CJM can be anything, he's beyond categorization atm. he's ~my age but I can nvr be a college kid again...he has at least a few yrs in him to play every first boy crush in kdramaland. (me want) BUT he can easily flick to all late 20s early 30s HOTOPPA just by not flashing his WMD... more lethal yet he has this new ammunition of an all understanding caring no-agenda oppa smile sans the boyish cute, what is a girl to do?
my crushes know no bounds....but I'm fully aware of how much an eye girl I'm. ohnoes, i'm always at the extreme of TMI, cingdocunni, just put a wifey filter and keep hubby fr reading my posts. ;)

My husband...........does not look like CJM. :-(
Nor does he look like anyone in ICOMYM or ACOMHRM. Double :-(
Can I trade for him? On second thought, he's my babbies daddy, and the sweetest smartest dude I know, oh, and I think I love him......so I take that back, I'll keep him. And just oogle CJM some more. :-) nomnomnom, me want some more CJM pie with crusty delicious buttery parts.
@ mookietwin-ah, keep the good stuff coming, babe. Right now his smile probably collectively shines on all of us. We bathe in CJM-ness, and its so warm and soothing. Eun-jo will be purring like a cat soon, hehe.
Little J helped dress C after their baths in her PJs, it was super adorable cuz he kept saying "I can do this, I'm your big brother, and big brothers can do everything." He's got oppa written all over his genes. Definitely not a noona killer this one.

Speaking of inappropriate crushes. Is it possible to have a crush on an anime character? Do we have an acronym for that? I just finished watching Howl's Moving Castle. Talk about ansty, complicated and vain. He totally rocks the page boy haircut with the drop earrings.

If you like HowL's Moving Castle, then you would definitely like Whisper in the Hearts- my kid #1 saw that a couple of years ago, and totally became a young lady in love. To me, that movie/anime was very kdrama...

You know, my Hubs normally doesn't give a rat @ss abt what I do in front of my laptop. It was just at that moment that he entered the house I was cracking up, so of course he peered over me. Don't worry, you're safe w/me.

The only shopping he loves going w/ me is grocery and whenever I wander off just a little, he'll be chatted up by some, and he'll happily help them pick up the best melons and such, as if, that is really not nice, boys, esp ignoring my glares or my general presence.

Howl is the last Miyazaki’s film I've seen--I've now seen them all including Ponyo. I wouldn't mind entering Howls' world for a day or two and clean his musty old castle if he looks at me with his twinkly blue cartoon eyes and create a floating world of flowers just for me. If I can get a glimpse of his naked gooey butt all the better fan service for me but that boy needs to eat. Much too skinny and vain. It will be like the anime version of Purple Rose of Cairo except in reverse. Sophie and I will have to have a showdown a la CU for Howl's affections.
Right now hubby doesn't feel like a keeper but a loaner, meaning I'm willing to loan or give him away. He just scolded me for misplacing my car keys. Yes I did misplace them for the upteenth time and yes I did ask him to look for it but shouldn't he look for them without saying anything if he is my soulmate or whatever he suppose to be? I'll take the cartoon Howl over him right now. At least I can shut off Howl if he aggravates me.

You guys crack me up.LOL
Mookie it looks like I won't ever be able to complain about hubby anymore, to you anyway ,since you'll have rose tinted glasses because you'll only see CJM. Do you mean Micheal Chang the tennis player or is there another Micheal Chang I'm not aware of. I have a soft spot for Yo Yo Ma BTW. Anyone have a hubby that looks like him. I've always had a massive crush on him so if you do I might randomly drop in for a visit.
As you married ladies know when your married for a while it doesn't matter what your husband looks like. When they annoy you they just freaking annoy you.
Which leads me to a bit of story sharing. Every christmas when my side of the family gets together, my older sisters gripe about their husbands and fantasize about divorcing their them and living together in a sister commune with all their kids. I'm the youngest and they have been trying to recruit me to the dark side since I got married. The thought is appealing only for a micro second to me since living with a house full of women will drive me crazy and there is no OPW to use on them either. Have you ever worked with a bunch of crazy women all on their period? We would all be on the same cycle and some of my sisters--bless their heart--can be major b*tches when they get hormonal. I wonder what all my brother-in-laws would think if they knew what their wives were talking about every year.

@nycgrl Soulmate
I LOVE Howl's Moving Caste. Love love love. I can't tell you how many times I've watched it. I watched it twice in the cinemas when it first came out, and I am wearing out my DVD, last watched a mere few weeks' ago, as the ultimate comfort watch.
It is a sure-win for me, my fantasy ideal confluence of Miyazaki whom I mostly love (one or two don't work so well, but mostly Miyazaki is love), Diana Wynne Jones whom I love with a passion unrivalled (I recently met a young lady whose life's ambition was to write a best-selling fantasy novel and when she admitted she had never heard of Diana Wynne Jones I pretty much wrote her off), and Kimura Takuya, whom I first fell in love with as the voice of Howl.
I loved Howl's Moving Castle the book - one of my favourite Diana Wynne Joneses. And I love Miyazaki's interpretation of the book (very different, but entirely in keeping with spirit, imo). No live-action film has ever been made of a Diana Wynne Jones book, and I think there is a good reason - her imagination is so fertile it's hard to realise in live-action, and her books are thoughtful, subtle, surprising, non-linear and about people's internal worlds, hence difficult to translate to film (unlike Harry Potter).
I love Sophie and her spirit. I love Howl. I don't care that I don't REALLY understand what is going on in the movie (and to some extent, I suspect the cause-and-effect and exactly-why-and-how of it all is not relevant). I love how there are no clear villains or good guys. I love how both Sophie and Howl grow. I love how Howl is both gorgeous and flawed (more former than the latter, it has to be admitted, but who's complaining).

The secret to a good stir fry- gas range and many pots. Cook the meats(whether beef or chicken) separately and a tad UNDERCOOKED.Then cook the veggies( I love snap/sugar peas since it cooks nicely (stays crunchy) (make sure to add a pinch of white sugar while cooking veggies so that it keep the "fresh greenness". Again, under cook the veg, too. In the third pot, heat it up then quickly mix/stir fry the 2 ingredients together for a few rounds (just enough to mix them well...usually no more than 3-5min....(NOTE: If your ingredient is pork, you might want to cook this well now ,before adding the veggies in) ....Voila ,a good stir fry,NOT soggy ...enjoy ;)

This is my last post tonight I swear. I have a 8:30 meeting that I have to drive to. Hence looking for car keys tonight.
Had 3-4 other other roommates in college depending on who left the house. Had the drama about who cleans where/when especially the bathroom. I created the cleaning schedule since I'm a bathroom and kitchen neat/clean freak. We hung the schedule in the kitchen all color coded so you didn't even need to be literate. Oh and to make the drama especially spicy we had a roommate who was a boyfriend stealer as well as clothes and money stealer. She pretty much stole everything unless you bolted it down. She had family/love/esteem issues.
EDIT: My most inappropriate cartoon crush is actually not Howl (Howl is beautiful so there is nothing to be embarassed of) but Mr Burns from Simpsons. There I said it. I just love that man. He can do no wrong in my eyes.

Size of pots matters? Do I have to use different one for each ingredients? Should they be woks? And since I'm vegetarian, I'll be adding Tofu products instead of meat, Do I still have to separate them? And my stove tops are standard sears one. Not exactly super high heat... I used to have Thermador when I was living in a big house... Now, it's a small house with a cute(meaning tiny) kitchen. Thanks for your expertise, I appreciate it very much.

Personally, I prefer gas stove (vs electrical). Something abt e- that I don't like...losing the "strength" of the cooking. My stoves are not some fancy brand; I just love gas stove. In Grad school, our apt only have e stove; solution: buy one of those shabu shabu (butane) stove.
Yeah...I'm more a vegetarian than meat eater. The general rule is that: cook the harder(texture) ingredient first( for example carrots),BUT that doesn't mean you should cook this into a soggy mess. I enjoy eating-I like to have a fun experience while I'm ingesting my meal. If it's one soggy mess, what fun is that ??
As I mentioned earlier, just slightly undercook the veggies (that's my liking- still crunchy, but NOT raw tasting, mind you). Tofu, if it's the medium texture,it should be the last thing to add in. Tofu cannot take too many "stirring" before it becomes something unrecognizable. Do you like eggplants ( my ultimate fav)? This needs a little longer cooking time, but tricky...cook too little,it tastes funny (to the tongue),too much-instant goo(still yummy, though)
The size of the pot only matters to the final pot- it needs to be big enough to accommodate the final product...
I'm actually not the best cook ( esp compare to my Mom); I learned by observing her over the years. I also like the happiness that I can give to my hard working Hubby when he comes home to a nice meal. Don't be afraid...there's no right or wrong way...experiment...observe family members/friends who cooks . I find that the better cooks will be more than happy to share with others their ways of cooking. I forgot how I got this, but I love her and actually learned to make a few Korean dishes http://www.maangchi.com/

@ nycgrl
I was thinking you were up late!
I think Howl is a perfectly appropriately crush. In fact, if you don't crush on him there's something wrong with your female sensibilities. Now, crushing on pre-pubescent Haku in Spirited Away is another thing, though I think I could just about roll with that too.
Sadly, I don't think I'm switching teams any time soon. If I were inclined to, I would have long ago; at university I had so many lesbian friends and knew so many useless men I started believing that there was something WRONG with me for preferring men. I mean, women are just so much BETTER at relational stuff, and all sorts of things. It just doesn't make any sense to me...
I just never got started on Buffy, no particular reason, so couldn't say, though my best friends love it so I'm guessing I would too. I liked Im Soo Jung in I'm a Cyborg, but then I liked Rain in that too and I can't stand Rain in anything else. I girlcrush Kim Hyun Joo, though, does that count? I endured "Partner" just for her (and a bit for Lee Dong Wook). I do want to watch "I'm Sorry I Love You" - still figuring out best way of going about it, DVDs sadly out of production...
There's the National Gallery near-miss and there's the Mawang accord, but I think it's Thank You and Howl that seal it. Mwah!! Mwah!!
My husband is not "cute" - we part ways here. He's more "distinguished gentleman". I'm hard pressed to think of a drama-land equivalent, and the closest I can come up with is Abe Hiroshi. I married him more for his brains than for his looks, anyways...

@serendipity, Abe Hiroshi is uber cute. Kekkon Dekinai Otoko is still my fav dorama last couple years. I'll be looking forward to Shinzanmono as well, Miura Tomokazu is another inappropriate crush of mine, I was absolutely crazy about him and Momoe when I was young.
it would be fun if we have OT vin diagrams :)
I checked out 1 ep of Fumo Chitai. Epically good. Karasawa Toshiaki is better and more nuanced than I've ever seen him, but I did cringe on the subject matter at first, it will be hard to be completely compassionate w/ the sufferings of the J military on my part and honestly I cant feel for their despair when they have to declare defeat.

My fave Mr. Burns episode (one of the best eps in general) was the one where he goes all Cruella de Vil on us and wants a puppy coat, and the kids go save the puppies sired by Santa's Little Helper and Mr. Burns sings about his collection of exotic attire. And he ends up making a ton of money on the puppies later by racing them. The Simpson's brilliance at its peak.
@ nycgrl, serendipity
Howl appeals to the young woman at the cusp of adulthood in me, all strength mixed with apprehension of the unknown (be it men, magic, mystery, et. al). It's so like Miyazaki to follow up Howl with Ponyo on the Cliff, which regresses the Hans Christian Anderson tale of The Little Mermaid into kindergarteners and make its work.
I've believe that everyone has a Miyazaki movie that calls to you, not whether the movie is the "best" of his ouevre, but a movie that sings to your soul and touches you in a very intimate way because of who you are personally.
You long for adventure, Laputa: Castle in the Sky; you want to save the earth, Princess Mononoke; you want to reminisce about childhood innocence, Toroto; you want to imagine being a kid and having a job, Kiki's Delivery Service (I kid!), and so on.
My Miyazaki moment came in Spirited Away. That movie I watch with a lump in my chest, not a sob or a giggle, but more a feeling of fullness, like this movie is magic and fills me up with imagination, wonder and a feeling of nostalgia.
I love Haru, but then again I loved every single character and frame of Spirited Away. Spirited Away is about growing up and understanding that the child in all of us allows us to retain our innocence even when we can't be just a kid anymore. And watching Spirited Away always makes me want to book the nearest flight to Sapporo and jump into a bathhouse.

"Do you all still remember which drama and/or posting from JB lured you out of lurkdom and into the light? "....I didn't, so I decided to find out....after 30min, I found it...OT #95.
I think I just finished watching Coffee Prince(the 1000th time!!) and decided to reread JB's recaps. I was wondering out loud "what's a Open thread?" I started to read all the posts, and found my new "home/family/kindred spirits'(You mean that's people out there who love kdrama as much as I do!)
And who's this "Samsooki" person who analyze the drama? You mean you don't just watch the drama; you mean we have to think about the meaning about it? Wow, that was such good recaps...After that, I've never watch drama the same way, hehe.
I finally "come out" of lurking mode when I decided to "encourage" a young lady who was stressed about exam (gotanexamlater). She reminded me of a very young me. I was lucky that yucky stressed out feeling was finally relieved when I met my Hubby who encouraged me to do my best and learn,NOT just to be a tests taker...So, that's my "story"....

I delurked because I was madfangirling Belleza:
'So, she’ll be doing the sequel, where she and Will Smith try to battle zombies, since she having retired from being a rock star a long time ago and her ex-husband became a zombie and like there is nobody who roams in Seoul because everybody is in fact a zombie netizen that wants to hunt down Sun Ah the Zombie Rock Star Slayer and Will Smith who ended up in Bell Air, because the netizens are zombies and so crazy and shouldn’t this drama be called Rock Star or Rock and Roll High School or something, but wouldn’t it be totally awesome if Sun Ah played Bella and had to choose between a vampire Binnie (who was in fact 120 years old but looks 22 because he was frozen by the Snow Queen BORA MUST DIE!!!) and a werewolf Cha Seung Won, but no when I think about it, it would be totally awesome if Cha Seung Won and Sun Ah were in a show running away in an abandoned city hall from zombie netizens.
It would be so awesome if this show became You Are Beautiful Noona. Presumably, they will cast her against a younger, rock-star dude (a la Woman Who Wants to Get Married.) This has Gong Yoo written all over it. It’s the perfect comeback vehicle for him, and their chemistry is certified.'

Did someone say... Howl? Ohmygeez, I melt!
Loved the book, Loved the anime even more, Howl was even better than I'd imagined him whilst reading the book.
I've watched quite a few Miyazakis, recently watched Whisper of the Heart. Wasn't his best work but still cool.
This is a fun read for any of you who've seen Chuno and are now following either PT or PP:

I finally stopped lurking during the You're Beautiful season (I'm relatively a n00b), I think I first posted on one of the recaps. After that , the earlier days of WISFC just went on and substantiated my unhealthy affixiation with this blog. Guess I really liked that show. No one else in my immediate life was to ever understand that i was inwardly possessed by Cha Kang-jin's soulful eyes, see, the community here so understands these things.
How about you?

Hey gal....I'll take our General Choi any day over that guy in PP!!! I don't see anything sexy or eye candy about that guy! Or am I being picky?
And Cha Kang-jin's soulful eyes? hehehehe.....that is the sexiest feature on his face....then the lips.... :-)
Did ya start on OML? CSW is just out of sight and so darn cute!!! For some reason he and Cha Rim really are cute and maybe it's because CSW knows how to use his eyes and facial expression to grab at ya! or at me!
My neighbor is so cute....she called me this morning to ask WHEN is Kang-ha going to kiss Pal-gang!!!! It was episode 18 last night....I told her to hang in there for next week's final 2 episodes.

@82 cingdoc
I remember....it was You're Beautiful.
That made me delurk here and at soompi, AND start subbing at Viikii.
Quickly looking back, it appears that I delurked to ask Nom_Kitteh about live watching of YB in OT 107 - unless I had posted in an article comment before that. I would have thought it was earlier than that, because I'd been lurking for over a year before that. I know I got the CP and Soulmate song listings from JB's lists.
I read and enjoyed the heck out of the BOF phenom. But darned if if wasn't that little YB that sent me into full delurked fandom around kdrama-land.
Having done a few laps around the internet, I have a fairly decent ability to not post (heck, I read slashdot every morning, have for at least 10 years, and STILL post as an anonymous coward - those people sharpen their knives at breakfast every morning) .
But then I started talking QSD with Belleza and MNiSS with Samsooki and BOF with ya'll and well....that was that.. I found my peeps!

@ supah
I delurked in OT 90. :-)
http://www.dramabeans.com/2009/07/open-thread-90/
I was nervous, wrote what reads now like I have ADD or maybe on some OTT meds. The catalyst? City Hall.
@ epyc and langdon813's love for CH, plus samsooki's clinching capsule review a few OTs before, got me really curious, so I started watching the week when CH had aired 18 eps. I marathoned that mother like you wouldn't believe, zero sleep and lots of wide-eyed heartthumping OMOMOMO type reactions.
I probably wouldn't have even delurked to post (I loved BOF when it aired but never posted) if episode 20 of City Hall wasn't hands down the best ending to a drama I had ever seen (best=made me happiest person on earth).
I just had to squeee somewhere, and OT was just the place. I watch ep. 20 raw, which is telling of the thrall it held me under.
And then dribs and drabs of other stuff came tumbling out, as OT is wont to do to a drama lover.
@ lovenyc52
I know exactly what you mean. OT gets me through happy days, sad days, stressful days, and generally the mundane in and outs of every single day.
Btw, if I had to take a poll, I'd say folks are generally lured out when there is a phenomenon. I'm sure HGD spurrned some delurkers, and prob. BOF tied with YB for the most delurkers as a result of JB's recaps, and then followed by perhaps CH (my gut is that CH is still rather a niche phenomenon, loved by the majority of OT regulars, which feels disproportionately high, but generally still rather under the radar).
If it wasn't CH, I prob. would have delurked next for Tamra. But then I would have never started Tamra but for the bleeting of happiness coming from TEAM PARK KYU! Ah yes, I remember a certain ALL CAPS or multi-exclamation point post from langdon-unni involving a certain K*** spoiler, and I knew I had to join to fray, and not an ounce of regret in me.

I was in some serious funk this am...but Tamra over lunchie! AHHH instant lurve!!!!!
it's hitting all my soft spots, my me likeys in what I find hilarious it's working for me. That was some treasure trove of super cute, ingenious and brilliant toilet humor! I'm surprised how at ease everyone is acting out such a whimsical fairytale x kdrama.
I was planning to fly to DC tonite for my anni tmr but instead will be spending it over work last min. I quite hate my life right now.

I'm so glad you found something to cheer you up! Missing your planned anniversary celebration is already disheartening (I love DC in April - cherry blossom shower, AHHH!), but to do so bc of your work is doubly sucky. My condolences.
I think I mentioned I am the super non-romantic in my relationship, I forget birthdays, anniversaries, never buy presents, flowers, just nomnomnom off everyone's love all day long. I is terrible and bad wife, I know I know. I think I do one super romantic thing once a year and then call it a night for the rest of the 364 days.
Tamra is LOVE! Love I say, wait until the story takes off, you won't be able to stop the marathoning. OMOMOMO, you will be fangirling CMJ AND Park Kyu Im Joo-hwan at the same time?!?! CU + Tamra? Oh geez that is way too much heart pumping attractiveness to balance on both hands. Best of luck to you!

I, too, have just finishing watching CU ep.05 raw.... I so wish I'm fluent in Korean... It's excruciating not knowing what they are saying... With this drama, imagining isn't enough... Aaaarrrggghhhhh!
Happy to hear you have started o Fumou chitai. And all I can say here is that I hope we learn from the past and will never repeat the outrageous autocracy
committed by J government or militant leaders back then... So much sufferings, even generational sufferings, injustices have been carried on(especially J gov. being freaking slow in admitting their wrong doing for @#$% many years, theuy finally did , not that long time ago with meager compensations to some., Sort of like how J. American was treated and eventually compensated over here and so on)... It's time to bring the end to all that, all over the world. Whatever I can do as an individual to make a little difference on this earth, I'm up to it and have been conscientious about it.
Anyhow. I thought it was Thursday today. Wed. yesterday. No wonder I could locate no CU's raw episode yesterday. Duhhh. I'd better get on with the program and start working... I'm actually curious to check when I stated to participate on this wonderful OT, myself. I'd better save it for another day.
So, heartfelt thank you for all of my OT families. it's a great place for a break away from whatever else is going in my micro world. And just bounce around, giggling fangirling.

Park Kyu is GORGEOUS, IJW should stay in this outfit forever. I've seen him in most of his prior works but he's too scrawny for my taste and I find his acting bland (eg SQ), but here... I see a bit of Joe Chang in ISWAK. <333 wow what a transformation boy!
@ celestialorigin
CU5, of coz I'll rewatch it w/ subs, but these 2, they have the best eye convo EVER. That simmering escalation of emotions, angst, WOW. They manage to make Kim Gab Soo looks like wallflower with no real words, just eye convo (of coz pertinent to scene, but still, that's major feat!) unbelievable!

Anyone interested out there.....drama episodes come out once or twice a week and then it seems like a long wait for another week. In between I've been checking and I've found a very good drama called DONG YI. Han Hyo Joo does a very good acting job as Dong Yi. Bae Soo Bin is also in this drama with Ji Jin Lee as the lead and the King. I didn't know if I would like this one but it's different and very enjoyable.
Han Hyo Joo was in Shining Inheritance and the love interest of Bae Soo Bin. I thought her acting in SI was okay....but she is excellent as DY. This is one saeguk drama I am enjoying. It's at episode 6.

Meantime, There will be 4 concerts by DBSK's Yuchun, JaeJung and Junsu in Japan in June(Thanks to allkpop's timely post)! Tickets are going to be sold by Lottery system starting April 15th, noon!!! Just finished taking to my sister. She's going to get lotto tickets for me using various family members names! May be at least one of them will hit the pot! I'd love to adopt Yuchun as my son #2.

Muhahaha! I had to go back and stalk out that comment. Not ADD, you sound great to me, and the rest of us drama-crazed hormonal female population I'm sure, haha! I marathoned CH like a mother too. Only after Samsooki raved about it in his end of year review. Prior to which I'd seriously thought it was some political she-mayor of snoozeville story. I've learned since that kdrama titles actually mean nothing. Nil, nada to do with the ACTUAL drama.
I could never have had imagined that at the heart of this drama was the sexiest love story, everrr! Episode 20 may not have been as awesome as earlier episodes but the ending was the best, the speed dial #5 part.
I was quite amused by this blog and a little bit anti - when I first came across it as the author seemed to discriminate against aaall the dramas I absolutely loved! (*cough* Bad Love, Cain and Abel *coughcough*) and I'm with you on the BBF fever. I'm glad I never left any death threats or scathing hate comments here, as in the interim I matured and came to fall in love with the blog instead. Lulzness!
@eiko
Omo! I owe you a quickie PP ep. 5 summary and it'll be comin' right atchya soon. This episode was the juice!
