Spoilers, I guess for PT ep 10
@ belleza and serendipity: I swore I would not open my computer on Sundays, but here I am. Belleza: thanks for a very thoughtful (as usual) post on PT. I like your conceptualization of their relationship as taking place distinctly but in parallel inside and outside the house... but in contrast to serendipity, I think there is still a frustration around the not talking. When Jin Ho walks away from Kae In's offer to marry him "anyway" (to satisfy his need to satisfy his mother, as she sees it), and chides her in absentia for not asking him if he could love a woman, that seemed to me to putting the responsibility for sorting out this gay-not-gay mess squarely on her shoulders. "Why didn't she ask me if I could love a woman?" why would she??? She thinks he's gay, she's heard him tell Chang Ryul he's gay... why is it her responsibility to ask him if he could possibly be not gay? Jin Ho had the perfect opportunity when she offered to marry him to say, sure, and by the way, this will work out great b/c in fact I'm not gay and I wanted to marry you anyway. Instead he lets her suffer on alone, now additionally crushed by not understanding why he doesn't even want to be friends (and not knowing the significance of that phrase for him). I did not like him at all in that moment. That was cruel.

Thankfully, he made up for it later by demonstrating that since BBF he's learned how to kiss. Wonder who gave him lessons?

the only thing that I thought about with Kimutaku....is he a smoker in real life? He was a chain smoker in that drama Beautiful Life....

@52 reluctantbutaddicted

You noticed that kiss in PT ep 10, huh? That was my first reaction when it happened and I sat up straight and went....HEY...HE CAN KISS!!! BBF launched him but his leading lady didn't help any in the romance scenes.

I still have to wonder why the director can't "teach" the actors to do a "normal" kiss but many close their eyes and I have to laugh because during that moment I'm waiting for someone to miss the mark! I mean, it's like they use their nose for honing to find the right spot. The experienced ones know how to do it!

And while I'm on it.....CSW sure knew what he was doing in his kiss scenes with KSA in City Hall!!!! Wow....

@eiko
ur welcome ^^
yeah, there was chul in 1000yrs too! hihi.. "tummy ache" sorry you had to go through that. -_-"
yeah, choi si won is quite easy to look at. especially when he smiles or turn on his charms. *faint*
but i noticed the signature too. when he signed it and said that ye eun could boast about having an autograph from MW, i was like "what r u thinking???"
but yeah, i'm sure the ending will be happy... poor guy, he couldn't handle one daughter, who is btw the cutest girl kid i've seen ever!, and he'll end up with 2 in the end. lol.
actually, although the husband irritates me, he kinda redeemed himself a bit when he was concerned that chae rim would be bullied
the real guy that i dislike is the reporter... and the manager too! god, they are hateful.
even park han byul character is better than them.
and yeah, the chief definitely needs to realize that he is partially at fault too. i would not condone adultery but i understand the choreographer. i would go crazy too if i lived 24/7 with a guy who never smiles and is apathetic to what i do. i'd want to rebel too. and i'm glad his wife and KH are getting along fine...

*edit*
well kimutaku seems to smoke in most of his dramas so i think it seems likely the guy is a smoker.. altho a lot of J-actors smoke in their dramas so...?
and yeah, i was shocked LMH could kiss like that.. damn... what a change from bof. and City hall!!! CSW 's kiss still lingers in my mind.

@v:
well, I have a whole lot of Chinese friends so I thought dramas would help me learn chinese. Lately I started watching a bunch of korean ones and my chinese learning slowed dramatically lol. And I started picking up korean words . . . so now I'm trying to balance the two.

I fixed the drama ratings page, by the way, so you can see the whole list of everything I've watched and rated.

I think hindsight makes me harsher, lol. The way I think of my ratings is 5 is average, so I didn't enjoy it, but I didn't hate it. So 6 becomes liked it, but it wasn't awesome. . . wait. . . I think I am kinda harsh. Maybe I'll go change my ratings lol.

@55 v

Did you notice that 2 women handled their marital situations differently? Chief's wife had an affair.....KH would get sick when she ate that beef stew? :-)

I don't like KH ex because he treated her like she was low life. he disrespected her as a person....and remember, he wants her to take back the daughter now. I think his wife is giving him flak about that situation.

The reporter is just a pain in the butt....but that's part of his job. The one I dislike is MW's manager/agent. That guy is a real scum bag....he even looks like one! He said some pretty awful things about the person who is paying his salary....I think MW will toss him out.

And...I'd like to see the reaction of the other female who referred to KH as an "employee"....and was getting her hooks into MW! Remember that car scene where he was going in for a kiss and got the flash back image of KH at the refrigerator? LOL LOL PRICELESS!!!

Tomorrow is gonna be a great day!!!

@ 55 staples

you need to keep yourself grounded in what you are doing....your ratings are what you feel worked for you. if i were you....i wouldn't even bother with ratings....just post dramas according to popularity. we all have opinions and preferences....if you change what you started off because it was a good idea you defeat your own purpose of sharing.

of course, this is just my opinion. good luck with what you are doing!

Congrats to JDG and KSY! Am I shallow for staring at the guests instead of the happy couple? Nah, it was a veritable parade of whos who, prolly the largest convo of A-lister since Luke's mommy and daddy tied the knot 2 years ago.

Binnie seemed weirdly out of place, his gray suit and the fact that everyone else has finished their MS year ago. Best dressed, IMO, goes to Kim Nam-gil, perfect from head to pornstache to toe. Close second was Cha Seung-won, but as a model, NO ONE wears a suit better, he's a walking Armani hanger. Lee Jung-jae, reowr, I'm dying for The Housemaid, and he's totally channeling his Air City alter-ego here.

My robot and JJM look like they were ready to go right back into filming, Oh blood brother of mine, I can't quit you!! :-P And SJS, *giggles*, man, you can do anything, dude, and I'd still love you. But c'mon, you're not going to a biker convention, you know. But you is surely the sexiest biker I has ever seen.

And who'd have thunk it, Shin Mina out legged and out short-shorted Ha Ji-won. Girls got some fine fine legs, both ladies of course. But thank god no one was dressed like they accidentally thought it was a funeral. Color, people, color.

Sigh, I love weddings, can't wait to see the lil' bebe soon.

@staples
haha... i totally get what you are saying... i pick up japanese, chinese and korean when i watch dramas.. although now, without sub, i can understand around 60% of what the jap stuff are saying... but not so much for korean and chinese... korean is probably the language i have the most trouble picking up words. but i usually pick up languages easily... i also learned english through TV. lol.
and yeah, i'll go ahead and check your drama ratings page...
and for ratings... it's actually quite hard to put a number... because take full house.. it's a drama that i loved while watching (much more than the majority of dramas i've watched) even if the ending is a draagggg but with hindsight, i would give it a low rating... but then, it made me enjoy things more than others... so yeah. and then, sometimes, i rate two dramas with the same ratings but when i compare those two, i'm like, are they really at the same level?
@eiko
haha... you're right. both women handle things differently... the choreographer punishes the husband while KH punishes herself... not healthy either way.. but KH sure is an angel when you think about it.
yeah, i don't like KH's ex either. especially when he has such a low opinion of her. why marry her in the first place really? i was just saying that he wasn't completely insensitive to her plight.
and the manager is a true scumbag... and yeah, he certainly looks like one. i don't know what about him in terms of physical appearance that makes me dislike him. maybe the thick lips? he even admitted to going to prison before.. not that anyone who goes to prison are necessarily scumbags, and even those can redeem themselves...
yeah, park han byul can probably EAT IT now... love how she thought KH was no competition... way to deflate her ego... and I loved it how CSW couldn't kiss her because of his flashback... at the risk of being a parrot.. PRICELESS!!!
i'm really wondering how they are going to play up ep 13. because right now, i don't feel much romantic love between those two so that has better be well developed. the main draw for me is how i like MW, and KH, and Ye Eun!!!! but i don't feel them as a couple yet, or at least as strongly as i feel for other couples out there.
@ockoala
don't worry... i took more time staring at the guests than at the couples too! who can blame you really? although they sure make one fine-looking married couple

@ v

Yep....I agree about the couples thing between MW and KH....there's not that chemistry, of sorts, that you feel with couples. I think it's because their "friendship" has been platonic and he's been outside of the box the whole time. I think he's only thought about it in this last episode....

Didn't he look just FINE....in that suit? Made me think of Last Scandal and when the male lead did the press conference about his son and openly acknowledged the woman he loved. That sounds like OML but OML was mild in revelation.

Hmmmm....now I'm wondering if they will play out the press converging on KH in trying to see her! Because that's what happened with Last Scandal! If they do....then MW will protect KH by embracing her and telling her not to worry because he'll take care of everything.

Oh....I am really gonna look forward to tomorrow!!!!

yep i do! she's been with him fore more than 7 or 9 or 11 yrs... can't remember which one... lol. but basically a long time... and she looks much more sympathetic in real life than in her dramas... thank god for that or se7en would be a pitiable man. lol
haha.... that's what i thought too when i saw the scene... it totally reminded me of Last Scandal... but my ultimate first thought when I saw that was... WOW... Choi Si Won is HOT in a suit! lol
yeah, i really wonder if he is going to embrace her or something... i sure hope their platonic relationship (well, except for the kiss bit) would change next ep... so far, MW has been switching up between a man and a selfish and a bit immature boy... can't wait till he becomes a TRUE man
hey, less than a day of waiting.

well, i'm out for a while... i have lunch! and then shopping.. lol

I've got some mad open thread addiction here. I like to put off coding for just about anything, but this open thread... it's full of crazy awesome right now.

Sunday mornings I try to shuffle through new music releases and MusicStation/Inkigayo/what have you live performances, so the talk of 2PM/Super Junior is much appreciated. Does anyone watch Project Runway Korea? Because I saw Karas outfits for We're with You and I thought to myself "Well American Project Runway did outfits for female wrestlers, has creating a Kpop units outfit ever been a challenge?" Someone fly in Michael Kors as a special judge for that week, oh the things he'd have to say about some of their fashion! And SNSD is going away for f(x) to return I guess? I don't know. NU ABO should be released in Japan since they're crazy about blood type stuff.

Ur welcome!
@eiko
did i miss smth? at the risk of sounding stupid and rude(?), your GRANDdaughter??
um, are you a grandma? that would give me hope of convincing my parents that Pop is not synonym of Crap. okay, no chance of that.
haha... i don't know if I love all the groups with guys.. okay, heck, I DO love all the groups with guys.. but maybe not obsessed by all of them.. 2PM is great, but i have this fondness for Super Junior. They may not be all manly but they are great fun, and can be surprisingly talented when you least expect it. lol. they remind me a bit of J-groups but more talented. but 2PM sure are yummy and they've improve so much too.
@janna
lol. i watch all the music shows too! (maybe ur thinking of Mnet countdown and Music core too when you say whatever live programs?) i don't follow project runway korea but I do tune in once in a while. haha.. michael kors WOULD have something to say. aside from outfits, i actually like Kara's MV and song. T-ara's song is not bad too.
haha.. "NU ABO should be released in Japan since they are crazy about blood type stuff" i thought it was in korea where they are constantly talking about blood type.. although, it's true that in jp, they talk about it too. but JE group NEWS already released a song called "Koi no ABO"...

@67 v

LOL LOL....yes...GRAND daughter! Age is a state of mind....many people end up staying there and never go beyond a certain point. I take after my maternal grandmother who used to take me just about everywhere and on weekends she would take me with her into the mountains and hills and valleys to explore and pick wild fruits, etc. I loved it! My whole family was like that....fishing, camping, hiking, exploring, swimming....

Super Jr. is a really neat group. I also like SS501. And I really like RAIN. He's been through tough times....there's something about him that makes him attractive.

I am assuming that you live at home with parents, right? Somewhere in your thoughts....remember to honor them now and respect who they are. No matter how tough it gets....one day you will be where they are and it will all click in.
I know....been there, done that. ;-)

@eiko
wow... you sound so cool! i'm extremely extremely impressed! lol. and your family sounds cool too! and I love swimming, and hiking!
i wonder if i can be as open minded as you are in the future.. i was raised in a closed-minded family and although i grew out of that and beyond, it cant be helped that deep down, i do tend to be conservative on core things i was taught. looks like childhood education sticks to you no matter what. lol.
and yeah, i live with my parents. and i think the way i sounded led to some misunderstandings... I DO love and respect my parents and i'm super grateful to everything they have been through for me and my brother... okay, there was a time of teenage rebellion but i'm over that. although, there's no doubt there are still some disagreements between us but all that's just surface. and i'm human (maybe TOO human) so i tend to complain on petty things like grocery shopping but on the basics, we're still an oriental family.
well, i took interest in SS501 first when KHJ was in We got married and grew to like the other members as well.. and yep, Rain is epic.. truthfully, he's not that conventionally good looking (aside from his body), and he doesn't have the best voice but i think it's his character that makes us like him. btw, how do you feel about his comeback? i quite like it and was impressed. and Lee Hyori as well. way to show the way of veterans and how to do it right.
oki, now I have to go.

@69 v

Thanks for sharing about you. sounds like you're just a normal young person growing up. we all go through the rebellious stage....what matters is how we come out of it and who we affect. i knew that i didn't want to raise my children the way i was as far as emotional/mental distress. i was brought up in an oriental setting so i know where the issues were/are. but we all have to make choices as we grow older and as we learn and live on our own.

one of the things i was able to come to terms with was "forgiving" my mother in the way she brought us (2 other sisters) up. i understood her as doing the best she knew how with the limited education she had....if there were any changes to be made, i had to do it with my children.

i must smile and tell you that we all go through trials and tribulations growing up....wanting to run away and live with some one else was always inviting! the grass was always greener on the other side. looking back....i wouldn't change anything nor do i regret any of it.

yes, there is something quite special about RAIN....when I read about his life...i was very touched by how he has grown and worked hard and how he honors his now deceased mother, his present sister and father. There was a law suit involving one of his concert tours here a few years ago....i believe he made 2 court appearances and then he made changes to the agent who was handling his concerts. he paid the fines, etc that the courts ordered. there aren't many entertainers who are like him....it's like he has a special aura that people feel and respond to.

it's early morning here....have to do some chores.

enjoy the day and take good care of you!

eiko, you sound like the coolest grandmother in the world! (aside from both of mine, of course ;))
ditto what v said: my family and I love hiking, biking, camping, etc. My goal is to become a grandmother who can climb trees, lol. I have no idea how to get there though. . .

yeah, Rain is definitely not conventionally handsome face-wise, and his voice isn't so great either.

Personally, I discovered DBSK/TVSQ?? a while back and I really love their singing. I mean, they can SING!! Super junior, is, of course, a favorite. Especially after watching the Sorry Sorry parody on "You're Beautiful." As for 2PM I really love their song "Confession of a Friend" (or was that 2AM. . .?)

It was really funny because my biology class was having this enormous argument of 2AM and 2PM and half the people understood what was going on and the other half were just like o_O. The greatest part was that there are only 2 koreans in that class! and the rest of us are chatting away like pros. The teacher finally shows up and just stares at us. He has this very cynical stare. . .

How neat to know you have cool grandmothers, Staples....I am in good company!

It's fun when my grand daughter comes over and she wants to show me something on the computer.....a neat song by a favorite group! She'll be going on a school tour end of this month for 10 days to Japan. She's very excited....Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and side trip to Hiroshima. She's into photography so she'll have her new canon with telephoto lens. She's been taking Japanese language since intermediate school.

That Sorry Sorry was done on the drama City Hall also....that's when I first heard about Super Jr. I was visiting with my grand daughter and I told her there's this really cool song on one of the dramas called Sorry Sorry and she got all excited and went to her computer and pulled up the You Tube site....as soon as I heard it I showed her some of the dance moves and she was laughing! hehehehe....of course, her mom thought I had really lost it!

Girls....enjoy the rest of the weekend....I totally enjoyed connecting with you!

Nobuta ep. 2 and 3 is lightyears, like, another galaxy far far away, better than ep. 1. If it wasn't for you guys, I would have chucked it after the dull ep. 1. Plus, ever see something happening before your eyes, its inexplicable, you want to stop it, but you can't. Well, Yamapi has cast a spell on me. I call him the Edward Cullen of the drama world (the realization came when he was dressed as a frankenvampire in the ghost house ep, I suddenly knew it was kismet). No, not Rob P., the novel version of EC. Shiny, handsome yet wooden. I can't stop watching him.

@ momosan

Fine, fine - how can I go up against mine own unnis. K!R!W! got the girl, god rest his sanity. :-P

Michael King not only lost his brain, he lost his charisma, and all the zip is gone. This weekend's eps were mindnumblingly boring to sit through. Please writers, bring it back for the final haul. I was thoroughly enjoying this fun weekend ride, and being bored is that last thing I want to happen to AMCG. And what happened to BB? The last time a female lead suddenly lost so much screen time, Lee Da-hae was walking her dog.

@ epyc, simplesim-moni

I am now proud owner of BSGS! I won't watch such a long drama online, need to snuggle in my pillows to enjoy KJH doing his thang.

*Prosecutor Princess*

Kim So-yeon portrayal of 'self center, dim wit, naive, and gullible, lawyer turn Prosecutor Ma Hye-ri is in my humble opinion, one of the best acting gigs in a long time in the history of K-Dramas if not the best .
Kim So-yeon again has shown that you can take the unassuming banal and benign character of Ma- Hye-ri and turn it in to a force to reckon with.

My first impression of Ma Hye-ri was one of apprehension, was Ma Hye-ri a cheap Korean version of (Elle Woods) and their attempt to recreate the K-Drama version of 'Legally Blond'?. But I am glad that I watched pass episode one.

To my surprise Ma Hye-ri has taken me so far in a journey of self discovery and hope of which I cannot fathom at the beginning of the drama. In Hye-ri's mind indeed there is a rhyme and reason why she behaves the way she does, and her apparent lack of empathy does not come out of nowhere.

Her lack of 'Prosecutor fashion sense' becomes and apparent negative to her in relation to her peers, and her lack of commitment to work long hours
while not getting paid for overtime creates a rupture in her bonding relationships at work, while this may seem right in the
eyes of her peers she knows that it is not right in the part of her Bosses to be expected to work overtime without getting paid for it, I do like Hye-ri sense of justice that's one of the main reason why she does have the right personality to become a top notch Prosecutor.

One of the most endearing qualities about Hye-ri is her ability to bounce back from any set back, her resilience in the face of people making fun of her in her face or behind her back is something that sets her apart from the run of the mill 'Damsel in Distress' K-drama heroine, her ability to forgive others is one of the main reasons why she has won her coworkers over her side, after that scene at the restaurant, where they where betting about her quitting, she did not hold a grudge against them.
By going undercover and getting hurt, she prove to her peers that she is not only willing to work hard but when she puts work as her first priority she is as good as them or even better.
The way she has handle her cases has shown that she in not only wiling but able to learn from her mistakes, a quality that is necessary for all successful people to achieve great things. From the 'Fighting Ajummas' the 'Aggravate Assault' , the 'Child Sex Abuse', the 'Murder Case', have shown how brilliant she really is and how good she really is at what she does and the most important part, How to empathize with others .
The thing that I like the most about 'Prosecutor Princes' is that behind the cute facade of this benevolent 'Make You Feel Good' drama has mange to tackle some very heavy subjects while maintaining its levity.
Last but not the least, the way that Hye-ri is pursuing romance is a breath of 'Fresh Air' from most other K-Drama heroines and I feel the is 'The' main reason why it sets her apart from the rest. After all she has overcome from childhood to becoming and adult, she has and I mean it 'dammit ' she has earn the right to tell Prosecutor Se Joon that she 'Fancy's Him” without feeling guilty. I totally love how she is fair to Prosecutor Jung Sun in their rivalry over their felling over Se Joon, she even stop carpooling with them. She is all in all the 'Classiest' K-Drama Heroine to have come around in a long long time,,,,, 'Prosecutor Princess 100%' To Da Max!!!!!! : O }

@Amg1
Can I just add to that?
This is Kim! So! Yeon! She can eat that 10 x that bimbo in LB for breakfast. This was another case of REALLY bad marketing by SBS, right down to its lame-ass title.
I would probably put this drama in whatever genre City Hall is in, it's as bipolar as it. But I'll stop the similarities there as this show is unique in its own right.

OK, I'm digging up episode 9s drunk convo again!
(SPOILERS AHEAD!!)
Yes, drinking scenes were sparse in this drama, but if you're going to get any honest words and tears out of IW, it would only be if he was wasted.

IW: I...I... I... don't want to do this anymore.

Jeni: Are you talking about Ma Hye Ri?

IW: She's... so ... so bird brained...
(are you taking notes? That's derogatory slur #1)

IW: I can't do it. She's too easy.
(BINGO! #2)

Jeni: What are you talking about?
(yes exactly IW, WTF?)

IW: I keep fooling and fooling her... and she keeps on trusting me...
(#3 & #4 killer combo!)

and then he changes direction...

IW: She discerns the sincere words I've said amidst everything else.
(I totally noted this sh*t-filtering quality of hers a while ago, good girl.)

IW: She picks out my sincerity... I'm going to go crazy, Jeni.

He never expected HR to be such a complex creature, did he?
She's outsmarted him with her outstanding sharp memory and sh*t-filtering skills - and he can't handle her anymore, I think he's afraid he's going to get caught more than anything else.
Instead he's calling her 'easy'. Note that she does NOT trust him, not in the same way she trusts SJ. Yet everytime IW's accidentally sincere she allows herself to give in to him, as a friend, but at the majority of times she's kept him at arms length.

Yes, sorry, I'm right back in the SJ v IW ring again. She trusts SJ more, you ask?
Yes, she does. Her conversations with IW are usually a load of mindless banter and fun, yet when it's been something closer to her heart it was SJ who heard her out.
1) Her painful recollection of memories -of when she was obese. (Gazebo scene, episode 6.)

- I remember IW musing to himself when he found this out: ''Hye-ri, we're still not friends yet?'' Let's just keep that question rhetorical, for the sake of IW's manly pride.

2) Her dad! The part where she admitted she'd done something as crazy as she did because she needed cases desperately or she'll have to suffer her dad's wrath. (Episode 4. In the fields, after SJ saved her and then earblasted her for doing something so dangerous.)
Yes, to some extent she'd told IW the same too, but not as earnestly as she told SJ, and sweetheart SJ remedied that.
At this discovery, IW mused: ''Yoon Se-joon, are you better than me?''
-- again, let's keep that rhetorical... Oh, who am I kidding..? Yes... YES! He's better!

Oh I have plenty more pro-SJ golden nuggets yet, that I'll be casting before any IW supporters in need of further evidence of SJ's awesomeness. But maybe I'm posting this in the wrong place?

@momosan. Double sticky tape, LOL that is totally righteous.
@eiko. Indeed a beautiful Lady Oh My My My.
@ supah. I just finish watching the first Episode again to confirm the fact that Jenny is the woman that hold her friend Yoon Ah away from the skiing resort, so we know now that In-Woo's plan was to go back to America with Jenny, and him falling for Hye-ri was never in his plans, and also the 'Muffin Incident' does not give us any clue whether the were in love as kids, In-woo has been in Korea at least a year that's what Hye-ri pictures In-woo has point out, I still feel that unless something really drastic happens between Hye-ri and SJ, In-woo has a very slim chance to be Hye-ri's man in the end, I do agree the way SBS marketed PP as a LB remake was not the right way to go!!!

Ah, yes, that Jin Ho moment was a WTH one for me, a blot in the honest-relationship copybook. I'd gone past it on the basis (established long ago) that if I were to enjoy a romcom of this calibre, I shouldn't analyse too much. Now that you've brought it up, I realise that scene just proves that this is an enjoyable but not top-notch drama. Granted they need to prolong the romantic tension, but there was a perfectly good way to do that in that scenario without such a logic fail. Jin Ho could just as easily have been peeved by Kae In's proposal because if one doesn't buy her superhuman self-sacrifice, one would draw the conclusion that she is saying she is confident that she is able to sustain a platonic friendship even through a lifetime of close proximity, i.e., that she doesn't care for JH in the way he wants her to (and, actually, that's where I would be in real life -- I can't believe that if she truly loved JH she would dream of putting herself in such an intolerable (and precarious) position for a lifetime; I wouldn't).

PT gives me whip-lash, to be honest. One moment I feel my heart gripped, next moment my eyes are rolling into their sockets...

@ ockoala

Nobuta -- So glad you are enjoying. I felt that Nobuta managed by-and-large to keep its momentum going and turn up more quirkiness. Except that I should warn you that I found the ending pretty WTH -- but more WTH-LOL than WTH-I-want-to-shoot-someone-now.

In other news, Seishun Amigo has reached the "most played" top-spot on my iTunes. I've always found it a cheery ditty and now it's on my jogging playlist it gets played a lot. I think it might deserve permanent residence on that playlist, because thinking of the sheer balls of such blatant slashiness puts a smile on my face and a bounce in my step...

gosh... 4 hours of grocery shopping from store to store to store... i'm totally exhausted right now.. going to sleep early
lol..
@ supah, you're back to SJ v IW huh? well, i'll discuss that with you later when ive energy to open my eyes. meanwhile, let's just say HR LOVES IW!
@eiko
haha... i still can't get over how cool you are. and i'm not exactly old now but looking back to the small number of years i've lived, i would say that i would not change anything... really, if my parents took so much effort to be strict with me and I am still way below their wanted standard, what would happen if they were relaxed with me? i wonder...
@Amg1
yes, KSY is a goddess. if you can access soompi, go to her thread, there's plenty of pictures where she is just Gorgeous!
and the best actress ever! seriously, her role in All About Eve is SO EVIL, with no trace of the real KSY. and in IRIS, she kicked ass! and you're right, Ma HR is such a loveable character. i especially likes how she handles her "rivalry" with prosecutor Jin. well, she's certainly less cool about Jenny (hint.. that's true love girl. IW has captured your heart!)
@staples
lol. confession of a friend is by 2AM which totally rocks! i love all their ballads and even their dance song I did wrong.
aw... arguably, it can be said the DBSK is THE group of Korea. if I have to choose only one korean group, it would be DBSK. too bad you knew about them only when they were about to break up. what happened is too sad TT
and it's so cool that your class knew about 2PM and 2AM. i'm not sure many people in my school know about them, except for asians.
@ockoala
haha... Akira has cast a spell on you huh? well, not many pple are imune to AKira power! hope you'll enjoy the rest of the drama
i was team Edward too when I read Twilight... thought the guy was totally romantic, and gorgeous, and whatever other perfect characteristic Meyer chose to give him
and then I read the recaps of Dan_Bergstein on Sparknotes and now, I'm neither team Edward nor team Jacob. I'm team Dan!!! seriously, the guy writes hilarious recaps for Twilight! lol.
so i'm over Edward now... but still not over Pi, and even less over Kimutaku!

okay... i'm off to sleep so that I can catch up on OML tomorrow!!

and just because i feel like it.... PP rocks! and IW and HR belong together. perfect SJ can go with prosec Jin if he wants and Jenny, well.. um. i'll pair u up w/ sme tomorrow!

@ belleza

Yay!!! What a nice uumph for my black monday to see THIS belleza!!! :-D And a 'deep' insightful view on the couple. I just finished ep4 lastnite (of course peek at the other eps for spoilers, zero self-discipline). Now will see and enjoy this couple more. Thanks @belleza and hope all's well with you. Btw, are you watching Dong Yi? I stopped, couldn't get on it. I like my King to be like Jumong or Yisan, excellent swordsman, archer and all and this king is opposite. LOL

@ockoala

So excited for you! :-) Is your BSGS set with good eng subs? I can't find one with good eng subs and yesasia is too expansive. Mine is with Chinese subs and since I can't read mandarin I have to watched it dubbed! Btw, just to clarify if you haven't started, LMK is not KJH's brother. SPOILER!!!!!!! He's KNG's second brother. Poor Bidam! :-(

@eiko - oh this is nothing! I've spent a few hours having an epic battle on msn against a close friend who's team IW. It was mean and nasty, but I WON! Hee hee!
I really need a life don't I?
Yes, let's do some stretches!

@Amg1
Aaah, yes!
(SPOILERS!!)
But remember the continuation of drunk-crying-confessions in ep10?
At first I felt his tears were 'oh sh*t! I think I pity her', BIG HINT: all those insinuations of her being a bit of a freak and retard, come on, they weren't subtle.
but in the continued version you begin to get the gist that maybe he has fallen for her... until Jeni drops it!

''But this is why you picked her, remember? (DUN DUN DUN!)
You said Ma has a daughter, who is easy, and she'll run in every direction you will point her towards. This is why we came back to Korea''.

BAM!

And when, pray, was the last time IW had any contact with HR before he left for US? That's correct, it was Muffin Love!!

So when little HR had approached this snooty jr. version of IR with a kindhearted gesture, he'd been thinking ''oh, doesn't she seem so 'simple'? I'll make good use of her in future''. Kids, I tell ya!

OK, to IW's credit, we see his views are changing and goes off into a tirade of ... ''No, no! That wasn't Hye-ri... No!'' (Ofc. it was, he;s just mortified with himself. Still hate ya tho!)

I think a lot of girls are seeing hints of CH's Jo Gook in IW, so they're kind of expecting him to somehow still wind up with her and making terrible excuses for it... Like... ''oh.. he didn't call her easy!?
He said she's too ea... ea.. no.. cent...
Yes, that's right, innocent!''

O...K...! Believe what you wish. Hahaha!

I think with SJ, my friend was saying she found him 'awkward', and then elaborated...
The only other character I've seen Han Jung Soo play is Gen. Choi in Chuno and his role was very similar to what it is in PP. He also has the same intimidating air about him in both PP and Chuno, so it could be the actor? I can understand how to some, these kind of airs can translate as ... awkward..
I don't think there's anything wrong with the intimidating air, he comes across authoritative, but a good man, albeit extremely violent and has two ladies fighting for his affections in both dramas. I love how he's aware of both ladies being interested but he's too damn shy, which is hella adorable.
But hey, each to their own.

(Oh! How perfect this General Choi-Sun-hwa OTP is!)

I need to thank you (you know who you are) for gifting me with the most delicious handmade fudge today, which my babies promptly ate the ENTIRE bag while I accidentally napped. Seriously, I thank the lord my good sense told me to only take HALF the proffered amount, otherwise some little round tummies are getting a tummyache tonight. Thank you again, it was delicious to the extreme. They are mondo curious who made such manna from the Gods. 12yr old ready to get some noona cougar loving soon from my boy?

Yamapi or Edward - both are just about the blandest "idols" ever, and yet are described to have irresisitable allure. Hence the analogy. But I find Edward a giant milquetoast,. and Jacob (pre-Breaking Dawn), a rather nice young man who I wished had never met whats-her-face. By the end of it all, to perdition is where I wished the entire Forks gang. Btw, if anyone loves snarky Twilight related goodness, check out Sevenses blog. I adore Sevenses, she's on hiatus with exams, but her achives are full of hilarity. Her recap of Iljimae ALONE made my entire year, no kidding. And made watching Iljimae a meta-experience.

@ serendipity

J-doramas (I'm gonna get killed for this) by and large have either WTF or rather unsatisfying endings. No wonder so many hit dramas end up with SPs afterwards, no one got what they came for the first time around. I've accepted it as fact, I'm okay with that. :-) I love dramas that get better with each episode, and so far Nobuta is going down that direction. Otomen did as well, until the last 2 episodes erased all goodwill I had built up. Total meltdown of an ending for me.

I've been chuckling over this news for a few days now, my twin may have read it. The Pangs brothers are gifted with a gigantic budget to make the first Asian 3D movie, tentatively called Wulin. Martial arts in 3D? Sure. But the Pang bros, who just finished butchering a sequel with Storm Warriors? Er, I'm already bemused. Best part of the story, they want top name Asian stars, including (its their list, not mine): Aaron Kwok, Jay Chou, Rain, Nicky Tse, and Takeshi Kaneshiro. Like, they want ALL of them, if possible. Ma brain exploded if these guys did a 3D wuxia movie. And if so, the only person who can direct them is, god help us, Tsui Hark. But its Tsui circa Swordsman. Can we resurrect him, please?

@ simplesim-moni

Nope, mine has Chinese subs only. I watch pretty much all my k-dramas with c-subs. And then I translate in my head to discuss with you guys. :-)

oh...whatcha gonna be wearing? your fancy heels?

by the way....me thinks PP gonna have a surprise kind of ending. something like John Travolta's Get Shorty or even Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. you know...something we weren't expecting. script spending mucho time on serious Yoon and strange IW....

Actually, that sounds like a cop out, yeah?

I still think Jin is gonna get Yoon. :-)

*Spoiler* I think @ Episode 8 or 9 they hint that Hye-ri's Dad's construction company used a fake front in order to build some Buildings with substandard materials and workmanship that's the reason they are taking him to court, but if that is the only reason why go to all the trouble to get HR involve? Him falling in love with HR was not in the original plan, so if they win the case they are set to make a lot of money, and if he forfeits the case they will loose all the money they have invested so far in this case, that is one of the reasons why I think Jenny got pissed of at In-Woo in the first place the other because we know Jenny is in love with In-woo. I do not know whether In-woos mom has any connection with Mr. Ma but Jenny's hint to the fact that if it was not for Mr.Ma he would have never meet HR. I find a flaw in this case because we know that In-woo and HR have a childhood connection, so if that is the case why make reference to Mr.Ma, was In-woos mom involve romantically involve with HR dad, and that's their childhood connection? Well that's just my speculation. I am afraid that the writers have spread out a bit to thin and if this is only 16 episodes I feel that there will be a lot of loose ends that will not be properly resolve when the end finally comes, In-woos IMHO is basically flawed from the very beginning that in real life will be almost impossible to be redeem at the end..
HR/SJ FTW 100%!!!!

@ v
Who me? I'm just having some fun! ;)

@Amg1& V
Yes, that woman with the creepy smile was Jeni (or Jenny?).
(Side note: I love Jeni, she's kinda non-threatening. She's to IW what Alfred is to Bruce Wayne. Them two should marry each other already, y'hear?!)

Y'know, the cool thing is - as much as IW was a complete mystery for us, HR was too. We're been learning about these two characters, slowly.
(Heck, is Se-joon the only honest, sane one? Wow! I love him eeeven more now!)

Also, remember how HR handled the Ji Min case and her relationship with that girl? I think that was the time I not only began to love HR, but realised I f***king love her! The writers handled that part very well. That little girl had lost her innocence, she's 6 for goodness sake! But what did HR do? Reignite the innocence and whimsicalness in that little girl. Obviously not able to remove the trauma entirely, but definitely started the process with some real, significant results. Did you hear/see JM laugh? I was seriously moved to tears at how delicate and heartfelt those scenes were.
Similarly Yoon Bin who is also 6 (7 in Korean) is in the same boat - she's lost that innocence, although her trauma is of a complete different kind. It just unnerves me as to how depressed she looks.

@94 Amg1

I believe might have been in ep 9.....where the suspect is finally confessing to Ma and notes that she has the same last name? I kinda thought a few episodes before that her father was gonna be implicated for something dirty....

But like I mentioned to supah....there's a lot of smoke in this drama and it almost feels like Yoon and IW are going for the same people to get to the main cheese.

It's interesting but you know....life has so much of that I don't need to get all tangled up in a drama. Give me something that I don't have to think about or analyze! That's why I stayed away from Cinderella Sister. I was getting a headache.

Reading the dialogue here at OT provides entertainment that's PRICELESS!

Buenos noches mi amigo!

@ockoala: "Shiny, handsome yet wooden" Most accurate four word description of Yamapi ever.

I'm not going to open the pandora patzzi box. I'm not going to open the pandora patzzi box. No wait, I am. I've created the answer to all your patzzi needs, and it's in a profitable form: http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii184/mintrainphotobucket/youneedthismug.jpg

See sometimes you get up in the morning and you're like "Self? Which boyfriend do I want to hang with today?" That's where the patzzi mug comes in. No matter what side you're holding it's the right one. See it works for right handed and left handed beverage drinkers. Now the only choice you have to make is whether to fill it with coffee or tea.

@Perfectly Picked Prosecutor Princess Pairings: We're pairing Jeni with delicious American breakfast foods, right? She doesn't have much going for her lately aside from boarding the haterade train to jealous valley.

@janna
oh... noooo! Jeni is my love! She's going to seduce (sedate with drugs) IW and drag him back on the first flight to US with her.
Hence she'll be leaving HR free to go to SJ, and little Bin. Bin is too young to grow up already damn you!! She needs a mother like HR.
- JS wasn't exactly stimulating company, she's cool but a complete wallflower. She's thus deemed unsuitable for the Yoon household. But hey she makes a great pair with the office bitch Min Suk. Min Suk's quite hot (played by Yoo Gun), he gets along very well with JS, the cute and savvy office pet.

@eiko. That is also one of may favorite songs by Boccelli, I like opera a lot Pavarotti, Carrera, Domingo, and lately I like a Peruvian tenor name Juan Diego Florez. Boccelli is the one that has been the most successful Crossover from Opera/pop the other tenors have recorded pop music but not as good as him.
I am glad you like it!! : O }

@ 85 serendipity: you are right, of course, the nitpicking about logic only hurts my enjoyment of the entertainment... but it's particularly frustrating in a drama that has a lot going for it and could be great but for these little lapses. sigh. OK, he lets a moment pass, we all do that, but why couldn't his reaction to it have been, "Why didn't I just tell her? She'll be angry, but if she loves me enough to marry me when I'm gay, surely she'll be able to get over finding out I'm not. Why am I being such a coward? And if she does hate me, I deserve it".

Then I could have loved him deeply and unreservedly.
