen the trailer for it and it looks way better than I expected. It's a long drama but I am now tempted to watch it throughout.
Plus, PP my champion drama -- the only one I'm watching live, will only have two weeks left when this starts airing so it should prove a good replacement, now that it won't be Bad Guy (sniff!).

so i'll put my bet on him NOT going to jail... and him getting played on his on game and get his "sexual harassment" (dude, the girl sure liked it...) back from Hye Ri. ok, maybe the last part is me dreaming... but oh i wish!
looking forward to Giant too! and for the same reason! seriously, the best part of WISFC was the interaction between these two kids.. ok, so Go Soo was also a good part. but still, kim soo hyun impressed me. and song joong ki was super cute!! ok. that was random.

guess at the end, one of us will be smiling and the other wailing at the same time... lol

Ladies and gents of the OT. I have made it back to the sunny (albeit windy) shores of SF. It's great to be back. Am here for a friend's wedding but will drop by Vegas on the way home next week.
Am meeting up with a high school friend for drinks. Both of us just happened to be holidaying in SF at the same time. Haven't seen her since the last day of high school ... oh so many eons ago. Any suggestions, those living in SF, of a place for dinner and drinks?

Dude, during the sexual assault, HR looked frightened and like she was about to bawl her eyes out, later she ran down the street crying ''sunbaeniiim'' thinking he was somewhere around. Well he had been around but he'd misinterpreted the situation, thinking it was two lovers making out, little did he know. Hmph!
Yessss!!! This is going to be so fun, V! We're like drama buddies me and you! Even though we'll never quite see eye to eye with regards to IW and SJ, at least we'll agree on KSH! ;)

"dinner and drinks in SF"...it depends on how much time you guys have; if only for a couple of hours, there's a lot of (nice) restaurants in the Embaccadero District . Just a few blocks away, there's the Fisherman Wharf's area with nice Seafood dinings.
If you actually have a whole day, then hey, go to the Wine Country( Napa)-there, you have fine wines(tasting) and dining AND sightseeing....I might not be the person to recommend any good wines, but I LOVE my hometown, so ENJOY SF,where there's unlimited fine wines and good, delicious food...
If one of you guys is staying in a hotel, ask the concierge, he/she will proudly introduce you guys to SF finest ;)

i lol when i read your "Dude" and then I realized I also said dude in my last comment. dont know why, but that's funny how we called each other that...
okay about the kiss... she opened her eyes because she was surprised not frightened and because k-dramas always make their surprised kissing scenes with the girl opening their eyes... and afterward, she didn't wipe her lips in disgust, but more like touching them and pondering about it... that's a sign of a girl who has feelings but isn't sure about them. anyways, she sure was affected by it.. and like her friend said, she wanted it to be a kiss, not a peck! but really, you're right... i don't think we'll ever quite agree on IW and SJ but we agree to disagree so that's one thing right? and we both like PP! so yeah, hi drama buddy!
and KSH!!! kya... what a fine (in every sense), talented actor! lol.. it's okay to like younger boys... i think... lately, i've been growing older and new actors and celebrity are starting to have either my age or younger so i've been trying to cope with the feeling of discovering that the guy you thought cute was actually younger... slowly getting used to this.
and thanks for the MV! ADORABLE... it's definitely a really cute MV, for a cute couple... they have so much chemistry.. maybe because they are both strong actors
can't wait to see those two in Giant. i'm even afraid they might overshadow their adult counterpart.

You've just reminded me, I still need to watch FH. Shame on me!
@V
Yep, just as they overshadowed the adult actors in WISFC, although Go Soo was great, I think KSH's scenes somehow carried more of an impact, or maybe because the younger counterparts got the meat of the story.
Still, KSH is an amazing actor, he is flawless and considering his young age (22) he has such a commanding, mature screen presence he could put my Yoon Se-joon to shame. (And nobody else DARE put my Y! S! J! to shame!)
I've seen NJH in QSD and thought she was brilliant in that too, overacty but still lovable. In fact her and LYW's grown up Deokman kinda melded into each other, you couldn't tell they were two different actresses bar the age gap, the way they looked, talked/voice, facial tics, mannerisms - everything.
I think the difference here with Giant is they may not be together much as they won't be childhood sweethearts, it seems a lot like EoE, but still, these two will totally be in the same episodes together atleast - yes, that's right - togetherrr!

yeah! you should totally check FH.. i checked it as soon as it came out since he won me in WISFC and it's good and like eiko said, he is a handsome young man. i already knew him from the special jungle fish but it was his perf as Kang jin who won me... go soo was really great but so was KSH so it's really hard to tell who was greater... but either way, you're right, KSH's scenes had more impact.
and i remembered NJH from EoE and she was good but in QSD, it was so amazing how she matched up well with LYW... truly speaking she was the good part of QSD for me.. well except for Mishil. maybe that's why i stopped watching QSD rather early. or maybe because it was too long.
and YES! they will be together, whatever the context! even if there's no romance, we know we can prepare ourselves for some good impacting perfm... if their past dramas has been any indication, they will steal the show. Giant does look like EoE... or rather, it give off the same vibe but I sure hope it'll be less messy. I didn't hate EoE like many but i felt it wasted its potential.. big time. especially they had talented actors and how Kim Bum layed the path well for SSH.
sure... let's go OT spamming! hope we won't be in conflict for Giant, not that that would cause a big problem based on our actual IWvSJ sparring. lol

unni, twin
US launched 3D with a bunch of over-sized smurfs preaching about sustainable eco-tourism whilst hair-sexting their domesticateds.
Asia cinema is launching 3D with potentially Rain, Aaron and Takeshi topless and fighting.
I think we are the lucky ones. ;-)
Of course, Wulin as contemplated is a pipe dream (I could replace Jay with Chang Chen in a nanosecond), but with the Pang bros luck, we'll get a quintet of Ekin, Louis Koo, Jerry Yen, MatsuJun, and Kim Rae-won in Wulin (i.e. no one I would want to see with their shirts off and definitely NOT in 3D). Don't get me wrong, I can watch any of those five. But my dream 3D cross-Asian border dream team Wulin special would be (ahem, pardon the drool for a second): Aaron, Jang Hyuk, Takeshi (though at this current diseased state of mine, I'd secretly substitute Yamapi), Chang Chen, and (maybe) Huang Xiao-ming (but only if HXM kills it in Yip Man2, and if not, then I pick another K-hottie, So Ji-sub). Wulin is angst-filled existential wuxia, and who better than the men who understand existential, legions of hurt, type of pain (yeah, HXM, not gonna kick it with this gang).
See, my pipe dream can come true. 8-)

See TH is that bigger a name in Korea to maybe lure most those K-hunks on your pipe dream, twin.
I rem wayway back when I'm fangirling even an MV of binnieboy (Memory w/ LDH http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8WYie9i24w, imo they looked their best in that 4 min, I <3 how the face, the hair, how they r OTP, their clothes...EVERYTHING) and binnieboy (prior MNIKSS) mentioned in that MV's BTS he had dinner w/ TH (it's around his 7 Swords time).
and I saw some stills on the set of JH's AAE Chin redux. may I ask y is he sporting a Michael King do?!??! It actually looked better than I thought, maybe the fact that they r going a bit more mature instead of going for plain kid idol fluff..
and then Bi, if I can give him a bit of advice on his globalization plan, he should focus on the China market before Hollywood. Hollywood action flick is nowhere near any star vehicle, but the Chinese way is heavy on star powess and star making... he already has a giganormous fan base there, and enough credibility as an actor on top of being a world star... no need to go fr scratch as the token Asian in Hollywood.

*HELLO*
My Fellow Dramaturges!
I want to thank all the people that at one point or another have given my opinions, musings and ramblings some level of credence, I consider you my Kin, we are all congregated here at 'Dramabeans' Cathedral to ponder and reason the depths of the 'Human Experience' trough the eyes of a simple Novela, aka K-Drama, J-Dorama, T-Drama, C-Drama, and all the other ones included. But I must remind myself that my Opinion is not absolute but 'Fallible', so at this point I will humbly ask of you to not look down on me when I disagree with you, please be kind when I erroneously bring forth my misguided opinions, and when a vehemently make fun of yours, and show absolutely no regard for your feelings, after all this is a game of life and death, will the 'Hero' win the Damsel's heart at the end? Well I do not know, for that we will have to watch the next episode.
So thank you again for your kindness and support. Yours Truly. Amg1
P.S I am cooking some Pork and Peas Mexican Style and listening to 'KITARO's The Light Of The Spirit' one of the most beautiful instrumental songs of the modern era Enjoy!!!

When I visit my daughter in TX we go to a place in Ft. Worth....Mexican restaurant and they sell the crispy pork and there's something else my daughter likes to get. Anyway....I will get various types of veggies at the Vietnamese market and fix up a filipino dish that's like soup and toss in chopped crispy pork (chicharong) it's wonderful!
First you got Andrea going and now it's food! So what else do you cook?

I just realized that this place, is full with awesome parents. Cheers for you!
My dad understands my kdramas' obsession but unfortunately my mom doesn't.
but I live separately from them more than 10 years, so I never really feel 'the support' from my dad about my addiction, only reminders that I should not spend to much money for this addiction. :P
It's interesting and amusing to read your stories, about bonding time with your children through dramas, pop world, and so on.
I wish I can become a cool parent like you guys in the future! ( and still going to concert with teenage kid when I'm 60 )

You shoulda heard my uncle when he found out my TV was broken for a month and I never said a word! He got upset because I couldn't watch my Kdramas!!! LOL LOL...he was so cute! Of course, I didn't let him know that I've been watching my shows on my computer! To him it's only TV.....he likes to follow the historical dramas so now I let him know about the "others" that are also fun.
When You're Beautiful came out I sat at the computer with my grand daughter and we watched several episodes together....she was really into Shin Woo! I thought Jeremy was cute and enjoyed his character.
fun...lots of fun!

@6 celestialorigin
Pardon the interruption of the fascinating discussion of IW vs. General Choi (sorry, I still want General Choi for Xmas) for a techie interlude.
Ok, so - let's say you are in one area, and the video you want is saying you are not allowed to view from your region. Well, the way they are determining this is via your Internet Protocol (IP) address. This, with some exceptions, not a bad way of finding your location. The goal is to make your IP address an allowed address.
There are, generally speaking, a couple of reasonable ways of changing your IP address. The first and most accessible way is to use a proxy (or an anonymizer, which is a variety of proxy).
Real anonymizers generally will not work with video content providers because they actually strip off too MUCH information.....but, such is life.
A big downside to a proxy are that they are slower than a direct connection. And free proxies tend to be blacklisted fairly fast by content holders.
Personally I pay for a proxy that gives me a relatively random US east coast location and has only once been blacklisted (yes, I have my reasons). When I need to use a Japanese proxy, I go down a decent list of proxies in Japan and pick a reliable one (and yes, I do use Japanese proxies - the last time was to watch YouTube's Music Day Seoul, which was limited to Japan, Korea and Taiwan) There...poof! At this moment I am theoretically in Kakogawa Japan. To do the reverse, you need to go down a list of US proxies and find a good one - I use FoxyProxy, a Firefox add on, to manage the proxies.
http://www.proxylist.net is a generally reliable proxy list, the first numbers are the IP the numbers after the : are a port. If you are using FireFox and don't want to use FoxyProxy, you can also set up a proxy under Firefox;Preferences;Advanced;Network;Settings; and then manually set it up....OR on a Mac, you can set them under your Preference;Network;Advanced; Proxies.
YMMV - and like torrenting, sometimes proxy work is best left to the technoids as it can be twitchy and tech-heavy.

What That &*^$!!!!
*still speechless and utterly dumbstruck*
So this is what being hit with the KimuTaku sledgehammer must've felt like 15 years ago. Sigh, I was so busy with Toshiaki and Yutaka that I developed an immunity to His Lordship. But it's too late this time around. Crap in a handbasket, unni-ahhhh, reserve me the front seat on the car trip to hell (why are we walking? let's drive, m'kay, air-conditioning and all).
The first 10 minutes of Kurosagi is exactly what my twin said it would be. But it must be seen to be believed. It appears j-doramas have finally understood what fan-service in drama pairings mean. [Also, side-note, the only semi-similar TW equivalent of His Spacey Shiny Prince himself is Joe, circa The Rose]. There is absolutely ZERO, none, zip, no reason whatsoever to watch Kurosagi Unless and Until you have seen Nobuta wo Produce. And see the chemistry when Akira power meets Nobuta power.
And then Kurosagi becomes instantly the fan-serviciest j-dorama I have ever seen. Kurosagi is allowing us to cosplay Yamapi (OMG, how come no one thought of that? oh what, there is a drama equivalent, TBDAW cosplayed Junki, but it was like 6 iterations of Junki, but my gut tell me since Kurosagi is 11 eps, we're cosplaying 11 versions of Yamapi - please God, let one be Yamapi channeling his best imitation of Johnny Depp circa Edward Scissorhands).
The second Yamapi jumps down the train tracks, holds Maki in his arms, they stare at each other while the train is 2 yards away!!!! in slow-mo, this shit is not to be believed. I don't care if the plot, acting, general meaning of the universe does not compute in Kurosagi, I'm watching this baby until the we get the hell off the Island. And when did pouting half-lidded strutting become acting? I don't know, what Yamapi does is review and judgment proof.
And lastly, when did the skinny space alien work out and actually look like a young man? Oh jesus, this is not happening. If I ever call out MINE with respect to the Golden Child of Johnny's, please slap me around a few times. Right now he's all I want to watch.

@eiko, OML is just as good as PP but in a different way, I do not know why people feel so strong about younger man/older woman or
older man /younger woman,
me have always enjoy the company of younger woman, I must admit that in the long run it has its ups and downs, experience and not maturity I believe is a big factor, maturity comes by experience and not the other way around, my daughter got pregnant at 19 she is 25 now and she is more mature than a lot 30+ single woman, again because of her experience she mature.
I believe that Min-woo is maturing a lot because of Ye-eun and Kae-hwa.
Is not that Kae-hwa does not like Min-woo but as JB pointed out a woman with her experience is not looking for a one night stand with a 'Pretty Boy' she needs someone she can depend on. it reminds me of Pal-gang's attitude concerning romance, I do like Kae-hwa and Min-woo as a couple, she is trying to make him a proper man and he is really trying to meet her expectations, which I feel are sound and valid if they are to have a successful family life in the future!!!!!!
Kitaro, Vanglis, my favorite modern instrumental composers!!

eiko:
it's Kang In who will enter the military service ( good for him. good for his image and his personal life, I think. I hope he can come back as a better and wiser person ), Kibum who will continue doing his acting activities ( i wonder why he doesn't resign from Super Junior altogether? he's not into singing anymore, why bother? ) and of course Han Kyung ( i feel sad about him ).
I, somehow have wishful thinking that Zhou Mi and Henry can join in this new album. They don't have much activity in China anyway and I heard they often stay in Korea to train, why don't they join the group?
You are cool grandmother! Hahaha. I read sukispop's comment on Personal Taste's post, how he watched kdramas with his daughter, and reminds me of my own father. I watched one of old BYJ's drama with him on my holidays few years ago, we ranted together, oh how I miss that moment.
My aunt, who is already a grandmother of a teenage girl, watches Kdramas with me. We call each other to discuss them, giggling like teenage girls over hot K-actors ( we both like Joo Jin Moo ), but her grand daughter rolls eyes on us. hehehe.

Mahalo for your input about OML....I really believe that if two people connect and it becomes special...age doesn't matter. It's how they relate to each other. You can have 2 people with the same interests and they have good friendship....but there's no connection that goes beyond that...platonic...it's still a good thing. What I am seeing with Min Woo is a progressive growth from an egotistical idol to a caring person. he's gone from "kid" to "man" and in the process he has been experiencing some feelings he never noticed before. Example of that change is his first encounter with his daughter and this recent episode....he's carrying her. I also was pleased with his action when he knew KH was being harassed and he went to rescue her. It's like taking baby steps to finally walk and then run.
Kang-ha and Pal-gang struck me as interesting....I was touched by the fact that he accepted her siblings so readily and willingly....and he loved her and accepted her as she was. he saw the inner Pal-gang. I would bet in real life, that relationship would make it in that type of situation....the love is unconditional. Remember that scene in their hangout and Tae-kyung proposed? When KH stood up at the sight of the ring and the proposal....I clapped! That look on his face was PRICELESS!
Your daughter took on her responsibility....I'm sure credit must be given you for being supportive. Lessons in life must be dealt with as they occur....it's not punishment but another level of growth. Like you....my daughter went through lessons in her teen years and I stood by her and .....as a single parent I did what I could but never did I ever make her feel she was any less a person.
I always taught my children to be responsible for their choices....I was there for them but not to clean their mistakes or make excuses. I have 2 sons....one is with the Air National Guard and the other a police officer. I am very proud of what they have achieved for themselves.
It's so very true that experience is the best teacher.....and I've learned my lessons by making mistakes and remembering what my grandmother used to always say....make same mistake twice...but not again. :-)
And Vangelis is another name that's familiar. I don't have any of my cassettes....I gave them all away.
Wow...this is a journal! Nice to meet you....this has been an incredibly fulfilling OT!

Yes...thanks for the info...I think I saw that somewhere not long ago.about Kang In...and it might have been in another newsletter.
I believe Chul is still part of the group, right? He was not very active at one point and wanted to drop from the group but they refused to let him go and kept his slot open. he's a good actor....really sweet person.
That's really neat to have that relationship with your aunt. I love it when I hear about family closeness....that's why I admire the cultural upbringing of family and how they look after one another.
Have a great Tuesday!
