Needed: WordPress guru!
Apparently, the insane number of comments were impeding the loading of pages with more than 300-400 comments. I’ve put in a temporary fix with a paged comments plugin. HOWEVER, I see that the numbering starts over with #1 on every page, which is bound to get confusing. (URG.) I’m planning to upgrade the whole durned theme and site when I get the chance, but unfortunately, I suck at WordPress. A couple months ago some generous people offered to help me upgrade my CSS/themes/inserttechspeakhere. I lost contact with some of you, but if that offer’s still valid, I think I need to take you up on it now! Won’t you take me out of my CSS hell?

Happy Friday Everyone!
I'm in a K-drama slump. Other than Wish Upon a Star, I'm not watching anything else. Nothing has really grasped my attention. This weekend I watched Love & Marriage just to get my Kim Ji Hoon fix.
Anyone have any suggestions on new or old dramas to watch? I'm in the mood for a romantic\comedy. No mellow dramas please. And I find that I have no attention span when it comes to sageuk dramas. I've seen the Korean "staple" dramas, i.e. - Full House, Kim Sam Soon, Coffee Prince, My Girl, etc.. Suggestions on Taiwanese or Japanese dramas are also welcome!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

@ 51 Jasmine
I've got a super short Japanese drama I can recommend. Actually, it's more of a TV movie, and it's only 45 minutes long, but I loved it. The English title is "How to Correctly Play with a Girl" but it's easiest to find by the Japanese "Kanojo to no Tadashii Asobikata" The basic premise is that a girl and a boy begin playing a princess and servant game when they're 8 or 9 years old, and they promise to keep playing until someone finds out about it. It's different from the usual Japanese stuff (i.e. not filled with sugar crack), but maybe that's what so fun about it. The lead guy is Mizushima Hiro, who's crazy famous now too :)

@50 asianromance
:O I love you so much right now, you have no idea.
Lols, the diarrhea scene was awesome. I also love every time he starts talking to the camera. XDD So good.
Show Luo is one of those idols I actually prefer as an actor rather than as a singer. Like, he's a decent singer, and a good dancer, but most of his songs don't really do anything for me. (好朋友/Hao Pengyou is really good, though.) As an actor, though, he's capable of a surprising amount of subtlety, and is surprisingly good at ringing the desired emotions out of me. As much as I love Rainie, most of the times I've cried in HMS have been because of Show.
Also, I just discovered he has a blog, which he seems to update fairly frequently. I'm totally going to be blog-stalking him from now on. :3 (It's Chinese practice! Yeah, that's it.. *shifty eyes*)
@52 gallivanter
That show actually sounds really cute. :3 I'm gonna look for it too, thanks for mentioning it!

Oh man... It's OT Friday!! TGIF, really. I'm so, sorry, JB, about the comment problem. LOL. I would offer my CSS skills... but they are nonexistant, so I don't think things would get anywhere, haha.
Meanwhile, I was completely swamped this week. It was ridiculous. And now that has put me behind in every single show I'm following (except Wish Upon A Star, but that's because they didn't broadcast this week due to Olympics). BUT... that means I was watching the Olympics religiously. Actually, the only sport I watch religiously on the Olympics is figure skating. I can't believe Plushenko lost (although, granted, Lysacek came from the same town as I did... but still.... crazy Russian man for the win?). I was quite disappointed (as was my friend). And Johnny Weir just gives me laughs - apparently one of my friends knows him personally... quite interesting.
My real life, though, is bothering me. Some people who were my pretty close friends sort of seemed to have dropped away... It's because I used to be close to one of my friends but ever since he got into the "college MUST = drinking" phase I've drifted away from him (Honestly... I don't get the big deal with drinking. It's not a necessity in college, it's not "cool" and it's definitely not healthy. It's dumb, really. And especially if you're underage... why can't you just wait like 2 more years? I don't get it.). But my other two close (but now drifting away) friends have still stuck close to him - I think it's because they're more generous with their kindness than I am - so they end up "chaperoning" all of his drinking time, along with his other friends who drink a lot, too. Personally, I feel like one time he should just learn his lesson and realize that drinking has real consequences to it, not just "feeling happy" (which, I also think is sad that he can't be happy without the influence of alcohol). But yeah, so now they end up chaperoning all of this and spending less and less time with me that I feel like we've begun to drift apart, which is really really unfortunate.
Okay, that was my bitchy little rant. But it has really really been bothering me these past few days.

omg! i love that movie!! i think the screenplay/story won some kind of award when it was submitted in a contest so it was then made into a short movie. it's really cute and fun, huh? Totally love Hiro in it and i like the girl as well - i believe she's the girl from the Meitantei Conan SPs that star Oguri Shun.

Haha, I love Jay Chou too, but there's always room in my heart for more handsome and talented Asian men. :)
The drama's called Hi My Sweetheart, or sometimes just My Sweetheart. He starts out super adorably dorky and becomes a total heartthrob about halfway through the show. (It's almost sad.. I was really attached the the dorky Da Lang. ^^)
If you like him there, you should check out Corner With Love, with Barbie Hsu as his leading lady. He's super adorable there too, and much less ridiculous. (That show also redeemed Barbie in my eyes, because I'd never liked her before that.)

sorry about that JB at least that explains to me why the numbering sequence were off in the last OT thread. I kept refreshing and I thought i was going insane because everytime i go to the next page it starts at #1 again lol! thank you for your tolerance and generosity in creating an OT thread. Friday is not the same without it :)
Anyway, has anyone read or heard about the new social media site called "chatroulette"? apparently it allows you to chat with anyone anywhere in the world through webcam. and if that person doesn't like to chat with you maybe due to your appearance, he/she can click "next". i thought, wow! it's like internet speed dating. some 17 yr old boy from moscow created it. let's wait if he'll get lucky like the myspace guy since he's already received offers.

Verrryyy Off topic but I'm hoping for an answer to a question I have....its regarding what every happened to Aja-Aja? I just checked thier site and they don't even have the To All Anon Note instead it states access denied....Que Paso?
I support thier action of getting control over thier site but does this mean they are no longer open to any possibilty of anyone being able to apply for membership? And how in the heck did one apply for membership?? I could never figure it out...I was just hoping the issue would be resolved with the stolen links and then it would be possible....*sigh* its sad and confusing but I would really appreciate to know.
I can't believe how fast the week has past!!!! I can't wait for the new episode of Stars Falling....and to think I almost didn't follow the series...its just too cute!!! But now the reality hits! Only 7 episodes Left!!! *------* What to do!!!! Any reccomendations?!?!??! I find that my mood is for these "lighter with tugg at my heart* storylines are whats really working for me right now! I'm sorry you're going through that. A bunch of my friends went through an insane drinking period in university (I'm not a big drinker), and some of them grew out of it, while others didn't, and we just drifted apart. It sucks but, unfortunately, that's part of college. I wish I had better advice, but it's something we all go through at some point or another. I'm sure you'll make new friends that are at your maturity level :) Do you have any small or specialized classes? I struggled with meeting people until I found a really specialized class where we all had the same interests. It's been three years since I took that class and all of us are still really close.

@ ockoala: There was hardly any Zutara interaction in season 1! I watched part of another mv and I was like moley, it's strong and it's hot! And now you tell me it's not. :( I just finished s1 and was thinking of watching a drama, maybe starting autumn's concerto, before starting s2. But omg! Zuuko's sister! O_O I must say I'm looking forward to scrabbling my way to the fanfic. When I'm done with all 3 seasons I will come back and pout for recs! ^^ At least tell me when Zuuko goes for the shaggy hair? Zuko cuts his hair in Season 2 and continues to grow it out and look all hot and bothered. So you've met Azula? Oh hells that is one crazy beeyotch. Anyways, Zutara is really the entire 3 seasons combined, it's in the little gestures, subtle glances, unspoken words. I thought the Season 2 finale cemented Zutara as the OTP, but then Season 3 pretended that the cave scene didn't happen, and I was all like, WTF?
Anyways, enjoy!

Yeah I'll stop trying to force the Zutara in and just go with it. ^^ Ugh, I hate it when the powers that be screw up OTPs. Don't make it look like it'll be one way and then go the other it's mean!

I usually avoid spoilers like the plague, but I couldn't resist reading yours. (Wah! Sob! Poor DG!). I reckon it's useless to try to remind plot-oblivious of such a Phenomenon, and anyway it's unfair to other OTers who of course want to discuss it NOW. Boo hoo, I want to be in on the sob party. We've been having a sob-fest over at twitter for 24 hrs now, its kinda calmed down but involved lots of muffled screaming, guts ripped out, depression, catatonic states, you name it, we're feeling it. Care to join us. ;-)
I would have kept it there except 140 words doesn't actually allow me to compile my sure to be all-time unbeateable list of all the shit that happens to one human being - namely, Dae-gil. I almost forgot, this isn't something bad, except it shows how far gone DG is - the stroking of the imaginary shoes. Le major sigh.
Anyways, catch up with raws, JH's acting doesn't need any understanding to convey what is happening, and certain scenes have zero dialogue but sledge hammer like impact.

I'd like to ask for some advice from the frequent fliers here in DB-land. It looks like the friends that offered to be tour guides in Japan are going in April, so I have to get serious about the trip. I have a bad back and the long flight is going to be hard on any airline, but are there any that you have found more comfortable than others? It will be coach, not business class, and from Sea-Tac, not SFO or LAX, though it looks like many flights go through one or the other. Thanks in advance.

angle for her to slip-in easily the next day , I can't take it anymore !!
Too much pain for Dae gil since the beginning.

"I hate it when the powers that be screw up OTPs."
That is a very good way of putting it! It's honestly like the writers had no idea what they were writing. They were so set in the "Aang's the hero and therefore must get the girl", they completely over looked the chapter on foreshadowing, parallel storylines and symbolism. That said, despite the fact that all the kissing that Katara & Zuko do in the series is not with each other, they do have some great scenes together and provided enough material to keep the ship floating for a long time.
The good news is the Katara/Zuko fic out there is AWESOME!! (But there's a lot of it, so ask if you need to be pointed in the direction of the good stuff.)

-Cathay Pacific I had 5- 6 inches between my knee & seat in front
All these were Coach, and I do not know if they go to Japan, directly from SeaTac.

@ A : sorry to hear about your college buddy/friends experience. College is one of those places and times when friendships sort themselves out; that is, either they endure or they wither. These seem to be withering. But others will take their place. A friend studying Buddhism told me that people come into your life because they have something to teach you (you have something to learn from them, more accurately). When you've learned it, they may leave. Maybe you've learned the lesson those friends had for you.
And alcohol is a big thing to be far apart on...
Sounds like you're due to meet some new friends soon.

CHUNO Spoiler! WARNING!
The end of chapter 13 and the beginning of chapter 14 IMHO are the saddest scene so far.
Prior to this we see Un-Nyun as a very passive character, but we must realized that like JI-wan witness the death of her brother in Will Snow For Christmas Un-Nyun also witness what see thought was the death of Dae-Gil by fire, she has live traumatize by this event for the past ten years, so all she has done until this moment has been with Dae-Gil's death in the background, by the way I believe that Un-Nyun married Tae-Ha out of gratitude not out of a truly romantic love like the one she felt for Dae-gil.
When Un-Nyun see's Dae-gil for the first time at the street market we can see how her heart is being torn apart one more time, and this time is worst because the reality is that Dae-gil is not dead and the night before she consummated the marriage to Tae-Ha, if any one had any doubts about LDH'S acting ability's in this scene alone she prove the whole world wrong, I was in total tears and I felt her pain, she move me beyond what I could ever wish, totally taking by surprise, what a rude awakening, what is left for her to do at this point? I know Dae-gil is our tormented antihero, but Un-Nyun tragedy as far as I am concern it reaches Machiavellian proportions, to me her story is the most tragic of them all..... My heart has bleed for Un-Nyun!!!!!

On frequent flying.... I love Singapore Airlines, but the legroom isn't generous. Asiana is okay, I flew with them last year and it was fine... a few years ago I flew EVA in something that was between economy and business, like a premium economy, and that was really nice. Cathay is probably pretty good. And just recently I flew to HK on Air Canada--which I usually avoid like the plague for international flights (no choice domestically)--and it was actually fine. Decent selection of movies and tv shows, too.

Just watched that Kanojo to no Tadashii Asobikata show you mentioned, and it's DARLING!! It made me super happy. :D Quite well-acted, and adorably original. I want Mizushima Hiro as my servant.. :3
I know that this show was produced because the writer won a screenwriting competition held by TV Asahi.. Do Korean TV stations have anything similar? Exactly how does an unknown screenwriter get noticed? Actors can go on auditions, but how much harder is it for screenwriters? Same with directors. How exactly does one become one?
Ah, the things I think about when I don't want to do my homework..

Yay! I'm so glad you liked it :) It's really a gem in the Japanese drama department. Have you seen Mei-Chan no Shitsuji? Hiro plays a servant there too...but it's the crackiest thing I've EVER seen. So much doesn't make sense (what kind of school gives hot servants to teenage girls?), but that doesn't mean it wasn't entertaining!
I wish TV Asashi would do this contest every year...or that anyone would. Fresh blood is always needed (in my book) to the entertainment industry, and it's a little surprising to me that the writer hasn't done anything since this drama. Maybe it wasn't well received in Japan? It's so different from the style Japan has adopted in the last 5 or so years, and that's welcoming to me.

Happy Friday everyone...am so glad I got to read some of the spoilers for Ep 13 and 14 of Chuno. I've seen it already but no English sub. But still I can feel the pain of the characters...esp LDH and JH...gosh...I was crying and my hubby was teasing me because I can't understand what they are saying...they might be talking about something else...and not what I perceived it to be...lol
Can't wait for next week. I am sooo looking forward to Wed and Thurs now...instead of the weekend..lol
Have a great weekend everyone...
