Kim Ji-hoon holds his first Japanese fanmeeting
by javabeans
It comes as something of a surprise, but actor Kim Ji-hoon will be holding his first solo fanmeeting in Japan, to take place on the 13th in Osaka.
The event comes by invitation of KJNET, who said, “This was organized because we’ve had continuous requests to set up a fanmeeting with Kim Ji-hoon. His popularity is high enough to count him as a next-generation Hallyu star.” Kim has been studying Japanese and plans to sing a few songs at the event, including the theme song from his movie Crying out Love from the Center of the World and the Yoon Do-hyun Band’s “I Must Have Loved You.”
Compared to other Hallyu stars, it’ll be a smaller affair, with 800 fans in attendance. He was last in Japan in August to promote his romantic-comedy series Love & Marriage, which gained him additional fans on the heels of the Japanese broadcasts of his other dramas Why Did You Come To Our House and Golden Age of the Daughter-in-Law.
I say it’s a little surprising because although Kim Ji-hoon has had a good number of roles (both leading and supporting), he hasn’t really had his big break and his profile is still in middle ground somewhere. I also think he has yet to really prove himself as a strong actor — his pretty looks have definitely helped him get cast — although I did really love him as the cool, assured Eun-tak in Flowers For My Life. I’m still waiting for him to break out and show what he’s made of. I think he’s got it in him somewhere…

Yes, I hope you're right, javabeans. I think he has it in him as well because as Eun-tak (aka Mr. Sexy Bedroom Eyes) he was great! Love Flowers For My Life!

I like this guy, too! It's good that his fanbase is expanding.
I requested a photo of him on my birthday card -- created by my co-worker who's clueless about Korean entertainment -- along with Gong Yoo and Yoon Kye Sang, but I got Kim Hyun Joong instead. My taste wouldn't have been questioned if she got it right. :(
@Jacq - Oh no! You've mistaken him as Kim Joon. :D

This oppa will definitely go far. He's got the looks and he can really act. Speaking of good actors, I'd like to see him work with Kang Ji Hwan, Gong Yoo, Hyun and Won Bin, or even his look-a-like Kwon Sang Woo. They could play brothers or something.

I'm happy for him. He was really good in Flowers for my life and Why did you come to our house is on my to-watch list (I thought the first ep was hilaaaarious. Clichéd, nothing terribly original, but it was nice). I'm waiting for his big breakthrough myself. I think he's great potential.
Thanks JB for this!

Haha...I was just talking about him today...using his post-shower scene from Love Marriage as an example of how to explain Korea's other definition of "chocolate". :P

He's so cute! I wish he'd be casted in something that I'd actually be interested to watch... The only thing I've seen him in is Why Did You Come To My House, which switched abruptly from comedy to melodrama at the halfway mark and became an absolute trainwreck.
