Filming begins on Heading to the Ground
by javabeans
Don’t call him U-Know Yunho anymore; the DBSK idol star wants to be known under his real name, Jung Yun-ho, as he takes on the lead role — and his acting debut — in the MBC soccer drama Heading to the Ground [맨땅에 헤딩].
(Not that this is new; lots of singers using stage names have switched to their real names for film and drama roles, seeking a more serious image as legitimate actors. The most famous example is probably Rain, who acts under the name Jung Ji-hoon.)
The drama recently began shooting; its first filming day took place in Seoul’s Kangnam district in a scene that saw Jung Yun-ho chatting with his friend since middle school, played by Lee Yoon-ji. Jung was reportedly very careful as he filmed, checking every one of his movements and lines of dialogue, and practicing in spare moments. He frequently conferred with producers to confirm that the details he’d prepared according to his image of the character were fitting in properly.
(Good for him, but that makes me wonder how slowly filming must proceed with a completely green actor as your star. I’m not saying he’s bad, because maybe he won’t be, but when your main character is so cautious, one would think that eats up a lot of time. Compared to working with a pro like Kim Rae-won, for example, had he continued with the role.)
PD Park Sung-soo (Ruler of Your Own World) did praise his star for his preparation, saying, “Good job. When did you practice all that?”
Jung described filming as going comfortably, saying, “The atmosphere on the set is really great, enough to be surprising. …It’s a ton of fun expressing this character of Cha Bong-kun. The first shoot felt really good.” As the Bong-kun character is a talented soccer player, Jung also explained that he’s also got to keep in shape.
The plot draws a romantic love story between opposites: Bong-kun is passionate soccer player with a warm, positive personality who doesn’t have much in the way of worldly possessions. His love interest Hae-bin (Go Ara) has everything as the rich daughter of the team owner, who is determined to prove herself on her own merits. The two have a bickering relationship fueled by constant misunderstandings that (naturally!) turns romantic.
Heading to the Ground airs its first episode on September 9.

I'm looking forward to this.
I hope Yunho gets a vacation after this. But given that he's under SM, probably not. -_-;;

@ a little taste of heaven: THe little girl is Ohn Jung Won. She's from Queen of Housewives.
I'm looking forward to this drama. I liked Go Ara from Who Are You? And I'm hoping to see if she's improved in her acting since then. And I want to see how DBSK's leader fairs in this drama as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing the ever lovely Lee Yoon Ji in action once again. As she's made a large impact in most of series in which she's appeared, it mystifies me that she is so well regarded within the industry and yet relatively unknown to the public at large. Maybe this project will be the one...

i saw a clip of that first filming.. and it did look like things were going really slow. but my guess is that eventually he'll get the hang of it and hopefully it'll become natural for him and won't have to question himself.

This will probably be a SsaengBangSong drama. =(
From all of the fan accounts that I have read, I don't even think that they have finished filming episode 1. The script has been written all the way up to episode 12 so I think they are skipping around.
Ara and Yunho are an extremely good looking couple and I'm already very anxious to see their chemistry together. From all of the YunRa pictures that I've seen, they look very comfortable around each other (probably because they are both in SM) and they look like they are having fun which is great!

I'm curious to see how Yun Ho will play out his character. But I'm not watching this 'til the end for sure, I usually don't like sports-related dramas.
@Carmie
I actually like Go Ara in Who Are You?, I think she was pretty good. I've read other people's comments about her acting, but I honestly don't see any hint of shoddy acting. :)

Sounds like typical leader ssi. That perfectionism and wanting to do everything well... I swear already I can see it, he's going to tire himself out. Wanting to give the best to his team is admirable, as is most everything about him... I really think he should've started small and given himself some practice first. Good luck, leader ssi! It should be fun, anyway.

I'll be skipping this... Sports drama just doesn't work for me AT ALL. I was looking forward to Dream but I quickly tired of it despite Kibum :S I'll just have to keep a lookout for his next drama instead~

I hope this sports drama will fare better than the previous ones that failed to ignite attention ..... definitely people will watch it to see Jung YunHo. I won't be able to tune in though, since it will air when TCOA/MFL is still airing :(...
I think he'll come out w/ pretty decent acting :)

I'm really looking forward to his acting debut! I feel like the character Yunho is playing is very similar to him in a lot of ways: warm, optimistic, kind of naive, a go-getter, etc. I'm looking forward to it!
