Just been from CSW's and HJW's soompi. Just read an update from kdramafanusa about a news article she read that says HJW's casting is not true. According to the article, she said, the news is not true because HJW's having some conflicts with the filming schedule.

Here's her original post from soompi:
"UPDATE: It's announced that there's a conflict with Ha Ji-Won's schedule so her appearance in Athena is not true. Wishful thinking too. The final casting will be announced soon..."

Has anyone been watching that Thai korean drama Autumn destiny? I love it! and that Mario Maurer guy is sexy! Possibly the cutest asian actor I've ever seen.

on a different note ALL COFFEE PRINCE LOVERS may I make a suggestion. if you've been craving the girl-turns-into-a-boy-and-guy-falls-in-love-with-her-but-doesn't-know-she's-a-girl-and-therefore-thinks-he's-gay-story-line (that was a mouthful!) then, in the interest of spreading thai drama love, I would reccomend Taddao busaya. it's fully subbed on youtube. It's quite different than coffe prince and coffee prince I'm sure, will prove to be better but hey, I loved boys over flowers even if i thought meteor Garden was better.

Speaking of coffee Prince, i seem to remember that there was supposed to be a movie version coming out feb 2010. what's going on with that?

No one is watching A Man Called God? All I want to say... Song Il-gook is so MAN hitting 40; his athletic abilities are mind blowing. He reminds me of my father. I hope this series will follow somewhat in the line of Mission Impossible quality.

I feel exactly the same way. I was running around the walls when I first read it in popseoul. But then I looked around soompi and saw this news my high spirits got dampened and I think I may have shrieked a painful "NOOOOOOOOO!"

But, yeah, that moment of temporary insanity was totally worth it! And heck I'm still praying to the kdrama gods that things would work out and that we get to bang our heads against the wall from excessive ecstasy once the news gets reconfirmed that she is indeed in for Athena! *prays to the kdrama gods*

I am officially onboard AMCG. Call it cheesy, over the top, preposterous, silly, as Mr. X says a combo of "Knight Rider and a Wong Jing movie" - but I am very entertained, but laughing at it and with it. SIK is the man alright, seriously, I've said it before, but will say it again, but the ending to ep. 2 is freaking fantastic, SIK doing spy acrobatics is fine and all, but when he's behaving like a alpha male and boxing out the second male lead so HCY is all his, I died and smiled like a mad loon. Music is also hilariously catchy. I'm so busy tomorrow but will watch AMCG ep 5 when I get back from the Bay Area.

so that's what Taddao bussaya's about... Lyn's (iheartlakorns.com) been recapping it, and i've been meaning to watch it.. but i've been so into kdramas rite now, i haven't reverted back to Thai lakorns yet. i'm actually waiting to see if some kind soul will have pity on me and subb Pee Rongram w/ Chakrit.. i mean, he is my future hubby, so i should watch all his stuff. i'm totally onboard his and Cherry's new lakorn together.

Mario Maurer? he's too pretty.. not a fan. i just can't bring myself to like him, no matter how hard i try.

totally bummed about no HJW in IRIS 2. i hope it can still happen tho.. she really needs to clear her schedule and do what i want. :D

@ Amg1 Another recommendation for you.

1. ToGetHer - My favorite Taiwanese drama. Why? Lovely couple, a bit atypical for Taiwanese dramas, an unpopular idol, and an otaku? geek who loves her Prince Casaba. Rainie and Jiro's acting is good in this, much to my surprise. Outside of some overblown acting at the beginning of the drama, Jiro does very well, showing the sensitive and caring side of his character. Lovely music, nice romantic moments between the two and at only 12 episodes short and sweet.

2. Have to second ockoala's suggestions, top 3, especially ISWAK. I prefer ISWAK 2, though.

3. Also watching Down With Love, and finding it enjoyable, even if I'm occasionally grimacing at the acting, and plot points such as fake teeth, still, Jerry is really hot and I like it that he's chasing her, not the other way around.

This will be a tough weekend. Wish Upon A Star is over, sigh... and I don't have any current series that I like to replace it. I got tired of Pasta and even Chuno (lost the momentum).

I've tried watching Birth Of a Rich Man and Merchant Kim Man Deok but the viikii licensing thing is driving me nuts.

I might have to bite the bullet and see if I can get my hands on the Tamna series if I can.

At least the Olympics and Paralypmics are finally over and I can get back to my usual schedule.

@ 55 lola Don't mean to double post, but wanted to make a correction, Taddao Bussaya isn't fully subbed if you're talking about the subs by wishboniko because the last three episodes are coming out this weekend. Because wishboniko's so fast, it'll probably be finished by next week though.

I like Taddao too. The main's character's a girl pretending to be a guy and another guy falls for her, not knowing she's a girl. It is like Coffee prince, and I really wonder if its supposed to be based on it, as I'm reminded of it every time the girl makes coffee and says, "Coffee, prince?" The male lead is a prince in title, though he lives like common people. It's really easy to believe this Tad is a boy for some reason, much more believable then Mi-nyeo in YAB. Its their relationship that makes this a pleasure to watch.

Just had a major disappointment! "Mother" was supposed to open today at my nearby theatres ~ went down to second show (2 pm) and it wasn't playing! Supposedly postponed to next week!!! Super annoyed. "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is there (also good), but the next show was at 4 pm. Came home aggravated... <_<

the bright side? at least you can go down to the nearby theaters to watch "mother" next week. i'll have to hop on a plane and fly out to whereever you are if i want to watch it.. or buy it online, and it's just not the same as watching it in a theater. so YAY for where you live!!! boo for where i live :(

Thanks to MBC America for rebroadcasting "Goong" on Friday nites. This is the series that started my addiction for Korean dramas, and "Goong" is always special to me.

I hope next dramas will be good. The year has started very well, at least for me.

I'm going to finish Still, marry me tonight. I cannot wait. I love that drama. I totally didn't expect it to be this fresh, realistic and yet funny and entertaining. See, this is why I should never have expectations for dramas cos when I do, I'm usually disappointed (think Triple).

Anyhow, anyone's watching Jejoongwon these days? Am I the only one?

I finally checked out P.S. Man (still waffling on Down With Love bc of my extreme allergy to Ella, but nice to see Jerry back).

I've only seen parts of episode 1, and have to report on one thing I am sure about, it was a perfect opening song/sequence.

Perfect song, perfect visuals, if the story sucks in the long run, I'd still give it an A+ for best opening I've seen in a TW drama since ISWAK.

As for Blue, seriously, Easy Fortune, Happy Life was a disaster for Blue and Qiao-en, they had no chemistry (Qiao-en is now dating the guy who played the second male in real life, so that says enough about that), poorly developed characters and a terrible script.

I thought Blue was weird in EFHL, and I couldn't out my finger on it, and the same problem popped up in PS Man, and now I finally know why. He is really really bad at line readings. Like, no inflection, no proper tonal shifts, kinda deadpan delivery. However, he;s a good physical actor, his facial performance is great. Work on line readings, m'kay, Blue? He's totally got the leading man presence tho.

Anyways, will continue PS Man and hope for the best. Please don't let it be another AC or god forbid, anther EFHL.

I agree that the characters in PS Man doesn't quite pull you in as much as Down With Love. Although I was very impressed with the fact the main girl in PS Man is the super sexy girl in Black and White. I thought they did a good job making her look like a dork in PS Man, of course you can still see she is really pretty anyway.

For those who recommended Taddao Bussaya I'll check it out. It would be my very first Thai drama. I just watched it about 5 minutes of it and I'll have to admit that it felt very weird that I didn't understand a single word that was spoken. At least with Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese I could pick out various vocab and the sounds are familiar. Still, the plot sounds interesting. I'll give it a try after I finished WUAS.

Just watched the last episode of High Kick Through the Roof and I didn't love the ending. I have only watched a small handful of the 126 episodes that aired and was wondering if anyone could give a brief description / summary of the main characters. I was so confused about who liked who and who was actually together.

On a side not I can not wait for March 31; I'm so excited for Personal Taste and Cinderella's Sister to air!!

oh that lakorn sounds really interesting but i've never watched one before, since i've heard nasty things about the prevalence of rape as a plot device - by the hero to the heroine no less! who can possibly think that's a good idea!

i thought i was going to be all over down with love but somehow i haven't felt like starting it - also crazy 90 minute eps omg :/ i'm ridiculously looking forward to summer bubble/summer's desire though, the extended trailer gave perhaps too much away but it looks brilliant brilliant brilliant. lol, to think how much i used to loathe barbie.

my all time favorite thai lakorn (drama) has to be Leurd Kattiya. the costumes, the acting, the storyline, the cast, the angst. OH THE ANGST! PERFECTION. i'm a total TikAom shipper.. and this drama is the epitome of TikAom-ness. it's sad that this drama has been picked up and dropped by a number of subbers.. and i'd LOVE to help out if my Thai was near passable, but it's not. i can understand enough to know what's going on, but not enough to tell someone else. if that makes any sense. plus, there's no slap-kiss/rape usage in this beautiful story. the other great thing about Thai dramas is that the production companies really don't enforce any kind of copyright on subbers, so dramas stay up on Youtube forever... which is a really really good thing.

Okay....OBGYN people....I haven't seen episodes 13 or 14 YET....someone was very excited about 14 so I am not going to let my imagination go wild!!!!

I enjoyed the last 2 episodes of WUAS.....I will miss that drama. I know there were criticisms about it but you know....it was fun and the acting was great! I loved how the nephew just kept to his guns about Pal-gang and I laughed so hard when he went to the hospital and found KH and PG hugging! I think it was funnier the way KH re-acted! But that match of KH and PG was perfect.....she finally met up with a man who could answer her back but it was neat cause you could tell it was done in a loving and caring way. Especially the scene in the office where he told her to take care of herself.....I felt really moved by what he said and how she responded with tears and then he held her face and kissed her so gently. In fact, he showed some neat affectionate moments in the last 2 episodes than through the whole drama before that! :-)

So...on to OBGYN now!!!!!

I watched the last episode of Loving You 100 Times last night. It's not a great drama, but there's something about it that keeps you from coming back. The ending is a bit dragging, typical melodrama with adultery, fatal illness, rich boy & poor girl, but it eneded happily. The next drama that I can't wait to finish is WIsh Upon the Star. Congrats to Choi Jung Won, finally she made a success with her first lead role drama. Big credits are due to the adorable kids. While waiting for the last subs of WUTS, I'll resume Jejoongwon. I love Han Hye Jin's hanboks, she looks like a doll in this drama, if it wasn't for her and Dr. Allen, I would have given up. Actually I think the story is really great, it's just the male lead... nah...

Last but not least, I love weekend even more now, it's all due to A Man Called God. Despite many positive and negative feedbacks from different type of audience, I LOVE IT, even if I have to watch raw, he he he...

I've been following P.S. Man because I got curious if the lead actor Lan Cheng Long will make a turn around and all for the kindergarten teacher who is a childhood friend he had a crush on! :=-)

And Ha Ji Won in Iris 2 with Cha Seung Won as one of the leads? Yikes....should be a very good drama to follow!

Also...to the helpful people with my Viikii problems....this morning Viikii desktop plug wanted to upgrade.....now all the dramas that wouldn't open up are working just fine! So, it's catch up time!!!!

I love, love the PS Man opening and closing song and titles. Masterfully done. The 1st episode is otherwise meh, but I will probably continue bc I, too, and interested to see how Blue gets redeemed from his assholery. And Sonia Su is the best I have ever seen her, I'm not a fan at all, but compared to her non-acting in PTIF, she's like an acting queen here. And cute to boot!

This is not based on any rumors or news, but a few other names thrown around in previous Athena threads by drama lovers have been either Kim Su-na or Jeon Ji-hyun. Both have the height, gorgeous face and figure, and acting gravitas (the former more than the latter in my personal opinion only), to take on two acting studs like JWS and CSW. Both would be excellent, but perhaps HJW may make it work.

I'll add an underrated TW-Drama: Love Contract. Superb acting by Ariel Lin and Mike He (actually the only drama that I like to watch with him as a lead) and the total opposite of his character in Devil beside You.
A quiet and beautiful love story with a even more beautiful ost.
