Ara makes her Japanese drama debut
by javabeans
Nineteen-year-old Go Ara (Who Are You) is taking on not just one, but two new drama roles. One has already been announced, which pits her opposite U-Know Yunho in the soccer drama Heading to the Ground.
The other is the Japanese series Karei naru Spy, which just began airing on July 18 and stars Nagase Tomoya and Fukada Kyoko. She’ll appear in the third episode, which airs on August 1, playing a Korean actress who connects with Nagase Tomoya, a swindler-turned-government spy, and talks with him about his painful past. She has already filmed the episode, which marks her Japanese television debut.
Meanwhile, Heading to the Ground features Ara as a sports agent and premieres on September 9.

She seems to be decently popular in Japan. I remember she was in a Japanese movie about Genghis Khan (she played his wife).

I am not impressed with her acting at all, but it pays to be goodlooking, cause even bad acting is pretty much tolerated when there's eyecandy involved.

I really can't wait to see her in the episode! It's always fun to watch celebrities make cameo appearances~ Go Ara's acting is not the best, but it's good enough. I liked her in Snow Flower ^^
But it also reminds me about the Japanese film Subaru that came out in March, and I wasn't able to see it TT___TT It had Go Ara, and I wanted to see her do ballet!

I wouldn't call her a good actress yet but she's got potential, there were moments in Who Are You? where she shined but for the throughout that entire series she was almost always overshadowed by Yoon Kye Sang and the actor who played her father.

#05 - Yeah that's true! If I was good-looking like her, i'd probably be casted in a few dramas already. :P LOL
She's not the worst actress I've seen, but she doesn't live the hype that surrounds her and I'm sure most of the time she's casted because of her looks.
I'm pretty sure she'll be able to be popular in Japan. She has the type of beauty that japanese people like. And besides that, she looks a bit alike Erika Sawajiri (who is a great actress, unlike Ara). Erika Sawajiri was loved by japanes people before the Closed Note movie premiere incident. But unfortunelly after that incident her career was afected.
Anyway, I think Ara has potencial of someday becoming a good actress. Maybe in a few years, she'll show us her potencial.
PS: I love Nagase Tomoya and Fukada Kyoko! :P

I love Nagase Tomoya - He can have me rolling with laughter one minute and crying my heart out the next. Even in his comedies!

I just saw the episode where she's in. Her Japanese is pretty good for a korean, (I'm Japanese myself) so It seems like maybe she's gone through a good amount of Japanese training.
The episode is pretty good so far..
Thanks for posting!
