I'm sick again. I feel like I've been sick on and off all of Oct and Nov.

On the plus side looking forward to all the family gatherings around Thanksgiving. 3 days of marathon eating will add 5 lbs and then its christmas which will add another 5 lbs and than new years will bring some resolution to undo what the previous months did.

I have a chem test in a few minutes, of which none of what I need to know is sticking in my brain. Why?

I had youtube up on my computer...and was playing the playlist of mine that has just BigBang, Taeyang solo, and TOP solo videos. One of which has Taeyang taking his shirt off. I wonder why I couldn't retain anything...every single time I looked up Taeyang or TOP was on the screen. Granted it was mostly for Taeyang. TOP just isn't as hot in my opinion (though he is still hot).

I can't wait for Assorted Gems this weekend and I am so behind on LY1000x but that is okay.

Happy Friday, JB!

Red Cliff = we watched this movie last night and I have to say, it is a very, very good movie. The non-Asia version of the movie (cut down by 90 mins from the 2 part Asia version), lacks a bit of heart, but still better than 98% of the movies that are out there.

Takeshi Kaneshiro and Tony Leung.... wow.

Are there k movie/drama actors who have similar 'presence' (however the word is defined) as these two?

I wish they could do a cross-over or two.

@samsooki: OMG, I LOVE TONY LEUNG! I don't care that he could be my father, but is he an amazing, diverse, charismatic, deep, artistic actor or what?! And Takeshi - *sigh* - enough said. lols. Did you watch both parts in one go? Must have been great like that - I had to wait a year for the second part, sorta ruined the flow somewhat, but still good nonetheless. And of course, I've liked Vicki since her "Princess Returning Pearls" days, so this movie was a must watch for me.

@pabo ceo reom: How about some Smile You ringtones? ^_^ Available at Cococrust Repository.

Gosh, so hyper today. Can't seem to wait for SY this weekend, it's going to be wonderful. *sigh* *happy grin* Smilers, where are you guys?

Good morning and happy friday my fellow OTers! :P

TGIF indeedy! Work has been exhausting and draining, but thankfully I had my 2 eps of YB as well as Autumn's Concerto to keep me happy. Gotta wait for more IRIS eps before I can start watching again. Thank you so much to JB for your wonderful recaps - dono how I would get through YB without you.

Today is the Tree Lighting at Fashion Island so i'm excited - it'll be a nice low-key kinda weekend - with the exception of the "twihards" that i will most definitely and unfortunately encounter tonight at New Moon.

gah. i need coffee. stat.

@9, Kgrl -

No, it was on cable... HDNet... so I saw the subtiled (very good subtitles!) single 2.5 hour version, not the two-part 4 hour Asia version, which I want to see now.

@13 blue_star -

Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro.... gotta give considerable props to both, not just for their venerable body of work, but because they are very good, still, right now.

If you have a chance, Red Cliff is a great movie to watch.

- Plenty of action (think.... Lord of the Rings, Two Towers-ish, on that kind of scale, with huge armies battling each other)

- Plenty of real, honest to goodness acting (can't say enough about both Tony and Taekshi..., and the newcomer who played the wife of Tony Leung's character... it was her first film ever and she was brilliant)

- Gorgeous costumes, period pieces, cinematography was off-the-charts, certain parts of China are definitely among the most beautiful places on earth...

- Happy-ish ending?

to quote a few dramabeans denizens, and to use current parlance, I lurved it.

I was very excited for the Twilight movie last year, my friends and I even camped out at our local cinema to catch the midnight showing. But after finishing all the books, it seems that New Moon is nothing compared to Twilight in terms of story and characters. It seems that Myer just dragged the story out so painfully just to keep the whole series long, plus New Moon seems like an excuse to root for Jacob because Edward - - - -major spoiler - - - - !)

Well I am gong to watch New Moon still though, but probably next week when I am not busy anymore with pre Thanksgiving homework.

Now to all the people who live in America, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR THIS YEAR?

Of course I am thankful for my family and friends with their love and good health. I am thankful I have a good job. Lastly...

Thank the heavens for YAB!!!! It is my dose of happiness every day. Although YAB is on its final week, I am still grateful for knowing this drama. It has given me such pleasure and excitement this past 2 months watching it, sharing our thoughts with fellow fans. As someone has posted on soompi, I don't know who it is but kudos to that person!

I heard/read a lot about Red Cliff 1 & 2, and received a DVD copy(Part 1) from my dad, but have not yet watched it. My dad said is very good. He even went to the theatre with my mom to watch Part 2 as well. My mom said the movie is too violent and the girl is not pretty. My dad said the lead actress is very pretty!!

Red Cliff I and II - awesome movies! I liked RCII a little more because the naval battle was just jawdroppingly spectacular. I forced my husband and both of my sons to watch them with me (first time for them, like the 5th time for me, LOL). They usually flat-out refuse to watch anything with subtitles but both of these movies got a thumbs up afterward.

Figures we'd have a big Takeshi Kaneshiro discussion just days after I renounced my claim to him. :-D And Tony Leung...I don't know who could compare to him, really. The man is a god. I could watch him talk to inanimate objects for hours.

@16 Agent Darwin -

There are two actresses who stood out in this movie -

Zhao Wei, who plays the tomboy-ish battle-tested princess, and
Lin Chi-ling, who plays Tony Leung's fiercely loyal, intelligent and elegant wife.

This is Zhao Wei: http://www.cinaoggi.it/cinema/filmografie/vicki-zhao-wei.jpg

This is Lin Chi-Ling (in her Red Cliff role): http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-09/28/xin_21209042816494682576227.jpg

Both are very beautiful, imo.

@ samsooki

Now you got me curious about Red Cliff. See, I've been avoiding the movie (but know I must watch with hubby, it's his cut of tea) for the following reasons, and some of which appear to be in direct contrast to your review (and I trust your review - I'm explain why below):

1. I read the source material - and apparently John Woo took many, many liberties with the facts as chronicled - I'm becoming more okay with this, just coming to realized that loosely based on the Record of the Three Kingdoms is fine by me. JW admits it, so I'm cool with that.

2. Tony Leung - I love Tony with a twenty year commitment, so it's not his acting I'm concerned with - I've heard that he doesn't have the stature, height, or presence physically to essay the character. This doesn't bother me as well - hey, there are smaller generals in this world that win wars.

3. Lin Chi-ling - okay, this was the dealkiller for me - she plays TL's wife, this is her first acting gig - and every single Chinese newspapers and reviewer have rounding panned her acting and, worse, her speaking! She has a really soft, girlish, cutesy voice, and you can imagine what that's like in this type of movie. The backlash was so bad, the production DUBBED her voice for the second movie, which almost never happens. So, I'm thinking you got the completely dubbed version of her, so it sounds fine. But I have to say I'm still skeptical - because I've seen LCL everywhere - she is Taiwan's #1 supermodel - so if you had told me that Ang Lee cast Gisele Bundchen in the role of Gertrude for his remake of Hamlet, the general reaction would be the same here. However, I trust your review - so I'm off to find Red Cliff to watch over Thanksgiving with the family. Oh, and I love Zhao Wei - she's the perfect Chuong Yao heroine, peppy and adorable.

Thanks for the review, samsooki.

I got my YB OST in the mail - hmmmm, cradling to my chest in contentment.

@17 Layla -

are there any dramas or movies in which the main girl is shy/quiet/secretive but still really sweet and kind? i’m sick of watching dramas where the main character is ‘fiesty’ and loud, she just gets on my nerves nowadays

Lessee...

1. Perhaps Eugene, in her role as the hardworking and honest daughter of an inn-keeper, who has to try to win back the heart of a man who loved her but lost his memory (twice) in Save The Last Dance For Me, in which my KJH (yessss MY Kang Ji Hwan) plays a minor role of a kindly doctor who doesn't end up getting the girl, in favor of the main girl (Eugene)'s love interest? Aside from the... umm, cliche amnesia events, this is actually quite enjoyable to watch.

2. Perhaps Choi Jin Shil, in The Last Scandal of my Life, in her very last role, as a single mother, who can barely support herself and her daughter, who finds herself in a secretive relationship with her first love, who happens to have become a major movie star. Highly recommended, well-done by Choi Jin Shil to balance comedic elements and elements of the heart.

3. Perhaps Chae-Rim, in the very funny and very poignant Dal Ja's Spring, where she plays the role of a producer of a home shopping network show, who finds herself struggling to balance her career, her friends, her workmates, her mother, her grandmother, and the secret-ish love of her life who happens to be a bit younger than she is.... If there was a drama to be watched, to understand, perhaps, a little bit more about the psyche of the contemporary Korean female, perhaps this is the drama to watch.

4. Perhaps Kim Min Jung, in New Heart, where is plays a quiet doctor who has as her love, the impish doctor Ji Sung? This is a slightly different kind of drama, where there are no love triangles, fewer cliches than normal, perhaps, but after about 8 or 9 episodes, this drama really starts to take off once the Kim Min Jung / Ji Sung relationship gets going...

5. Perhaps Sung Yuri, in Snow Queen, where she plays a lonely rich girl who has been sick and in and out of hospitals all her life, who has loved but one person, and who finds that person again, destroyed by a fateful day, and this drama tries to explore the question of whether the love of ill fated persons are stronger than the most difficult of obstacles that people must face. Even more than HGD, I think this really draws out Sung Yuri's acting ability, and her and my Binnie do a fantastic job together. Well done.

:D

Ohhh Tony Leung I just rewatched "In the mood for love" the other night because it was on TV. I have to say I love it more this time around than when I saw it at the movie theater oh so long ago. He is such an eye actor and I love the way he smokes.

Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro always makes me think of Chungking Express. I loved that movie to bits as a teen. Faye Wong was my early Im Soo Jung. If I can say I've ever had a girl crush it is Faye Wong and Im soo Jung

I'm glad YAB is nearly over in the beginning it renewed my faith in fluffy Kdramas but as time's gone on Mi Nam's stupidity and constant need to be rescued has became more and more annoying.

Is there a drama out there where the naive accident prone female lead smartens up and is able to rescue herself? Anything?

Maybe RL is preventing me from finding this character type charming, I didn't mind it when I first started watching dramas.

I'm bringing over a topic from previous Open Thread

@ Langdon & Samsookie
Langdon: Let me ask y’all something – in anticipation of Chuno I thought I should acquaint myself with Jang Hyuk. Recommendations? I watched the first ep of Thank You on Dramafever tonight (didn’t shed a single tear…hmm).

"Samsookie: Well, “Thank You” is one of those, you gotta get into the drama to care about it, dramas. Melodramas are a burden to watch sometimes, you are just waiting around to cry, lol."

I second Thank You. One of my top 10 favorite kdramas of all time and one of Jang Hyuk's better works since his acting isn't always great. It sounds depressing and takes some commitment but I really loved it and I don't believe I shed a single tear either but I loved it.

@samsooki: Have you seen Lust, Caution with Tony? I have yet to see it, but I've promised myself that this holiday season, I've MUST watch it. He's my favorite actor, along with Johnny Depp, and I have to pay homage to my idols.
I think LCL’s portrayal was propped up by her role and the directing, but she still did a good job in her first movie. As for Vicki, she was my first passionate drama character love, so I’ve been loyal to this first love for about a decade. I think she’s more beautiful in personality than her looks.

@Layla: Hmm, that’s a hard one. Feisty, sassy female leads have been hugely popular the last several years. The only good ones that are coming to mind are mostly sageuks, Return of Iljimae, New Heart, or Chinese period dramas that showcase demure (soft) but extremely strong-will females. Japanese dramas have many sweet, soft-spoken female leads as it’s culturally more accessible, i.e. Absolute Boyfriend, Liar Game, even Hana Yori Dango was much more muted than the K version. I’m personally watching Liar Game 2, though not for the female lead, but for the plotline.

@Ockoala: LCL actually did her role justice. But I would suggest watching both parts in one go – more transitional that way. And Vicki is great in here as the sassy, resilient, comical female heroine. I’m excited for Vicki’s new Mulan movie – I hope it’s worth the hype. I know they had to film in the desert and harsh conditions for 3 months.

@25 Siren: Yes, emotionally weak female leads bother me as well, unless the acting and circumstances redeem the character for me. Honestly, most of the female leads out there today are pretty independent. Try “My Queen” – it’s funny and pretty smart. The lead actress got Best Actress Award for this role.

17 - I'm watching "Don't Hesitate" right now and it's right up your alley. The main girl is super sweet to the point where she'll donated a part of her liver to her boyfriend~ and that's not even the end of it.....it's crazy.

I don't know if you've ever watched Jdramas, but they have characters like that so I'll recommend those since I'm sure alot of others will recommend Korean dramas here: Mei-chan no Shitju, Buzzer Beat, Innocent Love, Nobuta wo Produce.

Also recommend TWdrama - Fated to Love You (this one actually fits your description for female lead well~)

Happy Friday Everyone:-)

To all the ppl who kept talking about Autumn's Concerto in the OT's - Thank you:-)

Started watching Autumn's Concerto (My first TW drama) to sort of pull my self out of the YB pit.Unfortunately it has become a case of 'from the frying pan and into the fire' situation. It's a drama filled with cliches but has managed to hook me in. I guess Vanness has something to do with it.The dialogues are so beautiful without being too cheesy. Also the second guy lead is so likable in this one. Most of the second leads are stuck in such boring, monotonous roles. This guy seems to be diff in way that I still can't still put my finger on it.Looking forward to the next episode. The soundtrack is also amazing.Love the background music. All for love by Victor W is just too awesome.

Ah how can I post without mentioning YB.I wonder how they're going to tie up all the loose ends and hopefully give us a happy ending without seeming too rushed within the next 2 episodes.I would be so disappointed if the drama ended on a lacklustre note.So keeping my fingers crossed.I wish Yong-hwa would use his eyes more often to convey emotions.Thats why he really sparkled in the 'shoe scene'.But compared to Jang Geun-seok and Lee Hong-ki , he still seems lacking in something in the acting department.Guess maybe since it's his first acting role?

I think you cross the thin line between being a casual viewer and a drama addict when you start to learn actors/actresses' names that you can barely pronounce, much less remember. Then you start watching subbed interviews and strain your ears to catch the correct pronunciation of their names.

Anyways I'm ever so grateful to You tube for opening doors into worlds I never knew existed.Ignorance is not always bliss:-)

Hmmm think I'll try Hana Yori Dango next.

javabeans,

i just have to say, you made my tiring day bearable with your ep 14 recap of yab. you're a wonder. just this afternoon, i was sitting in a restaurant with my boss, a feminist...we're in for a stay in 2 day consultation for a research. while she was having lunch, i logged in and read your recaps. it was hilarious. i was there across the table, reading from my laptop. looking at my boss expectantly and trying to pretend that i was listening to her when all the while, i was reading your recaps. it was so difficult to keep myself from squeeling or from smiling like an idiot.

we then had a 12 hour consultation session, but i survived. just because I had a dose of my fave drug. God bless you. you're making a lot of difference in your fans' lives.

*first post in the open thread, have been a lurker for so long. nice meeting everybody.:D

@Siren - Thank goodness someone else brought that up too! I mean seriously, I was raised in a happy bubble too, but MN acts like she was raised in Mr. Roger's Neighborhood...and even then they must've restricted to her to the land of MakeBelieve. Wake up and smell the beans girl! *aiyeesh* Thank goodness for my dose of Jung-In (from Smile, You). Returns my faith in girls. if you'd enjoy a girl that's frank and isn't afraid to speak her mind, but still sweet/cute in a non-obnoxious way, I'd *highly* recommend that series.

i have a love-hate relationship for Fated to Love You. There were definitely sweet scenes that I like, but overall TDramas have never given me that "ah" feeling of satisfaction when watching them.

Anyone here watching the American comedy show Glee? I heart it *so* much...satisfies the inner choir-geek in me. ^^ I knew it'd be fun, but I never expected it to pull a heartstring in me too. The last ep (when the father stood up for his son) reduced me to a blubbering mess.

Hellooo~ Happy Friday! :D

My Friday's are bittersweet since I have class Saturdays. Bummer. I know.
Anyway, I've been looking for something to get me through my YB withdrawal period and was hoping for suggestions?

Looks like Ana's starting Autumn's Concerto and although my first Asian drama was a TW drama (Meteor Shower) I'm still a little hesitant. My mom still watches a lot of TW dramas and when I watch with her, they just don't catch my interest like the used to. I feel like their too cliched and a bit dragging. But I'm keeping my mind open, anyone else besides Vaness care to change my mind? I hear he has a lot of uhm.. convincing *cough-shower-cough* scenes..

@ nycgrl and samsooki

Thanks guys! I'm a world champion cryer, so that doesn't bother me. I was just surprised that I didn't even get a lump in my throat when I fully expected to be a wreck (death of major character's first love, child with AIDS, all the ingredients were there, but nothing). Could have just been my crappy mood yesterday too; I wasn't feeling sympathetic towards much of anything. ;-)

@27, Kgrl

Lust, Caution is such a fantastic film but I felt unbelievably depressed after I watched it. Of course, this is kind of the point, since it endeavors to show just how low human beings can sink, for whatever reason; patriotism, love, desire, power...or lust. People who think this movie is only about sex are so missing the point, and it drives me insane. If there's a gun pointed at your head then you know you're being threatened...but when someone offers up no defense, no resistance, how would you recognize that that act is in itself the strongest weapon that could be used against you? What happens when you're faced with mercy?

I have such a love/hate relationship with Ang Lee films because it takes me weeks to get over them. I've seen Brokeback Mountain only once all the way through (at the theater, where I embarrassed my friends by sobbing uncontrollably during the movie, after the movie, all the way to the car, LOL). I've tried to watch it a couple of times since and I just cannot do it. I've pretty much come the to conclusion that Ang Lee hates me.

On a much happier note, after Ninja Assassin, THIS is the movie I'm most dying to see:

Thanks Samsooki for the link. I know the first girl, she used to act in some sort of princess role. Few years back when I used to visit China alot, I saw her almost every night on TV. Having been reminded of Kimi wa Petto by your posting the other day, I went on a Matsumoto Jun watching marathon - well, with a small offshoot into Hana Kimi to show that to a teenager. (not to worry folks, I am stuck in front of the computer working on finishing something necessary but incredibly tedious).

I ended up watching Smile yesterday, which I had not watched before due to the general subject matter. Woosh! That boy can ACT! Still not my favorite kind of series, but wow.

I'm going to third Thank You. This was what I was watching when my original source of addiction went away, the late lamented AZN network. I had been sucked in quietly, and was just at the point where I couldn't just leave it and had to track it down online.

BTW, Verizon FIOS is supposed to have SBS added sometime this month to their Korea package. I happen to know that currently they are showing the show that came in the YB timeslot right before YB came on. I keep checking the channel to see if it's switched over to SBS, hoping that if YB comes on I'll get to watch again. 8-)

@yenchan

GLEE is the only US show I actually watch, I watch a couple of BBC shows, but that's about it. In fact, I keep telling people that the only 2 shows to have made me fall over laughing in a long time were GLEE (the football team dancing scene) and YB.

@38 Kender -

Hi Kender! LTNS!!! (i'm not sure if that's a real acronym, but it stands for long time no see - if i am the first to use it, i hereby trademark it (Samsooki TM)).

Has anyone ever tried online dating? My friend and I signed up for a site as a joke two weeks ago, but she’s already had three dates (and many more offers), and I have one date tomorrow night and another over Thanksgiving break (although I’m still not sure if it’s a date or just a friendly meet-up) with two really awesome guys. I’m super super excited, and I’m having trouble thinking about anything else today.

Make sure you have a pre-arranged cell phone call at two specific times (one about 10 mins into the date, and one about an hour in).

If the date is going well, then you can either ignore the cell phone call or quickly hang up.

If the date is going poorly, then start acting really surprised and say something like,

"OMG, really?!?"

Then, to your date - "I have to go. family emergency. Sorry! rain check!"

*poof* you are free.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you americans readers. I was going to cross the border to do some shopping because you have fantastics sales, but my credit card debt made me think twice. So I'll have to settle for just attending a local japanese christmas craft and bake sale to satisfy my shopping cravings.

Anyone have the City Hall dvd? My local supplier can't seem to get it yet. I was hoping it would tide me over until the current crop of favourite kdramas would be available.

So instead, I am delving into the cyberpunk world and discovering some really cool movies. Also rewatching stuff like Blade Runner and the Matrix trilogy. I've been having some really weird dreams lately.

So many fun groups exist on OT (with plenty of overlap and no entrance requirements):

1. ICOMYM
2. City Hallers
3. Smilers
4. Chunojammas
5. Islanders (and its much more ajumma-ish subset - Team Park Kyu!)
6. YB Addicts
7. TWCM or "Those who call "mine" (and its progenitor - KHWIM ("Kang Ji-hwan is Mine")
8. Drool Club
9. Swoon Team
10. BRA or "Baby Rain's aunties"

Did I miss any?

@ all4movies

You can watch City Hall with english subs at Dramafever.com (it just got added recently). Enjoy the CH journey.

@ the issue of crying

I NEVER cry - sorry, the sentimental one is ockoala hubby, though he doesn't cry in movies either - most k-drama melodramas, I laugh and let out a sigh of relief at the pivotal cry-inducing scenes (Winter Sonata, AIMH, Stairway to Heaven, Beautiful Days, any of the oldies - laughed through them).

Only drama I can recall that made me cry is - Tamra the Island. City Hall - I shed tears of joy (metaphorically).

@ langdon813

It takes a lot for me to cry. The nearest I get is I feel a little teary but no floodgates. My sister on the other hand will cry at a drop of a dime watching even commercials. She cried watching the "English Patient" at the movie theater and continued to cry in the car and back at home and she was so upset I didn't think it was that touching enough to cry. I told her later I actually disliked the movie except for Juliet Binoche's performance which pissed her off even more.

"Love, Lust, Caution" was one of those films I dreaded watching kind of like "Schindler's list". You feel as a movie lover and because of its subject matter you need to watch it but the subject matter is so heavy it feels more like an obligation. That said I wound up enjoying the cinematography, story and acting and I also learned a lot about Chinese political history and culture but I probably can't watch it again. Also anyone who watches this movie for the sex scenes--I don't know what to say since to me it was more brutal than anything sexy.

@44 samsooki - *waves* Hallo~~~ Hahaha I know. I did that for my roommate on all three of her dates, so now it's her turn to do it with me.

@46 ockoala - Team Park Gyu is ajumma-ish?? But..but..he's so BEAUTIFUL and PERFECT. *Q* And last I checked, I was nowhere near ajumma status. :P

And now I should get ready to go to my Chinese class. We're having a food party tonight, so I can't skip class even for sleep if I want to be able to get free Chinese food tonight. :P Mmmmm, baozi..

Shhhh...
I actually brought my laptop at work and hiding in the back office ( don't laugh @reluctantbutaddicted ;) I can't wait til late tonight to watch the subbed version of YB epi 14, so...here I am.

Happy OT Friday everyone...I think this is the first time I'm not spending 2 hours reading the OT and getting on the posting when it's in the 100's or sometime the 200's...and before I forget, I have to say this to everyone:

Since it is near the season of giving thanks, I want to say how much I appreciate my new "friends and family" here in Dramabeans:
* JB what and how can I thank you enough? You are God sent. Your site is well written, intelligent and warm & fuzzy the same time. I can't even begin to show how appreciative of all for your hard work (recaps and discussions). If you haven't heard it today, a big THANK YOU from one of your humbled readers/loyal followers.

*Samsooki
I know we barely know each other (it's only been 3 months for me), but I'm glad to meet you (and your family) here. I respect your witty opinions and suggestions and of course the (friendly)bantering that go on here. Like others who have written earlier, I often look for your opinions/analysis before I "jump" into certain drama/movie....(I adore Tony Leung even before he was a "Somebody"...he just came out of TVB training classes)

***all my dearest "girlfriends" here in OT ( @langdon813, @ockoala,@ hjkomo (my special Cal sis),@ lovenyc52,@simplesim (my new kdrama script discussion partner), @reluctantbutaddicted and many, many more...
I love all you guys...I love how we all understand each other so well even though we are strangers to each other( all female professionals who are still trying really hard to balance EVERYTHING)....I love how we all have "the same hubby", and how we share our own little ways to deal with our dear spouses, and how THEY deal with our (quirky) drama addiction. I especially want to thank @langdon813 for starting ICOMYM, so that I can "justify" why and how I feel about my (secret) Korean Manrem ;)

I could go on, but I started to feel like I'm giving the acceptance speech for my Oscar award....I can see the "guy" waving his hands to tell me to stop....so have a happy Friday and if not later tonight, I will see you guys next week (double shift next week plus Thanksgiving dinner at my house...I even have to wait til NEXT Sun to see YB finale) :(

@47 nycgrl - You should try watching 'Hotel Rwanda'.I think that movie has the power to make anyone cry. It made a 'stony-hearted' person like me so teary eyed that I couldn't even pretend that I had gotten a sudden cold.
