Hero premiere postponed a week
by javabeans
After lead actress Kim Min-jung dropped out and Yoon So-yi was brought in to replace her, MBC’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama Hero only had a week till its premiere to reshoot with its new lead, making for an impossible undertaking. Thankfully, broadcaster MBC has decided to go ahead and delay the launch of the show by a week: it will now premiere on November 18.
A source with the production said, “We’d tried hard to make the premiere as scheduled for November 11, but inevitably the broadcast has been pushed back a week. With Yoon So-yi coming in to replace Kim Min-jung, filming is currently going in full force.”
A source from MBC said, “Even though the female lead has changed several times, Lee Junki and the other cast members have not been shaken by it and have quietly worked on their own acting, which has given MBC and the producers encouragement. In particular, Lee Junki, who has been preparing for the past year for Hero, has become absorbed in his acting without being thrown into confusion over the female lead changing twice, focusing on the team and bolstering support.”
I’m of two minds about this: (1) Thank goodness! and (2) MBC, if you’re going to postpone it a week anyway, why not do yourself a favor and make it two? Surely the production needs the time more than you do.

ugh...so there really wasn't any point in cutting Heading to the Ground twice then...*thud*...if it had stayed at 18 episodes, it would've been perfect in order to give Hero an extra week....aish.

Yeah, a week should be good enough (rolls eyes) I hope I don't hear about any actors suffering from fatigue in this project.....

Lee Jun Ki is such a cutie and not a bad actor at all! I didn't see it as much in My Girl (my attention was diverted elsewhere) but the above picture is a great one of him! :)

18 is still better than 11 nov. i'm glad they delay the premiere date. Junki may feel pressured and frustated but don't show it to anyone cause he's the main actor. I wish him and drama team work smoothly withour any further problems. there must be some flaws about transition in drama because of rushing shooting. but it's ok. i understand the situation.
HERO fighting !! :)

Yikes, does this mean that there's no more hope for watching the cut episodes of Tamra and Strike Love? This is bad news!!!!

@ majata
As much as we would have loved to watch cut episodes of Strike Love, Tamra - I think JB was being snarky in her comment. Strike Love and Tamra was not cute whole episodes at a time, i.e. four episodes removed completely. Scenes were cute in order to trim off 4 episodes worth of material and condense the entire show into 16 rather than 20 episodes. As such, there is no way to air the cut material, it's just scenes here and there. However, Tamra is getting all the deleted scenes back in a Director's Cut DVD, I am so excited and can't wait.
I'm still hoping for Hero to be a good drama, it doesn't have to be great, but a good enjoyable drama with Junki is always on my to-watch list.

MBC needs to do right by this drama. As anxious as I am to see, because, well, I'm in...um, let's just call it "love" with Lee Jun ki, I want it to well.

I really want to watch this drama but rather wait for the sake of not pushing them (especially Lee Jun Ki) over the edge.

wow...LJK has been preparing for the role for the past year, and the new leading actress...for a week? I hope this will not be another MBC drama that will get cut before its intended run.
This must be so stressful for the cast and production crew--under pressure from MBC to get good ratings...else...slash/cut...it hurts!
Good luck to Hero!
