Seo Hyo-rim makes her film debut
by javabeans
Bubbly actress and recent CF favorite Seo Hyo-rim (Job Well Done) is taking on her screen debut in Desire to Kill [죽이고 싶은], a psychological thriller. She’s been steadily rising in profile since her debut, taking parts in dramas When Spring Comes, Insoon Is Pretty, and The World They Live In, and while she’s still got a way to go, her acting shows a lot of energy and charm.
In the film, Seo Hyo-rim plays a nurse who attends to a patient played by Chun Ho-jin (also of Job Well Done), who is confined to his hospital room after a traumatic event set off a string of multiple suicide attempts. With the arrival of a paralyzed patient, played by Yoo Hae-jin (Public Enemy Returns), the two share a room and come to hate each other with a passion. What follows is described as a “ghastly revenge drama.”
Oh, bring it on! I don’t know about you, but this sounds pretty intense and fantastic. It’s like Sartre (“Hell is other people”) meets modern mindfuckery, sort of like the Japanese film 2LDK, which is weirdly, darkly hilarious (two actresses share a lavish apartment provided by their agency, grow to hate each other, and finally lash out in a spectacular combination of violence and annoyance tactics — it’s entertaining in a loopy, morbid way).
Seo said of the role, “This is my film debut, so to be working with such great senior actors adds some pressure, but I think I’ll be able to learn a lot so I’m excited and looking forward to it.” The film starts shooting July 15.

She is quite cute in Good Job, Good Job... even though her english is kinda grating at times.. (FYI she's supposed to be playing a korean who was adopted by black parents in America and she's supposed to barely know korean..)
