Happy Friday to all!!
Smile and be Good to one another, I am dealing with a difficult relationship, I hate when things turn in to a weird shade of Codependency, I do not want to be my lover's therapist nor her Father figure let alone her enabler! It just not right for me or for her, I can only change myself, I do not have the power to change someone else, the hard part is that we been down this road before, I just don't have the energy to deal with her at the moment!!! : O {
Peace to all !!! : O }

Golden Week begins! The whole country is off until next Friday - which means stay home if you don't want to deal with incredible numbers of people all trying to get somewhere! (50 kilometer traffic jams, anyone? Or 40-minute waits to use the bathroom in the train station? And yes, I've experienced both...) Luckily staying works for me. Plan to putz in my garden, explore my new neighborhood and catch up on my Kdrama watching. Currently enjoying Harvest Villa. My goodness, can't get enough of this! Great writing/directing/acting and somehow it manages to be incredibly suspenseful and hilarious at the same time! Anyone else enjoying this? (Got to thank Dahee Fanel for the recommendation to watch it. You were right, Dahee, and then some!)

Hello everyone! What a great Friday it is! I just had my MIS final and our MBA class is counting down the days until we're done!! 2 more full classes left and 2 classes of another class in July and we're done! Graduation is in two weeks only because they don't want to bother with a separate ceremony for us.

In K-drama land, I watched ep #10 last night. Wow!!! Just wow.. No spoilers from ep 9, but the ending of ep 10 was just sooooooooooooo powerful and really showed the depth of Moon Geun Young's acting skills!! *tears*

Hi all, happy Friday... I was up far too late last night trying to finish a project and I'm a little shell-shocked today. But it's sunny outside, finally, so I must go out there and get some vitamin D.

@ lb_tmi: you are brave! I can't bring myself to do it, even though my eyes are so bad. Are you near or far-sighted? I am very very near-sighted. I dream of waking up and not having to reach for my glasses... but I think I would find it weird and disconcerting to suddenly be able to see the ceiling of my bedroom. There's a certain comfort in soft blurry edges to the world. Well, fingers will be crossed for your successful surgery next week!

Happy Friday!

Just came back home after watching Iron Man 2. I don't know the reason but I think I like Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes more than as Tony Stark.
It was good, IM2, but I like the first one better.

I'm tired and I don't like the idea that I have to go to the office on Saturday. But my boss just called and sweet talked to me " you'll come and monitor the workers tomorrow right?" heh.

But! I don't want to ruin the good mood tonight, and probably I will delay my plan to continue watching CS ep 8 because I'm not ready to weep. I'm such a cry baby!

Happy friday to everybody! Just wanted to say I had a wonderfully week on a professional level and I feel so relieved because I've been working so hard to make it, it's really nice to see your efforts being awarded^^ I'd like to ask a question to my fellow drama-addict, even though it has nothing to do with drama : what are you reading these days and are you enjoying it? I'll start with me: I'm reading a Robbin Hobb's book "The Golden Fool" and I have to admit it's one of nicest book I've read in years: wonderful characterization, intricate plot, twists and turns,amazing style...I'm basically having the time of my life reading it. What about you?

SLTSMTW! (so little time, so much to watch)

Cinderella’s Unni (ep 9) — Wowz. Picking up the plot with ep 9, are we. My interest is perking up again.

Personal Taste (ep 8 ) -- Not ground-breaking, but I like the lead actors, their interactions are getting more and more adorable and the romantic tension is upping gratifyingly. (and yes, I'm looking forward to ep 10...)

Prosecutor Princess (ep 3) -- OK, it's touch-and-go with the legal travesties. Some I can live with, others are making me want to crawl up the wall and run around the room screaming "non sequitur!" Still, the show has a certain mindless charm. I'm on the borderline as to whether In Woo is creepy, but one thing I do know:-- I'm terrified by his dress-sense! Really, the two leads should get the maximum sentence for Sartorial Misdemeanor.

@ 20 mumuchan

Reading? Who has time to read when there is so much K-drama to watch? :-)

But if you must know, Amin Maalouf's The Garden of Light (Maalouf is a brilliant writer - vivid, and yet not showy) and Peter Sheehan's Generation Y (quite an interesting and zippy read, as you'd expect from a Gen Yer)

Not much to say today except the usual: I'm still CU's b**ch and preeeetty sure I will be till the end. We're at the halfway point now :) Another month of this awesome torture and then maybe my life will go back to normal after haha

@ twin

Lasik in a week! Awesome!! I'm so excited for you... :o)

@ reluctantbutaddicted

i feel you on the 'soft blurry edges to the world'.. there is comfort in not giving into the morning until you want/have to when you put on the glasses hehe

@ djes

IM2 is out?? i thought it came out next Friday!! I'm planning on watching it still - RDJ is just such a funny guy! But it's true - sequels are never as good as the original.

Today is the last day for class for me. I have one more presentation to go and bam! Done! I will be off to partying with the cool people :)

Anyways, I watched ep 9 of CS yesterday. My heart actually ache. I began ep.10 and lets say that Taecyeon is doing sooo much better than I expected him to. I thought he would only be eye candy, but oh boy, with some more polishing he can become quite the actor. The way he looks at MGY makes my heart melt. The adorable, unwavering, and innocent devotion is seen through his eyes. Though they don't have the poignant look I think Ki hoon oppa acquires, it is the rawness of his childlike helplessness that really kills me.

I know its a great sweeping general opinion, but MGY is just so good. She makes me want to hold her and tell her that everything is going to be alright. But honestly, If I met Eun jo in real life, I would probably dislike her. I think Hyo Sun was right when she said that Eun jo character was weak. She puts on a strong facade, but in reality, she is more sensitive to the people around her, and even more self conscious than Hyo Sun about what people think. Strong in character, weak at heart.

Despite popular opinion, I see myself liking hyo sun. I like her and hate her ( same can be said about Kangsook, Eun Jo, and Ki hoon). In the beginning I was afraid that she would not be a suitable opponent for Eun Jo. But she is really shaping up to be the competitor. And I think the turn of events this week will really bring her some emotional growth. It gives her character room to develop in different directions that otherwise would have been a singular path. The end of ep.9 really is the crossroads of these character's life, in which one defining emotional moment changes their motives and open new paths. They ahve to decide where to go next now that the foundation they were walking on is shaken and destroy.

On the upbeat note, I also watched PT yesterday. I just have to say that ep.9 of PT have some of the darnest cutest moment. From Kae-in's conversation with Do-bin about unrequited love to Do-bin's confession to Jin-ho about boredom, to Kae-in and Jin-ho's estranged date. Everything is just adorable. But it is also in these adorable moments that emotional sincerity is leaked through. We see Kae-in's desire to see Jin-ho happy despite of her growing feelings for him, we see do-bin's genuine happiness in his bravery, and Jin-ho's internal conflict between hurting the people he cared for, being honest, and his frustrations on his own growing feelings.

2010 has been such a great year for K-dramas. I find myself actually engaging and emotionally investing in these characters like I have never before. But I really do need to watch something happy after seeing CS. the lord knows that it was DEPRESSING.

Well, I am just reeling after watching ep 10 of Personal Taste. I guess my latent drama urge has really kicked in and i find my self even writing some odd stories in and around my free time. Does any one write like that I wonder?? I mean the urge to spin your own yarn !!!! i sure hope its normal.

@21 Sunny,

Yes, I love Dong Yi. I think Han Hyo Joo is doing a credible job and I love Ji Jin Hee. It's the first time I have ever seen a king with a sense of humour and fun rather than being sombre and stern looking all the time. I don't know how accurate this is portrayal is to the real king, as I heard he was actually quite serious.

(Spoiler OML and PT)

Did anyone else notice the drama parallels in OML and PT. Drunken first kisses at the same time a few weeks ago. I wrote that off to it happens a lot in Kdrama. However, the forced "confessions" this week are just a bit too coincidental. Not like both things haven't been done before. I just thought it was rather odd for it to be happening like this at the same time. Any other dramas that are doing this same stuff right now?

Yeah and the end of PT 10 was girlie squeal all over.

i can't see past the palm of my hand in my face. lol. i'm so superficial. i just want to wear sunglasses!!! there are so many pretty and cool looking sunglasses, and i just want to be able to wear them!! and i want to be able to eat DOA chicken wings and not have to sleep w/ my contacts in because i can't touch my eyes. it's so silly these small things, but they mean so much to me!!

my sister can't have lasik done because her cornea is too thin.. and twin, well, you know why you can't have it either.. so i'm doing it for all of us. (you too, reluctantbutaddicted!)

i watched CU ep10 this morning.. and i am still shipping KH.. but dang, jumping ship to JW just seems better and better. seriously, how adorable is JW?!?! i think Taec is doing a splendid job!!

@ serendipity: "Sartorial Misdemeanor." Ha! But if you start going down that road, the drama courts will be backed up for decades!!!

Personal Taste -- who was it commented earlier on those sad canvas shoes Lee Min Ho persists in wearing? Did he get a good price on a job lot? He looks fab, most of the time, well, all of the time, from the ankles up. But what is the wardrobe director thinking in the footwear dept? Jin Ho likes to look professional but yet be ready to frolic on the beach at a moment's notice?

@lovenyc52 -- soft worlds are indeed comforting. But do you have the same experience that you can't hold a conversation unless you have your glasses on? If there's light, I need to be able to see to talk. It's always seemed perfectly reasonable to me, but others have mocked.

Reading: The Eye of Jade, a detective story set in Beijing.

I miss the days where this blog would choose one drama and follow it week for week with recaps. It was the most distinguishing feature of this blog that separated it from other news sights. Now it has become another news sight with recaps here and there with no consistency or timliness. I guess soompi is really the only place to go to have that experience nowadays. ~sigh~ All good things must come to an end.

@ #2 AMG1

Part of life's journey is having to travel the same path with others....we learn early on that we are only responsible for who we are and what we do. We certainly learn that we can't change anyone. When it comes to matters of the heart.....the journey is even more difficult. But.....we get up and move on and know that tomorrow is another day.....

One thing for sure....you are NOT alone on your journey! Keep smiling and always know that what you do for yourself is what matters because when you are happy within yourself....others feel it also.

Lessons in life abound from the inside outward!

Sending light your way!

Well, I can't help but feel upset reading your comment. Dramabeans is one hell of a good website and I am so grateful to everyone, and especially javabeans, who contributed their time to this blog and write recaps and make updates for us. A whole lot of us enjoy reading recaps because they give us some additional perspective and might lead to a deeper understanding or just simply allows us to go through the episodes once more and enjoy them. Plus, people have lives to live.
Not that I don't like soompi. It's a good website and if you find it suitable for your demands, that's all good. I just wish you could be more respectful of the efforts put in by the contributers to this blog.
I know it's just your opinion but it's still not very nice nor encouraging and it does not affect anyone in a good way.
all good things must come to an end, but it still hasn't come for Dramabeans.com, which still rocks our world!

@32

i agree w/ JB.

regarding soompi (and it's not bashing, just stating what i've experienced)
there is not ONE person that writes ALL the recaps. it's a bunch of ppl who have a shared interest that post recaps, screencaps, discussions, and whatnot to the forum. none of them are expected to recap--they do it out of enjoyment and interest. why is it acceptable over there (by no more drama) but not here? and here, it is ONE person who maintains the site.. even if she has guest recappers, they should not be expected to work on YOUR time. even if you say that's not what you're saying, it was clearly implied in your post. and yes, it was rude. don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

what a way to suck out the niceness of the day.

I was happy to find this site. It not only gives me a voice for the dramas I like or don't. It introduces me to dramas I may have foolishly avoided due to subject matter or cast choices. If anything they can easily expand.

@ Javabeans

Please give me more of your witty summations of dramas! I have found all of them truly entertaining. If you need any help let me know!

First off, how much did I love the last two episodes of Cinderella's Sister?

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, the whole Eun-jo and Hyo-sun dynamic is breaking my heart in to a million tiny pieces. Until episode 10, I wasn't 100% sure that Eun-jo really did love Hyo-sun but now I am convinced. When Hyo-sun told EJ that she was scared and lonely....OMG....MGY is doing an amazing, amazing job (so is Seo Woo). You could see so clearly how much EJ wanted to comfort HS but she just couldn't do it and instead showed how much she cares in a very EJ way. That's when I was convinced of how much EJ loves HS. For her to yell at her to grow up and to stop relying on others, telling her how to survive in this new reality is so huge. If she didn't care, she'd let HS hang herself.

I really do think that HS and Ki-hoon are going to marry or almost marry. If I remember correctly, the description for the show said something along the lines of "this Cinderella will get her revenge". I think Kang-sook is going to kick HS out and she and KH will team up to get the company back. Or maybe that is just wishful thinking because I would love to see EJ have to choose between her mother (whom she both hates and loves) and Dae-sung Farms (which has been the only place she's ever known love in the traditional sense).

I'm pretty new to kdramas, but this is hands down the best one I've seen so far.

I did LASIK a year ago, I'm legally blind before that. It was totally painless and a 15 min thing, not unlike an eye exam where u stare at lights, it'll then turn very blurry...and a bit of pressure and air and 'boom' u r done.
But I did scare other patients in the holding rm... somehow my lens steamed up and they have to lead me to another rm for a short wait in the middle of surgery to clear up the 'fog'...and during that 10 step walk I'm literally blacked out, 2 nurses were holding my hands. I heard gasps.

I cried too much last couple days, a tiny bit is due to CU watching. but bulk was watching the news. It's been the 3rd consecutive days where sociopaths raged into schools butchering 10s of children in China It's making me beyond sick.

*HUG* JB, we love you! Get well soon!
