Lee Seon-kyun presents Pasta staff with gifts
by javabeans
Lee Seon-kyun, who is headlining MBC’s Pasta, has given gifts to the drama staff, just as the show is about to go on the air this week. The presents of 70 jackets were given on January 1 and Lee explained, “This winter is especially cold and the staff is suffering through it as they film. As the lead actor, I prepared this gift to show that I’m thankful and also sorry.”
Meanwhile, the drama has added another cast member to act as a friend and support to Gong Hyo-jin’s character, Jung Da-hye of cable show Rude Miss Young-ae. She is fired only a day into her job as the kitchen’s fourth-ranked staffer by the main chef Choi Hyun-yeok (Lee Seon-kyun). This is a common occurrence with the bad-tempered chef, who has similarly fired three other women; Jung Da-hye joins them in forming a sort of club under the motto, “Kill Choi Hyun-yeok.”
Pasta premieres tomorrow, January 4.

“This winter is especially cold ..."
Really? Oh my. No wonder I was freezing my butt off in Seoul. I thought it was normally this cold in Seoul? I do feel sorry for the actors and staff who have to film outside in this weather. It is freezing just being outside for one hour, let alone the numerous days and nights that they're outside filming.

Kill Choi Hyun-yeok club?
That sounds like something belleza, mookie and hjkomo might join. If I like this Pasta drama, maybe I'll start the Save Hyun-Yeok club.....
Already my 2010 is filling up. It is like the first week of January! I am still trying to finish pre-2010 dramas!

I always thought it was kind of ridiculous how in BTS segments, they'd show the actor in plainclothes and as soon as the scene cut, assistants rushed forth with huge puffy jackets and the rest of the crew was shown all bulked up. This is so misleading! I always thought the weather in Korea was mild until I saw those.

@Carolyn, LOL. But if they showed the actresses bundled up in real winter clothes, you wouldn't be constantly reminded that they weigh <50kg. ^^ I never ceased to be amazed at the (skirt)lengths Seoul women go to to be fashionable in the cold. Or how they negotiate -- rather, run through -- through the cobbled streets in their heels. ::awe:: (The sidewalks aren't paved smooth as they are here, but are put together like puzzle pieces, so it's even harder to walk.)

@Carolyn -
Weather in Korea tends to be about the same as southern New England: harsh and cold in the winter, hot sticky and humid in the summer, and relief only on the coastlines. Also like southern New England, Korean springs and autumns tend to be extremely pleasant, but last only short periods of time before its either too hot or too cold.

Aww, Lee Seon-kyun may have made a very obvious remark about winter, but its still cute that he gave everyone jackets to wear in this weather; it shows he's thinking of them.
@Samsooki: Then if I ever go to Seoul I should be fine come the winter months. I've spent all my 19 years living in Southern New England.

This site has grown so much over the years! I love it.
Thanks to all the recappers, because I can't wait to see what you all have to say about 2010.
Its definitely starting with a bang!
Pasta + Chuno = even if the stories suck, I will blissfully rejoice in the abundant man candy!
But, I have REALLY high expectations for both of these dramas.
... Lee Seon Gyun, Gong Hyo Jin, ALEX!, Oh Ji Ho &Jang Hyuk... some of my ultimate favorites!!!
(I just need a little Gong Yoo and Yoon Kye Sang)
Happy 2010 fellow dramaddicts!

I just can't make myself want to watch this drama even though I like the main actors. I work in a busy family owned Italian restaurant. I see wild and crazy trauma and drama everyday.

I'm definitely going to watch this drama. I like the 2 lead actors. To watch this drama will also remind me of Gong Yoo, who has worked with these actors previously.

Lee Seon-Kyun is one of the first actors I really noticed in the short time I have been watching K-dramas. One of those people who has a certain charm that is in real life and in his work.
Anyone else craving 'Pasta' already? ;)

Why would anyone want this man to die? He's got a good heart to give all 70 staff members jackets out of his own pocket. Why kill off the good hearted people when we still got so many psychos out there?! O.o
Anyway, I hope Pasta the best. Not only for my benefit but also for the staff and anyone else who will spend their valuable time watching it. ^^
