@ all B&W-ters

Sigh, without Pi-zi, its like making Batman & Robin the movie and Batman isn't showing up. I told my sister and she was totally upset, too. I was listening to my B&W OST and leafing through the pictorial photobook my sister brought back from TW, and it was truly a great drama. Like @ langdon says, Next please. Time to move on. Last rant from me, you all remember what was the giant giant giant McGuffin that was left hanging at the end of the drama, right? How can you resolve that issue in the movie when the central character that pertains to ISN'T IN THE MOVIE!!! And Pi-zi ended the drama still under the mistaken assumption that someone is _____, but we all know not only someone is not ______, but someone is evil to boot. Oh Vic, you're hurting me, you know that. I don't blame you, I blame fate! Rails at fate now.

@ epyc

PS Man - 4 eps and I'm out. I however have downloaded the song, and can rewatch the opening title sequence n-times, man I love it. But the story - just a hodge-podge of silly cliches, poorly paced, not a single enjoyable or engaging character in the lead four. There have been a few inspired scenes here and there, but that does not one good drama make.

I agree with your assessment of Blue, I personally attribute it to his chin. Seriously, he's got a really big chin, and it's slightly distracting. And Sonia's character is like a mix of Qiao-en's character in FTLY and PTIF, but Sonia is no Qiao-en, and just doesn't convince as the frumpy, lacking in self-confidence yet also bratty lead.

Oh, and the short pants + shoes with no socks, yup guys, it's the latest trend in Asian trendy menswear in dramas. SIK has it in AMCG, Blue does it in PS Man, and from the stills, LMH going to rock it in Personal Choice.

And my sis is marathoning Down With Love, and I checked it out and the second Ella started making those faces, I stopped. My allergy to Ella is extreme, but I know she's going to call me and make me watch DWL. Sigh, I tried, really I did. Same reason why I can't watch Hana Kimi and The Rose. Ella is my kryptonite.

Lovenyc52 – re: perfect girl evolution – YES! Funny you mentioned it because I just found out about it and marathoned it over the weekend too! Man, it’s been so long since I’ve seen a jdrama and I’d forgotten how wonderfully cracktastic they are! The headbutt never got old and I lost count on how many times I was on the floor laughing from the wonderful ridiculousness of it all (the massive bromance in the pool *giggles*). And the HI-LARIOUS “MV” in the middle – LOL! Someone @ viikii mentioned how they wondered what the actors were thinking when they filmed it and I have to agree. I’d totally love a BTS clip (do doramas ever show BTS stuff?). I’ll be honest, I thought the main girl looked horrible in the beginning when she came out in that blindingly bright red kimono, but she definitely grew on me with her awesome emo voice and her cute little facial expressions in the background (it also helped that they gave her bangs – way to go stylist!). And of course, her and Kame’s chemistry together is adorable (the violence reminds me of Nodami Cantible…actually…of most doramas –lol-). Oh, and I want that little boy to do all jdrama voiceovers from now on. ^^

And now I’m on a mission to find more cracktastic jdrama to watch – any suggestions?

My ode to Han Chae-young.

Just wanted to let everyone know that (1) AMCG has settled down (yes, ep 1 is in fact a huge aberration, the rest of the eps are much more grounded but still slightly larger than life and comic-booky) and (2) HCY is the best I have seen her since DGCH (which I hated the drama but loved loved her and Jae Hee) and Only You (which I loved all around).

My first kdrama was Seodongyo (still one of my faves, highly underrated, not a true saguek but a love story first and foremost), which lead me to check our Jo Hyun-jae's other works, which lead to Only You and HCY, which lead to DGCH, which lead to Witch Amusement (which almost lead me to stop watching kdramas alltogether, tee hee, thank god I didn't!). Anyways, it's a giant 6 degrees of separation on how I picked dramas early on with no recommendation system.

So amongst the early actresses I watched, Lee Bo-young and HCY, I thought they were great, but later realized both were rather mediocre actresses. LBY I still think so no matter what type of role she takes, but HCY really is quite good in a role that downplays her gorgeousness and she's kinda your ordinary girl meets Prince Charming (i.e. OY and AMCG). Anyways, she's pretty much sold me on AMCG bc I love her performance so far, and she has a lovely understated chemistry with SIK. I'm in it for the love story. :-) Don't let me know, AMCG writers, make use of two gorgeous, tall, leads and gimme the kdrama goods, okay?

@96 of the second page lovenyc52

I watched the ending of Perfect Girl Evolution over the weekend. Personally I think Kame looks like a very young Kimutaku. But that's not a bad thing. Anyway, while I love me a j-drama, what with their moral of the story type episodes etc, the middle of that episode had me doing a bit of a "WTH? Couldn't you do that a little more smoothly?" kind of thing.

my friend says that kame in Perfect Girl Evolution reminds her of mameshiba in Meichan No Shitsuji... but the more i look at him, the more i think he looks like super skinny TOP. and i watched some fanvids that contain scenes of later eps and i see him with shorter hair and black rimmed glasses. hello Japanese Tabi.

No matter how long i stay up tonight, i must finish this show.... MUST. so addictive. i love cracktastic jdoramas!!

You're right on PS Man....just checked episode 4 and it's going downhill pretty fast!

Will check out A Man Called God.....scenery of Oahu, Hawaii in first episode. I think photos of the main lead in Javabeans looked worse than he actually does in the drama itself.

I check through the postings to see if any dramas are mentioned that I can check on. This is really neat!

The Rose = must nthdegree watch, I'm hoping Langdon will be w/ me... skip to all Joe's scenes and have a cardboard cutout of Ariel's big enough to cover half ur screen come scenes Joe has to share w/ E... persevere my gf.
@Ella.... very true what she's been doing in dramas is so very far fr acting but just trying mightiest to sustain by selling her own brand of charms in not nec similar characters she's = Miriam Yeung in HKcinema.... but HanakimiTW is in another league ...DWL has an improved Jerry (never a fangirl), Rose has one Joe Chang in breakout role a la Tony in DoMD, JGS in HJN, HB in Ireland....or HJW in Damo and HJW, JIS in WHiB. in hanakimi we need to suffer thro a Wu Zun ( easily worst actor in Keanu's/ DennisOh's league...and yup worst than SSH by miles)

Oh, langdon-unni is with you, alright. I can answer for her - she loves Joe in The Rose. My sister found Joe in ISWAK after meeting him in The Rose. Okay, I'm sold, ff-ing through Ella and the lame lead just to watch Joe (so worth it, I know, it's not a hard sell). Will report back. I understand The Rose was Joe's idol-making moment (and that you lump it with JIS/HJW in WHIB, Tony in DoMD AND JGS in HJI, yikes, those are high high shoes to fill, now my expectations are at a Nth degree for The Rose + Joe in drag). Is Joe in The Rose like the TW version of JIS?

I saw bits and pieces of HanaKimi when my sis was marathoning it, Wu Zun.......exists........in a very perfect way.....please don't talk anymore, go back to Farenheit (to think Jiro Wang is a better actor by miles is toooo funny). Again, Ella! Cross-dressing! Pretending to be a man! I can't commit to Ella being Ella in drama after drama. But I stare at Ariel all day long in my head, I even watched the PoS that was Tokyo Juliet for her (Ariel acting opposite Wu Zhun is like Lee Ji-A acting opposing Kim Myung-min in BV, a train-wreck of epic proportions).

You're right tho, Wu Zun is by about a mile the worst actor in the region, SSH is not that bad (I re-watched AIMH last week bc I felt like it, yup, no excuses there, I like its so-bad-its-goodness - and Won Bin!!), and SSH's crying is quite lame but at least he's crying. Wu Zun's crying looks like he's laughing/bloated, poor WZ.

Jerry much better in DWL? He looks more relaxed, no? I can tell in the trailers. He really was quite on point in MG, but I though his performance in White Tower, and pairing him with an equally stiff as a board Janine was a terrible combo, was a step back. Hey, sometimes you just need a perfect foil, and it appears Ella/Jerry is a new shipdom. Is it the new ArJoe or MingEn?

AMCG - the main lead is Song Il-kook. Have you seen him before in his other dramas (Jumong was his breakthrough role, or was it Sea God?). He's a very handsome, tall leading man. He's lost too much weight for AMCG, so he's looks too hawkish in the promos. But in the drama, his charisma and leading man charms come through so you can see that he's really very good-looking in his own way. He's also considered a good actor (I agree with this assessment), so check it out if you're curious. Hawaii looked great in ep. 1!

Ella/Jerry as an uber-shipdom akin to ArJoe or MingEn - oh, I was just asking everyone who watched DWL. I don't know since I'm not watching DWL, but people love love the drama it seems, so I was curious as well about the chemistry btw the two. :-)

@ockoala.....yes...I did notice that Song II-kook is much better looking in the drama than in the promo photos! I got turned off by the photos...but when I looked at the 1st scene of the episode I was really impressed! He's a nice looking man.

And Ella/Jerry are a great pair! I don't care for her voice....but the chemistry between the 2 is right on. And Ar/joe?!!! Wow...they are the best!!!! I have certain favorite scenes which I go back to check.

And anyone following CHUNO.....yikes....episode 14 and 15!!!! Jang Hyuk is really something! :-)

@5 lovenyc52 and @7 eiko

I was actually helping to sub Perfect Girl Evolution over on viikii when I was one of the few people who were able to get in a while back. But yeah, normally I'd dl from d-addicts and wait for girlgirl subs.

I think it's on mysoju as Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, but there is also an anime version out there - this is the live version. The opening credits song and dance alone is worth the watch just for the zanies.

It was cracktastic in the way only jdramas can be. 8-)

I must say that A Man Called God is actually striking the same weird comic vibe in me except with grown ups instead of the usual jdrama teens. So far, going into ep 3 for me without subs, it's going there. I did show my niece, who I managed to snag with BOF last week, the first episode of AMCG, and even she - only on ep 8 of her first k-drama - was totally giggling at the opening sequence.

If you think PGE was fun, you should really see if you can find Otomen. Oh, that's just a hoot and half! LOL! The most cracktastic jdramas I think are probably Otomen, Nodame, and Hana Kimi. I still think Kimi wa Petto is one of the best, but just doesn't hit the same comic addict level as the others.

Thanks for the tip....I will give it a try.

I just got through watching Yamato Nadashiko.....10 episodes....loved the cute little kid in that one! Handsome group of 4 Japanese males too....

And Kimi Wa Petto.....I loved it!!!!! Great acting. Korean version will be filming with Jang Guen Suk as the pet.....don't know who the female will be...but it better be good as the KWP version sure made an impression with me. Loved Matsumoto Jun in that role.

@ lovenyc52 et al : yep, I have been watching PGE from the start, slowly (waiting for d-addicts subs) and really enjoying it. Not sure why Kyohei needs such beautifully waxed eyebrows, but I am envious. The drama made me go and read the manga, while waiting for the subs to come out, and I have had to decide to watch the drama as a completely separate entity.

The Sunako of the manga as a character I like much better than the drama version, although I like the actor who's playing her. But in the drama she's much weaker than manga-Sunako, who's still weird and doesn't like to go out, but at home is pretty straightforward, blunt, and very much more confident in herself and her chosen identity; she just ignores or is oblivious to the boys' occasional attemps to change her, and in general, they're more supportive of her as she is. I like the relationship Sunako and Kyohei have in the manga a lot more--it's much more equal and much more comic. Their competitiveness comes out more, maybe that's it. In the drama, the rescuing is mostly one-sided. Well, I've just watched up to Ep 7; maybe it balances out more in the last episodes. And I can understand why, for logistical reasons, they may have wanted to forgo the nosebleeds, but some of the more epic nosebleeds in the manga are pretty funny. I also really don't like the way in the drama Kyohei is always calling Sunako ugly to get her worked up; in the manga, he doesn't have to do that, and it is much clearer that they understand each other better than that.

Of course, translations to the screen always differ from the originals, sometimes to great effect. But don't get me started on what they did to Jane Austen in that foul Keira Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice!

You're right about the whole 'protecting' thing.
Some episodes earlier when she was running down the corridor in heels and he began running behind her, so she turned around and blasted him for following her around and he was like ''er, it's not you i'm worried about' and he went into the whole thing about not being able to help his instincts, as a doctor.
He was obviously more concerned about the baby than her.

@eiko
About Lee and America, he got offered the job didn't he?
He refused it, he kind of lambasted them for manufacturing a bunch of placebos. And then flew back to Korea as scheduled and that was that. (?)

@19 Supah:

I thought they said it would take about a week for them to decide because of other candidates and after they make their choice....2 weeks notice. ?

It seemed like Wang noticed something going on with Seo while Lee was gone and the female who was with Lee also made a remark about going home soon. Then, of course, so did Lee's sister in law who asked Seo about more study and America.

Shucks...now, it's hard to say if Lee was more concerned about Seo's pregnancy or really missing her. I mean, the writers sure know how to put the edge on the plot with so many events.

So the plot thickens and I'm intent on not looking at any RAW versions of the rest of the episodes cause it's just going to make me anxious! :-)

ella/jerry still not in the league of Arjoe... maybe i had very low expectation of DwL...cant say for eps after 3, but it was not numbingly dumb and nonsensical even in twdramaland which i found FtLY was., i can relate to ella's sis and tbh her character is one of those grounded, non-cariaturish..almost real b8tchy sis that has real job, solid normal aspirations and i do find ella's usual ottness toned down

oh if there ever was another JIS@WHIB, it was JOE@Rose. it's so rare fantastically omg rainbows i think it'll only happen in one dramaland once. ( cant think of a jdorama equivalent... but any mention of otomen<3 fr momosan is :) )

@jerry's acting... this is my first time watching jerry, so have no comparison... but somehow I feel that certain scenes are off... can't seem to pinpoint what it is.... maybe it is his very soothing voice so the angry/ large emotion scenes become very soothing instead!

i like the ella/jerry pairing. Ella's over-the-top acting complements Jerry's "understated" acting... but that is also a problem because in some scenes yu ping (jerry's character) is like a old, matured uncle coaxing a teeny-bopper ping guo (ella's character). Nevertheless, DWL is an enjoyable ride so far :)

Shipping JIS/HJW in WHIB just made me feel dirty, like I rolled in a mudpoll in Bali and then drank a giant ice-cold beer afterwards dirty. But JIS was an iconic leading man I can tell you that, it's like he was playing both personalities of Leslie's second brother character in Alls Well Ends Well 1992 and happen to get rolled into a k-drama. And he would have been alright had he not run into the freight train of sex-appeal that was HJW. So in the end, it's the woman's fault, isn't it? And SJS - can't even begin to digest his character until I want to write an ode to the man's lips and hands, which was exquisite in and of itself.

But suffice to say, Joe@The Rose shits rainbows and unicorns? :-P Actually, I read the entire manga years ago (not one of my faves or terribly memorable), but I do remember his half man/half woman all scene stealing character. Kui was love.

Can I pretend the last two episodes of Otomen did not happen? Sheer pink frothy perfection j-drama, until the last two episodes. I almost headdesked myself into the stairmaster.

But Masaki was adorakalicious, Kaho was good but not great, but man I loved each adorable nugget of cuteness.

@ momosan - you like AMCG, too? (you still watching with hubs, twin?) So I guess the group watch is off, since I'm so way ahead of y'all, and if more than myself likes it (like actually likes it as opposing to liking to snark at it), then the group watch loses it venerable toss the vegetables at the screen hilarity.

SIK grounds his Batman/Superman/Ironman/Inigo Montoya character with his deadpan delivery, honestly, its why RDJ can do great superhero and Clooney failed miserably when it was his go around.

And I swear the theme song goes: para para para para, oh oh oh oh oh. OMG, can't get it out of my head.....

I'm almost caught up in AMCG - watched eps 3 and 4 tonight, and almost choked myself laughing when the wheelchair baddie was talking during the storm. Every ::thunder:: single ::lightning:: portentous ::crash:: sentence ::boom:: was punctuated by the storm. Just cracked me up like crazy.

BTW, apparently Korea only has one upscale riding center, since I've seen it in BOF, MFL and now AMCG.

JUST finished Perfect Girl Evolution and totally loved it!! It got a tad angsty towards the end, but never too much so (and still maintained the cracktastic-ness of a great jdorama hehe). Can I say i freakin love the skull move at the end on kame's part. skills.

@ yenchan

i agree about sunako's first kimono outfit - i think the bright red lips were overkill on her - subtle makeup worked best. her character must have been a real fun one to play :) going from the emo shut-in to the a$$-kicking busunako back to emo shut-in :P

I'm totally ICOMYM-ing Kame now. sigh.

@ eiko

I second Amg1's recommendation of Orange Days. It's really good - not cracktastic like Perfect Girl Evolution or Nodame or Hana Kimi, but a very touching and real kind of drama. One of my favorite jdoramas for sure.

Yeah, I'm in Tokyo, but only for a week and for work. Have to sneak my Japanese cultural experiences in between meetings - I work for an international organization so the work dynamics are international; only one Japanese among us, and she's a very westernised one at that. But it's pretty fun anyway! And on Saturday, after our meetings are done, we plan to do a day sight-seeing, yeah.

Hooray for your granddaughter. I've only ever been to Tokyo, and always for work. One day I really need to do a proper tour of Japan...

Hi, so you are over there now... I just got home this afternoon from there after 2 and half weeks. Hope you 'are having a great time. I'm over-worked and jet-lagged at this moment. My days in Tokyo were from 6am to mid night pretty much every day, assisting classes during day, private sessions at night... Also, I've gained may be 5 pounds? indulged myself with all the fantastic desserts... Now, I'd better start running again. I'll be there for another 2 weeks in May and 3-4 weeks in July. Will be there by any chance?

Anyway, I found myself bowing every time I was served by someone, lol. And finally, after being a sensei this month and last month, I'm speaking Japanese with all the honorifics and so on comfortably for the first time in my life.

It seems like everybody's enjoying the Perfect Girl Evolution. So did I. It was
hysterical in many ways, at the same token, behind all that, it certainly reflected on-going social problems like Bullying among school kids and being Otaku resulted by that and so on.

Yes, I liked Orange days as well. It was recommended by someone on this site to start with for me.

I just had to watch the last episode of The woman who still wants to marry without subs, sigh. Just couldn't wait any longer. Love to know the dialogues!

momosan and ockoala

Oh, Otomen! I sure do have a soft spot for that drama since I was very much involved in subbing the whole thing on a certain site. It's cuteness is at epidemic level. And that masaki kun is doing a really cute commercial with that cute boy from Perfect girl evolution. Sooo adorable together.

What is AMCG?

Anyway, to be honest, I'm so happy to be home. It's so wired in Tokyo, the crowded train rides everyday, people would look away if our eyes crossed instead of smiling like we do here. I do know that it's their way of being polite and non-intrusive, still, I'm just not used to it at all. All so in personal until they get to know you and then, you are one of them, sort of...

Whoops, It's 3pm!? Ah, day light saving had started already. So many errands to do during day, I'd better call my day off.

Anyway, super happy to be home! and thanks to OT and Dramabeans site itself, I was able to keep my sanity in Tokyo, so thank you! again.

I am being educated cause I didn't know there was another title to that drama titled Yamato Nadashiko, etc......which is about the girl Sunako-chan. I loved that drama and had a good time following it. I absolutely loved that little boy who was also great in the samurai classic Tenchijin.

@34 momosan

I had to let you know that after seeing many of your comments I am smiling and thinking you are one really "kolohe wahine"! (rascal girl)! I would imagine it's never a dull moment being around you! You tell it like it is and enjoy the heck out of each day.

I get a kick reading your comments! :-)

By the way....my first impressions of AMCG ain't so hot....I'm wondering where it's all gonna lead to and I just might not want to follow. I love the scenery....but from the hotel scene (which looks like the Kahala Mandarin) to the scene where he's sparing without a face mask.....I asked....is this for real?

Gee thanks! We're a fairly happy bunch here in our little corner of JB's land. She lets us play here.

Once I decided that AMCG was going for campy silliness it became fun. For the first episode, I was debating whether or not it was trying for that effect or achieving it by being so bad that it was good. I think I decided if must be going for it, but that in the end it really didn't matter, because it was managing to be silly either way. 8-)

I'm not sure they can sustain 24 episodes of this, but basically it's Batman.

The power rangers makeover on the beach scene is forever imprinted in my brain, so friggin LOL. :-)

As for AMCG, do you get a completely self-referential vibe from the drama - like, its SIK playing SIK playing modern-day Jumong/Muhyol/warrior god.

I don't think AMCG can even have a rats nest in hell of working EXCEPT for the lead being played by SIK. Sub in a SJS (too broody), KJH (too sensitive), KMJ (too hotheaded), or JH (too wily) - and AMCG's comic book effect fully swallows up the production and we're left not bemused and entertained by the proceedings (like I am now), but rather just overwhelmed by its ridiculousness.

SIK has this aura culled from playing king of kings in sagueks so that he completely owns a horse, a motorcycle, a junkyard, a surfboard - you name it - he acts like its nothing but an extension of his massively cut body. And he can sit on a throne all right, even a modern one in his BatLair, and not bust a rib laughing.

This whole revenge fantasy thing was last attempted in EoE to extreme and utter failure (not in ratings, but in everything else). My roboty SSH's attempt to revenge his arch-nemisis left me just laughing AT his antics and the shenanigans the writers planned out for the revenge which made no sense. And throw in a switched brother subplot which completely took over the main revenge plot, AND have the main leading lady Lee Da-hae relegated to walking a dog as her only scene in an episode, EoE become a victim of its own ambitious set up.

I'm hoping AMCG does not, and with half the eps of EoE at 24 eps, I think it will be wonderfully paced (as it has been so far). Really, when you finish ep. 6, lemme know what you think about the OTP. HCY may be my favorite leading lady for SIK (HHJ is too cold, KotW CJW too soft and mopey).

@serendipity

Have fun in Japan. I doubt I'll be near-bumping into you this time since I have not been to Japan yet.

My travel itenary looks like mostly US, London and Sydney. Perhaps we'll do the near-bump in those places.

I actually had some time before my next project starts and actually watched BOF--yes I did. Mostly due to my curiosity about how it compares to Hana Yori Dango and a small part of me always wanted to know what the fuss was about (ok a large part of me).

My overall impression is it wasn't bad as I feared. It was tolerable with lots of fast forwarding and reading JB's recap but I have to say I enjoyed JB's recaps a lot more than the actual show since I was prone to lots of eye rolling or hysterical laughter for some of the randomness and illogical scenes. It was really great to read JB's take after I watched each episode since due to the fast forwarding I missed a lot. Would I recommend this? Probably not since it misses that combination of overall good acting by main cast, story magic and good directing. Also I found Koo Hye Sun exceedingly annoying which is strange because I generally like her but I think she was trying a wee bit too hard to be cute and thisf. Also if I have to hear "Paradise" one more time I might have to perform harakiri .

I prefer Hana Yori Dango because of the tighter storytelling and the better overall cast especially Makino and Ryu but I have to say I prefer Lee Min Ho's Goo Jyun Pyo by far over the Japanese actor who played Domyoji.

Off topic but I have been so so addicted to "Survivor" this season and it has been my crack which I usually reserve for kdramas. You can watch the back episodes on CBS website. Its called Heroes vs Villains but its more like Brains vs Brawns. I haven't been this excited about Survivor since Yul won back on cook island.

Yul's cast (the brain fart segregration by race) was my last Survivor season I watched (seems so long ago). I know Yul's just married and working in DC now, but couldn't they have enticed him back. Heros v. Villains seems anticlimactic without Yul (well, okay, I'm biased cuz I know Yul from college and I was all Yul FTW his entire season), but really the heros in his pack of final four were all outstanding. May jump back in if its really as good as the general chatter seems to indicate. Thanks for the update!

Btw, the fact that you just watch BoF is so cute, and I don't know what to say other than......Paaaaradiseeeeee. :-P

@45 nycgrl and cingdoc

About BOF and Almost Paradise. Momochan, you may recall reprogrammed all the ringtowns on my cell phone after I showed her how to cut her own, and I knew she had Almost Paradise on there, and she had warned me that she had put it as the ringtone of something in the hopes that it would freak me out at some point, preferably in a most public and embarrassing place.

So, this weekend, niece 2 and I were at an event, when all of a sudden from my totebag comes "ALMOST PARADISEEEEE!" Niece 2 would be the niece that I had just managed to bring over to the dark side via BOF - so she knew immediately what it was. Niece 2 and I looked at each other, dove for the tote bags and grabbed the phone. It was my sister calling niece 2. My sister still can't figure out why the both of us were laughing our fool heads off.

I called Momochan that evening to congratulate her on the success of her plot.

My own take on BOF is that it's so randomly over the top that it's enjoyable....niece 2, who is a competitive swimmer, just rolled about laughing every time Jan Di swam - for the scholarship at a school with no apparent swim team...heck, even her inability to get out of the pool - a pool with steps, she noted, caused her to roar with laughter. Playing the violin in the woods was good for a giggle and BOF just sucked her right in.... My new theory is for adults, try EotS. For teens, BOF and a healthy dose of laughter seems to work, it caught both Momochan and Niece 2. BTW, Momo enjoyed the heck out of Attic Cat, and I believe has moved on to Shining Inheritence.

I also LOVE the skull part as well. I think I watched that part 3-4 times. The boy really do have some skills. I loved that he gave a bit of a smile when he was watching her following the skull. For some reason I also liked the very end when Kame found out about the lack of shrimp...

I am currently on Ep. 8 of OBGYN. I am officially addicted. So much confusion, so great!

On Japanese Drama recommendation, one of my personal favorite is Hotaru no Hikari. It's romantic comedy, but just be warned that the romance is very understated and don't expect a kiss. Still, I really enjoyed it.

I *love* Hotaru no Hikari. I didn't recommend it bc its not as manga-esque as the others ones folks have been discussing in this OT.

However, there is a kiss - just not between our OTP. :-) What I would have done for that kiss........j-dramas, you owe me lots and lots of making out from various dramas that lacked any form of skinship.

@momosan....

And BATMAN it is!!! LOL LOL....I don't know if I can stand the thought of even enduring more of AMCG. I'll end up reading comments and get the gist of the drama with laughter.

I'll be in funk land after OBGYN does the finale! There's a lot being said in episode 14 and Dr. Wang is the one who is giving out the messages! I was laughing at the way he would ask Dr. Lee where he's going everytime he saw him so Dr. Seo could hear it! Lee finally caught on.....

And the karaoke scene? LOL LOL....Lee put her to sleep....but she heard it all and said she liked his singing.....the look on the faces of Wang and Lee is priceless!

I still can't see her being different from the cold demeanor.....but then, she did have a lovely smile being complimented about her shoes! Of course, it changed again when she realized Lee was wearing the same kind of shoes!

Aaahhhh what fun!!!
