I'm deathly afraid to watch Red Cliff now. Like, akin to my fear of watching torture porn and the genre called Saw. Ah, must persevere, Team MOB thrives on consensus and I'm the lone member yet to "watch" RC.

@ockoala,

Red Cliff is a lot of fun. Tony and Kaneshiro are both miscast, somewhat badly against the actual historical figures. (Then again, I think it's hooterific that Chow Yun Fat is going to playing Confucius. That's like Brad Pitt playing Jesus playing Brian Boitano.)

Ah see, sometimes it's good to be woefully ignorant. I enjoyed the hell out of Red Cliff I and II...having no clue about their basis in fact or fiction, or the blatant disregard of any actual historical events. I think if you approach it purely from the viewpoint of "Oh, these characters all have the same names as some historical figures, but...isn't Takeshi just so PRETTY when he strategizes?" then it'll be okay. ;-)

@88 serendipity

“heavy metal wuxia histrionics” – Ah yes, I’m so easy to please. All I ask for is a stonking soundtrack, an epic setting, a plausible story, good-looking men in costumes, battles and cool fight scenes, and moderately clever camera work,… and next thing you know I’m wasting days of my life obsessing over extended DVDs of Lord of the Rings!

I am with you. I just get entranced by all that stuff.

Finally watched the last episode of WISFC(last 10m to be exact) to see what JB(thank you! described was trues. Boy, she gave it more credit than what it was. That's the most understated ending of the year. Is it an Asian sensibility? I'm Americanized, I wanted more. It felt like having a big slice of black forest cake right in front of my eyes but I'm not allow to savor it. Darn...

I'd love to continue on Chuno, but for now watching it, is too involving, watching the screen and reading sub-titles... It commands 100% of my attention... I still love the idea of gorgeous half necked men involved in various activities from swords battles, hanging out and other things.

So for now, I'm sticking with my J dramas. for one thing they are shorter, only 45m a episode. don't have to read subs. less concentration required.

Watched Code Blue season2 ep4. it was sooo good and touching, I was crying and Yamapi is as good looking as ever. I mean better than ever.

So, everyone, if you'd recommend one light heart-ed uncomplicated fun K drama of this season, what would it be? I'd love your suggestions. Thank you.

I can think of two, Pasta and Wish Upon a Star. Fun!!

samsooki also recommended Super Rookie as the most fun drama he's ever watched. I only saw 30 minutes of it this afternoon and I think I might agree. Plus, if you're missing Oh Ji-ho from Chuno, look no further, he's in Super Rookie (very clean and GQ-looking too. Although I like him long-haired, dirty and scruffy in Chuno best. Wow, I'm going off on a tangent here. :-D)

One of the "Period" films that I enjoy last year was "The Reader" with Kate Winslet, and the reason is that I know is not base on a true story or any historical facts.
Being a lay historian of sorts, I must admit that when a film or drama writer/directors take unnecessary liberties with historical facts, having say that, we know ahead of time that K-dramas like "Chuno" they are a figment of the writer and directors Imagination, it is intended for entertainment purposes only, it is not like watching a proper documentary base on historical facts.
Not only Koreans take liberties when writing a fusion drama Hollywood is well know for doing that all the time.

I hope Louis Cha bans Wong Jin's left buttcheek from making anymore of his drama adaptations. But for the fact that I hate waste and must finish watching Fox Volant 2006, I would rather marinate my eyeballs in vinegar for a few hours. ZJZ's version may be pretentious, poorly edited pseudo-LC, but WJ ups him one level and goes straight for godawful - bad acting, bad directing, bizarre hairstyles on ALL the major players, unfathomably bad action sequences (WJ is Cantonese, right, or was he pretending for the last 30 years, WTF??), and lobotomized character interpretations (did you want to feed teenage Miao Ruo-lan to a pit of dimwitted alligators, cuz I DO!). The only two things he got right are the climate (yes, snow everywhere) and the costumes (yay, pwetty outfits all around). And Yuan Zhi-yi - Athena, you've almost lost all goodwill I have reserved for you. I am afraid to keep watching for fear that when Ady An shows up as adult MRL, I'm going to start throwing things at the TV. And I can't even talk about Gillian's "acting" as Cheng Ling-su.......she's real pretty, I must confess, not a Twins fan so never really knew her work before. Anyways, must stop talking to prevent Hulking out in anger.

I'm going to entice hubby to watch Duke (Andy-Tony version, of course) with me to cleanse my mind. I would immediately rewatch LoCH, which is what I am itching to do, except for my sister has my DVD set and she's refusing to marathon it so I can get it back quicker! She's all "I'm not in the mood yet" and I'm about this close to driving over to her place and busting a door down and taking it back. This close.....

Happy news - WUAS is now a must-see drama for me, I'm officially eagerly watching for new episodes and kinda nervously dreading the weekly lull. It's so my cupcake right now!

And I finally finished On Air - which is the most schizophrenic drama I have ever watched. Usually episode one sets the tone, and the final episode does not make you wonder if you just watch two wholly unrelated dramas. On Air did that, and every ounce of screechy, bitchy, slappy, pretentious, annoying thing in episode one is counter-balanced by a wonderfully understated, sweet, tender but not treacly ending. Too bad I can't recommend it for fear most people will have night sweats after spending the first 3/4 of the drama with the some of the most awful characters ever created, all of whom turned out to be rather flawed yet kinda like your drunk uncle at the wedding, rather sadly endearing in the end.

My probs with RC... least of which will be the historical inaccuracies. ;) the liberties in the name of making a good movie, I am all for it. However, when liberties were taken and the end result was so much less than the original when I read it in dry old text as a kid, y bother?! Takeshi can be PRETTY (I should say it's impossible for him to not be pretty, I can literally watch paint/clay dry on his face http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seNDSPPrp8g it's a PG clip, but of coz it can be sth else at ~7:20 when he had to voice the grunts of the character...mmmm), Zhuge was a handsome brainiac, but y ignore almost all interesting facets of all the characters and just present the one superficial, nonessential part that and made them into caricatures that r not even unanimously crowd pleasing?! RC should never be a movie w/ pretty boys, just like no Avatar young fan will be dreaming to be a quadriplegic. and if Kate had her usual makeup and did not act up a storm in The Reader, we would not have the movie we enjoyed.

I don't think Chuno is as engaging to me as I expected it to be, it's still good and dedicated work, but I find myself zoning out in ep 3, 4. I still enjoy bits of it, but I had a more realistic expectation of it now. Thanks Belleza :), good! I'm relieved coz for a while I was rewinding and going 'am I missing some deep plots?!?!' lol it's very getting on my nerves though....when these devices are thrown on screen when the alternative is to move along, PD!!! Anesthesia, exactly. they r not rocking the choreography of true wuxias here with the killjoy slowmos imo. WKW's ashes was masterful, he can indulge in all his postering and Leslie fanboy possessiveness with all those freeze frames and slowmos WITHOUT affecting the tempo of the fight. It's seamless esp when the scene was so artfully framed accompanied by the streamlined, realistic, haunting warcries and every bit of audio nec to frame the peripheral (ie no pseudo Rock) WHEN the camera honed into that freeze frame, we're never taken OUT of the scene. Not the case with Chuno, If I need to feel more for the characters on top of admiring their abs, I want to be fictionally put at the spot of the fight and feel the urgency, the dread and w/ choreography, the wuxia dance does have a flow, not like the entertaining abs flashing intermissions or bathroom breaks in Chuno.

@twin,

seriously that Fox WJ horror, I think I'd rather watch SAW. See WJ = Michael Bay. I doubt his movies had scripts...ever.

o I love WUAS as well, ff'd thro ep 3. it's breezy, cute..no brainer, yet engaging! :) Tried out that Jerry/Ella vehicle yet?!

On Air.... very not my thing. 'the first 3/4 of the drama with the some of the most awful characters ever created, all of whom turned out to be rather flawed yet kinda like your drunk uncle at the wedding, rather sadly endearing in the end.' now 3/4 of an ep, maybe, but a drama. I'd rather have a migraine while being lobotomized without painkillers. Also I find KHN (and everybody else) overacting to the extreme like some daytime soap. it's bizarre.

O Belleza, I'm not sure if that Onimusha movie is still a go, Takeshi and Heath were signed on and cameras were set to roll if not for his tragic death. Your Chambara, maybe?! It'll be awesome and my thing if they can get a great Nobunaga

@ 205 celestialorigin

WiSC - Agree that the ending was understated. Personally I'm ok with understated. But I'm dissatisfied with it in the context of WiSC because I feel it should have been MORE tragic! Given the arc of the whole narrative. I feel kind of let down that it ended with a whimper. But relieved that it didn't end with a rah-rah everyone happy, which would have too incongruous. Perhaps a mix of tragedy and hope, and on a bigger scale than what we got, eh?

Yamapi - There's a mystery. The boy can't act (or sing) particularly well. And yet I have watched compulsively almost everything he's been in. Why, oh why? Doubtless, he is cute, and has a likeable charm. Is it hope, that he must, this time, finally bring the goods? Is it that deep-down I root for the underdog, the endearing but talent-less one? It's a mystery. Whatever it is, I'll definitely be catching Code Blue 2!

I'm deeply into Chuno, and that's about all I have time and energy for, so can't recommend anything light-hearted, alas. Oh, where is YAB when you need it!

(FYI, I'm going to be off-line for a few days. Will pick up on OT later. Not ignoring you!)

Thanks. btw your recommendation and ockoala's comment, I might try Wish Upon a Star.

@212 serendipity

Yamapi, it's his eyes and cheekbones... LOL! In CB2, he's doing more staring and just being present than anything else, so that helps. No, He does carries sort of certain ambiance, sort of gentle, non-invasive... That itself can be defined as talent? I almost claimed him as mine(don't think anybody has done that,right?) on my last post earlier, but somehow, I didn't feel like it. As much as I luv watching him, he's not the one. For me, it's Harumakun!

*pouts* I hoped that the WUAS recap would be up today, but since it isn’t, I guess I’ll have to load my squeezing over here…hope no one minds ^^

Warning: SPOILERS

Who would have thought that Kang Ha’s jerky personality and how he says whatever he wants without consideration for others feelings - would come so in handy. The scenes between him and that annoying girl (she irks me so much I don’t even bother to remember her name) were priceless! His facial expressions fluctuate between “Too bored” and “Don’t care” had me in stitches! I’m so glad there’s finally a main character who’s not afraid to put the clingy (non)gf in her place. It always irks me in other dramas when the bitchy girl goes around hurting others and telling them off, but the main guy never confronts her because he’s too nice and “doesn’t want to hurt her”. Pishposh! I say if you think you can dish it to other people, you should be able to handle it yourself. Zero sympathy from me. The last scene between KangHa and his brother made no sense to me (“I like her and she likes you so you must marry her in order for me to be happy” – say what?), butI’m glad one of the brothers has the sanity to point that out.

And the kids, honestly, need I say more? I love that these kids are so frank (the restaurant scene –ROFL!) and speak with no inhibitions…gives Kang Ha a taste of his own medicine.

For some reason I don’t buy that Kang Ha’s fallen for PalKang so quickly. Yes she’s cute, but he spent years ignoring her and now suddenly starts falling for her after an episode of close interaction? Seems a little quick, especially for his personality. But ah well, I’ll take it…if only to be able to see KangHa’s wrestling with himself manifest through facial contortions. ^^

Man, to think if it weren’t for JB’s winning recaps, I probably would’ve missed this gem of a series. Thank you JB!

On Air - "Also I find KHN (and everybody else) overacting to the extreme like some daytime soap. it’s bizarre"

Oh, you are absolutely right, though I counter that the person who over-acted the most was Song Yoon-ah. It was like the cast wandered in from their audition for General Hospital 2. The first episode needs to be seen to be believed that it was allowed to Air (ha ha, stupid pun).

But, along the way, I learned a lot about the k-drama making BTS shit that happens, and everyone tones down the acting mid-way through, and by the end, it was rather nice and lovely wrap-up. I only watched because it was on every Friday night for the last 3 months. And KHN plays a mentally handicapped character in the drama within the drama, and she was so bad it was absolutely funny to watch.

I'm so excited lots of folks have picked up Wish Upon a Star, it was for KJH I checked it out, and I stayed for the kids. And for how much that little drama just makes me LOL and tear up all the time. But I hate Franken-Choi Jiwoo (the chick who plays JY - who clearly botoxed herself to look like CJW but EPIC FAIL!).

As for Wong Jing, I like his silly movies, but that's it, it's like watching a direct to video fare and enjoying it for its brainlessness. But when he attempts an LC novel, that's like Uwe Boll directing King Lear, horror upon horror befalls us all!

@twin,

Wong Jing's silly movies don't need a script! ;) he's fine with handling silly fratboy shenanigans on screen....and nth else. and he's a Chin Lit major (w/ honors).. go figure! so he should be able to do Deer of LC, but nth else. (o shoot he did with Stephen Chow...never mind..)

That's exactly the reason y I can't bring myself to check out Peter Jackson's Lovely Bones. I loved the book, but he's only good with visualizing literally what's exactly on the page. It worked for LoTR... but for sth more ...enigmatic as Bones... I have doubts.

Jason Reitman, on the other hand, please just adapt every book I'm fond of. I just saw Up in the Air and I liked it as much as the novel itself. And Thank you for not Smoking is still one of my fav book to movie adaptation!

Oh wow, I *knew* she resembled someone, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it (and didn’t have the patience to sit through her scenes to look more closely). Thank you ockoala for once again solving the mysteries of life for us. ^^

Has anyone else noticed that KangHa’s hair has gotten a lot better? It looks shorter to me….but maybe it’s my increasing bias towards him *blushes* it’s amazing how much personality can change your perception of someone.

Hi guys....I'm finally back(kissing the ground in kdramaland)....missed you all while I was in HKG.
I came back on Sun, but immediately upon arrival, I had to go to Rowland Hts to do my Chinese New Year's purchase. That was not fun at all. Husband didn't want to be there, I was SEVERELY jetlagged (barely got 2 hours of sleep while on flight which was thankfully short- 11 hours only !!!!). I skipped dinner and slept . I just got up enough to drop the girls to school and slept again the good part of Monday. I'm at work now, giving Hubby a day of rest ( although knowing him, he's probably doing some project at home, poor thing).
I'm using Hubby's laptop and am not used to it...hence, more typo's(than normal)....things that I learned since I got back from my trip:
1) there are more people than I thought missed me (you guys are soooo sweet); my girls missed me esp because of the food (too much eating out, he he )
2) my oldest one (who's almost 16...I didn't feel like writing 15 1/2) passed her driver's ed and will be taking driving lessons ( YIKES)
3) the oldest one got a boyfriend ( the 12 yo snitched her sister out, lol)..more of that later
4) I do not like living in city ( like HKG)....too crowded and stressful
5) I actually can survive without my laptop and kdrama for 3 weeks ( although I did watch Yi San, Terroir but only in parts and in chinese (didn't like that- I prefer Korean with Eng subs)

My Mom is getting better each day; she started her physical therapy and is not in as much pain. If all is ok, she'll return with my sister on the 12th of Feb. I might go to the Bay Area ( @hjkomo) for Chinese New Year that particular weekend, but since I missed so many days of work, I'm really relunctant to take off again??!!!!

I haven't watch any kdrama since I got back, again since I don't have my own laptop yet ( I need my "fav list" in order to know which drama and what epi).
Hopefully, I will have my laptop back by the end of this week. I will chat with you all later....

Welcome home cingdoc!!!! So happy to hear the good progress your mom's making!

@#$%! Oh, Ms. Langdon

I don't know whether I should have thanked you or not... During my lunch(just now), I said to myself why not watch Ep.9 of Wish upon a star. Now, I can't stop! I've even taken a month off from my day job for my business and i was going to concentrate on that totally and completely and I suddenly found myself glue to the screen... Well, I have to admit it's my own will power problem. Of course, your wise advice is always welcome and I thank you.

So, Ms. hjkomo

I guess I'll watch Pasta after my classes are over and done so as not to repeat my mistake here. Thank you anyway...

I lasted all of January, I did, I did, willpower and stamina out in full force.

But two days into Feb., no actually just one day into Feb, I'm waving the white flag of surrender. Drama gods - I'm your slave again! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED episode 10 of WUAS! AHHHHHHHH, it's so so good, I am so addicted to this little drama I'm now rewatching old episodes and giggling randomly when I remember a particularly funny moment. And each time I flash back to the sauna scene or the scene when PK promises Nami she'll pick a star for him, wahhhhh I get all misty-eyed again.

Episode 10 was the perfect middle point - the story is moving so fast, yet feels so intimate. Tae-kyu pretty much killed it in this episode, and any scene with TK in this drama has been a highlight of comedy and sweetness.

And I've never been a total hater of Kang-ha, and thank god for that, because I buy his slow thaw like it's a sure-win lottery ticket. I love his conversations with PK, just wonderfully acerbic and the right way to show opposites attract.

And I would officially commit seppuku if I ever kissed a man and had him react with the absolute distaste KH showed when JY molested him. JY needs to be boiled in a vat of burning oil. Thank you! And the kids, I'm ready to make more babies so I can have my own Nami to lug around, now that my two are running around (j/k, j/k, but the baby is soooooo cute!).

At this point though, JH is completely a non-entity in this drama, except to look sympathetic or curious, so I hope he gets more meaty action. The drama is flawed in many ways, of course, but it's gotten the dramaholic in me to squee uncontrollably Mon-Tues, so I have to share my point of view.

I stopped watching Pasta after episode 4, am planning to watch it all when its done, but between the two dramas, for some inexplicable reason WUAS sucked me in and I merely enjoyed Pasta. Both great choices for a fun ride on the episodes I've seen of each!

@mookie,

"O Belleza, I’m not sure if that Onimusha movie is still a go, Takeshi and Heath were signed on and cameras were set to roll if not for his tragic death. Your Chambara, maybe?! It’ll be awesome and my thing if they can get a great Nobunaga"

Getting a good Oda Nobunaga means you gotta find an actor who's half centurion, half rat. (Takeshi Kaneshiro would make a wonderful Uusegi Kenshin.) Not sure why they don't just make a proper movie version of Tekken or something, starring Rain. Whatevs.

Wonder how Hsiao Hsien's Assassin project is going. Probably will never quite understand HHH's muse love for Shu Qi, but she IS good in his work. Apparently his influence is going to be MIYAZAKI? OMG that doesn't even make plausible sense at all and yet I'm like OMG HHH I LUB-LUB-LUB U!!

Can't even begin to describe my extreme expectations for this project. In theory, HHH will actually have to introduce a jump cut because it's "impossible" to shoot a wuxia without a transition cut.Or is it? Will HHH give us a bamboo melee scene where he doesn't do one single jump cut? IS IT POSSIBLE?!?

Wuxia is desperately in need of an eye that can flip its loaded misery into the cubist sensualities. Succeed and wuxia will continue for another 1000 years. HHH is That Guy.

"I still love the idea of gorgeous half necked men involved in various activities from swords battles, hanging out and other things."

Oddly enough, this good idea. :D

"having say that, we know ahead of time that K-dramas like “Chuno” they are a figment of the writer and directors "

Chuno really is wonderful historical fiction. It's actually written a lot like a very good Mandarin historical drama in that there's very strong emphasis on class, commerce, and practical consequences of policy. (Taiga is kinda the opposite of that; a frequent poetic of taiga is to have characters chorus an idealogical talking point again and again as impetus. Sometimes dumb, sometimes rousing.) Where Mandarin historical dramas sometimes struggle is reconciling historical detail with occasionally shrill posturing due to the Sino-melodrama tradition (aka trope of thunderbolt striking down village mother grieving over just dead son . . . forgot where I saw this, but it really happened like that!)

Chuno doesn't have that problem. And in fact, where Chuno is great is in interpreting the "fusion" qualifier as a marraige between "serious historical fiction" and "rock star" mythmaking. Not just merely the surface pleasures of beautiful nekkid men playing with their weapons (giggle giggle) overcompensating for latent homoeroticism by way of "pretty aggression." Chuno wants us to process Jang Hyuk, Oh Ji Ho, and Lee Dae Hae as GLAMOUR ICONS by which the polemical gives into pop myth. Paramours. Pretty boy bitches. Private poets giving serious fatalistic heat to the camera.

Such is Chuno providing a new wrinkle to the Golden Era HK formula. I'm not sure if I subscribe to it, but this is worth the test spin. It's not really art; it's a slo-mo media presentation for the position of Hollywood of the Far East.

"I knew you’d be back, but I thought you’d be back on Monday… but glad anyway that you are safe and sound."....I tried,but Mr.Sandman won, and I was zzzzzz most of Mon. Btw,our Ji Hoonie didn't wait up for Auntie Cingdoc on Sun, right??lol.
I definitely like Cathay Pacific more. The seating was a little more spacious, and the fact that I was not a headrest for 2 strange men helps ;)

Another thing I learned from my trip( correct me if I'm wrong@mookie)
people in HKG is very status conscious-
they lit up when they hear about your occupation and exchanged business cards.
Well, as my mother would called me "hippie"(@hjkomo,since we're from Cal, ya think?? o_O), I never carry any of mine( I have this " I have nothing to show off" attitude).My Mom still manages to "brag" about me...ooookayyy...I then started to ask others for theirs, too. One of the junior manager started to give me his card, and ended the conversation with " this is my personal email address and phone number",o_O o_O which I promptly answered back" I will certainly bring my Hubby and kids to visit this hotel". (It was the Mandarin ). My sister gave me the "you still got it look", but I just chuckled..please...I'm an ahjumma...a hippie one at that.(besides, I would save that special look for my Gong Yoo, not some dude in HKG, lol)..so that was one of the highlights of my trip ( others being- you're not from here ....you speak Cantonese pretty well for a foreigner( do I really look that bad??)...aren't you cold ( NO, it's 22C or 69F).

I haven't watch any Chuno episodes( probably marathon it later),but read about the critisms...people,need a life...just enjoy the drama ( and shower scene,right @langdon??

I REALLY need my laptop back...I started to feel the kdrama withdrawal :(

^ First WB Cingdoc! :)

on 'status conscious'... is that solely a HKG thing?! o_O frankly I think it's way worst in Shanghai if we're solely talking about being 'label conscious' ;)

Mandarin is a 6 star hotel if there is that extra star I can put there and HKG's main industry is tourism and finance. To be honest the manager in Mandarin was being nice. Doctors r highly respected a profession in HK, but being in a health profession is still 'middle class' compared to an investment banker/ VC. I get insanely awesome service even when I'm in my sweats as teenager meeting up the aunties for tea there (and yup, u can get frequent sightings of Leslie back in the days ;) **sigh**) and exchanging business card is a very usual (Asian) thing, no?! I mean when I'm visiting my cousin in Tokyo, all her friends exchange biz card with me even when we're in a dark karaoke and I can barely see anything. :)

after 1997 and with each passing year, it's harder and harder to differentiate HKer fr mainlander. and, there r drastic cultural differences... that's y Ocean Park is a must see for ppl watching. You got the tourists fr all over China there and their habits r fascinating ( once we're all lining up to walk out of a theatre after the show, the tourist lady in front of me decided to spit.... and she did it 'open air' style and she 'brilliantly' thought up to turn on her back and spat so she wont have to step on it... I'm right behind her... but I had wuxia in me and dashed into the aisle of seats in 0.1 s)

I need convo now to pick it up tourist/local.. in downtown area, most ppl u see walking around r tourists..and when me and hubby r back, we get seriously curious eyeballing and got offered seats in the subways being mistaken as some weird tourists because we convo in local cantonese yet we r so off with the slangs.. we talk on alien subjects and dun have a clue where to get off those 14 seater public transport minibus thing, or how to get to a famous food crawl dig just like 20 steps away...that's what turning heads. lol

@ celestialorigin & serendipity
Ahh... Yamapi, I am in the same boat. I can't quite logically say why I am fascinated with him, but he is the only one I would search youtube for videos of him. I would totally claim him as mine... except I can't quite get over the age thing.

@ celestialorigin do you have any j-drama to recommend for this season or even last season. I have been on a K-drama roll, but I can start to feel that j-drama itch coming back.

Looks like everyone has already recommended the two k-drama I am following. I am just loving Pasta. I have started on Woman Who Still Wants to Marry and so far I think it has potential.

This is completely and totally random, but I know the song that plays at the beginning of this clip, but I don't know what it is. I know I have heard it before.

HELPPPPPP!!!

OMG! OMG! ended up watching the ep9 and ep10 of wish upon a star!!! More than two productive working hours spent on them... Wonder if I'll be staying up all night to catch up with my work? Anyways, I love this drama , it's delightful with all the little ones and two gorgeous leads, especially the one from Soulmate. I luv him and the way he carries himself! Lately, I'm just luving anyone... Spring is coming early to So. cal... my apricot tree is blossoming, already.

@225 ockoala
Yep, yep. I know it's totally full of flaws. But it sure does make me laugh out loud.

@231 jtinma

Of course, of course. Bloody Monday season 2 with Miura Haruma kun(Mine!) on Sat.. Code Blue season 2 with Yamapi(as I mentioned ep4 made me cry)on Mon. Perfect girl evolution( seacret: turn your brain off while watching this one) with Katu-tun(Kamenashi Kazuya)on Fri. and Magerarenai onna on Wed. First 3 with very pretty boys The last one, It's sort of interesting story telling about a girl who is not flexible(control freak) at all about everything in her life. Don't know why, I'm very attached to this one, may be because supposedly she's from where I'm from... Those are the one I'm floowibng this season. they are only about 47m long. which helps... Last season, Real clothes , Ohitorisama, Tokyo dogs with Mizushima Hiro and samurai high school, also with Miura Haruma kun, wasn't that great except for him. I endured (skipped some episodes). The season before: Otomen(absolutely adoreble), Koishiteakuma with another super cute teen idol boy and Buzzer beat with Yamapi(you've seen it?) Hope you can find something you like.

Wait! What do you mean about the Age thing???? Is he younger or older? Are you are a member of ICOMYM(is it how it goes? can't remember)?

@234 belleza

"butterscotch stallion" Is this a real bleed? or a fictitious one? Gosh, I'm now so distracted that it's hard concentrating on my work, I guess what I really want to do is to marathon ep2-ep8 of WUAS... Sigh.I must be going insane... Is this a K drama hell or bliss?

@234 belleza
"butterscotch stallion" !!! I swear people here are so cleaver that sometimes I feel quite intimidated to write. Although, the more I try to picture "butterscotch stallion" the more ... umm... I am going to take a moment to fan myself.

@233 celestialorigin
Thank you for the suggestions. I am going to follow Perfect Girl Evolution. I have seen the first couple ep. of Tokyo Dogs, and samurai high school (still planning on going back to finish it). I did finish Ohitorisama (cute). Of course LOVED LOVED Buzzer Beat. It was my sacred one hour a week where I stared at my computer screen and smiled like a complete deranged person.

Oh, and Yamapi is sadly, so tragically younger than me. Let's see, he is 23 right? So he and I can still work if say I was an accomplished stylist of a large modeling agency and he is my newly hired temp. worker. For month he has been the underling that gets in my way, but today all the sudden when one of my model got sick and was forced to use my temp. worker as a substitute I noticed something different. As we pour butterscotch all over him I realized "darn it where did this kid get all those muscles from!"

I think I did read in OT somewhere what ICOMYM meant but I can't remember now. Is it I Can Ogle Many Yummy Men? Gosh, I better stop here.

@belleza, once again a woman after my own heart, I do agree with you about "Chuno", most people do not realized how expensive it is to really replicate the "Past" to a tee, Mel Gibson in his movie @ Jesus, and the one about the Mayans, the actors had to to memorize their script in Aramaic ( the language that Jesus spoke) and the Maya dialect of Southern Mexico and Central America, etc,etc.
The Passion of the Christ cost @ 30 Million, Apocalypto cost @ 40 million, the only way to made " Chuno" almost 100% historical accurate will be for the producer to invest the 30/40+ million dollars that takes to achieve that Goal.
Having say that, Chuno for what it is, is a very enjoyable show that does not warrant the constant barrage of uneducated and mean spirited comments..
Regardless of the bad rap, Chuno will be a classic of K-Fusion Dramas.. : O }

"I think I did read in OT somewhere what ICOMYM meant but I can’t remember now. Is it I Can Ogle Many Yummy Men? Gosh, I better stop here."....that's good,I like that very much...
FYI the original( though not exclusive, as you sooo cleverly demonstrated) ICOMYM as declared by our honorary Madame President @langdon-
Inappropriate Crush On Much Younger Men....but I doubt @langdon would "disagree"with YOUR "interpretation"...good one...I needed that ;)

Man, that was a fun two hours live tweeting Lost with my unni (which really calls for a group watch to discuss live, actually), and bothering hjkomo who is busy making a Chuno cake for us to enjoy soon.

I need some k-drama now. :-P And apparently I need to watch more j-dramas to see what all this Yamapi love is coming from.

@ hpn88 & cingdoc

That's the song Eun-chan and Han-gyul are singing when they're running down the street, playing in the fountain (towards the end of Ep 7).

@ ockoala

Sometimes I feel sorry for the people who follow me on Twitter and have to endure my extreme highs and lows over my shows. I often read back later and just cringe. But it was so much fun having someone doing the same thing right along with me! :-D

Hey cingdoc!! Welcome home, glad your mom's doing so much better! Actually, I'm in the same time zone you are at the moment, I'm in Las Vegas at a trade show.

And "Ogle Many Yummy Men" certainly applies; in fact, I think it's the first bylaw. They just have to be YOUNGER men. This is the year of the ajumma, after all! ;-)
