I must admit. I haven't been a LBH fan. But his recent work is winning me over. I totally didn't expect much from G.I. Joe, but he was pretty good. I was stunned. Iris looks great as well. He was pretty cute acting his "younger days". I only thought he would produce hard faces, but his smile and wink blew me away. I'm not a full fan yet, but I'm looking forward to good stuff to get me across the line.

LBH is not just a pretty face, he adds a lot of depth and emotion to whatever character he plays :)

IRIS and ICWTR debuted back-to-back last week -- more Byunghun treat!

Funny bit about filming ICWTR - the lovescene with the leading lady who's also the director's wife - catching him by surprise as the husband urging BH to "do much more".

Ok, I admit that I never a fan of LBH but I admired his acting. He truly a talented actor. His first and only piece of work I ever watch is Once In A Summer. I love he can bring a simple or cliche character and make it unforgettable roles. That LBH. That what we called a true actor no matter we are a fan or not.

Joe was my first Lee Byung-heon encounter, and I immediately fell for his expressive eyes (and...I have to admit, he was also HOT), which is why I started Iris a few days ago. I'm very impressed and am looking forward to more, especially since it feels like an action movie rather than a typical k-drama.

Needless to say, I'm a fan now! And when I become a fan, I become a pretty big one. :)

Wow - Josh Harnett photographs pretty darn well... looking fine. I think he ended up with better poses and angles than LBH. I am also not a fan of LBH but I have seen a lot of his works and I think they are ok. I do want to see this movie to see what its about.

He has always been rather nonchalant about his IQ but we can see/sense how smart he is, very articulate person in interviews that you'd just love reading his thoughts on stuff.. movies especially. But didn't know that he finished first in class. That is awesome sharing.. always love when fans talk like this, we sure learn something new every day. Cool! ^^

i come with the rain is supposed to be over the top violence and gore, with alot of catholic symbolism thrown in (kinda like an italian spaghetti western) . i'm not a big fan of gore but i might watch it anyways because i'm curious and because i like odd art films.

I've been waiting for this movie for over 2 years. What a major disappointment if the buzz from the festival circuit is true. I do like Tran Anh Hung's Green Papaya and have high hope of this one with KT, LBH, Shawn Yue..... Will still have to see it.

Oops.. I might have worded it wrongly but the leading lady in the movie is the Director's own wife. And BH finding it quite funny / weird and obviously awkward at first to act intimate lovescenes in front of the director-hubby. Not only that..as their (director + wife) children and mom were also there at the set.

But being professionals.. the actor followed the director's cue to give the scene his best. ^^

I don't have a crush on Josh Hartnett, but I do have a crush on his eyes, if that makes any sense...

I honestly didn't get why people call him good looking because he's not. I used to think that LBH was a pouty man whose life was miserable. I'm not a fan of LBH but I notice that he can act, he put depth and emotion in his scenes and his movie seemed believable for me, but still don't get why girls are making such a big fuss about him. But after learning that he's actually smart, he suddenly scored hundreds of points. He's smexy! nothing sexier than an intelligent guy. And the good thing is he didn't blab too much about making his Hollywood mark but he did it very well, unlike Rain who already talked million times about it but the outcome was nothing but a disappointment.

And the fact that he has perfect rock-hard abs it wouldn't hurt either :)

I didn't make that association. However, LBH has been recognized by directors for picking up languages quickly.

What makes his English so surprisingly good is that his English-speaking accent is very regional, such that I'd think he's from Southern California. Unless he actually lived in the States for awhile, you just don't expect that kind of awareness and command of regional intonation.

This is the first I'm reading about LBH being a miserable man. I thought he's exactly the opposite with such a positive outlook, more open-minded (career-wise) and extremely hardworking attitude that probably drives everyone crazy. He was brought up in well-to-do family whose businessman father suddenly passed away (direct or indirectly related) during the economic crisis that hit the world badly in the late 90s and the family suffered a lot of debts. He got an early exemption from the military service to pay up all the debts by working hard taking much commercial and projects he could. He had a "downtime" being blacklisted in the movie industry but he never retreated. And so he had one failed relationship that hurt him a lot but that doesn't make him dwelling in misery.. He displayed such memorable tv performances that brought much attention to Kdramas in particular but it's after A Bittersweet Life in 2005 that he's just moving forward & better every time. Sure..some projects may suck (it happens to everyone) but he wouldn't be getting rave acting points if he isn't harworking and true to his talent.. Totally & definitely agree that he is pretty smart for an actor and very savvy, too.^^ GI Joe may be a bland movie but Storm Shadow sure is hot commodity now. It gets him known in a lot more places and fans checking him in out in IRIS will surely be blown away by LBH. ^^

Btw, I'm not flaming anyone (hope no one is offended) .. just indulging my curiousity..

And that's the thing. LBH may be a genius and all that, but he wasn't born a great actor. His work ethic also reflects that often he had to carry SBS event dramas, which often had A-list budget, but C-list writing.

I've seen some of his 90s work, and for the most part, little of it actually makes you think "wow, this guy is going to be great." Most of us have been introduced to the work when he was already a finished product. And even then, you can see leaps in his acting from Beautiful Days to All In, and All In to Iris. He's always improving.

I saw Josh in London at a play “Rain Man” (character Charlie Babbitt) and was amazing,also he’s surprising in “Mozart and the Whale”(character with Asperger’s syndrome ) as manipulative boy in “O” and in movies as August and Lucky Number Slevin

@40....oh, I know many people that are fluent in English but haven't lived in the US, lol. What makes me go "wow" with him is his accent! He speaks West Coast perfectly. If I didn't know who he was I'd assume he was a native speaker and just a little shy. So that's why it's easy to assume he must have lived in the US, rather than New Zealand, for example. His accent is spot-on flawless. That he *hasn't* lived in California makes his accent even more remarkable.

Many of my friends speak English well, but it's immediately clear that they're foreign. Which isn't a bad thing at all, btw. In fact...hehehe.

i first encountered LBH in his drama ALL IN...boy he was so so good.....he's not the typical pretty boy type of actor.....he's one seasoned actor with tons of charisma and character and flavour.

he acts with a conviction ....i fell in love with his acting ..when i saw him in GI Joe....he's just amazing.....no doubt he is definitely one of the really cool actors from Korea.

He's also very sexy and mysterious......

It's quite a mystery to me that this is called a Josh Hartnet film. He leaves me cold. He is not on the same acting level as Lee Byung Hun OR Taluya Kimura. They both are wonderful in their approach to acting and give all their effort to make the character important to the film. Hartnet is a Hollywood 'type'. Not a star in my opinion. My opinion....
I am really looking forward to seeing 'I Come with the Rain' because I adore Kimura san and I greatly admire Lee Byung Hun from his past films and dramas.
Lee was also in Kimura's film 'HERO' and they know one another and get along well. Kimura plays a very difficult role. Not a lot of extended scenes but the ones I have scene were compelling. His acting was profound even in a short clip.
Yes Lee is a good linguist. He has a good intellectual background as well as immense work ethic. He did have harsh treatment from actress who was latching on to his bright star. Shame on her...silence from the gentleman.Bravo
I agree with the remark about Kimura looking young. He has a way of doing that when he wants to and it is not makeup for sure this time. He just knows how to concentrate I think. It's all in his mind and it works.
