Hyun Bin and Seo Hyo-rim kiss for Outback
by javabeans
Hyun Bin may be currently appearing in a dark, intense drama (Friend, Our Legend), but he takes a decidedly light-hearted approach in his latest CF.
In this new CF for restaurant franchise Outback Steakhouse, he and actress Seo Hyo-rim cozy up together but are thwarted by food (Hyun Bin moves in for a kiss but is distracted by the sight of a steak. Hehe). The CF was shot last month in Gangwondo, and began running at the start of July. (This is the third part of the CF series.)
It took me a moment to realize that they’d actually worked together before (even if their storylines were more or less separate) in last year’s drama series The World They Live In, where Hyun Bin played a drama PD and Seo Hyo-rim played a rookie actress.
Seo is a relative newbie to the business but she’s already gained some notice in several dramas; in addition to World and Job Well Done, she was also in Insoon Is Pretty and When Spring Comes, and has become something of a hot CF commodity these days.
The two actors are also appearing in current weekend dramas — he in Friend, Our Legend, and she in Job Well Done.

I think my binnie should do a another Sunbin drama and say something like, "I heard you signed a body contract with your ex-bf and he called you his hamster??? With Cha Seung something or other??!"
Hehe. :)

Spot translation!
HB: Hyo Rim, close your eyes.
HR: Ahhh all of a sudden... (you wanna kiss) mmmmmm. (so cliched and yet so cute)
HB: Spicy steak??!?
HR: ????
HB: I couldn't stop myself from scarfing it...
HR: Wow, it's really good.
random rude people joining in: "oh really?"
HR (alone with HB again): Don't open your eyes!
hehe, its a cute commercial.

There are several other Outback CFs with HB and HR but nothing approaching kiss-u. Just go to YouTube and type in Hyun Bin Outback. All are toooo adorable, altho i grit my teeth at the import of western chain restaurants into Korea. I ate there once (the guest of Koreans) and it was so meh. LOL at the magic power of the word "STEAK!"
This one is especially cute.

@15, paula253-
That commercial you linked is so funny! I totally see JB in that 60 sec commercial rather than Hyo Rim. The new commercial would then be:
*bump* *Binnie causes Javabean's coffee to splash into her steak* Javabeans gets out her stabby hands until she realizes it was Binnie who bumped her.
Binnie (bows): I apologize. Let me get you a new order of steak.
Javabeans (flustered): Oh! Ohhh, that's perfectly fine. I normally eat my steak with expresso coffee. I'm Javabeans, after all.
(bspanda and hjkomo, flanking Javabeans, roll their eyes as Javabeans pours rest of her coffee onto her steak... she takes a bite of the steak).
Javabeans: Oh?! Omo... this tastes really good!

hehe these Outback ones are cute, and for the mnikss loonies, that random rude dude is that pudgy waiter/betrayer at Bon Appetit! ;) I like them esp when they have 'making film' along with the CF...

O actually they go way back as a CF couple. They did many seasons of Conus as well. Watching Chingu, I have to get use to seeing him with more hair back in SQ days lol

@Samsooki, lol lol. I don't think JB will object to being cast in your revised CF.
Is it just me but... espresso and steak? has anyone ever eaten this combo?
@19 hawjimage you're not naive, you just think, hmmm, why would Koreans want to eat at Outback when they have wonderful... KOREAN food???!! This was spring 2008, the height of the Beef Import/Mad Cow crisis, and I was reassured that this was delicious Australian beef, not that horribly tasting and disease-ridden American beef. Phew, I was so worried. ;) I remember ordering a chicken salad b/c it was a hot/humid day and i could not stand the thought of a hunk of cow.
Outback is -everywhere- in Seoul. Don't know about other parts of Korea. Black Angus is also popular as is McD's of course, and KFC, Burger King. (sigh) I never ate at any of them except when taken there by Koreans. McD's was decent b/c I had a bulgogi burger lol.

^ Actually my recipe for bistro steak (or Bavette a L'échalotte) fr a cook calls for espresso (and other stuff) to marinate, it brings out another layer of earthiness to it.

When I go home to Malaysia, all I want to eat is local fare and I steer clear of American chain restaurants. My husband and little boy though have to get their 'at least' once a week American food fix from McDonald's or Pizza Hut.

Samsooki thanks for the translation!
@17
LMAO about your recast of CF with JB! However if I was in that close proximity to Binnie I think rolling my eyes at JB would be the last thing I would be doing. (Grabbing Binnie might be more like it... :P )
hehehe re: the 'halo' of light behind Binnie!
Espresso steak - WTF? Would one eat a espresso steak for breakfast to get a caffine hit? Sounds very weird. Wonder what it tastes like....if anyone who has tried this espresso steak want to tell the rest of us how it tasted? Yuk or good?
