Kim Hyun-joo puts up her dukes
by javabeans
More new stills are out from law drama Partner, and feature main star Kim Hyun-joo (as an “ajumma lawyer”) getting into the boxing ring — with a middle school student.
In this particular episode, Kim’s character takes on a physical bout with disorderly young students. And no, it’s not a Dal Ja-like fantasy sequence; a producer explains that in the scene, she’s teaching a lesson to rowdy neighborhood delinquents, “and rather than scolding them with a lecture, she chooses to confront them directly.” To prepare, Kim spent a week at action school, training every day for her scene.
The drama airs its first episode on June 24, following Accidental Couple on KBS.
Kim plays a character who makes rash, reckless actions but is warm-hearted and loyal (which contrasts to those at the firm around her). Although it is first and foremost labeled a “law drama,” it seems like Partner is aiming for a strong comic bent. In addition to its main cast, which also includes Lee Dong-wook, Choi Chul-ho, Honey Lee, Kim Dong-wook, and Shin-yi, the drama has also cast veteran comedy actors Lee Won-jong (Gourmet, Iljimae, War of Money) and Park Chul-min (Return of Iljimae‘s Wang Hweng-bo and Beethoven Virus‘ fidgety trumpeteer).

Comic? That's interesting... not exactly what I had pictured. Well, this case is pretty awesome.. so hopefully they can pull it off!

I gotta say, that's pretty hot.
Ask any guy, but a girl boxing in the ring, that's pretty hot. The headgear will make it less hot (while boxing), but seeing a woman "glistening" after a boxing workout, taking off the handwraps....
man... that's hot.
If you want to impress a guy, there's not too many things that you can do. I would say that number 1 on the list of impressive things that a guy will be like, "woah, that's pretty hot" is boxing.

Being all sweaty is hot samsooki? Hahaha... -_- ... I wonder why I hate it so much after a heavy workout...
Hmmm.... Partner seems interesting. Lately I'm more into mystery, thriller, or action movies/dramas so I don't know if I might come to follow it. :D

@6 popcorn -
It's not about being sweaty. If you are at a gym, I would expect everybody to be sweaty. It's the fact that she is boxing that is hot. It shows courage (ability or willingness to take multiple hits), it shows athleticism. It shows strength and discipline. It shows an adventuresome spirit. It shows mental toughness. And it shows that the boxer doesn't mind getting down and dirty and sweaty. The combination of all of that is drop-dead-sexy. Plus, toned arms rock.
I see a ton of women with the ubiquitous white iPod earbuds on ellipticals and treadmills, but I can't tell them apart and honestly I don't even see them. But I respect and admire the women who take the boxing class. In a word, hotness - except for the headgear for sparring, which looks dorky.

She should be... "Yankumi" in the Gokusen K-remake. Seriously.

Speaking of Gokusen, that reminds me...I hope Partner doesn't turn into one of those dramas that's like "oh, all these people were just misunderstood. It just takes the right people looking after them that will set them down the right path." I guess this might be inevitable with any drama though.

I have to agree with that guy... I can imagine her saying a tearful, and this would be played in the background.
