Jung Woo-sung sets his sights on directing
by javabeans
Add Jung Woo-sung (The Good, The Bad, The Weird) to the list of actors who are seeking to branch out into directing (Yoo Ji-tae and Gu Hye-sun are two who have already put out directorial work). He explained in a recent interview that he had been intending to make his directorial debut for years, but kept pushing it back. To date, Jung has finished three screenplays in the action genre, and plans to take either a lead or a prominent supporting role as well as directing the feature. He is even considering casting close friends to keep the budget down, as he could rely on them to act without pay.
Who would agree to do that? “[Lee] Jung-jae in particular will have to act for free,” he said with a laugh. The two are good friends, and acted together in the 1999 film City of Rising Sun.
Jung is currently promoting his latest film, Rainy Season aka Season of Good Rain. He hopes to film his directorial debut project next year.

I wish I could contribute an intelligent observation, but "DAMN, HE'S SO HOT" is about the best I can come up with.
"Lee Jung-jae in particular will have to act for free". HA!!
Now I have to go find City of Rising Sun...thanks JB!!

Wahhhhhh, JUNG WOO-SUNG! *faints* *revives self* *faints again* *groggy*
Thanks for the heart attack Monday morning, JB, no really, I'm not being facetious, thank you, thank you, thank you.
I've discovered the world needs more pictures, articles, movies, posters, anything with JWS. I can totally see him transitioning to acting-directing, he's got so much movie experience with great directors and projects under his belt, he's bound to have thought about directing at some point and picked up pointers.
And if Lee Jung-jae acts for free with JWS, I'll pay double just to watch it. Those posters of JWS and LJJ for D'Urban are *speechless now*. =-)

Musa was my first Korean film if I remember correctly and I remember preferring Jo Jin Mo to him because his character annoyed me with his big spear. He has the charisma of a star and I like him a lot but I have yet to see a really amazing film of his. The Restless was so corny with the bad guy sitting in a jacuzzi kind of throne and the leading lady was really annoying. All she did was make bug eyes. Daisy was so so...I preferred the other guy and the sassy girl didn't really set the screen on fire. He looks good in The Good, Bad and the Weird but all I can remember is LBH as the sexy badass.

@ Sonam
Check out "A Moment to Remember", I was referred by other DBers, and have since become a JWS convert. Plus, Son Ye-jin is his leading lady, and she's luminous on-screen.
I watched TGTBTW for Lee Byung-hun, and almost got whiplash when I couldn't stop watching JWS as well as LBH at the same time (my neck still hurts). Anyways, JWS's character in TGTBTW was unfortunately completely undeveloped (on purpose, it felt like), so yeah, LBH in guyliner and black was all the sizzle on screen, but JWS was the slow simmer.

@ langdon813 -- lolz. Anyone else get to see him in those CFs for..oh, damn, i don't even remember what they're for keke. (they're on KBS World.) All i pay attention to is JWS dreamily saying qwenchanayo about 12 times. this is why commercials don't work. ^^

@ lovenyc52 and langdon-unni
Predictable is but another word for steadfast, and we two are surely steadfast in our devotion to the gods of k-drama acting, Jung Woo-sung being one of them, and the other being Lee Jung-jae. So how could we not squee with all our might when an article pops up with JWS's adorable mug and a shout-out to LJJ.

@Sonam: Like Ockoala mentioned, "Moment to Remember" is a must watch!
I watched it last year, and I couldn't stop crying. Note: Keep a a box of tissues nearby. It is a really good movie that whether your a fan of Jung Woo Sung or not, it's a movie that should be put on the "movies-to-watch-before-I-die" list. But he was amazing in it~ I became a fan of his because of that movie~
I really look forward to seeing "Director Jung Woo Sung"!
He has lots of experience, and it would be awesome if all his star friends would star in his movie!

Yes! Yes! Yes! I want him.
The first time I've ever seen him was the movie " A Moment To Remember" needless to say, I've been hooked. What's not to love? Tall, handsome and with the combination of his charisma. Deng, I could go on and on. (^_^)

@omo...
I'd definitely act for free, willingly with the smile on my face.

I find this picture hilarious especially with the headline "Jung Woo-sung sets his sights on directing" like he is in deep thought yet maybe all he is thinking of is "what shall I eat for lunch". Or maybe I'm just projecting since that is what I'm thinking right now.
He is hot though.
